Overall it was a very nice dining experience. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. There were not a lot of people in the restaurant, but we had a relatively early reservation of 6:45 p.m. The traffic started picking up towards the end of our dinner. The bar, however, was pretty full and a band was starting to set up as we left. We did have a cocktail in the bar both before our dinner and after. It has a great atmosphere.
As for dinner, the menu is small, which is refreshing, but at the same time can be frustrating if you are a bit of a picky eater. Luckily I am not, but I do like a few more options than were available. In particular, all of the steak options were absolutely huge cuts and if I'm remembering correctly, not one option under $42, which, as a minimum price, is a little high for Billings. I went with the halibut option ($36) and my boyfriend had the roasted chicken ($20-something). He also started with the soup ($8), which was very good.
We both enjoyed our meals and opted for two desserts to finish off the meal since we were out for a special occasion (and we had a gift card!). We had the seasonal crème brûlée, which was brandy apple and very tasty. We also had the cherry tart. It was the seasonal special dessert. The tart was very good, but was topped with a chocolate mousse that seemed out of place on this particular dessert. It was just a weird combination and unnecessary. Also, the mousse was overly chocolatey and just not our favorite, although honestly we're not big chocolate eaters. If I were to order it again, I would ask them to substitute with some whipped cream or perhaps some vanilla ice cream. I will say the French press coffee I had with dessert was excellent!
