It took me some time to write this review, as it has been a few weeks since my last visit to Ten Hut. We have been there three times, and the food has consistently been great. The upbeat ambiance, enhanced by K-pop music, contributes to the atmosphere, although it can sometimes be a bit too loud for those looking to have a conversation. This, however, isn't a dealbreaker. While there is limited indoor seating, there is plenty of space on the patio.
We enjoy everything from the soy garlic wings and chicken strips to the fries and drinks. Unfortunately, the service has been off-putting during all three visits. This is surprising since many others rave about the service. I returned twice more in hopes that our experience would improve. Perhaps the person at the counter doesn't like the look of us, or maybe we've been too indecisive, and he's been busy. It's also possible we've just been unlucky in catching him on off days. Whatever the reason, he has not been friendly.
On one occasion, he even brought us free soda after noticing that we were taken aback by his demeanor. My daughter and I misunderstood the sauce choice and were going back and forth about it, which seemed to upset him. He insisted that his notes were clear and that he was right. I had to explain that it wasn't about him. Unfortunately, I couldn't overlook similar behavior during the first two visits or his defensiveness after being snippy towards my daughter and husband at the counter on our last visit.
It's really unfortunate, as I can't envision making a fourth visit. The owner clearly takes pride in the food and customer experience, so I'm not suggesting that others avoid the place; many people have had positive experiences. I just wanted to share this perspective so the owner can keep an eye on things. After reading through several reviews, I found a few others with similar experiences, suggesting that it may not be an isolated issue. If the review were solely about the food and ambiance, I'd give it four stars.
