This review is hard for me to write, but I have to do it... for the (Yelp) culture.
Let's start with the good. EVERY EMPLOYEE AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS WONDERFUL. Literally, every single person on the staff. If you want to have a great night in a beautiful restaurant full of people who love where they work - this is the place. For instance: They gave my niece a staff-signed, handwritten Birthday Card!!!!!! The team here goes above and beyond, so I do recommend Ten Sushi for a special night or event. The service raised my experience to a TEN. But, wait! How did they only get 3 Stars?
1. I asked if they had a Sashimi Sampler. They said, Yes - but only during lunch hours. They made an exception for me (because they are wonderful people). I ordered a double portion of the Sashimi Sampler. Problem: IT WAS NIGIRI. Ummmmm, this is a Sushi restaurant, and we all know there is no rice attached to Sashimi. Maybe it's just me. The word Sushi does actually mean Sour Rice. Maybe that's literal here. Maybe every dish has rice?
2. The General Ten Chicken was just okay, and the other guests' entrees & sushi was acceptable. The level of quality in the dishes on the menu do not match the decor, staffing or pricing. I can get decent Sushi from a grocery store. Ten Sushi needs to be great or change the name to TEN Sushi-Inspired Cuisine.
Maybe having a few drinks adds to the attraction of this restaurant, but it wasn't that kind of party. We just wanted some great food, and it ain't here. This location just opened 22 days ago (August 2, 2024), but it's not their first location - so there is no excuse. It is what it is.
Oh, somebody just asked why I didn't tell the staff about the Nigiri... Obviously, you don't know me. If I have to tell you - I have to charge you. Training is not free.
