Where to Make Reservations for Dallas Restaurant Week August 2023 | Eater Dallas

"If you love Ten50's barbecue but hate going to Richardson — the traffic on 75 can be a nightmare — I'm glad they're bringing their wares to Lover’s Lane and Preston Park, just west of the Dallas North Tollway; the long-awaited second location, which took ten years to open, is slated for winter 2023, and owner Preston Evans says he grew up in the neighborhood and it's been a dream for his family to serve this part of Dallas." - Courtney E. Smith

First Impression, the rustic-modern atmosphere immediately impresses with its bright, inviting space and the irresistible aroma of smoked meats. Our meal for two, totaling around $53, included a pulled pork sandwich, a half chicken, two sides, and two adult beverages. While it felt a bit on the pricier side, the experience was largely satisfying. The pulled pork and half chicken were solid contenders. However, the sides presented a mixed bag. The fried okra, regrettably, was a touch over-salted, and the mac and cheese leaned more tangy and runny than rich and creamy. A minor quibble for those who enjoy a kick: the absence of a spicy BBQ sauce left us craving a bit more heat to complement the smoky flavors. Despite these small misses, Ten50 BBQ offers a generally decent barbecue experience. We'll likely find ourselves back at some point to explore more of their meat options.

This was our first time at this location! The restaurant is so clean and the staff so friendly yet professional. The brisket was perfect! I think my husband said, the Mac and cheese is the best he’s had lately. Definitely recommend the fried okra. It’s seasoned and breaded to perfection 🤌🏼 The fries were fresh and so crispy and delicious. Highly recommended this location! Thank you for such great food and service 😉

Jeremy and his crew run a very good ship!....I have been 4 or 5 times. Have not yet tried the ribs....My first experience was via their catering.....Which is absolutely First rate. The brisket and both sausage offerings are great. Chopped beef sandwich very good also. I had that today....they have a little different take in that they have it chopped in little squares vs. being more shredded in consistency. Still moist. I like the Carolina sauce they have....but the More Texas based sauce is good also...(this is all personal preference :)) MAYBE the best onion rings in Dallas. Great iced tea....this is important! :) Can't have great bbq without great iced tea! I like their coleslaw also....vinegar based, and not too sweet. Staff very friendly. Some reviewers have complained about their prices being high. My take is that they occupy space in one of Dallas's most expensive real estate districts. Their rent is sky high. Also, beef prices are not cheap....nor is anything else today! It is not inexpensive, but there are good reasons it is not. You might find barbecue you like better, but you won't find barbecue anything like this good near this location. One way to mitigate higher pricing is by bringing a friend, or friends, and sharing the generous portions as to meats and sides. I am so glad they are here. Try it! I think you will like it very much!

I’ve been here maybe five times before tonight and until now consistently good food and positive vibes from the staff. Today, however my customer service level was very poor and set the tone for my future visits here Also it is extremely expensive for the working man or families. Off the chart! Not to worry SONNY IS JUST DOWN THE ROAD AT 2202 INWOOD RD NEAR HARRY HINES. The bartender at Ten-50 was difficult to talk to, and she was arrogant and argumentative. She made me feel uncomfortable and not welcome. Would not make what I ordered. Told me they don’t have sprite. Yes ,they do. Not my first rodeo… I Really Miss Sonny! The vibe of this place will tank it on Lovers. I tried it. Bartender Karen I hope you are reading this and how you made a new customer to feel. Before insisting that the manager give my $67 refund for one meal of ribs, I sternly informed him to either train his staff that the word NO DOES NOT EXIST IN 2025 SERVICE LEVELS Train your staff. Much better experiences out there! THIS PLACE IS OPERATING IN HISTORIC BONES, BUT THE REMODELS SEEM TO BE LIKE LIPSTICK ON A PIG 🐽 BBQ FANS SUPPORT THE LOCAL WORKING MEN AND WOMEN AT SONNYS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ SONNY BRYANS BBQ 2202 INWODD OAK LAWN DISTRICT AMAZING SERVICE, GREAT FOOD — HISTORIC AND TEXAS FRIENDLY ALWAYS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love this place in the Richardson location, this is my first time going to the lovers Lane location totally different really no communication. I had a to go order and when I got home, I realized the corn was burnt like they need to get rid of this ear, so let’s just put it in one of the customers orders. This really pisses me off and I almost not wanted to ever go here anymore.😤😡 six piece pieces of ribs and one Burnt corn, $40

First visit to Ten 50 BBQ on Lovers Lane and it won’t be our last! The brisket was tender and full of flavor, and the sides were just as impressive – the mac & cheese was creamy and rich, and the fried okra was perfectly crispy. The salad was huge and fresh, a nice surprise for a BBQ spot. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the buildout is fantastic – stylish, creative, and super comfortable. One suggestion: the menu could do a better job explaining how to build a combo meal. It only lists meats by the half pound, but after asking, the staff told us you can order in quarter-pound increments. An easy combo plate option on the menu would make things even better. Can’t wait to come back!

Google
This is a relatively new place, very nice atmosphere with good, friendly service. The barbecue is authentic and the sides are very good, especially the fried okra ... crisp, not mushy like most other places. Also, a FULL BAR. Give it a try.

Google
Nothing special about this place other than the decor is cool. The order taker/cashier was apathetic to my presence, i had to repeat everything twice and she seemed put out that I asked for pickles and onions on the side and not on the sandwich. Brisket was not tender, borderline tough. This is the third time I have patronized this place and it will be my last. Substandard experience for a $35 sandwich, side and iced tea and the expected tip that i wish i could revoke. Not sure why the owner of this place isn’t paying closer attention. Good luck LOL

Yelp
Solid bbq outing! Staff went out of their way to be helpful and kind. Food was good, though I know there is better bbq around town, but I would happily go back and take family & friends here. The sides were my favorite. We really enjoyed the Mac n cheese, fried okra, and elote.

Yelp
Meh. Overpriced for what you get. First one person taking orders despite so many workers standing around. The food was ok. Fries tasted like in&out's. I got elote and it was on the cob not like traditional elote. Cornbread was decent. The sandwich was pretty big but very stingy with pickles and no they aren't out to serve yourself. Only one BBQ sauce on the table. The chopped brisket was nothing to write home about.

Yelp
My favorite barbecue place in the park cities area. Ten50 is riding on the elevated barbecue trend that is going on. Brisket, sandwiches, all very good.

Yelp
I love the the location in Richardson. I decide to go to the one in Dallas off lovers Lane for the first time the way they do. The price of the meat is different than weigh in it. Six slices of ribs and one corn on the cob that was totally burnt and I realize it till I got all the way home for $40 I am so mad I won't ever go to this location again.

Yelp
Basic bbq Slow service Inattentive customer service High prices but that's expected in this area. Quality doesn't match price

Yelp
Wow!!! What a wonderful combination of great bbq and perfect ambiance! Ten 50 hit it out of the park with this location. The glass roof is pure art and the brisket is out of this world! Nicely done folks!
google avatar

Reyn M.

Yelp
This is maybe the nicest interior of any BBQ place around, but that doesn't make the food any better. It has all hard surfaces, and even when less than half full, it is really noisy. It's a walk-up and order; they bring it to your table. That sort of service gets no tip from me. There are too many better places in Dallas to revisit this place.

Yelp
I am so happy we decided to check out this new neighborhood barbecue spot!! It was absolutely divine. We ordered the brisket, rolls and a side of Mac and cheese to go. This photo doesn't do it justice it was 10/10. Can't wait to come back!! Welcome to the neighborhood!!

Yelp
YUUUSSSS THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! Welcoming atmosphere, great food, good prices, warm service. Highly recommend. It has big shoes to fill in the old Sonny Bryants spot, but they did it! Really cool seeing this place shine. I would go here every day if i could!! Try it now! I will take pics next time. If you like meat, and good sides, this is the spot! Top notch sauce, top notch bbq!

Yelp
Ambience was nice, the staff, friendly. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich($18) the sandwich and sauce was good but the portion? Embarrassingly meager. 20 bucks? Sides start at 5 bucks each for a small taking the bill up to 30 dollars and haven't event ordered my drink.. Being a native Texan, I grew up on bar bq.. never once did I ever have to pay for sides .. like in ever. I was very excited to learn a bbq place was coming just a stone's throw from my home, but a casual Saturday afternoon meal at the local, shouldn't set you back $50 for just one diner.. no dessert .. c'mon people..

Jeff G.

Yelp
Delicious meal with my family. Turkey, brisket, onion strings, and Mac and cheese. Very friendly staff and really enjoyable dining room. Will go back!

Sarah S.

Yelp
Turkey was sliced thin and had very little flavor, brisket was fatty, torpedos were not good, John Daly too sweet but the onion rings were tasty.

Nina J.

Yelp
$20 for a salad and $6 more to sub brisket for the chicken. they give maybe a little less than an 1/8th of a pound of brisket. not a good deal for $26. also I asked for just 1 torpedo and they stood there going back n forth with each other trying to decide whether they would sell me 1 torpedo. they wouldn't. really weird when I just spent $30 on a salad and tax and a drink. don't come to the Dallas one if you want good service. Richardson may not have salads but I'd rather go to richardson for a decent service.

Yelp
When the nice lady at the counter said the brisket sandwiches are really big and suggested we let them cut them in half we were excited! Well turns out they aren't all that big. Actually more on the small size. For $18! My first bite was pure fat with no bark on that hunk a fat. Sauce seemed watered down. Cole slaw had too much of something. Maybe vinegar. Atmosphere was perfect with plenty of seating. Lots of high chair customers.

Tim M.

Yelp
I hate to give a mediocre review but it is warranted in this instance. I stopped in to have lunch. The loaded potato was pretty good. My beef brisket sandwich was very fatty. I had asked for it lean. I had also asked at the time of my order, to get about a half pound takeout of brisket as well and asked for it also to be lean. I got it for elementary school kid who is very picky about fatty things. I heard the counter call it back to make sure both were lean. I choked down my pretty fatty brisket sandwich. As you can imagine, the supposedly lean brisket I took home wasn't lean. To say my kid wasn't happy would be an understatement. I tried cutting off as much fat as I could but it was really no use and I was left with only about 20% usable meat. Ultimately my child wouldn't touch almost any of it. I dropped $50 for my sandwich, potato and to go brisket. One of the more disappointing dining experience in a long time and an almost total waste of my money but our dog was very happy. My child loves brisket and we probably buy at least a pound or more for her each week. It is our go to meat for her. This far and away was bottom of the pack for our recent brisket experience in our neighborhood. Ambiance was decent too. If they didn't have anything lean, they could have just told me. Everyone else in the area has been able to accommodate this. This could have been an ideal option as they are very close to our house. Not sure if I am willing to go back at this point. At least the potato was good. I'd give it 4.5/5 and the reason I didn't give only one star. Overall the service was good.

Robert V.

Yelp
Very clean. Food and service were great. Brisket and turkey kid approved. Beans with brisket were good.

B.G. W.

Yelp
Crazy expensive, $30 for six high fat content pork ribs. Service came with a large order of attitude. Doubtful this place will make it, no worries we won't be back.

Jon J.

Yelp
I've been waiting for a great bbq neighborhood. This evening I ordered a brisket sandwich and potato salad to go and it was excellent! Great service too.

Ja C.

Yelp
Brisket is stellar. Sides just delicious. Turkey sandwich sooo good if you don't feel like brisket or other meat. Great ambiance too!

Jon J.

Yelp
I was really looking forward to having a new BBQ restaurant in my neighborhood, so I tried it tonight. I was SO disappointed. The sliced brisket was so tough and so salty, that it might have well as been jerky. I will not go back again.

Tisha C.

Yelp
Best BBQ in DFW!!! I've had everything on the menu and it's always 10/10 which is rare as most BBQ places have terrible sides or if you're lucky one good side. Not Ten 50! Everything and I mean everything is good! Also the staff treats EVERYONE like family on every visit no matter what you spend. Keep up the great work guys! Also see you Thursday!

Consumer A.

Yelp
This is a beautiful restaurant, and they must have a significant overhead to keep it up. Prices reflect this. The food is good but not delicious. The potato salad has a quirky ingredient, maybe cucumber. Food was brought to our table and was not hot, not cold, but not hot. The BBQ sauce was bland. The only thing I would change would be the ordering process. Yes, you walk up to the cashier and place your order. Then, she turns the screen around, which has a pre-determined amount of tip to add. What exactly am I adding a gratuity for? But nothing is moving until you tip! Dinner for 2 with tea, $67. Not worth it.

Harrison K.

Yelp
Got it to go, so no comments on service or ambiance. I would say solid average. The ribs weren't my favorite, but the brisket was pretty good though. Same with the beans though they're almost more of a charro bean than a bbq baked bean. The potato salad was fine. That said, bbq is subjective so to each their own.
