Where to Make Reservations for Dallas Restaurant Week August 2023 | Eater Dallas

"If you love Ten50's barbecue but hate going to Richardson — the traffic on 75 can be a nightmare — I'm glad they're bringing their wares to Lover’s Lane and Preston Park, just west of the Dallas North Tollway; the long-awaited second location, which took ten years to open, is slated for winter 2023, and owner Preston Evans says he grew up in the neighborhood and it's been a dream for his family to serve this part of Dallas." - Courtney E. First Impression, the rustic-modern atmosphere immediately impresses with its bright, inviting space and the irresistible aroma of smoked meats. Our meal for two, totaling around $53, included a pulled pork sandwich, a half chicken, two sides, and two adult beverages. While it felt a bit on the pricier side, the experience was largely satisfying. The pulled pork and half chicken were solid contenders. However, the sides presented a mixed bag. The fried okra, regrettably, was a touch over-salted, and the mac and cheese leaned more tangy and runny than rich and creamy. A minor quibble for those who enjoy a kick: the absence of a spicy BBQ sauce left us craving a bit more heat to complement the smoky flavors. Despite these small misses, Ten50 BBQ offers a generally decent barbecue experience. We'll likely find ourselves back at some point to explore more of their meat options.

The food was amazing! You must try the banana pudding! The atmosphere is also super pretty - bright and clean and with a nice bar too!

Solid 4. Food is good but not great. Most things were under-seasoned to my liking which made using BBQ sauce a need. I had brisket, ribs and burtn end. The Mac and cheese was awesome. Great iced tea, but the cup is a weird size and don’t fit in the cup holder of my truck. Find the salt and get some normal sized cups and it’s closer to a 5.

First visit to Ten 50 BBQ on Lovers Lane and it won’t be our last! The brisket was tender and full of flavor, and the sides were just as impressive – the mac & cheese was creamy and rich, and the fried okra was perfectly crispy. The salad was huge and fresh, a nice surprise for a BBQ spot. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the buildout is fantastic – stylish, creative, and super comfortable. One suggestion: the menu could do a better job explaining how to build a combo meal. It only lists meats by the half pound, but after asking, the staff told us you can order in quarter-pound increments. An easy combo plate option on the menu would make things even better. Can’t wait to come back!

As other reviewers have noted, the service here is poor. I walked into the empty restaurant around 7 pm. I had to wait for the cashier to finish their text conversation before she decided to ask if I was ready to order. I thought it strange when they gave me a number for my takeout order - as though finding me in a sea of empty chairs would be a challenge. However, it did start to make more sense when other people came inside. First, there was a patron who had left with his takeout order before I arrived. He was coming back in to complain that they had forgotten to put his meat in with his order. How does a barbecue restaurant forget the meat you might wonder? I suppose it was fair that they stopped making my order to tend to fixing their mistake. They did seem to work to fix the problem. But the lack of any apology or sense of responsibility for the problem was striking. While I waiting for my order to be completed, I noticed that they were making and completing plates for dine in customers as I could sit and watch them get their orders while I waited for them to finish (bagging?) mine. Why it took so long to put the already prepared barbecue in a bag is a mystery as yet unanswered. This restaurant doesn't have a condiment and silverware bar/station, a fact I mention because the lack of utensils, plates, or other serving containers (they didn't even offer us butcher paper like other, finer, Texas barbecue joints.) Apparently the inattentive folks at Ten50 eat mac and cheese and barbecue beans with their fingers, or at least they expect their customer to forgotten such niceties. I suppose I suppose that it was my utensils they omitted and not my barbecue based on the other patron's experience. My barbecue was okay. The meat was was good and my sides were satisfactory (that I had tried their other locations helped me avoid their horrendous cole slaw and whatever it is they try to pass off as potato salad helped me avoid further disappointment.) Overall, this was not a good experience, and I can't imagine this location lasting long if my experience was indicative of their overall level of service.

Delicious! Both my brisket and pork ribs were succulent, wickedly tender, and incredibly flavorful. The atmosphere was stunning too. They have a huge skylight which flooded their entire dinning room with gorgeous light. The team that I interacted with were bith friendly and helpful. I will defiantly be back!

I went in wanting to try something new and unexpected and was pleasantly surprised. I got a half pound of pulled pork, some turkey, sausage, and torpedoes, all of which were very good. I came in with friends and we had to wait just a little in line, but nothing crazy. Overall it was a great experience with good food, I think it was worth it, especially compared to some of the other BBQ spots here in Central Dallas.

Excellent brisket and other meats. Friendly people and good atmostphere. Best BBQ in the area. Have been waiting for a good, local spot!
