The atmosphere was amazing, warm, friendly. Outstanding ales on tap, the Sassy Lassy was my favorite. In house pizza shop had a killer “Valentinos” Detroit style. Back room music was great, upbeat, old fashioned. Really a neighborhood, community driven vibe to this place. Loved it

Google
#46 in the now renamed SE MI Brewery Discovery Tour. Getting too far afield to call it just Metro Detroit anymore. I like this place and these people. A cool 2-story brick building next to the river. Humongous outdoor drinking/dining area with tons of picnic tables, many with umbrellas. Lots of shade from trees, too. Food truck out back, Vehicle City Tacos, if you need comestibles to soak up the alcohol. There are several beer cocktails in addition to the straight beer. And the beer is solid. Went with a flight - of six! - for $16. No complaints here. The inside is cozy and inviting. The beertenders are super friendly and quick, too. Why are they so far away? 😩

Google
Stunning fire house brewery. Loved the red lighting and firepit in the big back patio area. Some of the best merch selection of any brewery. Lots of excellent different brew styles and the service was outstanding. MUST TRY! For beer lovers

Google
Beers good, not great. Venue is very nice, lots of space and activities. Kid friendly when we were there at 2pm on a summer Saturday. I got a Blonde Ale and wife got the Soccer Mom. Taco truck is good, but expensive. And I'd pass on the chips and queso next time.

I've been to more than just a couple breweries 🍻in the past couple of years but this one, for a Wednesday night, was absolutely packed!😲 The bar staff is amazing.🥰 The events they have are well-known in the community and super popular.🥳 Magnificent outdoor area right on the river. There are tables, chairs, fire pit, a couple of booths, and 🪓 axe throwing 😳 and a food truck! Great selection of beer on tap as well as root beer and cider.😋 Just a whole lot of special going on here. Great vibe! 🙌🏻

Google
This is by far my favorite bar ever. The atmosphere is super cozy and doesn't feel like a typical bar. Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors, and fun schedule of events like live music, open mic night, and my favorite, Thursday night trivia. The staff are extremely friendly and will remember you! They also offer an awesome mug club membership where if you pay for a personal mug, you get discounts on your drinks for a year! Been going here regularly for at least 3 years, and plan on continuing to come by as long as I'm in the area. :)

Google
Get your IPAs, Ales, Lagers and even Kombuchas right here and enjoy it on a grassy yard. Tacos too!.

Google
Beer and staff 5 star. Building is supposedly an old fire station. Soooo why isn’t it decorated that way? Old wood half walls are so pretty. Then you have these plywood tables and junk torn pleather sofas. Reminds me of a grandma’s basement. Now I’ve never been to Flint but not much decor. Kegs against the walls and clutter in corners. Weird lights on an otherwise trendy black ceiling. Would have stayed for more than one beer but no. If you’re a beer snob, they’ve got phenomenal choices. Paint the walls red, get rid of the clutter, don’t put weird metal chairs against the wall, get a couple fire outfits, put up the fire pole. At least try for some decor. Walk in it should be more descriptive.

Yelp
I wandered upon this place walking the Flint river when we were at a banquet at the University of Michigan Flint and I have been coming back ever since I love the vibe. The backyard is beautiful has excellent food from the food truck out side a little bit overpriced but still very good.... I'm not a big drinker, but this place has homemade root beer that they brew themselves. It is absolutely great, I know some nights this place has comedy or trivia night, etc. you can check their website. If that's your thing also axe throwing in the backyard. Trust me this place will give you a different vibe if flint Right down the street is Kettering college sometimes in the summer you can catch a soccer game being played. And feel the life through the city again. Keep thriving flint I love to see it

Yelp
I remember when this was a vacant building and squatters were living here, and now it's a Flint staple! So glad someone came in and turned an abandoned building into something great for our city! Love their rotating taps, trivia nights and other popup events they have! The service is always great- everyone's friendly & down to earth. Tenacity has a laid black comfortable vibe. Right now they have a coffee cider on tap and I hope it never leaves!!!!! So good!

Yelp
"I aspired to the purity of the blessed malt." Someone is a poet of maybe not epic but at least respectable proportions. I'll come back to that later... Here we are with brewery visit #190! And this is a good one! Tenacity Brewing is in an unassuming old brick building and I drove right by it the first time. But coming the other way I saw quite a few cars in the parking lot which to me, a trained observer, is called a clue. There is no big central area but multiple smaller rooms. One obviously has a bar with seating nearby but several other rooms are also available affording a little smaller spaces especially good if you want to find a quieter area. They also have a large patio area which backs up to the river and I overheard the bartender telling someone that during the summer they have kayaks which they launch right off the bank. Cool stuff! I went with a flight of six beers and have to say they were all great in their own style. Surfer Blue is a blueberry wheat with a nice blueberry flavor and aroma. Not overpowering and just a good beer for me. The Atwood amber was next in honor of SWPFTD. The Amber was smooth with plenty of malty flavor. Lawnmower lager is a good lawnmower beer. Light in flavor and easy drinking. No off flavors at all. Aye, I do love a Sassin Lassie! I also love a Scotch ale so I had to go with this one. Very nice Scotch ale! The Sarsaparilla English IPA is the way I enjoy IPAs. Good aroma and flavor without the mind numbing, neck beard pontificating bitterness. Last one for me was the Woolen Mill milk stout. Great flavor and mouthfeel with the sweetness from unfermentable lactose. This was a great little stout. As I was tasting my beers I saw that a bard of beers had scribed on the wall: "From the moment I understood the weakness of my Busch it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of an IPA. I aspired to the purity of the blessed malt. Your kind cling to your lites, as if they will not decay and fail you. One day the crude beverage you call a "beer" will wither and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the craft is immortal." Cheers to the poet who left that gem for me and others to find. A photo of it is included to memorialize not only the wise words but the artwork that accompanied it. And yes, the area it was written is designed for that very purpose. This is a great spot and the brewer obviously knows their business. I will definitely stop back in at Tenacity when I get back to the area. I would have had a pint to follow but I was operating on about 4 hours of sleep after flying halfway across the country. If anyone is a glutton for punishment, please, follow my brewery, and distillery, reviews from across the U.S. and beyond! https://www.yelp.com/collection/-8iscFkpiiCI563-FDfwGg and if anyone is wondering who SWPFTD is you will have to check out my review of Black Market Brewing Co in Temecula, CA to understand. Yes, you will need to read into it a little to get the joke but I have confidence in you!

Yelp
Just a cool place to hang out and have a beer with your dog . Friendly staff, great beers and nice area to nag outdoors. Indoor seating is available as well. Sometimes the taco food truck is open

Yelp
This place was breath of fresh air. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the taco truck is fire!

Yelp
Tenacity is a true brewpub with a great selection of local beers, friendly staff and a neighborhood feel. I love the atmosphere here, it has a real "beer hall" feeling with open seating, indoor and outdoor venues, board games and evening entertainment. The staff here is awesome, they made us feel welcome and helped everyone choose their beer by giving us a few samples to try. If I had one suggestion, it would be to expand their kitchen. Very limited pizza options, though the pizza was really, really good. Overall, this is a great place to go with groups or with friends for a night out. Not a sports bar, not a fancy dining experience. Just great beer, pizza and a friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
Always a blast. Some nights are just quiet and some it's packed. Beer and seltzers are always tasty. Great summer spot to hang out and rock some corn hole and sit by the fire.
google avatar

Patti A.

Yelp
Cozy seating, delicious beer. Did not eat while here, but there was a food truck offering tacos.

Yelp
Great place to relax and have a beer and pizza. Comfortable interior with plenty of outdoor seating too. On the flint river

Yelp
We were on a Tagabrew trail and this was one of our stops. I must say that I did love the atmosphere here. There were lots of cutouts where you could sit and hang out. Some private romantic spots too. The seating was living room type and you really could get comfortable. Feels a bit like you're in someone's living room. Very cozy. We even saw nursing students there studying. Hahah. We both got a good laugh out of that. Nursing school is very tough and we both agreed that beer would have made studying more tolerable. They had a taco food truck out back. We didn't eat but the food smelled so good! The other patrons said it was amazing. The beer though... I was disappointed in the beer as was he. We both got a different kind too so I'm not really sure what wasn't right about it. Any way. We will probably give it another shot if we are in the area. We really liked the atmosphere!

Yelp
Love love loved this place! First time there and it was so welcoming and so fun to experience! Drinks were Amazing and the bar tender had some Great recommendations!!!

Yelp
A lot of local places I visit tap brews by Tenacity Brewing. I had never been a fan, so this afternoon I decided to go on a deep dive. Standing at the counter, I tried basically all of the brews on tap AND combinations (listen to your trusty barmaids) and found there are several I do indeed like! Thank you for bringing me into the fold!

Yelp
This is by far my favorite brewery in Genesee county. It has a very welcoming atmosphere and amazing brews. I'm loving this Oktoberfest beer I'm drinking right now. It doesn't matter what time of year it is there is a beer that's on draft that'll make you feel right in season. The staff are amazing and easy to chat with while at the bar. Keep a lookout for which beer they are pouring they donates $1per beer to the Flint Water Crisis. I started with the yearly mug club but have upgraded to lifetime. This allows for one free beer a week, discounted merchandise and more beer per pour in my very own mug. If you want a cool place to chill, a good date night venue or a place to meet with friends this is your place. I didn't even get in to the amazing tacos they make. Just come on out and give it a try, tell them Push Goddess sent you!!!

Yelp
My boyfriend, his family and I were in Flint for a wedding and had some time between the ceremony and the reception so I found this place on Yelp. I'd never been to Flint before so I didn't really know what to expect, but Tenacity Brewing is definitely worth a stop if you're in this area. It's a bit of a diamond in the rough, as it's not really by anything else and the exterior is a bit unassuming, but the interior decor, beer, friendly staff, fun outdoor space, and an awesome-sounding food truck definitely make up for any shortcomings upon first glance. The space is pretty cool, with a front seating area that includes some really fun light fixtures and several high top tables. The bar is towards the back, which is on a wall tiled with subway tiles. There is a second seating area in back with more of a lounge feel, with wingback chairs, built-in bench seating, and a loveseat/couch. There are some board games as well. The outdoor space has plenty of seating and yard games! It was super hot when we were there, so we didn't sit outside, but it definitely looked like a fun place to be later at night. Tenacity doesn't have a kitchen, but there is a food truck onsite most days. We didn't get any food, but the menu I saw had a bunch of different tacos that all sounded AMAZING, plus the smells coming from the truck were mouthwatering. I ordered a flight, as I usually do on my first visit to a brewery. I tried three IPAs, a milk stout, a cider, and one other I can't think of. We also ordered a pint of the root beer, because I can't pass up a good root beer! All the beers were well-balanced - my personal favorite was the grapefruit IPA and the other group favorite was the milk stout. Prices are very reasonable for this type of place - $4-$7 for a pint or tulip. No doubt about it, I will certainly be back to Tenacity if I'm ever in the area again!

Yelp
Amazing customer service provided by Jamie, not only when I ask some questions but also when I visited the business with my 11 year old Airedale Terrier. We felt right at home with the staff, patrons and the environment - on our first visit to their establishment for their Open Mic Night!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!! A++++++ for friends, family and social gatherings!!! Thank you!!!

Yelp
My brother took me here after a Michigan game. They serve all their own craft beer, non alcoholic beer and finger food. You order at the bar, take your drink or flight to a table that you choose with a number stick if you ordered food and they will bring that to you. I enjoyed all of their craft beers from the ciders to the stout. The fried chicken nachos were also very good. Food and beer is moderately priced. I'm not a fan of no table service but it might work for them. Cool, clean low lit vibe inside. Indoor/outdoor area with high top, chair, bench and picnic table seating split in multiple rooms. Patio area is has a decorative fence enclosure with a fire pit and corn hole game. Free WiFi. Lot parking. Live entertainment on evening weekends. I will return when I'm in the area.

Matt C.

Yelp
Coworker and I walked here from the Hilton Garden Inn. We got there around 430-5 on a Wednesday and not crowded at all so we had an easy choice of comfortable seats in a fun atmosphere. The beer was great. Will be back again.

Yelp
Fantastic fire pit if you like being outside in the winter. Their beer and cider are forever changing and fantastic. Honey Blu Blu and raspberry cheesecake stout is strong and smooth. Always a great experience.
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Tenacity is a tap room with a food truck that takes orders from the bar. the tap room opens at 3pm and the food at 4pm. It is about two blocks west of down town. Stop in Wednesday (July 25) for the first time. tried a pint each of the Milk Stout and the Sessions IPA. both were very good. I will visit again to sample some of there other beers.

Yelp
Top of my list for places to grab a beer in Flint. I really love how this place continues to evolve and has become so community-focused. Why is Tenacity awesome? Allow me to count the ways. 1. You can show up with your friends and your dog (no official kitchen means dog-friendly!), mosey up to the bar, and enjoy conversation with superfriendly staff. 2. If you are hungry, there's a good chance of eats. Vehicle City if often parked out back, serving THE MOST DELICIOUS TACOS in summer and a solid sammie/po boy selection in winter. Stalk Instagram accounts to confirm days and times that they are serving. Recently Tenacity has also been offering a selection of $1 donuts from the Blueline project. BlueLine Donuts is part of the Carriage Town Ministries' job skill and workforce training program and aims to teach restaurant skills and neighborliness through, in this case, donut creation. Hell to the yeah. 3. Heyday Coffee Roasters! Caffeine is a thing I enjoy all day every day, and early risers can now stop on by Tenacity for the their fix: they have a small coffee space in the front of the building that's open M-F, 7am-11am. And if you don't do mornings, fear not! Their nitro latte and nitro coffee are on top alongside Tenacity beers during the brewery's afternoon and latenight hours. YES PLS AND THANK YOU. 4. Summertime patio. 5. So chill and comfortable. All the vibes.

Yelp
Excellent local brewery. They have 10 or so taps with a variety of beers and ciders. Cozy environment with outdoor patio and firepit. There is a food truck that serves poboy's which are excellent and you order from inside.

Meatrack M.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and fun crowd! Loved the recommendations from the brewers and fun crowd and atmosphere. Can't wait to visit in the summer months.
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
This is a cool small brewery. There's an area by the bar and cool seating in the back with some couches and coffee tables. The beers were good- I had the amber and would recommend it. Also they have a food truck that opens at 4- such good Mexican food. You order food at the bar and they bring it in for you.
google avatar

Yelp
Wash away any concerns or assumptions associated with Flint's water supply. Tenacity Brewing has implemented a water filtration system that yields perfectly healthy water...and even better beer! Their service behind the bar rivals that of the best micro-breweries I've visited in my travels. Friendly, hospitable, and a great place to hang out - with giant Jenga, beanbags, and a patio fireplace to boot. They offer a range of beers as well as a couple ciders and a non-alcoholic root beer...all of which exceed par for the brewery scene. If you have the opportunity to taste their cherry milk stout, do it. It's smoky, subtle sweet notes pair perfectly with an evening campfire. Skål!

Brent N. S.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere, love being outside by the fire and a great place to meet up and have a few beers

Yelp
Where to begin?! Tenacity is one of my favorite places to eat and drink. Their patio is probably my #1 favorite place to be with friends on a summer evening. There are yard games like giant beer pong, toss across (or "cornhole"), and a huge fire pit. Tons of seating on benches or picnic tables is available, or guests are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs. It's very cozy, as you are surrounded on three sides in the patio/yard area and one side is backed up to the lush, green bank of the river. Dogs are also welcome! They have a beverage to please just about everyone, even non-drinkers or those that don't adventure too far in the craft beer scene. All of their hard ciders and mead style drinks are delicious. They have three options that are non-alcoholic, including a draft root beer and two types of Nitro Cold Brew Coffee - one of them is a creamy latte blend. The coffees can also be served hot. My favorite beer is the Farmers Daughter, which is an IPA. The Vehicle City Taco truck is almost always outside. It serves Po' Boys in the cooler months, and tacos in the warmer months. The Poutine Po' Boy is my favorite sandwich, and the tacos are absolutely gigantic and so fresh. But if you're not feeling it, you can also have food delivered or bring your own. We have had Dominos pizza delivered through the Dominos app. I think the bartender might even have menus from nearby places that you could take a look at. There are often events happening, so keep an eye on their Facebook page and the event calendar near the front door. I've attended History Happy Hour, live music events, and comedy nights at Tenacity.
google avatar

Krissa W.

Yelp
A great first experience! I had the verde nachos from Vehicle City Tacos and the cherry bomb cider. My family tried several of the tacos and raved about them. A cool vibe and quality food and drinks.
google avatar

Sheila M.

Yelp
The atmosphere. The patio. The food truck. The staff. THE BEER. Really, there is nothing bad to say about this hip (but not hipster), funky brew pub. Let's start with the beers, cause that's why we are all here. The Farmer's Daughter IPA is a full-bodied but not too hoppy delight for beginner hop-heads. The Blue Collar Pineapple Saison is notable for its delicate pineapple aroma which enhances the balanced malt and hop, an all-day drinker for sure! Now for the eats. Although Tenacity is not a restaurant, there is a food truck (Vehicle City Tacos) parked behind the building from which a most delicious Po Boy sammich may be ordered. Even if you're not hungry, at least get an order of the Curry fries. Just do it.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Great brewery! Love the ambience-laid back and relaxed place to grab a beer with friends. Critical Stout and Honey IPA are the best! My favorite is Honey IPA, but Blonde Bitch is quickly becoming a serious contender. Some of the new ciders are also exceptional. Beers are rotated regularly, so just because your favorite was on tap last time doesn't guarantee it will be around the next time you stop in. Beer is sold by the glass or by the growler, but flights featuring tiny glasses of individual beers are also available. If you want to try out a beer because you're unsure, they sell sample glasses of any flavor for $1. Reasonable prices (most beers are $6 a pint, but some are more) and a fun, laid-back atmosphere. I love the decor, from the unique light fixtures and high-top tables with "Tenacity" carved into them to the intimate sitting area in the back featuring exposed brick walls and comfy couches and the outdoor beer garden featuring tiki torches and a game of Jenga. There's even a General Store where you can pick up Tenacity-theme clothing, pint glasses and even their famed growler to go! My only gripes are the currently limited days of operation (open three days per week) and limited food menu (coneys), but they do offer a vegetarian hot dog as well. The garlic dill chips are totally addictive. A definite must for any lover of craft beer.

Yelp
Stopped in for some quick tastes to see what it was all about. Tried two beers and two ciders. We inched our way through the line watching the two slowest beer slingers in the West. Finally our time had come and I asked if I could get a few tastes without getting a whole flight. At first he said "yes, but you have to pay for the whole flight" then the bartender who WASNT pounding back beer told him he could charge us the sample price. I also ordered two tacos, he repeated back "two tacos" (the review of the trash food can be found on the trash taco trucks yelp). The beers were palatable but if I had not seen them come from different taps I would believe they were the same beer. The cider recipe needs a lot of work. He brought us our taco. Singular. I said "we ordered two" he said "no you didn't". I'm glad I didn't pay for two because we didn't eat 1/2 of the taco we did get. All in all- awful service, mediocre beer, awful food, cute place with an awkward layout

Yelp
Puppets Friendly and great brews, the tacos burritos and bowls are a great way to satisfy any cravings your stomach might beyond the beverages
google avatar

Yelp
This place rocks. The beer choices are tasty. The prices are very fair. The staff is awesome and they allow dogs in the beer garden. Dogs and brews - what more can you want!!

Yelp
Stopped by to hear a guitar player. Very fun. Lots of outdoor activity bean bags outdoor fire pit and picnic tables. Great food from the Taco Truck. Good time

Yelp
Love this place! We've been coming here for Monday night trivia for over a year and George always makes it a great time! Love the drinks and the taco truck!
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
I liked this place a lot. It's nice to see the area get such a great brewery! I had the strawberry blonde which was really good. My favorite were the ciders! The pineapple mango was delicious, and the Honey Blu Blu was really yummy. It was sweet but not overly or syrupy. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good craft beer in the Flint area.
google avatar

Ben H.

Yelp
Excellent locally owned brewery. Go Flint! Try the Downriver Dunkel or one of the ciders. I have a real taste for the darker ales. The variety is killer and it continually rotates. There's always something new. Recently, I've gotten into craft beers, so this is my new place to hang with my friends and try some new ones. Get a flight if you're unsure of what you might want. Samples are $1. Love the atmosphere. All my friends like chilling here, too. It has TVs on the wall, so we can catch a game, and the background music is usually good, not blaring overhead. It has a cool, chill vibe.
google avatar

Lina B.

Yelp
Good local spot. Variety of beers availability 24/7. Friendly. Events are hosted here often. They have cider. Taco truck outside. Fine in or on their patio. Games available. Fire pit out back. Bathrooms are nice.
google avatar

Destiny B.

Yelp
They usually have really good entertainment and the taco truck is amazing it's just kind of pricey for the food and drinks definitely somewhere I enjoy going but I can't go very often
google avatar

Chioke M.

Yelp
Great beer. Great customer service. I was in Flint for the day and stopped into this brewery. Stopped in for a few growlers to go. My friends and I all concur - amazing beer!!

Zachary C.

Yelp
This was an awesome place to hang out with friends and family and really good food! They also had a nice variety of drinks and beverages that all tasted great! I would definitely come back here again and I love the people here that add on to the great environment!
google avatar

Joshua G.

Yelp
This place is very laid back with great beer and AWESOME tacos. Great atmosphere with outdoor seating and yard games like cornhole bags, but still a rustic space inside. Highly recommend.

Dena P.

Yelp
Great cider and beers. Loved the outdoor seating with party lights, yard games and firepit. Definitely a hidden gem. Taco truck had limited menu. We had two different tacos and nachos. More than enough food for two and only $18 total. Chips are freshly made and toppings are fresh. Tenacity is definitely worth a side trip if you're headed up north or back home. Or live in north oakland co and looking for a nice evening out.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
First time being there and I had a great time. I will be going back. Friendly & love that they play bands and have a fire at night.
google avatar

Davonna W.

Yelp
Cool place. Check out their coloring parties with Flint Handmade. You almost forget you are in a bar there.
google avatar

Shelby H.

Yelp
We went on a Saturday evening so it was quite busy. I probably would have liked it more if we would have went on another day when I could have interacted with the staff more. I ordered a beer flight which consists of 6-4 oz samples of your choice. Most of the beers were good but my faves are ciders and I didn't like theirs. They do not have food but there was a taco food truck there taking orders - it looked good. Hipsters everywhere.
google avatar

Patti A.

Yelp
4 different beers, all great! Little sister pale ale, farmer's daughter, 2nd shift session IPA, cherry milk stout! YUM!
google avatar

Cameron S.

Yelp
I've been here multiple times, and that means something. I love the rise of locally owned business in Flint, and with Michigan having tons of breweries already, it made sense that Flint has one now. The atmosphere is great! Very welcoming staff, and a great selection of beer. I'm a big fan of the Honey IPA! The bartender is awesome and loves people. The experience has always been amazing and I love coming in and am looking forward to the positive impact that the people and the business will have on the future of Flint.

Ryan C.

Yelp
The wifey and I went back to Tenacity last night after visiting a few weeks ago for drinks and food. My wife had Honey Bluh Bluh and should be outlawed because of how good it taste and smooth it goes down. I had the strawberry blonde which was good but does not compare to the Honey. Trust me, the strawberry is definitely worth getting and drinking a few of them. We both are from the Taco truck (name escapes me, Vehicle City Taco?). My wife had two cluckers and I had the California burrito. The burrito was huge and had a ton of flavor. Fries, meat, beans, and a ton of other stuff which made it amazing. My wife has had the cluckers before and always buys them at the Flint Farmers Market ( if your reading this and have never been to the Farmers market in Flint, you are missing out. The place is amazing!). We will definitely be back to Tenacity in the near future.
