tendergreens... fresh delicious salads and tasty fish. would give five stars but they changed the menu and no longer serve the salmon bowl with the purple potatoes... that one was my favorite. the rest are good too, just not as good. we ordered a Thai inspired bowl, the Pacific bowl, and the longevity bowl.

I wanted to like this place. I had visited their Glendale location once a year ago before they closed down. And to my delight, the food there was good, tasty and affordable. But, as I said, they closed that location down. The only thing I didn’t like about the Glendale location is that they accept credit card payments only. Personally, I think it’s wrong for any restaurants in the United States not to accept cash from cash carrying people. But this is another topic for discussion at another time. Now as to the Pasadena location. I’ve driven by this tender greens numerous times on Colorado Boulevard without ever having noticed them, until one day I noticed them. So I made a mental note to come back and have a late lunch, which happened a few days ago To my surprise and disappointment, the chicken cob salad was subpar, served with black spots on the avocado, chicken chunks that I couldn’t fork and some other unrecognizable pieces that were just as hard to chew. This got me thinking as to why some of the chicken chunks were rock hard and others were tender. Then it dawned on me that was after 3 o’clock and maybe I was being served leftovers essentially. ( note the heat lamps over the meat section) Nothing was cooked fresh as they appear to cook some things in advance, particularly when they’re busy during pre-lunch hour, etc.. Oh, and another thing, I ordered the vegetable platter which had five different vegetables and appeared to be grilled cooked. If you check out the pictures, I think you would agree they over grill cooked the vegetables! Lot of charcoal edges everywhere and I didn’t finish the meal. And although I’m giving him only a one star review at this time. To be fair, I will come back on another day much earlier to see if I get a much better result, or if it’s a repeat. Tender Greens in Pasadena is my go-to spot when I want to feel like I’m making responsible adult decisions without actually giving up flavor. The food is great — the grilled chicken tastes like it actually had a happy childhood, the mashed potatoes could solve most emotional problems, and the salads are so fresh they almost guilt-trip you into eating slower. But the ambiance? Let’s just say it feels a little like eating in a very clean DMV. The lighting says “productivity,” not “relax and enjoy your meal,” and the décor is basically beige optimism. Still, the portions are solid, the menu has something for everyone, and you can always take your food to-go and pretend you ate in a place with mood lighting. Overall: great food, vibes under construction.

Moctezuma is a courteous, observant and considerate employee. I also give a kind shout out to the onsite manager today, November 28, 2025, at 3pm. I give a FIVE STAR rating for Montezuma’s workability and hospitable demeanor. This rating does not reflect the overall perceived quality and performance level of staffing, foods, bathroom facilities, supplies, restocking and inventory -- as the ratings "5 Stars" more often than not (for this location) is “three stars” or below. I'm sure you will enjoy your dine-in and take-out experience more if Moctezuma and other like minded individuals who work here. Hopefully, Moctezuma is on the clock. Ask for him.

Haven’t been here in awhile but it hasn’t changed (in a good way). Parking is the difficult part but there is plenty of seating inside. It’s clean and inviting inside. I like the lighting and always love their decor! I usually get their steak but this time got the Falafel and it was good! I especially liked the garlic sauce. It was a perfect environment for catching up with my friend for a few hours.

I had the pineapple basil lemonade with the tuna nicoise today. It is just as delicious as I remembered it but the portion is down by at least 30%. Couldn’t really taste the basil in the lemonade. Need to work on consistency.

I love their food! It’s healthy, but tastes good at the same time! I like the Chef’s special! Always on point with their menu! I enjoy their Hibiscus tea as well! Drinks that are not alcohol is refillable. Even their sparkling water is free! Get your drinks in a to go cup.

One of the dishes we ordered was the shrimp plate. The shrimp came out with blackened edges and looked burned. Also it took a very long time to get our order. A group that ordered two parties behind us in line got their order delivered 10 to 15 minutes before us. The rest of our orders were well prepared and tasted good.

This is my second visit to Tender Greens in Pasadena. Both times, I ordered something with salmon because I love salmon. Concept is simple and easy as shown below. Pick one protein Pick one green Pick one side For my most recent lunch, I went with the Pacific w/ Grilled Salmon that comes with sushi rice, miso mayo, pickled cucumber, carrots, mizuna, sesame, and ginger dressing. Yes, give me everything! A whole avocado would have been a nice addition to this bowl. Nevertheless, it was so delicious and tasty!! Staff was nice and pleasant. Atmosphere is open and spacious. Great dine-in seating available. They can get super busy during lunch so come here early. Parking may be limited. Any offering of healthy and delicious meals is a WIN in my book. Go Tender Greens! It's been a hot minute since I've had tender greens, probably about 2-3 years, some things remained the same and some different. Food - My go to has always been the plate with the crispy fried chicken with mashed potatoes and baby spinach. This time around it seems like the breading is different - it's not as crispy, and a little bit sad - still tastes decent though, but wasn't how I remembered it Service - The Pasadena crew is phenomenal- very friendly, helpful, and fast. I'm always impressed with their service here.

Healthy food choices. Pasadena area. I got the Plates--Seared Tuna (which is raw) and 2 sides (seasoned vegetables and Mac & cheese). The seasoned vegetables were really good. Mac and cheese wasn't that good. Seared tuna was ok. The Roasted Tomato Soup was ok too. I would have liked it creamier. Sundays, the street parking is free even though there is metered parking. However, just make sure and check. Clean tables when we went. There are restrooms.

I honestly love this place. Quick, healthy(ish) meals with macros. Their bowls are my favorite. The steak Thai bowl is filling and really tasty. Maybe a bit on the pricier side but I feel like prices are comparable to anywhere else.

Very accommodating! There was a miscommunication with our order and the manager was helpful in placing the order for us. The restaurant was clean. We had about 12-15 orders and it took about 40 min. I picked up in person and was able to see them assemble and pack our orders. I appreciated that the orders were all correct and they labeled it by names. I recommend for catering. Food is delicious and fresh tasting.

Pretty much everything about this place exceeds expectations. The lighting is warm, the seating is comfortable, the service is on point, and the flavor and quality of the food is excellent. Now add to that about a $20 price point for most entrées which is incredibly reasonable and you get five stars from me. Both the grilled salmon plate and the grilled steak plate were excellent, although I preferred the salmon by a slim margin.

The manager, Ally, was very attentive and wonderful to our large group. Great customer service on top of the delicious food!! Thank you!!

This review is only based on my TOGO experience. The steak was cooked medium rare. And it was not overcooked like other places! It was well seasoned. It was pricey, $20 with tax but definitely worth my money because it was healthy and cooked to perfection. The crispy potatoes were just potatoes cut into pieces and deep fried, seasoned with salt. I gave it one star off because the bread was extremely hard to bite. Maybe it's meant to be consumed differently? I'm asian. I don't know what to eat that with other than by itself. Would come back.

The food overall was good . My burger was interesting . Someone in the back started ringing us up and then a guy took over so the girl in the back said it came with potatoes, but the guy said would you like to add something so I'm not really sure what it comes with. We asked about Chardonnay, If he could describe the difference is he said no he laughed and says I just sell it . I like the outside seating . I probably wouldn't go back to eat there.. parking on streets in front and on side streets

Tender greens impresses me! The food is really good! So far I've had the salmon salad and the Thai steak bowl. The salmon is cooked consistently well and always tastes fresh. I love the variety included in this salad: Papaya, avocado, sesame seeds, and more. Everything works so well together and the dressing is really nice too. I skip the thicker one. And the bread included is BOMB! The Thai bowl is sooo good! Sticky rice with dried coconut, perfectly cooked steak, with a salad of papaya, cabbage, carrots, and a sweet Asian style dressing. Everything is soo fresh and sliced perfectly thin. Flavors and textures work pretty well together. A meal runs around $20ish after tax but I feel it is really worth the quality, nutritious meal you get here.

**delivery review only ** I had Tender Greens for the first time as I am newly on a low carb/keto diet and heard about how inclusive and healthy this place can be! My partner and I used GrubHub and appreciated the many options to customize your food, such as making a burger protein style (sub buns for lettuce), removing ingredients, etc. Our food was delivered very fast and packaged well. I got the Harvest Chicken salad and my partner got the Burger protein style (no bread). It was all very tasty and fit into our diet! Very tasty and we definitely will order from here again!

Arrived for an early dinner at 4:45 PM on Tuesday with a friend for first time visit. We wanted to eat a healthy salad. We were not disappointed with the salmon plate with two sides ( Roasted vegetables and arugula or baby greens salad). The salmon was cooked just right and the salads with appropriate dressing. The variety of roasted vegetables were fresh and nicely seasoned. Service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed so we were able to eat leisurely and chat.

I have always loved tender greens and appreciated how fresh the food tastes! Never feels like it has unnecessary oils or cooked poorly. I'm so sad about the pasta pearl salad being taken away from the menu! The food is great and the service is always fantastic. This time they did forget to give us the bread but it's okay. The waiter ended up giving us a free cookie out of the kindness of his heart it was very much appreciated and very sweet! We'll always come back

Came here for a date night after having a great experience at the Glendale location but saw that it had closed down. The Pasadena location was kind enough to honor the 25% of coupon I had for the Glendale location. Pros: -cute place -clean -LOVE the longevity bowl, but it was not very consistent with the one I got at the Glendale location -boyfriend also felt his Happy Vegan bowl was quite different than Glendale Cons: -seemed a bit unorganized and chaotic for the staff handling online orders/tables -we had to go to the counter to ask for our side of crispy potatoes that were apparently ready but cold by the time we got it -side of seasonal veggies was not worth $4.50 Overall I hope they can get it together behind the counter and that people will come here! I don't want this location to close too!

I usually rate this Restaurant & location a 5/5. I order every 2 months when I come to my hair appointment and they never disappoint on the Chicken Katsu Plate & Sea Salt Caramel cookie. However, this time it was not good at all. The panko crust was soggy & falling off, whilst the chicken meat was rubbery. The first picture is how it normally looks, crispy and delectable. The second picture is the what I received today. The cookie is our favorite but this time there was no caramel pieces nor salt, just white chocolate. Really disappointing because this is the meal I crave & get every time I'm in Pasadena. Any accommodations would be appreciated!

My favorite Tender Greens location by far. I've been coming here for over 11 years now. Friendly folks behind the counter and consistently good food whenever I get it (whether in person or delivery).

Ordered lunch for my family and my daughter didn't receive her meal. Tender Greens blamed it on the Grub Hub driver yet they are the ones that packaged the food with stickers to close the bags. Why would a driver reopen to check everything? The food was (hopefully) packed with sterile food preparations. A driver likely doesn't carry gloves. Instead of making it right and delivering the missing item, Tender Greens staff took down my number and said the manager, who was "too busy" to talk to me would refund that item. The food is fine though the sandwiches were very small for $15. Definitely not worth spending $160 for a family of 6 for lunch and still missing items. Horrible customer service. We won't be ordering agains.

I saw the Sea Bass advertised on a sign in store and was intrigued so I ordered it. Would not recommend. I'm an avid fisherman so I'd like to believe I know my fish. In any case as you can see the portion of the supposed Sea Bass was significantly smaller than the Salmon (which isn't hearty to begin with). But if you are expecting Chilean Sea Bass (aka Peruvian Toothfish) don't order it as you'll only be disappointed. I'm pretty confident it's Striped Bass based upon taste and flakes of meat. Skin was charred so I couldn't tell for sure however. based upon the filet size, it wasn't a big fish to begin with and thus that's why I suspect it is Striped bass.

I just received my order 6-25-25, it was a tuna Niçoise a la maggots! Never coming back to this branch or any other branch!!

It's been a long while and decided to drop in for a visit. I went with my go-to Chicken plate with a side of Romaine Caesar Salad & Mashed Potatoes and it was as good as it was before the COVID years! They were very generous with the side portions. I was happy to see Tender Greens busy during the lunch hour. Service was excellent! This location is my new favorite and will definitely be dropping in more frequently.

Been to Tender Greens with coworkers a few times. Each time I am sad that this is where the others chose to eat. I never want to sit inside because it just seems depressing to me in there, so we sit outside and battle with the wind. Each time we go there is something wrong with at least one meal (incorrect alteration, is cold when it should be hot, etc.). We have yet to encounter a polite employee - they all seem like they would rather be anywhere else. When I have asked questions about menu items or possible alterations, I usually get exasperated responses. I go when it is what someone chooses, but I never select it when it is my turn to pick the lunch spot.

Tasted very nice however I will say, They forgot my bread and gravy. As well as the salmon portion is not worth $20. Typically they are well but seem understaffed. Poor cashier was doing it all! Super sweet when I mentioned the bread and gravy! Everyone had a great attitude.

I was hoping the salmon will be bigger, but everything else would be. You still have the mashed potatoes really good. The atmosphere is clean. The employees were really nice. I appreciate it. The customer service.

What happened to Tender Greens?? The place is always empty and the food quality has declined. This is my $12 sandwich. Why would anyone think it's ok to serve a sandwich with bread burnt this badly? Disappointing

Good to be back at Tender Greens. The last time we came was some time during or after the pandemic, when restaurants had to create their make shift outdoor eating areas. Fast forward to today, the vibe and design of the indoor eating is relaxing, very social, comfortable and relaxing. Today we had some of the best salads Tender Green had on the menu. All three were uniquely prepared, organic, delicious and fresh. No complaints. Just take a look at the pictures. The service was great, our server was also the attendant at the counter. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Truly felt comfortable and welcomed at the restaurant. Not that many people were eating in, mostly a lot of pick up orders, Uber Eats and such. Perhaps people forgot how great it is to get out, get away from the computer and take a relaxing lunch break. Come on out and enjoy Tender Greens!

I used to get take out from here every once in a blue moon and it's usually really good. I would get the steak with mashed potato or some sort of green thing. This time, The steak was not medium rare. It was more medium well. There wasn't even any bloody juice on the bottom for mashed potato and gravy I prefer just the mashed potato by itself. Not sure why but I'm not a fan if the gravy. I always thought baby arugula was supposed to be sweet but when I got it, it was kind if bitter. Which is very disappointing because I don't eat veges and I like baby arugula.

Food quality and taste have been great and consistent these past few years, glad they got back on track.

With all the holiday treats and fast food options, I wanted something that doesn't have a barcode, or deep fried. Tender Greens felt like the best option and thank goodness it was open a little later than expected on a Sunday night. One thing I need to remind myself constantly (I should have it tattooed on my forehead): Dressing on the side. My salad was delicious, but I prefer to taste the individual vegetables instead of it tasting like only the dressing. The service was friendly and the seating was clean and tidy.

Tender Greens was a stop I made in Pasadena. My experience fell just short of 5 stars, and I'll explain below. - The Food: I ordered the seared tuna with seasonal veggies and arugula for sides. The presentation was great, but I found the tuna cut too thick. This could just be a personal preference, but I would have liked the tuna cut into smaller pieces where you can have more of the searing per bite, rather than a big, thick portion of raw fish to chew on. The veggies were delicious, and my salad was dressed perfectly. - The Service: I went as soon as they opened, and though the girl was nice, I did not get much other interaction from the staff. -The Ambiance: The place was very quiet, the decor was nice, but it needed something extra, maybe some soft music playing in the background to break the silence. Overall, I can see this place turning out some good healthy dishes, and I commend them for that. I will definitely return and give a different dish a try.

Great food coupled with friendly staff. One of my favorite places to go for the whole family. The tuna Niçoise salad is the best I've ever had.

It's dying. Fried chicken tasted re-heated 3 times. Lettuce brown and wilted they forgot to include the bread. Used to be my favorite place. Knife has a hard time cutting through the rubber chicken. Got it to go otherwise would have asked for my money back. They don't care or on their way out. Won't be back. Twice now I have had an awful meal. Fried chicken terrible and could not cut through it.

Had a salmon Salad. Salmon was 80% grey color. Yes, it's normal to have SOME gray color on salmon steak directly under the skin. BUT THIS WAS about 80% (chunk) of the 1/2 piece of the salmon on the salad. I took my concern to the Manager and she was very polite and immediately offered me something else. I did not want anything else, I informed her the salmon was bad and the salad had no taste. I did not want anything else nor my money back. Also the salt pepper shaker was totally blocked and we could not get it to work on the tasteless food. The couple beside us was having the same problem with the shakers. My friend ordered a chicken salad and did not find it appetizing at all, as she just took a few bites and stopped eating. I did stopped as well but did take my complaint to the manager. The food was tasteless and my salmon was of poor quality as noted above. I will not be returning.

Tender Greens in Pasadena is a good spot for lunch, and while the food is undoubtedly good, I can't deny it comes with a bit of a price tag. However, the quality and healthiness make it worthwhile. This location tends to get bustling, and waiting times can stretch a bit, so I've found that ordering through the app is the way to go. Sometimes though it may take a while for someone to acknowledge you while you wait in the area to pick up your meal. While I typically stick to the salmon or steak, I recently ventured into the fried chicken sandwich territory, and it turned out to be a tasty surprise. Despite the occasional wait, Tender Greens always manages to turn my hunger into happiness. From the sizzle of steak to the crunch of the fried chicken sandwich!

I have a thing for the grilled chicken Cobb salad which consists of blue cheese, bacon, egg, avocado, cherry tomatoes, romaine, tarragon dressing. What a mixture! The chicken breast meat slices are pretty thick but quite flavorful.

Very good food but it has been getting a little worse in terms of quality and offerings over the years. Overall, very good but I wish they added some new delicious items.

Placed an online order at 8pm. Arrived at 8:30pm for my order but their doors were closed. I had to call them so they can open the doors for me. When I gave them my name for the order, they had handed it out to the wrong person. That's fine. I thought they were going to make it again for me but I was just standing around and had to ask if someone was going to make it for me and the cashier said i don't know let me ask.

This place used to be my go-to spot for a quick healthy meal pre-pandemic, but after coming here for dinner, I'm sad to see that quality went downhill. First, pricing went up. It's no surprise since inflation happened. I always grabbed the steak plate, and the steak was overcooked. They're known to prepare their steak medium to medium rare, but my steak came out to be medium - well to well done. Sadly, all the steak pieces were like that, so I didn't bother to exchange it. The mashed potatoes tasted earthy in a bad way. It has a dirt aftertaste to it. This was super disappointing since I loved Yukon mashes potatoes. Guess I won't be coming back anytime soon.

Great service and staff! Ordered a large catering order for Thanksgiving and Kendrick, the general manager, made sure everything was exactly as I requested. Food was delicious, and very reasonably priced.

I came here on a Saturday at 7:10pm trying to order food Togo. I even went as far as to stopping by target to pass time. I came back at around 7:40pm, and they still didn't even start making the food. I know they didn't start making my food yet because they said when I left, they ran out of the salad I wanted and to choice something else. In addition, when I asked how much longer it would take, Amy the manager, said they're only waiting on the salmon. The annoying part was that I only ordered salmon, lettuce, and mashed potatoes. (Since this is a Togo order, they didn't even have to mix the lettuce with dressing). The people who ordered after us already got their food. By 8pm is when I finally received my food in hand. I have a feeling they forgot about my order because they didn't even start making the salmon I ordered until I asked for my food around 7:40pm. What is most frustrating is that they didn't even have 2/3 of the items I initially ordered. Although this experience was a nightmare, Mounir was very helpful and tried to levitate the problem. The manager, Amy on the other hand was unhelpful, unapologetic, and didn't do anything except pace around the kitchen trying to avoid confrontation. In summary, I would not recommend coming here if Amy is running the restaurant that day. You will not get your food within an hour of ordering. **add on after I came home I originally ordered romaine hearts. Since they ran out of that and the baby greens, I told them it is fine if they gave me kale or spinach. I specifically said NO Arugula because I am ALLERGIC TO IT. When I came home with the Togo order, I noticed they gave me a WHOLE CONTAINER OF ARUGULA. I wasted my money, time, and gas to drive all the way to Pasadena for food I cannot eat. We specifically told Amy we wanted Kale.

This place is so good. Everything (and I mean everything) has flavor. Went here with some friends after a long day and got the chicken pesto sandwich with veggies on the side. Bomb. Amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Mash potatoes are buttery and plenty! Beef looked amazing. Will be going back for more! Workers were sweet even though we were there late. Very patient and attentive. Place was spacious and clean.

Times have changed. I wish they would bring back the old way of ordering of serving, similar to ordering at Chipotle. The good news is the food seems to still be on par to how it was prior to Covid. Sometimes a bit too oily and salty, but not always too concerning. The customers are still flowing in, in packs, during lunch and dinner hours. My concern is the wait. I've ordered 3 times now on the app, and each time, my order is not ready by the pick up time. This last visit, I waited 20minutes past, and they forgot to prepare an item, so I had to wait again. I can only imagine Food delivery individuals having to wait.

I went to this location for the first time in a couple of months, and understood why I NEVER COME TO THIS LOCATION. The day shift of waiters and cooks are slow, and take their time walking to and fro serving the food. I was the first person in line, and it took 5 minutes to place my order! How ridiculous is that! Two groups of people went to the other cashier and received their food 20 minutes before I received mine, even though I ordered first! The food is decent and filling, but the waits are insane. Get some proactive workers who actually enjoy their jobs! My review is purely based on the service. I highly recommend the food for some fresh and heathy cravings.

This place just goes above and beyond in every aspect! The service is always amazing. My husband and I just went in to get food after a long hard day, and the manager Alison was an absolute joy. She was so kind and professional, she turned our day around completely. Not only is the staff a pleasure, the food absolutely delicious. I'll definitely be going back on the regular!!

I had a great meal at Tender Greens this evening: the salmon plate with arugula and farro as sides. I also loved my agua fresca. Both of my dining companions had the shrimp bowl, and both complained that it was a bit too spicy, and that they hadn't been given a choice about the level of spiciness. Ordering was a little confusing - why have us look at the whole food prep area if we don't order first? There weren't any tables for more than two people available, so we moved some tables together. I've been here many times before, and it's always fine.

Service was quick and nice. The employees were very attentive. The restaurant has a chill vibe and there is lots of tables available. The food was good but i did find some tomatoes that were fully cooked which is why I am rating it 4/5. Would definitely try again.

I ordered a salad from tender greens and I asked for a piece of bread and I paid for that and some extra avocado. I got a piece of bread that was 2 inches by an inch and a half and two little tiny slices of avocado for two dollars that is ridiculous. If I had ordered this in person, they would never have been that stingy because they didn't have to see me they gave me crappy service
