Why is Tender Greens rated so low? It's absolutely delicious! In my experience, chains are oftentimes rated lower, though this number doesn't necessarily always reflect the quality of the food nor service.
This Tender Greens, at least, was a great dining experience. You essentially order at the counter, wait for your order to be prepared, then pick up your food. They have seating inside and outside, too! The interior is pretty nice and open. That being said, the outside is also nice, as this Tender Greens establishment is situated in an outdoor mall. This makes the location super convenient--you can do some shopping and then stop by for lunch! (That's what we did!)
I ordered a plate, and I would highly recommend this option, as it lets you pick and choose what you would like. I got the Selva Shrimp, Romaine Hearts (Caesar salad), and seasonal vegetables. It comes with a piece of bread! To be honest, I didn't like the bread--it was kind of tough. That being said, the protein was seasoned very nicely, and the vegetables were super fresh. Pro tip: ask for light dressing OR dressing on the side. I really recommend the seasonal vegetables, as the carrots were roasted beautifully (and this is coming from someone who doesn't like carrots). The tomato soup is also good and creamy!
After eating, Tender Greens doesn't leave you feeling heavy or sluggish. It's a meal that fills you up for hours and without any guilt. Everything here is delicious, and it's an extra added benefit that's it's healthy and good for you! I always forget how much I like Tender Greens, but every time I go, I'm reminded that I need to come more often.
