Google
I wanted something healthy for lunch and this mostly accomplished that goal. I had the salmon salad, maybe I misread the menu but it seemed fried and I was expecting something like fire-grilled, but it was quite tasty. The vegetables and flavorful, and the dressing was good too.

William Stewart

Google
A good health option. Personally I'd have preferred the potatoes a little softer. The smaller ones were perfect. The steak had a good flavor that wasn't over bearing and the romaine with dressing was light and perfect.

Cheryl White

Google
We prefer dining at this location even though we are closer to the Mission Valley area. Food is always well made, tastes great. The lines and the wait are never too long.

Duke Nduka

Google
Overall, this restaurant offers a fantastic selection of delicious options. The ambiance is inviting, and every dish is fresh and flavorful. For those who are health-conscious, there are plenty of wholesome choices on the menu. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
I normally get the steak plate and love it but I wanted to try something different today so I got the short rib plate. Unfortunately I didn't really like the short ribs. It was too salty and there were a lot of dry hard bits. Also get there was a little too much sauce over my potatoes. Disappointed in the food but the weather today was great so I still had a lovely lunch sitting outside.

Chris Rumsey

Google
Came for lunch, I had a vegetable platter and my companion had a burger. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and tender. Sides were decent, and the burger was juicy. Many good vegetarian options as well

Google
Juan de dios is the best! He always remembers my daughter and is extremely kind. Such a good staff and the food is great! Friendly and willing to adapt to allergies/preferences. Love this place! A staple in our family. Thanks Juan!

Google
The food is good, however the menu never changes. You can only eat miniature portions of salmon for so long. A bit pricey for what you actually get. Very easy to spend $40 on 2 meals hand still leave hungry.

Yelp
Health food. Expensive, but that's the price you pay for health. Good seating area, fast casual. Please change your disposable fork supplier though. Broke apart in my mouth lol.

Yelp
I go to UTC on occasion a few times a year. While there I was headed to the food court and of course Tender Greens is just outside of the food court. Sometime back I received a mailing from them and checked them out online. I was just curious. I have walked by the restaurant a number of times, yesterday was the first time I went in and looked at their menu. I decided on their Longevity Bowl w/ Salmon. After waiting for a while it was delivered to my table. I sat there trying to figure out what everything was. (I should have had some potatoes and rice along with some greens and the salmon). I finally figured out what the red things were, as they appeared to look like beets, but they were the potatoes, just a few slices, I was expecting a nice serving of cut up potatoes with maybe butter on them, I have no idea what the red was which the few pieces I got were. The I couldn't figure what the rice was, as all blackened and didn't even taste like rice. I was very disappointed about that. When I order rice, I expect just that, not come concoction of rice they have tortured to death, it didn't even taste like rice, nor did the potatoes. The greens are what some rabbit would eat, not any human. (Do these people know what Panera is and even how to make a salad?) Now to the salmon, which still had the skin on it and I was wondering if it was cooked long enough, again didn't even taste like salmon. (have these people ever gone to Pick Up Stix restaurant??? where the salmon actually looks like salmon and tastes like salmon???) This wasn't food, I don't know what it was. I won't be back. The only reason I didn't ask for my money back was because I was in a hurry and only a short time to eat.

Yelp
I thought my meal here was pretty standard and comparable to a cafeteria meal. I appreciate that tender greens uses fresh ingredients and has healthy options. We all chose to get plates, in which you select a main and two sides. I got the barbecue chicken, which I thought was flavorful on the outside but pretty dry. I also got the mixed veggies and spinach salad as my side. Although there are a good amount of options, here, nothing really blew our socks off. The best thing here is probably the bread, which is grilled and features oil, or some sort of butter. Given the experience, I probably would not come back anytime soon. I much prefer sweetgreen.

Yelp
I came here for a late lunch on a Saturday after catching a ride on a Greyhound bus. I ordered their grilled steak plate with baby greens and roasted potatoes as my 2 sides. Since I had just recently created my rewards account, I was able to cash in my reward for a free iced black tea. After paying for my food, I was given a number to place at my table. Once my food was ready, it was brought out to my table. Everything tasted very fresh and delicious. Good stuff! Everyone that I had interacted with during my visit were all very nice and friendly. It was a good casual dining spot at the Westfield UTC.

Yelp
Came in midweek during lunch hour and it was dead. Kinda weird but I'll take it. There was no line so ordered right away. The place is super clean, despite the normally high volume. Food came out quick. The salad was great. Idk if I would call the tuna "seared" but no complaints I still ate it. The tomato soup tasted like tomato flavored water. Just so runny bland and underwhelming. Had a few spoons and gave up.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stop here the other day while shopping at UTC. It was maybe 18 bucks including tip, so not cheap but not wild considering it's 2024/inflation lol. The Mac and Cheese was tasty. It's a new item for them. Overall, enjoyed the flavors, portion size, and quality. I would go back if at UTC mall. A little bit of a wait for food to come out, but they did bring it out to me at my table and I enjoyed it.

Yelp
Tender Greens is a quick and casual restaurant. You need to walk down to the registers to order your food at the counter. And if you are eating there, remember to grab your utensils at the utensils table. They won't bring out utensils for you. There is not much service. The food is a bit pricier for the portions you get. I paid $32 for the Thai Steak bowl, with carrot cake, and the greens juice. The carrot cake was much smaller/thinner than I remembered, it used to have more cake to it. The Greens Juice had a lot of ice so I finished it before the food even came. The rice is improving. I like the coconut rice of the Thai bowl. A lot of the time the rice is a little mushy. They give like two scoops of rice. I will come here again since the food comes out quick and they have healthier options. I just wish it was better value (better prices, portions, or service).

Yelp
Tried Tender Greens at the UTC Mall for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were friendly. Food came out relatively quick. And there's ample indoor and outdoor seating for you to sit down and enjoy your meal. I tried the chicken pesto sandwich, it was good, but the bread was a bit saturated, a little too oily for me. Price is reasonable. Also one star off for cleanliness. The tables were dirty and the ground had napkins and other crumbs. We had to clean our own tables to get a seat. But to be fair, there was only one person delivering food to the customers, and that same person was bussing the tables. Perhaps in the future, they could hire one more person to help out.

Yelp
This is a review ONLY of the kid's plate to go. Three pieces of chicken, side of mashed potatoes, strawberries, and choice of water/juice for $8. My daughter thought the food was okay. I haven't been to TG in a long time. Wonder if it's just at this location or all locations, but you no longer do you stand in line "cafeteria style" while the food is being served to you to pay at the end. Instead you order, pay, get a number, and the food is delivered to your table. This TG is located right at the entrance of the foodcourt/ice rink at UTC Westfield mall -- it's green so you can't miss it! Both indoor and outdoor seating available.

Yelp
Tender greens is a nice place to get lunch with friends or coworkers! They have a lot of seating - both indoors and outdoors. I like their BYO plates because it allows me to try a new combo each time. Their BBQ chicken was surprisingly juicy, and their mashed potatoes are really creamy! I didn't like how much dressing was in my thai bowl, but maybe I could get it on the side next time. Overall, pretty good with quick service!

Yelp
I've been here twice and both times the experience was awesome! The restaurant is clean and spacious. The staff are very friendly and helpful! The Pacific bowl with grilled salmon, sushi rice, spicy miso mayo, pickled cucumber, carrots, greens, sesame, ginger dressing is amazing! The salmon is buttery tasting and cooked perfect both times a I had it. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The portion size is perfect! Next time I'll try the California bowl with grilled salmon, seasonal vegetable salsa, brown rice, cabbage slaw, queso fresco, pepitas, lime crema
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great. And the grilled chicken cobb salad was delicious! My favorite salad so far. The restaurant was very clean. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
WE HAVE A LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP I hate eating healthy but I love to when I come here. I hate paying over $10 for a salad but I love a $10(+) salad when I come here. They changed up their menu. I spy chicken sandwiches, rice bowls, etc. Oh, that's great and all but that takes away the "tender greens". My usual order would be kale salad with the lemon vinegarette dressing with salami. But they chucked that off the menu several years back. Then my order would be the steak plate (salad and steak) but now these plates includes a third side like mash potatoes. Now, I go for some greens and protein. Keep it simple. Side Salad and side steak. And some green juice. Still love the place.

Lori W.

Yelp
Food is fresh. Good variety and healthy choices. Great service. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Jane D.

Yelp
I had to go up and ask for the drink and bread i ordered and when our food came it was cold. Don't eat here unless u have extra time to waste

Amy S.

Yelp
Dirty restrooms and poor quality of service. After waiting for an hour we had to cancel our order. The staff didn't know what they do.
google avatar

Andy H.

Yelp
Solid food at a good price for this mall. Everything is made on the spot. I have tried pretty much every single protein on their menu and everything tastes great. This will end up being my go-to going forward as their Del Mar/One Paseo location closed down as of 2024. Service is always friendly and there are usually enough tables for people who want to eat inside (plenty of space outside).
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
very long wait as usual and the accuracy of orders has gone down. I never had this problem before, but this time both my order and my friend's were wrong. my friend got the steak plate medium rare but it came out well done, and instead of the baby greens that he asked for he got romaine salad. I asked for a kale salad on the side of mine and they gave me spinach. everything else is fine, just the accuracy and how slow the workers respond and react to a customer in the store needs to improve.
google avatar

Yelp
Tender greens and urban plates had recently released chicken sandwiches and I had heard good things about both places, so I decided to go try them both out. Tender greens by far has a better chicken sandwich compared to urban plates and honestly it might apply to food quality in general. I had to wait a little while to get my food from here because every chicken sandwich is made to order. The wait is 100% worth it. The sandwich is juicy, the sauce and slaw are amazing. I know it's an unorthodox order for tender greens but I recommend at least trying it out.

Yelp
I ordered catering from here for a company party. The food was good but the order was incorrect. Half the meat from the 2 large entrees i ordered were missing, and the wrong sides were provided. I scheduled pickup for 11am but it wasn't ready until 11:30. I initially was not going to leave a review since the food that we did receive was great and the staff was friendly. However, I've since emailed them twice now for an invoice of my order so I can expense it to the company account. They refuse to respond. I'm now out $1200 because they refuse to provide the invoice

Yelp
This is a great place with healthy food, everything is always delicious, it's clean and the workers are nice. I went there 1/8/24 and ordered the seared tuna. The tuna looked raw to me. I asked for a refund for the tuna portion and the worker gave me a full refund. She had explained that the tuna always looks like that. It probably does, I just expected it to look different and I'm careful about meat because I am experiencing a sensitive stomach, so I didn't want to try it. I appreciate the worker being nice and gracious. Thank you.

Yelp
My office is across the street from the mall so we come here fairly regularly and I have never left disappointed, especially when Hani is working. He makes sure every guest is taken care of and hair brings an all around positive energy to the place. As long as he's here I'll be coming back. The steak and ahi are what I usually get and they are both delicious.
google avatar

King R.

Yelp
This is the first place I ate in San Diego after some very expensive shopping at the mall. I chose the longevity bowl with roasted maitaike mushrooms and I must say that it was "Yoga Flames" ! The servers were also very sweet and provided me with a complimentary glass of chill red wine while I took shelter from the downpour of hail and heavy rain. It was so epic!
google avatar

Phuong D.

Yelp
Don't order food from here via Postmates. I got no potatoes and no bread. My $20 dollars lunch was just steak and the smallest, saddest salad I've ever seen.
google avatar

Dean B.

Yelp
I first had Tender Greens at the Santa Monica promenade. Ever since I have been in love with this place. My favorite is the ahi tuna, but you can't go wrong with the other items. Every entree is fresh, healthy and superbly prepared.

Yelp
No, never again. I've been a fan of this place since they 1st opened in this location. Recently started ordering the falafel plate. Very inconsistent on the quantity- sometimes 4 falafels(GREAT!!) sometimes 3 and sometimes 2 (wtf?!?). The sides are OK on the portions- like actually getting a good size serving of the salad and veggies. Last visit a literal empty corn cob tail was on my plate- COME ON do some quality checks. Who wants what equates to trash on their plate, booo. The fact is that the last 5 visits have been horrendous. I don't usually give multiple chances, but again I have been a fan since the beginning. I do think I am however DONE with this location. I'll just stick to Del Mar where at least they don't serve an empty corn cob piece and try to pass it as "veggies". Good Bye Tender Greens UTC * just take note and do better so you don't lose more long time customers. Also with the addition of newer eateries you should be stepping it up!

Yelp
We have been coming to this location for at least 6-7 years when we make the trip over to the San Diego/LA Jolla area. The patio is great and dog friendly. The place used to be great, great food, great service. Recently (well, Post Plandemic) the service has seriously declined, the quality of the food has declined, and the restaurant interior looks like it needs a good cleaning. Tonight, after waiting 40 minutes on the patio for our order to come out, I finally went in, and waited another 10 minutes to take my order out to the table. By that time, my wife's hot tea was cold, and I had to go back in to get the coffee I ordered, that hadn't been made yet. It seems they are so busy with phone orders and/or door dash orders to take care of the people that are actually dining in the facility. We will be looking for some new places to eat in the area, which is sad, because we have been coming here so long, our oldest dog leads us right to the patio from the moment he gets out of the car at the Westfield UTC mall.

Yelp
My company put in a pretty large order here for lunch. It was ready by the time we choose for pick up. Although all the orders weren't correct , the food was still good. I ordered the sear tuna plate with kale salad and mash potatos. My order was good except they got my salad wrong. The sear tuna was cooked to perfection and the mash potato was really good. I also got a side order of the rustic chicken soup(?) it was okay. For the drinks, I had the pineapple citrus , it was really refreshing !
google avatar

Ivan D.

Yelp
Love the food! The Pacific bowl salmon is the way to go! Service is great and fast! Ambiance is amazing!
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
8:20 on and they say they're not taking orders because they ran out of food.. This is an amateur move so I wouldn't recommend
google avatar

Gade T.

Yelp
I tried their chipotle BBQ chicken with romaine hearts and mashed potatoes. The chicken has a good balance of sweet and smoky flavors. Creamy mashed potatoes are always great. No complaints about service and they have a good amount of seating available inside and outside. Today, I ordered to-go and my order was wrong. One of my sides were wrong and it had cilantro in it, which is the one ingredient that I loathe. Disappointed in today's order, but I'll probably be back to try a different protein.

Anna Z.

Yelp
I have not been to Tender Greens for a long time. It was sadly disappointing. My favorite tuna nicoise was served without quail egg and toasted potatoes. They just forgot to add potatoes to the salad. The portion was much smaller and the dressing was not the same. I used to love this place for casual bite while shopping at the mall.
google avatar

Eugene S.

Yelp
Always great food and atmosphere. Love to go there for lunch with my teammates. That added more options to choose from the menu. This is a huge plus.

Yelp
Tender Greens UTC: A Not So Tender Experience I don't usually write reviews but this experience was just too comical not to share: So I've probably eaten at this tender greens 20+ times, but had not been since the new renovations at the UTC mall. I order the grilled steak med-rare with spinach salad and mashed potatoes, my usual order. Everything tastes pretty good but the steak seemed like it had come out more rare than med rare, and it was just too chewy for my tastes and a bit cold in the middle. After finishing the rest of my food, I bring my plate to the cashier and ask: "Hey is there any way you guys could just throw this back on for a min or two? It's just a little undercooked for me, maybe cook it to medium instead, my bad." Cashier says, sure no problem. I sit back down thinking nothing of it; a common, simple request. Then I hear the manager starting to throw a tantrum, loudly yelling and making a scene, basically cursing me for having caused him the great inconvenience of throwing a piece of meat I already paid for back on the grill for 60-90 seconds. I should mention that the place is empty and still around an hour before closing, so there's just no way that fulfilling this request inconvenienced the normal operations whatsoever. I'm already chuckling to myself when I see the cashier I spoke to earlier approaching with the recooked steak. She literally chucks the plate onto our table and storms off LOL I guess she too was somehow gravely inconvenienced by doing her job. Then I noticed that they took the used silverware I returned with my plate and put it back on top of the recooked meat. A clear, openly disrespectful gesture, and also unsanitary. Obviously I'm not going to eat anything prepared by people holding a grudge over nothing, but my wife was still finishing her food so I sat waiting for her to finish. Somehow boss baby was still seething, and starts off on another tantrum, as if I had personally spit in his face or insulted his cooking, cost him money, or even had any interaction with him whatsoever lol. Not being inclined to argue with children, we left. All I can say to boss baby is: grow up. I didn't ask for a free steak, I didn't say you did anything wrong, I didn't hassle the staff, I politely made a very common request and you still threw a public meltdown tantrum, and then got your poor employee to take out your baby rage on me. I literally made you money and you're crying like a fussy toddler. It was like being on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares where the delusional owner needs to be taught basic common sense by a flabbergasted Gordon Ramsey. Your job is to serve customers. This includes the occasional re-firing of a meal. That you took this personally just shows you aren't ready for the big leagues. Again, grow up and do your job. I think the employee can be forgiven. She was probably chewed out by boss baby and she's young. But boss baby, you're a full grown man acting like a child. You have no excuse. Boss baby really just needs to put the tender back in tender greens, rediscover the passion for reheating food that seems to be missing, and stop having embarrassing public tantrums in front of all his employees. His conduct is clearly rubbing off on the other employees so probably not the best guy to be leading the operation. Management may want to check the local middle school for a more mature/emotionally stable leader. Impulse control in general seems to be an issue at this location. The place was pretty clean though so that was nice.
google avatar

James V.

Yelp
Updating the review because Camilla, the manager here, extended an olive branch and was super nice.

I. W.

Yelp
Great service & great food! Wish they would have other locations besides the malls. Parking can be a lil challenging.
google avatar

Yasmeen E.

Yelp
I enjoy coming here. It's been fairly consistent over the last couple of years. I always get the same thing; grilled steak, baby arugula, and mashed potatoes with the free bread. Their bread used to be so good, but this last time it tasted very bland. That's not a big deal. The quality and taste of the food in general is good and tastes fresh. I also got a mint lemonade which I find a bit too sweet and not enough mint. Overall this is a good option to dine at when you're shopping at UTC.

Yelp
This Tender Greens will always be the place in my heart that converted me to needing salad in my life. It was around 12 years ago when my friend wanted to catch up over dinner and picked this place. Being the youthful college age carnivore, I was like.."what..a SALAD place? cmon really?" Boy was I wrong to say that. After the meal, I was a new man and kale was new my best friend. I would come here often, enjoying the huge plate of veggies sometimes with a "side" of meat. I loved it. Fast forward to today, I understand they rebranded and changed the menu and all but what happened? The kale and arugula seemed to be mixed in together with some yellowed pieces here and there. The portion of veggies and the piece of salmon were miniscule. Even the piece of bread was bigger than the salmon. The salad portion was more like a garnish layer for two cups of salad dressing. I can't justify paying $15 for this. The lady in the kitchen was doing her best, flying around and trying to fulfill the orders and trying to stay cheerful, while everyone else behind the counter just watched her. I get it's the pandemic and all but give the lady some help! She was a champ trying to get through it all. Maybe the portion sizes were due to the new rebranding, or just a busy time but still..you got to take care of your people so they can take care of the customers.

Yelp
The Thai bowl with shrimp was soo good. That was my first visit and I definitely recommend. Service is lacking and not helpful but the food made up for it. I had a story to go along, my friend told the cashier "you're out of forks" she immediately turns and leaves register, goes to back, get handful of forks(silverware) in her bare hands, puts them in the bowl, comes back to register and finished ringing me up
google avatar

Yanin G.

Yelp
This is honestly one of my favorite places to eat at . Customer service is always great and the menu has variety of options for everyone's taste. Prices are great and food is always made to perfection with great seasonings. I also love there fruit & veggies water they make . Definitely a place I recommend all my yelpers to visit if in the area . It does get packed but definitely worth the wait . Keep up the great work cooks , team , & owner/owners .

Yelp
Always come to TenderGreens for quick lunch. As usual, I ordered The Grilled Trout plate with Rustic Kale and Mashed Potato. The plated came out very cold and salted. The fish was undercooked which made me almost thrown up. Instead of apologizing, they started lecturing me that I should've requested for well done next time. Well, I have never been asked before. So I had no clue that there is a new policy. The cashier asking me if there is my first time. I don't think it's matter at all. Waiting 10 minute for redone, but the bread was disappeared after. Do Not Steal My Bread next time.

Alex E.

Yelp
So we like tender greens but the service was terrible. We had to order to go since we needed to get back before traffic hit. We waited 20 minutes for our food but that wasn't the issue, the food was in the bag ready to go and we knew it was ours but wanted to give the workers a chance to give it to us. 3 people looked at the food and the ticket, saw our number in front of them and still didn't give it to us. You'd think they'd give us the food because it was ready but they just let it sit there. I had to go ask them for it and they handed it to me as is, knowing fully that 5 orders that were taken after us went out. We like the food tender greens serves but they need to prioritize better, especially when they have people who ordered to go, disappointing.
google avatar

Priya P.

Yelp
Their food is really good- nice meats and salads. Do think however it's a tad expensive. Normally packed during lunch time depends on the day. Waiters were nice
google avatar

Kelly B.

Yelp
Me and my two daughters ate here, yesterday and two of us got sick. We ate two different items. The service was good. But hopeing sanitary operations are priority. I had a wrap and my daughter had a bowel with shrimp. This was my first time here. But since we ate different items, makes you wonder if contamination is the issue.
google avatar

Marc E.

Yelp
Can I get more meat though? I'm a grown man not an 8 year old boy! Literally 5 little slices of steak! Come on man!

Valerie S.

Yelp
I've been a huge fan of tender greens for many years and was excited to try this location. My daughter and I ordered and there was one booth available but when we went to sit down, it was very sticky and looked dirty. So I asked an employee if he could wipe it off and he said, "Oh it's not dirty. It's always sticky and those are stains"??? So I asked him to wipe it anyway and said he could but it would still be sticky. We were very hungry so I just let it be. Then we each got our meals and the steak was very undercooked. I like it a little rare but this was ridiculous. And while we were eating it was so sticky that my plate was literally stuck to the table. Then we used the bathroom and it was totally dirty and there were no seat covers anywhere to be found. Really shocking and gross. I'm so disappointed to have had this experience as I've always loved the food but this was absolutely unacceptable.

Yelp
100% of the time when I come in here to pick up food for people in my office, it is always late by 15 to 45 minutes. Today I showed up and they told me "oh sorry we have a lot of catering orders and we're behind". It was 10 after 11, 10 minutes after they opened. Those catering orders were in their restaurant, and they just don't put enough people on the floor to handle them. expect you to wait. So she told me would be another 25 minutes. I waited 30 when I came in and guess what? It still wasn't ready. She told me "just another five minutes". It's now 10 minutes later & it is still not available. This happens all the time. And you don't have to have the girls at the front look down their nose at us when we complain that it's taking 45 minutes past the deadline to get our food. You know, just don't lie repeatedly to your customers. Let me repeat, just stop lying to your customers. And don't give us dirty looks when we call you on it.

Yelp
Love tender greens. My go to location was one paseo until it recently closed and would give that one a 5/5 stars. Yesterday was shopping at utc and wanted to get a Thai bowl with salmon--my favorite. Was around 11:15 and went to go in and door was locked but people were inside eating (entering and leaving thru the side patio door). As I went in the side door, I asked the first employee I saw if they knew the front door was locked and he rolled his eyes and said, "yet somehow you got in, didnt you?" I smiled and kept walking figuring it must be a bad day. Went down to order my bowl to go with a 20% tip. This matters because I then took a number and sat and sat and sat some more until all orders were delivered including many that arrived after me. I figured maybe it was bc I ordered salmon. Kept waiting. Then I randomly saw my bowl just sitting on the counter while the two cashiers were chatting and ignoring me. I gave up waiting and walked over and could see my number on the receipt by the bowl. I then asked for a bag and a fork...insert eye roll number two from a different employee. i may give this location another try since I love the food so much but definitely won't default to a tip on a to go order as it clearly isn't for service. Bummer. Happy holidays and hope the staff rest up and learn to smile or unlock doors, or maybe bag the food...

15 mins waiting in line. 20 mins waiting for the food (literally still waiting, so it could be longer). It's not worth it lmaooo.
