I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and highly professional, ensuring that every detail of the service was taken care of. The sushi itself was outstanding—remarkably fresh, expertly prepared, and presented with elegance. Each dish highlighted the quality of the ingredients and the chef’s skill. The atmosphere was pleasant and refined, making the entire dining experience both relaxing and memorable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, high-quality sushi paired with exceptional service.

Google
I had a hankering for ramen, and I found this place. I’m so glad we ate here. It was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere, the staff and the food were all so good. I even loved their lemonade (which apparently has cucumber in it!). We will absolutely be back.

Google
The service is very nice and patient and the food is served at a good speed. The food is delicious and tastes really fresh! I also really like the atmosphere and vibe here. Definitely will come again! I recommend the fried oysters!

Google
This restaurant may be new, but it already feels like a local favorite. The food is fresh, full of flavor, and very fairly priced for the quality you get. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and takeaway is available too. Definitely worth a visit!

Google
Their ramen soup made me want to cry! It had so much depth and flavor without making it too heavy or leaving one with certain after taste. My picture here really does not do it justice. All ramen restaurant chefs need to be sent here for additional training. The omurice was absolutely amazing with the exception of the fried rice underneath. The fried rice was indeed tasting a bit too hard and old. The peppercorn sauce was so silky and delicious. If they would pay more care to the fried rice underneath and refine it somehow, the entire dish would be perfection and unbeatable. The sushi was very good. Their fatty tuna sashimi was not worth $14 a piece, because it didn't give me the melt-in-your-mouth experience. I probably should have listened to the waiter and gotten the sashimi platter instead to just experience two pieces (one person each) of the sashimi and receive more other types of sashimi instead. Nonetheless, the sashimi presentation was beautiful and elegant. The service was great. Everyone was patient, polite, and kind and worked as a team, and we were give their restaurant branding trinkets for free. It was a sweet gesture. This was a huge treat for us visiting from Houston, Texas! Ps. Their bathroom was roomy, contemporary, and clean!! Very impressed!!

Google
The food was decent. We were expecting the Omu rice’s sauce to be more traditional: ketchup or curry or cream-based but here they used the pepper sauce, which I believe it’s their twist. The other appetizers were great but the big shout out goes to their incredible staff and atmosphere! Overall a pleasant experience

Google
The place is brand new and very clean. Food was delicious! They have lunch menu and happy hour menu , and their restrooms are amazing.

Google
Everything was perfect! The food came right on time and was super tasty. Loved the vibe with the music playing — made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back again!

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but this place absolutely deserves the hype--and then some. From the moment we walked in, our server Tony made us feel like regulars, even though it was our first time. The vibe is cozy yet modern, with just the right mix of energy and comfort. Their sushi quality is great and the prices are unbeatable. Would come back again.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 6/5 ??? Ambiance: 5/5 Food: This place's main pull is their ramen, with a rich and fatty base tonkotsu that the other ramen dishes build on. Out of the Tokyo Tonkotsu, Spicy Tonkotsu, and Mega Ramen, I'd have to say that the Tokyo Tonkotsu was my favorite, as its simple yet flavorful broth helped bring out the flavors of the other ingredients more, while the Spicy Tonkotsu and Mega Ramen each had extra items added to their broth that masked those flavors. Specifically, the Spicy had a Szechuan type of spice that was very forward on the palette while the Mega had a very umami garlic broth (neither of these were bad, just not as good as the Tokyo). Other than that, the omurice and the Korean BBQ rice dishes were great, with the omurice being a standout, due to the light sauce perfectly covering the egg, the dish having exquisite presentation, and having a side of crispy chicken or pork. The Korean BBQ rice was also good, both the beef could've used more time on the grill to develop a more charred edge. The drinks we got (they were complimentary), that being the Thai Tea and Lemonade, were both great, with the Thai Tea having a nice balance of sweetness, and the lemonade having a refreshing tartness. Their desserts, including both puddings and a matcha tiramisu, were extremely nice; the pudding had a very bouncy texture and the tiramisu was rich and delicate at the same time. Service: Came here for my mom's birthday, and the servers and staff made sure not to disappoint. All of them were kind and sweet, with some of our orders coming complimentary as a sweet gesture to it being a special occasion. Our server, Wilson, talked about the menu in a concise and informative way, and always made sure that we were content and filled. Ambiance: This place opened up a month ago, and the interior reflects that. The tableware and surrounding atmosphere are extremely modern, with the wood and red stone walls complementing the restaurant nicely. Unlike other restaurants, Tenjou has bright lighting that allows for a more pleasurable eating experience. Oh do I wish I lived in New York to find more incredible restaurants like this. This place seems to have had a head start due to its marketing on social media, but unlike certain other trendy restaurants, this place exceeds on both the food and service. I absolutely recommend this place if you're in the area looking for a delicious bite.

Yelp
New opening for this spot in flatiron. Great inside decor, and the food is overall decent. We were in the mood for sushi so we primarily focused on that. They probably are known for there ramen and entrees from what we can see others ordering. Food came out quick as there were many servers.

Yelp
Good addition to the neighborhood! We saw that this place had recently opened up and were craving some Japanese food, so we decided to check it out. I made a reservation but we totally would have been fine walking in. We got: Octopus kara-age- good fry job, tender Fried oysters- super tasty Sushi pizza- decent, but I'd describe it as more of a tostado than a pizza A couple specialty rolls- these were ok, but very heavy on the rice and super filling Skewers- fine, but nothing standout. I'd skip next time. Omurice- egg was perfectly cooked and the demi glace was yummy. Came with a side of tonkatsu that was nice and juicy. Good portions, friendly service, and decent value for the price! I'd come back.

Yelp
Fantastic! Nice casual vibe inside. Good menu - had beef fried rice, spicy girl roll, yellowtail jalepeno. All of it was great! Such a good find and would def return.

Yelp
This was a new spot that opened up recently and we decided to try it. We got the omurice, two sushi rolls, and skewers. They were all pretty good and the drinks were decent too. Staff was also really nice and gave us a keychain as a souvenir

Yelp
I was drawn in by the hype on social media but it was quite disappointing. I ordered the omurice with pork katsu. It was visually beautiful but black pepper was over powering the whole dish. The pork katsu was nice and crispy but I just did not like the rice with little bits of mushroom, corn, and chicken but the egg was nice and creamy. My friends ordered poke bowls which they deemed ordinary. There was a lot of rice. They also got crispy rice roll which they said was not crispy enough. We also got the spicy girl roll which was a bit spicy as expected. For drinks, I got a lemonade which was absolutely horrible. It was not what lemonade should taste like and it was not sour. It was so whack I didn't even know what it was.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on the weekend and made a reservation so we were seated right away. The restaurant was mostly full but the staff were still super friendly and efficient. The restaurant was clean and well decorated as well - perfect for a casual dinner with friends or family. We started with the platter of 5 skewers. They ran out of scallop so we replaced it with an extra beef skewer - all of the skewers were delicious, but I think the pork was slightly overcooked. The ramen wasn't too salty and nicely flavored. The Omurice was definitely the highlight of the meal! The soft egg with the glaze was super creamy and delicious with the fried rice under. The pork Katsu was crispy and balanced well with the Omurice. Would recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
I personally wouldn't get the ramen here. It's not its specialty and there are many better ramen spots in nyc. The sushi rolls were great though! Staff was very nice, although throughout our 1 hour stay, we were helped by 4 different staff members; it made it confusing who was our main staff member assigned to our table. The mochi dessert was yummy especially paired with the fruit sauce, but I'm surprised it was priced at $11+ when it could very well have been bought from a store.

Yelp
Clean and fast place to have a quick lunch! The server was very friendly! Great lunch special selection!

Yelp
I really wanted to like Tenjou and was rooting for their grand opening to start off strong, thus I made reservations as their menu truly captivated me however the experience fell quite short of my expectations. We ordered the below- Omurice: Onion, Chicken, Mushroom, Green Bean with Chicken Mega Ramen: Shrimp Tempura, Chashu Pork (Replaced this with Fried Tofu), Half Marinated Egg, Corn, Bamboo Shoots, Scallion, Sliced Kikurage (Wood ear mushroom) While the interiors of the restaurant and flatware are aesthetically pleasing, my main gripe is that everything was over seasoned and tasted overtly black peppery. If you were to ask me how the ramen's broth tasted, I'd just say peppery. While I was grateful to be able to sub the chashu pork with fried tofu, I think inari tofu would taste better with the ramen. I tried the omurice, but I could only make out a peppery taste. While the omurice came out on a cute black marble paved plate, I had a hard time scooping anything off it because the bumps were a bit of a hassle. Maybe instead of sacrificing accessibility for aesthetics, find a happy medium? If you want to try Tenjoy, I recommend first coming for the $25 lunch set since this is a good deal inclusive of an appetizer, main, and dessert; plus you won't get buyer's remorse if your experience isn't too hot. I'm a firm believer that when a restaurant makes good food, they don't have to overseason it-at the same time, imagine if someone was actually allergic to the black pepper seasoning? The gesture of the complimentary Thai Iced Tea was appreciated, however that can't be the main thing that pulls the restaurant's weight.

Yelp
This restaurant opened recently next to my work. They have beautiful interior, full on Japanese vibe with wooden walls, flowers and bonsai. Lots of seating space available including a second floor. The menu has popular Japanese dishes like ramen, rice bowls, sushis and sashimis. They have lunch set special too both custom and prefix. Items are decently priced. I ordered the takoyaki, eel avocado, and shrimp tempura rolls to go. It was convenient to put in the order using the giant display pad in cashier counter. My order came out within few minutes. Takoyaki was excellent, super soft middle with huge piece of squid. The sushi rolls were equally good. Lots of sauce on top. Good quality rice. Shrimp tempura was well cooked. My co-worker loved the pork bao bun. She liked the Sapporo miso ramen but noted it was spicy. Overall we really liked this new restaurant. Looking forward to trying out other items from their menu in future.

Yelp
This past weekend my boyfriend and I tried this new spot. The atmosphere was very hip and elegant. We sat down and it took awhile to get menus, but we eventually were handed some after I asked. The only con here was that we were asked about 3-5 times if we were ready to order within a minute time period which was a bit much, but they comped us our Thai teas which made up for it. The staff was friendly and the food came out extremely quick. I ordered two rolls, edamame and the poke bowl and everything was good!
google avatar

Christian V.

Yelp
This spot is known for amazing Omurice but the staff makes it an unforgettable experience! Great with chicken. Be sure to check with Wilson for perfectly paired drinks like Sake 23 and red wine. Maurizio Zanella is out of this world! Exquisite finish with pleasant aftertaste. Yakitori selection and rolls are top notch. An essential visit in downtown NYC. Will be back for sure!!

Yelp
Grand opening was 5/23! I tried the omurice, ramen, crispy rice, oceans bounty roll, Thai Iced tea, lemonade, matcha pudding, caramel pudding, and the chicken bun. My fav was definitely the oceans bounty roll, omurice and crispy rice. The omurice is super flavorful and the sauce was amazing. If you go, you need to try the lemonade!! It's a cucumber lemonade and super refreshing but just a tad bit sweet. The matcha pudding was sooo good! Better than other places I've tried. I wish they had the matcha tiramisu though. The ambiance is super nice. There's also an upstairs if you ever want to book a party. The servers were super kind and attentive.

Justine L.

Yelp
I came to Tenjou after seeing this video on Facebook showcasing their lunch special omurice. Upon entering, the rattan wood furniture and interior design caught my eye. The lunch set includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I got the edamame, omurice with shrimp tempura, and matcha pudding with red bean. The service and food was delightful. Since I work so close by, I'll definitely come back.

Yelp
Tenjou was great for my daughter's birthday party. The staff served us a cake we brought in and didn't charge a cake fee, which was so nice. The entire restaurant is new and clean. The staff was very attentive, and the food was delicious. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
We ordered the following dishes: - Tokyo Tonkatsu Ramen - Omurice - Fried Oysters - Crispy rice with spicy tuna - Matcha Pudding - Mochi ice cream Food was amazing, 10/10 would recommend. Ambience was pleasant and the staff was really friendly! Definitely will come back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Great lunch special options - I got a ramen set for $25 and my friend got a prix fixe sushi set for $25 too. There's a lot of space in the restaurant, there's even an upstairs area. Our wait staff were friendly and quick to get our orders, bring them out, and get our check. Overall we had a smooth experience!

Yelp
Stopped by Tenjou for a late lunch around 2PM and had a pleasant experience overall. The restaurant has a beautiful minimalist Japanese aesthetic that feels clean and inviting. I ordered the Seafood Ramen, which came with fresh shrimp (though only three pieces) and some naruto. The broth was the star here--light and flavorful as you'd expect from a seafood-based ramen. The noodles were decent, though I personally would have preferred them a touch more al dente. Also tried the Thai iced tea, which was exactly what you'd expect--nothing spectacular but solid and refreshing. Service was quick, though that might have been due to the off-peak timing of my visit. The staff was efficient and friendly. Overall, Tenjou delivers a good dining experience with great ambiance. While not groundbreaking, it's a reliable spot for a satisfying bowl in a lovely setting. Would absolutely return to try other menu items.

They offer a variety of Japanese classics like sushi, ramen, yakitori & more. The restaurant has a clean and spacious modern look, perfect for date night. Yelp
Delicious food and wonderful service. The vegetarian options are quite tasty. Love the lunch deals.

Yelp
Great spot for a casual brunch with friends! We had a group of 6 (plus toddler) and the service was great. Didn't rush us as we took a while deciding what to order. We ordered some skewers and sweet potatoes fries to share which were both great. I had a tonkatsu ramen and my toddler inhaled it, so delicious and flavorful! We lingered for a bit, just chatting with each other and they did not rush us, even gave us dessert on the house - caramel pudding, so good.
google avatar

Dorothy L.

Yelp
Everything was great. Service was fast and attentive. loved the spicy tuna on crispy rice and the ramen was excellent. We were shocked to learn that had been open for just two weeks--really well trained staff. Even gave my daughter an iced coffee on the house which was a nice surprise! They'll be a great neighborhood go-to if they keep this up.

Yelp
First time in -- food was amazing. Tokyo tonkatsu ramen was fire. Got the chili paste on the side. The heat was full-bodied, rich, and deep. Never had tuna three ways before, and it was great to experience the fish that way. Made me wonder how the salmon three ways would be like. Not pictured: hot house sake, which had a floral flavor that was layered and not too sweet. Would also recommend the yuzu ale--crisp, refreshing and light. Would come back again (:

Yelp
tenjou is a newly opened japanese restaurant located conveniently in the heart of flatiron, nyc. it's only a block down from the train station, and even better--it's a place where you can have all your japanese food cravings all in one place. service was also great; everyone was attentive and checked in on my table. as i entered the restaurant, it transported me back japan. their japandi interior is so beautiful and truly resembles what i have seen from japan myself. the menu offers food items such as your classic japanese appetizers, sushi (sashimi, classic + specialty rolls, sashimi), ramen, rice dishes such as omurice and sushi bowls, yakitori, and all you can think of! everything was prepared with an aesthetic presentation and most importantly, also tasted delicious. they also have $25 lunch set menus, which is such a steal! what i ordered -- * shrimp tempura (so crispy and fresh! the spicy mayo that came with it made it even better) * spicy tuna gyoza (i love my sashimi so this was amazing. loved how there's a contrast of a fried exterior with the spicy tuna inside) * ika geso kara-age * fifth avenue specialty roll (contains salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. their fish is sooo fresh!! ) * spicy bowl (essentially a poke bowl with spicy salmon + spicy tuna!) * sapporo miso ramen (the soup was amazing) * thai iced tea (flavorful and perfectly sweetened!) * matcha pudding (thick and has a good balance in flavor) * caramel pudding if you're looking to fulfill your japanese food cravings, tenjou is the place to go!

Yelp
Honestly a 4.5/5 for me Solid food with very reasonable prices and great portions. Aesthetically pleasing interior and warm colors around to make it feel pretty welcoming. Service was prompt and the servers were friendly. Would come back again to try more of their menu.

Yelp
The food is really good here, we found it last minute. They gave us free magnets and key chains which was really cute and the service and help was great! The ambiance is nice, dishes were so cute. Enjoyed my time here, and everyone in my 8 people party enjoyed their time as well!

Yelp
New Japanese restaurant just opened! Place has a cute atmosphere and the staff were friendly. I got the Tokyo tonkatsu with black garlic. The food came out quick and was delicious! The ramen was very flavorful and the broth was rich. I highly recommend trying. We also got a caramel pudding for dessert. It was perfect, not too sweet and light to top off the meal. I will definitely be coming back :)

Yelp
Service was amazing here! Ambiance was great- The yellowtail classic roll was super yummy. All the food was so good i forgot to take a picture before :,(. The omurice was definitely my favorite, hands down. The rice was perfectly cooked and the egg was perfectly cooked to perfection. Highly recommended checking out this new place! Will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Delicious, fast service! A great aesthetic, with great looking cutlery and plates. Really impressive looking, with flavor to back it up. The lunch menu was fantastic, and a good deal for ramen in NYC.

Jess L.

Yelp
Super cute vibe, great service, 13/10 time! The shrimp tempura in the spicy girl added a very nice crunch to the roll!

Haylie L.

Yelp
Amazing food and service with great prices!! Inside was also spacious and very cute; would definitely come again :)

Yelp
Great sushi and affordable too! Loved the yellowtail scallion roll. Will def come back

Yelp
Great service and food was fresh and hot. Very crisp and clean aesthetics. The guys who worked the night we went really took care of us. Kept our water fresh. I didn't feel I had to wait a long time. Also it's a great after hours spot.

Linda T.

Yelp
First time at this ramen chain and it did not disappoint! We ordered a few ramen bowls, poke bowls, omi rice. Service was quick, food was delicious and staff were friendly and attentive. Also I love the decor/aesthetic of this chain!!

Cheryl S.

Yelp
For the same price, you're better off going to Tonchin. Broth was light, not too salty. I most likely will not return again.
google avatar

Akemi D.

Yelp
i loved the food! popcorn chicken and ramen were perfect portion sizes. service was pretty nice they fit us in even though we didn't have a reservation and the inside was pretty nice

Selene H.

Yelp
gorgeous space & delicious food!! i got the omurice and it was brought over with a beautiful presentation! they also have a $25 lunch special with various options. will be back!

Evan M.

Yelp
Cannot understand the 5 star reviews. Apps taste like they came out of microwave. I've had better sushi from a grocery store. The fish was flavorless, the uni wasn't fresh. A real disappointment. Go to Sushi Lab instead.

Alex H.

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, food and great service! The omurice was definitely a signature dish. Great cold appetizers, would highly recommend for a casual lunch spot.

Jacob L.

Yelp
great place for food, has a great ambience and staff. Staff is very polite and nice. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting new york.

Nick N.

Yelp
New ramen place just opened up on 23rd St next to Madison Square Park. There's not a lot of ramen places nearby, so we were really excited to try it out. We ordered the Takoyaki, Sweet Potato Fries, the Tokyo Tonkatsu Ramen, and the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen. Everything was great. Will need to come back for lunch sometime, they have a special that looks pretty good.

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
It was my first time coming here and I'd definitely come here again! The food was delicious, the service was nice, and the people are kind. I like the design and layout of the space and the decorations are cute.
