This is a cool place inside a food hall. These onigiri are big and filling. So 3 are enough for lunch. It’s not purely rice but it has the tuna or salmon inside.

We decided to try the mix and match onigiri, sampling the pork belly, spicy tuna, and honey walnut shrimp. The honey walnut shrimp was my favorite. However, the pork belly and spicy tuna were quite underwhelming. Both lacked any flavors I was expecting. Overall, it’s a decent spot for a quick snack and to try something different, but I would not return.

Google
I ordered a lemonade for $4.50 and watched as they filled my 16oz cup with ice and poured lemonade straight from a Kirkland Organic Lemonade jug from Costco. The same jugs cost me only $7.25 for two 96oz bottles at Costco! What’s frustrating is that they advertise it as “homemade lemonade,” but it’s clearly just Kirkland bottled lemonade. I don’t mind paying for quality or service, but honesty matters. It’s disappointing to pay $4.50 for a drink that isn’t what it’s claimed to be

Visited Hangar at LBX after almost an year. Its buzzing with energy and new exciting eating spots. Stephen was our server and he was extremely helpful and explaining all the options and made good recommendations. Tenori has a simple menu and I opted to get Salmon and Tuna with Mayo Tenori balls. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of this. It had great taste and texture. Though this was more of a snack than a meal for me.

Google
4.5 so rounding up! Whenever I go to Rodeo 39, I always have to stop by Tenori! Love that they have a deal, 3 for $11 and I usually will double up on honey walnut shrimp and then also get the pork belly. I've also tried the spicy tuna and kbbq but keep falling back to my faves. Ngl, it took me a few visits to notice that they're labeled by the paper they're wrapped in LOL. Before I would just guess which one I picked up, which wasn't the worst thing. I recently tried their poke, which I barely noticed a sign since it's not on their huge wall menu. The poke was fresh but not as spicy as I'm used to! Still good though and my fiancé thought it was a good spice. They also have lemonades and we tried the lychee one which my fiancé loved.

Google
Food: 3/5 Service and Setting: 3/5 Value: 3/5 I really wanted to like this more than I did, but maybe my expectations were too high. I love rice balls and expect them to be super packed with flavor and fillings. While the food was not bad, for the price, I hoped for better to be very honest. If you are looking for something that is a little easier to digest, Tenori is your place when navigating the food jungle that is Rodeo 39. Honey Walnut Prawn: 4/5 This definitely was my favorite of all of the rice balls that I tried. There was a good amount of filling and it was definitely honey walnut prawn. The most pronounced flavor to me was the walnut. The crispy shrimp and nuts were a good contrast to the soft rice and savory furikake coating. Mentai: 4/5 This was also very good and they packed a good amount of mentaiko into the rice ball. Mentaiko, or myeong-ran in Korean, is spicy fermented pollack roe and is extremely delicious. It is spicy, savory, rich, has a strong-ocean essence, and slightly bitter/fermented. If you are not a fan of seafood this is not for you, but if you do want to try something different, I would say that Tenori offers a very good mentaiko rice ball. Pork Belly: 2/5 I really did not like this one, to be frank. The meat was very sweet and tasted strongly of soy sauce. The bonito flakes on the outside helped a bit but yeah still not a fan. I felt that the flavors were very underwhelming and the intense sweetness was off putting. Lychee Lemonade: 4/5 Their lychee lemonade is pretty good and a lot better than a lot of places that I have had similar drinks at. Lemonade is always pretty sweet so I won’t ding them there. The lychee flavor does not taste artificial and there is not that thick sort of syrup taste that you get when restaurants use a lychee syrup. I would not say that this drink matches their food, but it is refreshing nonetheless and I would pick one up even if I was not eating here.

Google
Spicy salmon: Pretty good! Slightly spiced but not hot. Lots of salmon filing. Probably my favorite. Honey walnut prawn: This was super good too. Tastes like a good honey walnut shrimp and the breading wasn't soggy. It's a contender for favorite. Pork belly: Least favorite. The pork is pretty dry and the flavor is alright and a little on the smoky side. Lychee lemonade: Pretty good! Light and refreshing. Stronger lychee flavor at first with that sour lemonade punch at the end. Very interesting.

Google
Tenori was pretty good! I was a little underwhelmed with how much filling there was and the lack of labeling so you are stuck just biting into the onigiri to figure out which filling it has. However, their menu has a good variety and I feel as though there is something there for everyone. Their bundle deal is a great option for trying different fillings, and it is offered at a good price. Service was good. Cashiers were friendly, and the staff cooking made our food pretty quick. Would definitely say Tenori is worth a try if you are in Rodeo 39.

Yelp
Tenori is a go to whenever I come to Rodeo 39. Their 3 for $11 deal is so worth it! It's a whole meal. Very generous with the amount of filling. We got spicy salmon, pork belly, kbbq, and honey shrimp. The spicy salmon is my favorite one. I think next time I will just get spicy salmon and try a different filling. The others are good too but the meat fillings weren't as good as the salmon. The honey shrimp was probably second best but the filling in that one was pretty small. There's not much to note on service. You order through a kiosk so there's not a lot of interaction. There are many restaurants at rodeo 39 so the line doesn't get very long. Wait is never long!

Yelp
Here's a polished version of your review--still fun and casual, but cleaned up for flow and readability: I was hungry, but more on the snacky side than hangry. After wandering the hall, I grabbed three onigiri (aka omusubi in Japan--or rice balls, though I think "rice triangles" makes more sense since I never remember the proper name ). Anyway--whatever you call them, they were yum! Freshly made with perfectly steamed rice, filled with sweet or spicy tuna and other tasty meats, then wrapped in just the right amount of salty seaweed. Chef's kiss! This place serves up seriously good food. Tip: get a fork fallen scraps - worth it.

Yelp
Flavors are solid as always. My go to is the spicy mentaiko. Overflowing with filling and flavor. My only complaint is lack of attentiveness when it comes to online orders. I gave 5 minutes after my allocated time before asking for my order.

Yelp
Cute spot for onigiri in Rodeo 39. We ordered the onigiri trio with the pork belly, spicy salmon, and KBBQ. Great as a little snack as you walk around. There is ample seating and parking in the lot.

Yelp
Tenori is the perfect place to visit if you're in a snack-y mood. One onigiri will run you around $4, but for $11, you can snag yourself a trio. It's quite a steal actually. I ordered the following: -spicy tuna: cooked mayo, spicy Kewpie mayo, bonito furikake -spicy salmon: broiled salmon, spicy kewpie mayo, bonito furikake -honey shrimp: tempura shrimp, honey lemon mayo sauce, bonito furikake Eating onigiri can feel laborious if there's much too much rice, but the filling to rice ratio here was phenomenal. You get a healthy amount of filling per bite. Both the spicy tuna and spicy salmon were very tasty. It reminded me of a tuna kimbap - just plain ole tuna with a bunch a mayo and maybe a hint of sugar. It was good, it was great. I liked it very much. The honey shrimp was a nice surprise. They envelope a meaty tempura-ed shrimp into an onigiri with mayo. It's tasty and different. I'd skip the poke for $9. It's dressed but there's not too much flavor otherwise. Tenori is a ten out of ten. Highly recommend stopping by for a snack.

Yelp
OVERALL : I loooove getting onigiri whenever I'm feeling a snack / light meal. Something about rice and protein served in small portions just hits especially when you're out and about looking for a small snack that won't weigh you down too much. Tenori specializes in onigiri, which are rice balls filled with various proteins inside and wrapped with seaweed. Tenori also puts a delicious sweet and salty furikake on top that is so addicting and perfectly complements the rice! There's a self-order kiosk so I didn't interact w/ the staff, but it's just a casual spot for grab-and-go, so this was no biggie. PARKING : Inside the Rodeo 39 food hall so there's a big parking lot, but things can still get crowded during rushes so be prepared to circle for parking if going during peak hours / weekends. FOOD/DRINKS : Mentai - spicy cod roe, this was actually spicy and they were generous w/ the filling! Spicy Tuna - cooked tuna, spicy kewpie mayo -- not actually spicy but a classic, still yummy! Spicy Salmon - broiled salmon, spicy kewpie mayo -- not actually spicy but you can never go wrong with salmon and mayo combo!

Yelp
Tenori is one of the food stalls located inside of Rodeo 39 Public Market. You order on the kiosk, and they will text you when your order is ready. Their entire menu pretty much consists of onigiri rice balls, but I believe they have a spicy ahi poke as well. Each onigiri is $4.00, but you can order a combo for 3 onigiri for $11.00. We got the Honey Walnut Shrimp, KBBQ, and Spicy Salmon. The Honey Walnut Shrimp has shrimp tempura, along with a honey lemon mayo, candied walnuts, bonito furikake, rice, and nori. The flavor in this one is more mild, and the breading mixed with the rice makes it a little more carb-heavy when you're eating it. I think I would have preferred it more without the tempura breading. The Spicy Salmon has broiled salmon, spicy kewpie mayo, bonito furikake, rice, and nori. And lastly, the KBBQ has beef, onions, house special garlic soy sauce, sesame seeds, bonito furikake, rice, and nori. The Spicy Salmon and KBBQ are a lot more flavorful than the Honey Walnut Shrimp, so I enjoyed these more.

Yelp
First time here. Place was small and cute. I ordered the spicy ahi tuna, which wasn't spicy at all. Ahi was $9, Rice $3, spicy mayo $1. It's pretty expensive for the amount of food you get. It was filling, but still pricy. Food was delicious and the girl at the front was nice, but kind of quiet/shy
google avatar

Justina T.

Yelp
I tried the onigiri a few years ago and thought it was fine (the honey walnut shrimp was my fave of the three). Never really had a craving for them again. That said, I recently visited to try the ahi tuna poke. It's $9 for what they advertise as 1/4 lb of poke. NGL the portion was a lot smaller than I was expecting for the price. I saw another reviewer had ordered the poke with the $3 side of rice, and their portion of poke somehow looked more substantial than mine. The poke container looks deceptively big in the picture, but use the fork for scale, and keep in mind it's a single layer of poke. You'd get more bang for your buck by going to a place that specializes in poke because you'd get more scoops of protein plus rice/salad and lots of toppings for only a few bucks more. The poke here for $9 is honestly a ripoff and an overpriced snack at best. It's also not spicy at all despite being advertised as spicy ahi tuna poke.

Yelp
Went on a Thursday night. Not busy at all. We did a few of the 3 for $11. Orders came out quickly. Kbbq. My second favorite Pork belly. My least favorite Salmon. My favorite I will try the other options next time. Would recommend!

Yelp
I am a huge fan of onigiri's (rice balls wrapped in seaweed). So when we were in town checking out the Rodeo 39 public market, we just so happened to see a food vendor serving specialized onigiri's. Tenori is located in a nice area in Stanton inside the Rodeo 39 public market. Parking is easy and accessible in the large parking lot. We ordered 3 onigiri's, Pork Belly, Spam, and Spicy Salmon from Tenori. Everything was tasty and pleasing. I thought it was a great value price point for the 3 onigiris deal. The service was efficient and quick. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Tenori. If we are ever back in town or at the other locations, I definitely want to try the other onigiris.

Yelp
What is special about "Tenori" ... As you buy onigiri or musubi in LA/OC, sometimes it's not made to order (It's been sitting around a while); sometimes they squeeze the rice too tightly; sometimes they don't have a lot of filling options. At Tenori, they always make the onigiri fresh. The rice is warm; the nori is dry and crisp; depending on the filling, the protein is appropriately warm or cool. My recommendation is to order the "3 for $11" offer, and try three different fillings. I admit it ... I have been busy, and I have not been to Rodeo 39 for almost 9 months. I was disappointed that some food vendors that I have patronized are no longer there. So, I was happy to see that "Tenori" is still open.

Yelp
Brought my nieces to Rodeo 39 and we decided to have some thing light to snack on . First time trying Tenori. We tried the Mix and Match, 3 for $11. Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Pork Belly and order another one on the side; Spam. Great flavor for all four. I love the Tuna! For those spice lovers, you'll need to add more. I would recommend trying this place and will try the others next time. Parking can be tough during peak times. Maybe avoid parking away from In-n-Out.

Yelp
I find myself ending up at Tenori almost every time I'm in town! I'm honestly not sure why but of all the onigiri spots I've been to, Tenori always takes first. I usually go for the 3 pack and mix it up each time depending on how I'm feeling. The KBBQ is probably my favorite. I've also tried Pork Belly, Mentaiko (spicy!), Honey Walnut Shrimp, all of which are amazing as well. You can place your order yourself from a kiosk and the food is served usually pretty quickly after that. Tenori is located inside Rodeo 39, a food hall with over a dozen other food options and plenty of seating. Parking can get tough when busy, but otherwise great location and vibe!

Yelp
I frequently order from Tenori, because it's a solid quick meal I can order ahead for pickup without any issues. Today, I placed my order at 11:46 a.m. with the confirmation page saying it'd be ready around 12:01 p.m. I received a text at 11:52 a.m. indicating my order was ready. When I arrived, the worker explained it was rush hour, so my order was not ready yet. My friend and I said it was fine, waited, then follow up at 12:05 p.m., and the worker explained that because my order was placed during rush hour, the kitchen deprioritizes mobile orders, so it'd be another 10-15 minutes before my order would be ready. I usually don't mind waiting, and it's understandable if orders are backed up when when it's busy. However, it's frustrating when I order in advance, but am told that the my order will come after others who ordered much later on. Food was fine, but the experience today was otherwise disappointing.

Yelp
Spicy salmon: Pretty good! Slightly spiced but not hot. Lots of salmon filing. Probably my favorite. Honey walnut prawn: This was super good too. Tastes like a good honey walnut shrimp and the breading wasn't soggy. It's a contender for favorite. Pork belly: Least favorite. The pork is pretty dry and the flavor is alright and a little on the smoky side. Lychee lemonade: Pretty good! Light and refreshing. Stronger lychee flavor at first with that sour lemonade punch at the end. Very interesting.

Yelp
I like them all, although it's a bit 'hit or miss' with the flavors of the fillings. My go to Tenori spot, every so often, My favorite is the 3 for $11 deal, albeit I usually can only finish 2/3, super filling! Food: 4/5 Service: hit or miss, I've only seen girls working here... hmm, and they're mostly quiet. The most I've heard the girls say are "If you have my questions, let me know" or "Your order will be right out." Not much customer interaction, anyway, 3/5 Ambiance: 4/5 there's not much to it; the dining area shares space with the rest of Rodeo 39. Grab a seat anywhere you like.

Yelp
"Onigiri Bliss - Tenori Has Me Rice-ing to the Occasion!" If you're on a quest for the holy grail of onigiri, look no further than Tenori at Rodeo 39. These little rice bundles of joy are so good, I briefly considered writing them into my will. I went for the Honey Walnut Prawn, and let me tell you--crispy, not soggy, and just the right balance of sweet and savory. It's basically what shrimp tempura dreams of becoming when it grows up. Then there was the Spicy Salmon--delicious, but about as spicy as a rom-com on a Sunday afternoon. No worries though, because I came prepared: enter the black sauce and spicy mayo, a dynamic duo that should honestly have their own fan club. Pro tip: BUY THEM. Your taste buds will thank you. Ordering is a breeze with the kiosk system, and there's always a friendly staff member in case you get so excited about rice that you forget how technology works. And to keep things balanced, I paired my meal with their Organic Coconut Water--because hydration is key when you're about to inhale three onigiri like it's your last meal. Speaking of three, get the 3 for $11 deal--trust me, one is never enough, and two is just teasing yourself. Overall, Tenori is a 10/10 rice experience. Would I return? Absolutely. Would I consider getting a tattoo of their onigiri? Give me a few more visits.

Yelp
Been to Rodeo 39 Public Market a couple of times, decided to try out Tenori. This is a nice little food stall. Simple and catchy at the same time. You order your foods at their two Ordering Kiosks. I ordered the Mix and Match. 3 for $11. Got the following three items: 1. Pork Belly 2. Spicy Salmon 3. KBBQ All three tasted good. Can't complain. Will try their other items in future visit.
google avatar

Peyton L.

Yelp
Delicious! Pork and spicy salmon were really great. Would definitely come back here for a snack. Inside the Long Beach Hangar with lots of outdoor seating.
google avatar

Alyssa T.

Yelp
This location is inside of Rodeo 39. There is a decent amount of parking but it can get crowded. While there are not tables directly next to the stand, there are tables around the outside of the building, near where you order and pick up the food. You order from one of two screens/kiosks. They have a decent amount of options and all of them sounded delicious. I ordered the spicy salmon, pork belly, and kbbq onigiris. They were ready very quickly. The filling to rice ratio is very generous and they were all very flavorful. The seaweed on the outside was very crisp and they tasted very fresh. It's a decent sized portion when you order 3, but not the most filling.
google avatar

Crystal L.

Yelp
Delicious and flavorful onigiris ! Happened to stumble upon this shop while browsing around. These are our perfect travel snacks and bought some before our flights. Their spicy salmon & kbbq were mine and my bf's favorite. Tastes just like Japan's convenient shops with some Asian American twists. The bonito furikake enhanced the flavor. Order on a kiosk and quick service. Very filling, 2 each was perfect for us :)

Yelp
You can't go wrong with Tenori's onigiri, it's the perfect snack and if you order 4+ it's a meal! If you don't know what Onigiri is, it's basically a rice ball with flavor inside. At Tenori, there's a bunch of options to choose from and it's all listed on their wall. You can mix and match your flavors and test out which one you like the best. I personally enjoy the Spicy Tuna, Tuna w/Mayo and Pork Belly. Surprisingly I like the Pork Belly the most, it's not the most traditional onigiri flavor but it's so good. I recommend this or the Tuna w/mayo. Inside, Tenori is located in the back to the left right next to the brewery. I would recommend getting their 3 for $11 deal. Parking here is insane at Rodeo 39 too!
google avatar

Sharon L.

Yelp
The online ordering process was super easy. I got the 3 piece combo for $11, which is pretty decent. The onigiris were a good size. After I placed my order, I called them to see if I can have my seaweed on the side and not wrapped since I won't be eating it immediately. They were able to accommodate my request and the seaweed was packaged in a nice long paper bag when I went to pick it up! Spicy Salmon was my favorite, followed by tuna mayo which is always a classic. The honey walnut shrimp was good too but I expected more fillings. Mine only came with one piece of shrimp in the middle. Nice quick meal to satisfy my onigiri craving!
google avatar

Grace C.

Yelp
Really delicious. Well seasoned. I felt it was good rice to protein ratio. Pork belly. Korean bbq and shrimp tempura were my choices. So so good. Soft rice. Must eat right away. 3 for $11.50. Order on the kiosk and they'll call for your number.

Yelp
Back again to this onigiri spot at Rodeo 39, and I'm happy to say it totally lived up to the first visit. This time, my girlfriend and I rolled in 30 minutes before closing (I hate being that person who comes in within an hour from closing but we had no groceries and after cleaning our whole apartment neither of us wanted to cook), but they were still happily taking orders, which we really appreciated--especially since we were seriously craving onigiri. The vibes were extra fun this time too because there was karaoke going on, which added a playful, upbeat energy to the whole space. We ordered 6 onigiri: spicy salmon x2, spicy tuna, kbbq, pork belly, and honey walnut shrimp. Once again, we got our food within 5 minutes, which is crazy impressive, especially so close to closing. The quality and speed? Still top-notch. Spicy salmon is still my favorite. It has that fresh, cooked salmon feel and the filling is generous--overflowing in the best way. The spicy tuna is definitely canned tuna, so expect that familiar taste. That said, it was delicious and actually spicier than the salmon--more of a bold, seasoned kick. Pork belly was still a winner. Super filling with lots of pork belly. My girlfriend says this one's her favorite--she also liked that the tuna had more of a mayo flavor compared to the salmon. The kbbq (bulgogi) one was kind of neutral for us. We love bulgogi, rice, and seaweed, so we still enjoyed it, but it didn't stand out flavor-wise compared to the others. The honey walnut shrimp was a tasty shrimp tempura, but the filling was noticeably less. It took a while to hit any shrimp, and the tempura-to-shrimp ratio leaned heavily on the batter. Still good, just not as balanced as the others. This was our second time here and we're both still fans. The consistency in quality and speed, even late at night, is seriously impressive. If they keep this up, we'll definitely be back again and again. Pro tip: go for the spicy salmon or spicy tuna if you want flavor and generous filling. Pork belly's a close second (or first, if you're my girlfriend). Such a great casual bite spot--still highly recommend!

Yelp
pretty quick service, and you order through a kiosk. walked around till our food was ready. It's located inside rodeo 39, so there's plenty of seating available. the wrapper has the name of which onigiri that you ordered. I highly recommend eating it right away/fresh! - pork belly - kbbq - honey shrimp
google avatar

Leilani M.

Yelp
Excellent! Really loved this place. Easy to order and great for food on the go. The selections are straight forward and not complicated. Opted for the 3 pack. Tried several flavors and all were good. Held up well for traveling and really great for a little snack later in the day. Service was friendly. It's located right next to bearded tang brewery on the corner easily visible. Communal seating is right in front of this space. Clean and plenty of napkins. Packaged in a sort of French fry tray. Not sure if they have to go containers but we managed. I would visit again the flavors and taste was classic and comforting.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Always a stop for us when at Rodeo. Spicy salmon, KBBQ, and more. We always get more than we can eat here so we can take some home.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
I went to tenor when I was craving onigiri and I was not disappointed. I will say that the spicy tuna and salmon did taste very similar especially because they were cooked and had the same seasoning, I would recommend just ordering either or. The KBBQ was pretty good, a sweet and tender beef paired well with the rice like eating a beef bowl. The best onigiri by far has to be the pork belly. It was juicy and chunky with a sweet and deep umami flavor. Service was pretty fast and the place was spacious when I went at night
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
this is my favorite onigiri. I love the seaweed, texture of the rice, the filling and the furikake topping. I don't really care for any of the other fillings besides the pork belly.
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
The picture for this place came up in the photos when i was trying to figure out what was available inside Rodeo 39 and i knew we were meant to be. The girl at the counter was very nice and was available if i had questions. They have order pads so i clicked away and i chose the trio - salmon, tuna, and pork belly. Im obsessed with onigiri and i was NOT disappointed. It is a generous portion of filling and a good rice balance. The furikake topping added a nice saltiness. You could get spicy mayo or eel sauce on the side & i got spicy mayo. Good seating nearby and cute wall decor. This place is far from me but i will make an effort because it was definitely love at first bite!!
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
My go-to when I crave onigiri. Hits the spot every time. I'm able to eat 3 and be full. Their flavors include pork belly, spicy tuna, tuna with mayo, mentai, spicy salmon, kbbq, honey walnut shrimp, and spam. You save $1 when you order 3.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
TL;DR - onigiri is kinda overrated, basic & quick. came here with my mom & the pork belly onigiri had way too much rice, idk i've definitely had better. i was compelled by the signage and modern design, but was kinda disappointed. the staff is pretty quiet, not much to say. i wouldn't really recommend, it's nothing special & the pricing is fine.
google avatar

Anchal B.

Yelp
I've gone here twice and every time it's been amazing! I got the 3 for $11, which is a good enough deal because you can get full off of those 3 very easily. I opted for the pork belly, the honey walnut shrimp, and the spam musubi. The pork belly was great for what it is, just wish it was more flavorful. The honey walnut shrimp is amazing, I love it but just wish there was a bit more shrimp in it because I love it so much. The spam musubi is great, and the sweet glaze they put in between adds the perfect balance to cut the saltiness. The shop is located right next the brewery, and there's plenty of seating all over the place, outdoor and indoor, so you won't have a problem finding tables. It just gets busy during peak hours and especially the weekend. Parking is kind of hard to find when it gets packed.
google avatar

Abbie N.

Yelp
We ordered the pork belly, mentaiko, and spicy salmon. The pork belly was really good and the mentaiko was spicy. I would definitely order here again.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
What a cute place. This place is inside rodeo 39 and always has a line, but it moves pretty fast. You now order off a huge iPad and self check out when you're done. There one person working the front to call out orders as soon as it spits out the kitchen. There is a sign with an estimated wait time for food. I can't say I've ever waiting more than 10 minutes for my order. I recommend the honey walnut, spicy tuna, KBBQ, pork belly, and tuna Mayo. They have a deal of three item for $11 in my opinion 3-4 is enough for one person. The sizes are pretty decent and the amount of filling to rice is a good ratio. Parking can be a challenge when it gets busy and you might have to circle around a few times before scoring something but definitely worth a try if you're in the area.
google avatar

Alyssa A.

Yelp
My photo was taken about an hour after ordering! I would definitely recommend eating this right away so the seaweed doesn't get soggy (unless you have seaweed on hand like me), but I've had Tenori plenty of times before and it is a staple for me to get even if I'm getting food at other places in Rodeo 39. Today I got the pork belly, spicy salmon, and tuna w/ mayo (for my boyfriend who doesn't prefer spice). I've tried almost all the flavors except for mentai and spam. Everything tastes soo good!! The meat to rice ratio is chef's kiss. It really depends on what I'm craving that day but I always get either the spicy salmon or spicy tuna. Parking and seating are plentiful but can get crowded during peak times/weekends!

Yelp
The three piece onigiri is always a deal for $11. I typically get the spam, spicy tuna, and the spicy salmon. They all the hit spot in different ways and I'm glad it's the same flavorful experience each time. Service is very very minimal. Order at the touch screen and wait for a text. It's almost like a ghost kitchen. A staff greets you upon ordering so that's nice for that personal feeling.

Yelp
Nigiri is so good. I got the KBBQ & Mentai and both were amazing. The meat inside is seasoned and cooked to perfection and the rice on the outside is perfectly cooked, just the right amount of softness with a good bite as well. Will be back.

Yelp
Very popular spot. The line was sooo long, but flowed quite quickly. You save a dollar if you order 3 so I went ahead with the spicy salmon, kbbq, and honey walnut shrimp. A nice touch was displaying a screen adjacent to the register that lights up a certain color depending on the live wait times. I believe it was blue when I ordered so sometime around 5-15mins maybe. Which indeed it was! As you can see in the photo, they all looked the same. So I thought it would be fun to find out as I bit into them, but if you're sharing it with someone else who might be allergic or not into your flavor, might be a good idea to ask for them labeled or separate boxes? Kbbq - 4/5 the flavor was all there! Definitely my favorite of the 3. I just wish it was a little spicy Spicy salmon - 1.5/5 not spicy at all. Just looked and tasted like baked salmon that was mashed up with a fork Honey walnut shrimp - 1/5 only one shrimp inside and it was pretty battered up. Not enough meat from the shrimp itself. Didn't taste or appear to have anything else inside. Very disappointed The size of them were nice for the price but I'm very upset that 2 out of the 3 didn't contain enough meat in proportion to the rice and in comparison to the kbbq.

Yelp
Housemade Furikake was amazing. It was definitely not the store bought one. Shavings of Bonito and freshly toasted sesame seeds and other seasonings made the eating Onigiri very pleasant. The seaweed was very crispy and fillings were fresh.( I got salmon, pork belly and honey walnut shrimp)

Yelp
Whenever I'm at the Rodeo 39 complex, I always stop by Tenori. My go-to order is always the three pork belly onigiri. They have other options, but since I'm not too big on anything that has mayo or is mayo-based, this is my go-to order. Whoever is working the front can help you with ordering your food from the ordering screen. It is literally right next to the bar area.

Yelp
Some of my favorite (if not my favorite) onigiri in Southern California! I've tried the mentai and spicy salmon. Mentai is fairly salty so I usually go for the spicy salmon. Rice is warm and they don't skimp on the furikake seasoning on top, which I appreciate because it has a nice flavor. The spicy salmon also has a good flavor and perfect amount of heat. The 3 for $11 deal is a good price. They may look small but they're very filling! The sizes of their onigiris are more manageable than other places. I also like how they clearly label them. When they're busy, it can take a little while to come out but it's never unreasonable and when you do get them, you can tell they're very fresh.

Yelp
I think you're either going to love this place or hate this place. The main factor will be if you like fish. Everything here is fishy due to everything (except the spam masubi) being coated in bonito which is smoked dried fish. Even the non fish items are going to be fishy. Me personally, I love bonito. I couldn't wait to eat my food. I got a 3 pack with honey walnut shrimp, pork belly, and spicy tuna. For my wife who isn't a fish person I got Korean BBQ, pork belly, and spam masubi. The instant you open the package the bonito smell punches you in the face. Me I'm like "oh yyyyyeeeaaaaaaaaaa" while salivating. My wife recoiled in horror. I'm a fast eater. I wolfed down all three while my wife was still on her masubi. I really loved the spicy tuna the most. It was more like a mayo based tuna salad consistency. I thought the filling to rice ratio was good and even though it's a quick snack I was happy with the amount I got. Next favorite was the honey walnut shrimp. Crispy battered shrimp in a delicious sauce. Had around 2 or 3 shrimp inside. Pork belly also great but had the least amount of filling but was very savory tasting. When eating all three it was a very satisfying lunch. My wife luckily started with the spam masubi. She enthusiastically declared it was delicious and was hopeful for the onigiri. All of a sudden I hear "HWWWWARKKKK.... OH GOD..... HWWWAAAAAAAAARK... OH GOD, NO... NO.... OH GOD NO.". Once the bonito hit her taste buds she started to uncontrollably gag and dry heave. Tears running down her face, trash can in hand, she said "you want these? I can't do this, this is horrible". I was tempted to eat them but hearing another human gag ruined my appetite so I unfortunately threw them away. So again, be warned. You like fish, you like bonito, you'll enjoy this place. You don't like fish, do not eat here since even the non-fish items are fishy.

Yelp
I came here with my kid on a Wednesday around noon. It was the last week of winter break for her, so she wanted to come here to enjoy a yummy lunch. This is located inside Rodeo 39, at the corner of Beach Boulevard and Garden Grove Boulevard. This food hall usually gets crowded, especially during prime lunch time (haven't been here in the evenings but assuming it's just as crowded). Although the parking lot is fairly big, it fills up pretty fast as there are other businesses and eateries, too. It was getting packed when we arrived, but luckily we found a spot. Tenori's menu is pretty simple: spam musubi and onigiri - pork belly, spicy tuna, tuna w/mayo, mentai, spicy salmon, KBBQ, and honey walnut shrimp (there's also spicy ahi poke for $9.00). It's $4.00 for one, or mix and match 3 for $11.00. We ordered the 3 for $11.00 (spam, KBBQ and honey walnut shrimp) and a lychee lemonade ($4.50). There was a short line, but it went kind of slow because everyone had to order on the kiosk (there's only one). The musubi and onigiri were good! The spam was a nice thick cut, and there was enough KBBQ meat. The honey walnut shrimp was a bit lacking in flavor for me, but the furikake made up for that. If anything, I wished they were bigger in size, considering the price. I shared the 3 with my kid, but had I eaten all 3 by myself, I'd probably want a little bit more, like a side salad, to feel like I had a good meal. Also, they were so crumbly, especially the KBBQ, which fell apart after a bite. Good to have a fork or chopsticks on hand. The lychee lemonade was sweet and yummy (they only serve lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and lychee lemonade, all 24oz size), but the cup was more than half filled with ice so we slurped it up real quick (see pic).
