Tenur - Review - Kreuzberg - Berlin - The Infatuation

"Kurdish spot Tenur is definitely somewhere to visit with a few friends, order a ton of food, and get comfortable at one of the longer tables inside. Start with the big meze plate before moving on to some stews or grilled meats like the Mardin Kebab Tenur Spezial, which is a minced lamb and veal skewer with grilled eggplant and butter sauce. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu, and even the small side salads burst with flavor. Try their unique take on kunafah for dessert that uses buffalo mozzarella, sugary syrup, and fine pastry strands made by a woman in the neighborhood. photo credit: Zoe Spawton" - Cindy Brzostowski

One of my fav spots in the city! Kind and hospitable service, you truly feel it is a family restaurant. I love the Beyti Sarma here, as well as the Bulgur Köfte with beef sauce, great flavour combination, crispy meat, see it for yourself!

We have ordered Adana kebabs and traditional dumplings. We liked kebabs very much. They were tasty and juicy with flavours. Traditional dumplings with sauce were also very tasty. We really liked the bread that came with it. While staff was nice and helpful, it took more than an hour to get our food on the table. Everyone was waiting for the food for so long /‘d even some people left. I think the kitchen is usually busy on weekends. So if you have time to spend or want to try it on weekdays, it’s really recommended place .

Great Kurdish food, fresh and tastes presented in a good time manner and I really can not describe how I’m in love with their Tenur tea. And the Kurdish Music and the friendly staff creates a special atmosphere. I Definitely recommend it

O my goodness! What a service, what a lovely vibe, what an authentic Kurdish miniature world ❤️ My wife and I visited here and had a fantastic dish and a more fantastic experience. Super clean utensil, and world-class clean and tidy toilet which truly enriched our joy(that's a number one prio for us). The Kurdish cuisine is coming from a visible and open kitchen, under the hands of a professional chef, delivered by some handsome, incredibly polite waiter. The background music? Was unbelievably cherry picked and charming. I couldn't help myself and waved with music all my time being there. The restaurant manager was also really nice, helpful and humble. He's a Kurdish true gentleman, with an awesome wisdom and vibrant taste for pleasing his customers. Hold on a sec: I forgot to mention the tea and the bread... Not even a bit less than PERFECT I can say. We can't wait to come back here for another amazing dinner 🤗

Overpriced. The warm mezer for two is basically a tone of fries with the the main bites served on top (3 units of each). It looks huge but is mainly chips for 40 euros. The falafel was correct but soulless. Ordered a vegetable stew, nothing remarkable, plain as a white collar's Tuesday. The only reason worth going is the meat: well spiced and grilled, served over a nice babaganoush. The dipping sauces (two tiny pots, yogurt and a red one) for 4 euros to help eating the "Cheekha Dar"of fries doesn't help either.

It’s kind of expensive, but so tasty, and the songs in the restaurant are also nice:)

If you come to this location by foot, you may seem skeptical at first, but once you go inside the restaurant, you know everything will be amazing. Don’t let your opinion of foreigners around this berlin area shape your prejudgement about this restaurant. I came here with my family of 8. It was difficult to find anything available for a party of 8, but managed to find this hidden restaurant on open table. Let me tell you, this hidden gem made our trip complete. We were warmly welcomed and a table was prepared for us immediately. The owner came around to greet us and offer us suggestions should we not know what to order, but we all knew immediately what to order. I can recommend anything on the menu. We ordered the appetizer sample plate, and everything was delicious. They even made whole wheat flat bread, which was warm and fresh. We also ordered the baba Ghanoush, which was amazing. The eggplant had that fresh off the grill aroma and was warm. We also had the falafel, which in my opinion is difficult to make, but they somehow perfected it. It was crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. Most places either burn the falafel or it turns out soggy or too dry on the inside. They, however, perfected the art. The side salads that came with every meal were also delicious and had a lot of variety in the choice of vegetables. The dressing was also very tasty. The dishes that were ordered varied from lamb, beef, shrimps, etc. I can honestly say this is one of the best restaurants in the area and I highly recommend this to anyone, especially groups. If you want the special dessert, make sure you order it at least 20 minutes before you need to leave. They make it fresh. It is definitely worth the wait. I read some reviews about people complaining about the service being too slow. We came in around 19:00 and noticed two waiters leaving as they were off duty around 20:45. This did cause some delay for other tables that just arrived, but honestly, the food makes up for it. At the end you also get a free tea; we were in a rush to leave at the end and didn’t get to enjoy this, but I am sure we will be back in the near future.

Yelp
Tenur is a delicious hole in the wall which provides a plethora of delicious foods. Everything was delicious and the service was reasonable. They took care of us as best they could, being a large group. The food service was great, they kept coming and we kept eating. It was easier to order ahead and just have them arrive with what was requested as time progressed.

Yelp
Very tasty, with big portions, service was nice. Prices are reasonable (e.g. cold Mezze platter for one person - 12.90 €). I enjoyed the authentic atmosphere and I recommend this place.

Yelp
High stakes opinion, I think this is the best Kurdish/Turkish food in the area. I take my kebab very seriously and have tried almost everywhere within a few mile radius of Kottbusser Tor, and twice now this place has been the tastiest. My partner is vegetarian, and the salads are also really special. It's a tiny bit more expensive than standard restaurants around here but 100% worth it. Every element I tried, even the rice, is spiced with care. Highly recommended!
