Journey around the world with these hot new menus in Singapore - SilverKris

"This popular Japanese tempura chain’s Ion Orchard outlet serves exclusive menu items built around its signature tempura technique. Highlights include the Salmon Tendon bowl—crispy tempura salmon fillet paired with a Hiroshima oyster, creamy Camembert, mashed potato and ikura on Masshigura rice, finished with Tenya’s umami tare—and a Spicy Cold Udon set featuring chilled Inaniwa udon in tsuyu with tanuki, cucumber, Japanese leek, Sakura ebi and a red pepper–garlic oil. Shareable sides extend the tempura theme with Kawa Ebi (river shrimps), Hiroshima Oyster Tempura, Mentai Fries and Chicken Wings Tempura." - Joy Fang and Alexandra Karplus

Seriously don’t understand the bad reviews. Quick, good service and clean. Easy to order, something for everyone from tempura to donbori. Very good food, awesome lunch here. Flavors were good and fills you up for a good price.

I visited Tenya at ION Orchard recently and had a generally pleasant dining experience, with one major issue that affected my comfort—the air-conditioning was uncomfortably warm. Food Quality: As expected from this renowned Japanese tendon chain, the food was excellent. I ordered the Seafood Tendon, which was fresh, crispy, and flavorful. The batter was light, and the portion was generous for the price. My friend enjoyed the Tori Tendon, and we both loved the Mentai Fries and Hiroshima Oyster Tempura as side dishes. No complaints on the food quality. Service & Ambience: The staff were polite and efficient, and the ordering system was user-friendly. However, the dining area was very warm and stuffy—the air-conditioning did not seem to be functioning well. It made the experience uncomfortable, especially since tempura is a hot dish. Given Singapore's humid weather, proper air-conditioning is crucial for a pleasant meal. Value for Money: Food prices are very reasonable, and the portions are satisfying. It's a great place for casual Japanese dining in Orchard. Final Thoughts: While the food and service were great, I sincerely hope management looks into improving the air-conditioning at this outlet. It detracts from an otherwise enjoyable meal. I’d still recommend Tenya for its quality food, but would advise others to dine during non-peak hours when it's hopefully cooler. Rating: 3.5/5 (Would be 4.5 if the air-conditioning was better)

Tenya at ION Orchard was… well, okay. The food did the job — crispy tempura and rice, nothing that made me want to write home about, but definitely nothing to send running either. It was kind of like that reliable friend who shows up on time but never really steals the spotlight. Service was polite and efficient, though I didn’t feel like I was being serenaded or anything. If you’re craving tempura and happen to be nearby, it’s a decent choice. Just don’t expect fireworks or Michelin stars — more like warm sparklers on a quiet night. Will I rush back? Probably not. But hey, sometimes “okay” is exactly what you need.

Nice vibes, not too noisy with good music. Tempura batter is light, relatively non-oily. Gives the right crisp without being too greasy

the soba saved this dining experience fr. the karaage was mid, not really giving deep fried and it wasn’t crunchy. but the other slices of chicken were better! the sweet potato was way too thick! it should’ve been more thinly sliced. i loveddd the fried yet runny egg!!

Food was average. Ambience is comfortable. Was a misunderstanding that since i opted to pay at counter didnt know have to do so before food is served. Had a 15min wait before waiter asked me to pay at counter. After that the food came very fast. I think the management should look into this since this area is usually full of tourist. Food could be better with side vegetable like shreddes cabbage.

The place has one of the most reasonably-price sets: you get noodles, rice and tempura for around $S15. The food tasted quite food and was filling. Most of the drinks are refillable and there was barely any wait for receiving the food. If you're in mood for a no-brainer-Japenese and value-for-money dinner, this is the place to do so.

Good food and selection. Easy to order from their app. Soft drinks and tea are refillable! The restaurant is spacious and so not very noisy. They served food not that fast, but I think it's OK. Food is very delicious 😋
