Enjoyed a solid tempura meal here. The tempura was light and crispy, and the soba noodles (hot or cold) were nicely al dente. The tempura was well done too, with a crisp exterior and light texture. Ordering is via QR code with payment at the counter. Ambience is pleasant and staff are efficient. Prices are very reasonable for Orchard Road. It gets busy during dinner hours, but the sets are good value and worth the wait. Free-flow water is a nice bonus. Recommended and would return.

Noodle Tenya Tempura, $15.50 Noodle Vegatable Tempura, $14.90 Tempura has a light, crispy texture and a delicate, slightly savory flavor. Soba whether Hot or Cold was al dente and great ! Agedashi Tofu(6 pcs), $3.90 Tofu was light and crispy exterior. Garnished with bonito flakes and grated daikon radish served separately Self service ordering thru QR code. Payment at counter. Nice ambience and staff efficient in their service.

Food is reasonably priced for Orchard Road. Queue are long, be prepared. This is a very popular place. There is free flow water - thumbs up! Food is good, portions are ok. Try the promotion sets - they are worth it. Highly recommended, thumbs up! Will be back for sure.

Wonderful pricing for week day lunch. Might have to wait for a bit during lunch hours but it is worth it. Definitely a good deal in the Orchard area for Tempura meal

This place was recommended by a friend who enjoyed it. I see a lot of people talking about how bad the service is, but I have not experienced that. The food is great, which is what ACTUALLY matters. The crunch is good but not hard on your teeth and gums, meat is way more tender than most tempura I've eaten in Singapore. I say give it a try. Decent price to quality ratio for the location. Hell, the miso soup is above average as well.

Location a bit hidden but the food is good. Service is poor though and yet they charge a service charge. On top of that, mostly everything is self-service. I think nowadays there are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Singapore that offer good food for the same prices maybe even less. I emailed them and this is what they replied. Baffles me that food prep and cleaning is part of "service" and not "operational" costs. Nothing about their service was "authentic" and "welcoming" as what they hoped for. Not bad if you're desperate and around the area. Otherwise I think trying somewhere else is also a good idea.

Stumbled upon Tenya during lunch and decided to give it a try. Specializing in a wide variety of Tempura Dons (rice bowls) and noodle sets, this spot turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I opted for their Unagi and Fish set, and it was nothing short of impressive. The unagi was fresh and generously coated in a rich, umami-packed sauce, while the fish was perfectly battered and fried—light, crispy, and satisfying with every bite. The accompanying hot soba was a standout as well, flavorful yet balanced without being overly salty, tying the meal together beautifully. The service here deserves mention, too—the staff were exceptionally patient and friendly, and the food arrived remarkably fast despite its variety and complexity. The restaurant itself is spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating, so finding a spot was effortless even during lunch hours. All in all, this was a delightful discovery. A fantastic meal, great service, and a cozy dining atmosphere—10/10, and I’ll definitely be back for more!
