If I could give more than five stars, I would!Teòric offers an exquisite and intimate local dining experience that's truly memorable. They have two set menu options—10 or 13 dishes. We opted for the “smaller” 10-dish menu and still left feeling full and more than satisfied. The service was outstanding: attentive, knowledgeable, and warm. The team cultivated a relaxed, minimal, and welcoming atmosphere that made the evening feel extra special. Now for the highlight—the food and drinks. Teòric serves a delightful non-alcoholic malt beer, and my husband was particularly impressed by their selection of local natural wines. We also received complimentary filtered water. The food itself was impeccable: a refined, modern twist on traditional Catalan cuisine, with a strong focus on sourcing seasonal ingredients. Each dish delivered a surprising and beautifully balanced flavor profile. Together, the ten courses showcased a thoughtful and satisfying range of tastes and textures, accompanied by some delicious sourdough bread (we received two generous serves). As a small note, I would have loved a printed version of the menu—it was so beautifully created! Highly, highly recommend. Excellent value for money as well. This was easily one of our favourite dining experiences to date.

Went to two small places while we were in barcelona. The first had a Michelin star, then we came to Theodoric. The food is far superior. Inventive, delicious and thoroughly enjoyable, much better than the first place. A few of the dishes were revelatory: tomatoes with peach gazpacho and pork terrine. If you do nothing else in Barcelona go to Teoric and have at least these two dishes. A lovely evening coupled with a great wine suggestion and excellent service. Just go here... What could be better? I found that in general food in Barcelona all needed either more acid or a hint of heat. Too many dishes lean into creamy components which is ok but becomes cloying. Teoric almost entirely breaks free from this profile

One of the best tasting menus I’ve ever had. Super creative combinations and inventive menu. It’s a hell of a deal for the quality of the dishes. My favorite was the pea dish and the asparagus paired with coffee (what?!?). The wine pairings that were proposed to me were also top notch. Highly recommend.

Google
I HIGHLY recommend doing the tasting menu. My top tasting menu experience in Barcelona. The value and quality for the price is outstanding. For just under €50 per person, we had an amazing 10 course tasting menu. The workers were very passionate about the dishes and even described all details to us in perfect English. All of the dishes tasted fresh, as their tasting menu changes seasonally and is sourced locally. Absolutely loved this experience and wish much success to this restaurant going forward. I am still dreaming about their chicken croquettes! But all of the dishes were delicious and flavourful. All flavours paired beautifully.

We went for lunch and took the 13-dishes menu. It was great and exceeded expectations. The dishes I liked the least (toast zucchini and shrimp on chicken skin cracker) were still interesting and not too bad. Everything else was a joy to eat. I advise to book inside rather than outside, their outdoor seating is not the best. We made that mistake and luckily they offered to have us inside.

Came here for one of our last meals in Barcelona and loved the whole experience. Did the ‘short’ menu tasting which was plenty. Left very full and satisfied, 10/10 would go again.

Food: Wow. This has to be my favorite restaurant in Barcelona thus far. Love that all their ingredients are seasonal, local, and organic. All their flavors were unique and delicious! Their menu changes often, which is nice to keep coming back to and continue to try new dishes. There’s only two tasting options. We chose the longer tasting and it was so satisfying considering that many tastings can leave you hungry. Service: One of the most kind, attentive, and accommodating staff. Atmosphere: On the smaller side but it’s the perfect intimate and cozy spot for a special occasion.

Based on other positive reviews, I believe I was just unlucky. Unfortunately, they no longer offer individual dishes from the carta and instead serve a single course menu that changes quarterly. (Tho it's only one course, it would be nice to provide a carta...) We were not particularly impressed with the course we tried. While some dishes were good, I felt that the quality of the ingredients was inconsistent. The prawns, in particular, were very poor and cheap. And the rice with cheese was poorly cooked, lacking in flavour, with the overpowering goat cheese ruining the whole dish. (Come on... I used to cook like this in uni😓 when I don't have the main ingredient for the broth) We will not try again, unfortunately. It was not worth 46 euros in my opinion. The wine menu was good.

Yelp
We had dinner reservations at Teoric on our 2nd night in Barcelona. I had an 8pm reservation and we were basically given our pick of tables. We opted to do the full 13 course tasting menu, which had 11 savory courses and 2 dessert courses for 62€. This was honestly a steal. We had so much food, all of which was very tasty and well thought out. Some of our favorite courses included a cod croquette, a cured bonito toast, and a turbot with butter and fennel. The later dishes of saffron rice with cured goat cheese and rabbit shoulder were fantastic. Dessert was cheesecake with fig carpaccio and a traditional creme caramel, which was honestly one of the best I've ever had. Service was fantastic, attentive, and super friendly. They even gave us a free glass of bubbly when we were first seated since it was our wedding anniversary. We had a great dinner at Teoric and I would definitely recommend it. The price itself cannot be beat.

Yelp
After having spent a fair share of dinners disappointed in tasting menu, Teòric Taverna Gastronòmica really renewed my faith in tasting menus! We were on the first service on a Thursday night. We were welcomed warmly, as we had a reservation (an absolute must), and were seated at a very nice two top. They only do a 10 course tasting menu, but at 40€, it's very very worth it. There's an incredible attention to detail in each course. Not a single course we had had any errors. The wine was also spectacular. It really helped that the girl waiting on us with quite enthusiastic about the wine. We followed her suggestions multiple times. The wine isn't included in the price, but the wine by the glass is well curated and nicely priced. We ate and drank our hearts out and paid less than €120. Can't beat that!

Yelp
This review is for a visit on November 7, 2019. I made reservations online for our party of four at 1:30, which is when they open. The restaurant was nearly empty upon our arrival, but by the time we left the place was buzzing. Teoric has an industrial vibe with exposed, weathered brick, high ceilings, hanging lights, and a row of oak barrels up on the wall. The space is dimly lit and long and narrow, which gave it a more intimate feel since you don't have tables on both sides of you. There's some outdoor seating as well. To start, we ordered the chicken and prawn croquettes (delicious), pan con tomate (good), and assorted cured Spanish meats (some were very good, others were just ok). I ordered the cod which was served with sautéed spinach, pine nuts, and black garlic sauce. I really enjoyed it. The cod was boiled but still flaky like I'd expect cod to be, and it was a welcomed break from the fried tapas fest I'd been on. They clearly emphasize service here. Our server was very personable and came to explain the menu offerings with us as well as the specials for that day. Overall, I'd definitely recommend visiting if you're in Barcelona.

Yelp
First and foremost - this was one of the best meals I had on my trip to Spain (including both Barcelona and Seville). They only open for lunch at 1:30pm, standard for Spanish lunch hours, and it seems like you can make a reservation for even parties as small as 2, though I didn't really see the option on their website (maybe call?), but I would definitely recommend it. My boyfriend and I managed to snag a seat at the bar since we arrived 10 minutes before they opened and just waited to be the first people in the restaurant. The staff is extremely kind and offer to explain how their menu works and what they recommend in thorough detail. We ordered 7 dishes for the 2 of us and were definitely very full by the end - 1 from each "section" of their menu: STARTERS: 1. Catalan charcuterie meat selection (they recommended we also order the toasted bread with tomato as that how it's normally eaten - definitely do this if you do get it!) - The meats on there were probably more hit or miss for me (liked 3/5 of them) 2. Prawn and chicken croquets with saffron - We had to get these because croquettes for life but also because of the unique combination of filling, and they were AMAZING. So amazingly crispy on the outside and flavorful throughout. Would eat again and again and again. FROM ORCHARD: Pumpkin, goat's cheese, and black olives - ok so I hate olives, and I'm more meh about pumpkin, but this looked more novel so we thought we'd give it a try - and I'm so glad we did!! The pumpkin was done 3 ways: diced, foam, and seed puree with goat cheese ICE CREAM (love ice cream, love it even more in the middle of a meal) FROM SEA: Cod fish, spinach, and black garlic - A mash up of things that I love. The cod was SO TENDER, probably one of the softest pieces of fish I have ever tasted in my life. Sososo good FROM MOUNTAIN: Lamb, potato, and carrot - Also super tasty - such tender lamb with potato puree (they do love their purees) FROM MOUNTAIN AND SEA: Octopus, pork belly, and "Trinxat" - ugh honestly the star of this meal - nothing else to say besides that it was so delicious. Will be dreaming about this dish forever So happy that I got to experience this place when I was in Barcelona - I hope I get to visit again in the future!

Yelp
A fantastic tapas meal in Barcelona! Everything we ordered was top notch. The cod is one of the best I've had (I am typically not a big fan of cod but this was amazing) and the pork belly was definitely the best I've had - crispy skin, meaty, with a good amount of fat but not too much. My husband liked the lamb the best - tender, and served over creamy, buttery mashed potatoes, with baby zucchini. IMO the chestnut mushrooms were a must-try, though they were a special of the day. Service was great too. I would love to come back! (Reservations are a must.)

Yelp
I was impressed with the Chef's mind. The juxtaposition of ideas on a single plate, often in a single bite, made my tongue believe this world has hidden worlds, accessed only by brazen creativity, && this chef has a key. Buen provecho!

Yelp
Reserved a seat at the bar for lunch. Food was outstanding. Presentation & quality was the best I've experienced in Barcelona. Customer service was excellent also. Manager & staff are very helpful & explain all the dishes. Dessert was amazing. Definitely reserve this restaurant in advance; you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
We stayed at the Fuster Apartment across the street and happened upon this little gem one night. Even though they were crowded, we waited about 15 minutes and were seated at the bar. The food was phenomenal and we got to talk to Teo, he was very friendly. Everyone who worked there were awesome and we highly recommend this place if you're in the neighborhood!

Yelp
This is absolutely a must visit location if you're ever in Barcelona. The warmth of the staff and the quality of each dish, puts this restaurant as one of the best places I've ever dined in. If you thought Avengers End Game had the most colossal team up ever, Teoric's Octopus and Pork Belly dish begs you to hold its beer...also, I think my wife was willing to leave me and shack up with their apple crumble dessert...

Wow this place was so good. My favorite meal in Barcelona. The service was superb and the place is simple yet beautiful.

Yelp
I believe our host/server called a gastro restaurant and not tapas which I think is correct. It offers a short list of menu options in different categories or they can make a menu for you. We reserved several weeks in advance and we were seated outside-I like to watch the restaurant flow so I might have preferred to seat inside. The food was some of the cleanest quality food we ate on our Barcelona food tour. We eat a lot of seafood and the Hake was outstanding. For the quality and balance of the food I thought our bill was one of the most reasonably priced during our 5 day visit. I am glad I found this place and booked it. It was a wonderfully delicious meal.

This restaurant is amazing, would recommend to anyone. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the ingredients and food.

Yelp
Excellent tapas with a modern translation. Every dish we had was excellent. The staff did a wonderful job explaining each dish and answering all our questions. We highly recommend Teòric and encourage to make a reservation.

Yelp
Teoric takes tapas to a new level. 3 eu cavo was great. first we had the carrot, sweet potato and mandarin salad with arugula pesto with candied walnuts oh outstanding. then their version of potatoes brava only ten times better than anywhere else so far. onto the two fresh veggie dishes, first cauliflower with a smoked cheese almost au gratin-ish and then 3 types of artichokes thinly sliced and lightly fried and hearts on bed of jerusalem puree. then melt in your mouth sea bass and finally smoked lamb with carrots and yogurt sauce. well not totally finally as the desserts sounded so good we had to try one and did the almond kind of molten cake and lemon cinnamon ice cream. believe me it really works. staff recommended a wine not on the list which went perfect with the food, altes garnatxa negra herencia 2016. the bread was being sliced when we arrived, biggest loaf i have ever seen and really good. the staff was delightful! really sweet, friendly and efficient. our total bill was 73 eu. seriously can't believe it. we will be back again and again and again.
