Where to Find the Best Tacos in Jacksonville, Florida | Eater Miami

"Since 2020, Tepeyolot Cerveceria has been brewing Mexican-style beer and crave-able tacos for hungry customers. The tacos come filled with protein, like beans, spicy chorizo, steak, chicken, or mushrooms, then topped with onions, cilantro, and a lime wedge served on the side."

The Best Breweries in Jacksonville, Florida | Eater Miami

"One of the newest breweries in Jacksonville is Tepeyolot Cerveceria, where Mexican-style beers and dishes are on the menu. The house Kolsch is the Patio Pounder, which is malty and crisp, while the Pulque Americano is a hazy IPA made with blue agave nectar. The latter of the two beers is juicy and sweet, making it a good one to pair with some of the brewery’s street tacos."

I finally tried it here after living by it for 3 years! I came in on a weeknight, and it was a little busy—there were a few parties at tables, and the bar was full. A live band was playing (slightly loud and hard to talk). We didn’t realize you had to order at the counter cause we missed the sign, so we sat down for a bit before noticing it. We got up to the counter and got our order in. Easy and quick. I ordered the steak tacos, and we had the dip trio to share. The tacos were good, and the chips and guac were my favorite. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come here. Maybe avoid nights when they have live music since it is loud, but at least they are good!

Google
Very cool spot. Pinball and arcade games, tacos and beer.... can't go wrong. Check out the taco Tuesday special. I subbed the queso and steak, but still a great deal

Google
Such a great food. I got sopes with steak. The tatse was great, tender, juiciy and meat flavorful. However, for me, the highlights are the chips, best chips in Jacksonville. Crisp, such a great flavor, I think I could eat tons! Guacamole is fresh, and I was told that everything on my plate was made by them. All their effort can be tasted in the food and the beer...yes they have their own beer. I got an Altbier, Alta Vista. It goes easy, just bitter enough, herby enough, watery enough, goes great with my dish...a hint of sweet in the aftertaste. Perfect for the Florida Heat

I love quesadillas at (tepeyolot) is the best in town I recommend to everybody. Great service & good los compas beer.

Google
Sooo we have driven past this place many times and were like “we really should go in there” we finally did and OMG it’s AWESOME!!! First off even though it’s a brewery (with awesome beer) they have out of this world mix drinks and cocktails. Their Margaritas are all freshly made no mixers and are legit!! Especially if you come in on happy hour (Mon - Fri 2-6pm). The food is amazing as well. We have had the tacos, nachos and the burrito and it all was delicious!! The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions you have. And the atmosphere is fantastic. They have fuse ball and classic pinball machines. It all adds up to a reasonably priced good time anytime of the day you go! If you are in the San Marco/Atlantic area or just driving by on your way through downtown on 95 YOU HAVE TO STOP BY.

Google
This review may be underserving, as I've only been here once. It was a Saturday night, the third of the month, which meant there was a lot going on. Dancing, karaoke, a special food menu, creators selling their items, and more. With that being said, space was tight, but we were able to snag a spot at the bar. We only tried their beers, but the food did look good and I would try it if I came back.

Google
First time stopping in because I was in the area at 3pm on a Tuesday. I enjoyed the seasoned chips, not just salted. Everything is well seasoned. Protein was a let down. Beef got lost on the nachos. The chicken taco was ok, nothing special. No birria, no carnitas. Not a fan of queso. Too thick and flavor was amazing. Customer service was amazing. Food came out quickly. Pricing is fair. I would go back but wouldnt go out my way for it.

Hidden gem of San Marco awesome tacos. Pinball machines and great daily specials.

Yelp
This is my first time eating here with my wife and the atmosphere is amazingly comfortable and full of fun from pinball to shuffle board. And the food was also extremely good we got the lunch speacial burrito and I was very satisfied with it. I give the restaurant a five star for hospitality excellent food and environment

Yelp
This was a nice surprise to find! The tacos were delicious- I got one mushroom and one chicken- the spices they use are absolutely fantastic on both. They also make their own chips (seasoned, amazing) which came with the tacos (as well as a drink). I also got to choose which salsa I wanted- I chose the salsa verde - loved it. The whole lunch came to $13, pretty great actually. Came on a Tuesday and plenty of parking in the back. You order at the counter, and then they bring it to you. Everyone was super nice as well. Also they have pinball machines, as well as specials for families on Sat, and trivia nights. I had a great experience and will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Went to happy hour tonight at Tepeys. I didn't realize this but in addition to their beers, they also have an extensive cocktail menu. The star of the show for me though was the chorizo nachos. Possibly the best nachos I've ever had. There is plenty of parking behind the building and a good amount of seating/bar space inside. They also have several pinball machines and tvs. Service was very friendly and helpful when choosing drinks to try. Pretty good happy hour specials. Will return.

Yelp
Love the vibes. Went for a music trivia night. So much fun! Wasn't a huge fan of the salsa because it tasted like straight tomatoes with no seasoning or flavor. The ground beef tacos tasted really good; however, they had So. Much. Grease. It was grease, not juice. The tortilla chips have seasoning on them that's really good. Kids meals come with chips and salsa and a drink and are a good value. The trivia was so fun, it made up for the average food. I would definitely come back on another trivia night, but probably wouldn't go just to go.

Yelp
Tacos were burnt . The order comes with 2 tacos for $13 and both shells were over done transferring a bad taste to the meat.

Yelp
We've been here several times and always have a good time. This was our first time having something from the brunch menu. We weren't disappointed! We ordered the breakfast burrito with chicken and shared it. It was more than enough for us. Full of flavor! I would've liked some heat in it, but otherwise it was delicious!

Yelp
I came here during a self brewery tour. The inside has pinball machines and a big bar, as well as plenty of tables. I did not eat here but the food looked and smelled delicious so I will be coming back to try it. I enjoyed the beer flight I got and they also had a full bar if beer is not your thing. Put this spot on your list!

Yelp
What I love about this place is the happy hours, the fact that it's a restaurant with games, and the amazing staff. They have a great happy hour! I got two tacos and a house marg for great pricing. The blueberry margarita went well with my beef and chicken tacos and I think I just found a new favorite happy hour spot. Vibes were chill during my visit and this was a nice place to decompress after a busy day!
google avatar

Yelp
We were here on a Friday night and there was live music which was lovely. My barbacoa tacos were yummy and so was my marg. Our food and drinks came quick too! There are plenty of pinball machines to keep you occupied while you wait

Yelp
Excellent brewery in Jacksonville with a great vibe with even better food! We happened to be traveling in Jacksonville on Cinco de Mayo weekend and had to come here since it's Mexican owned. They, of course, had lots of food and drink specials for Cinco de Mayo as well. We tried a few beers which were all great. I ordered a margarita, which was excellent as well. For food, we ordered the street corn, 2 barbacoa tacos, and chicken authentic quesadillas. The street corn was warm and super delicious. The barbacoa tacos were fresh and the meat was delicious. My husband talked me into the authentic corn quesadillas instead of the gringo flour tortillas, and I am forever indebted to him. The authentic quesadillas were to die for, and I may never go back to my gringo ways! The space was large with plenty of seating, and the service was quick. We were there pretty much at opening on a Sunday so there was plenty of parking in the back. This place is super unique and delicious, and a must-visit in Jacksonville!

Yelp
If you like Taqueria Cinco, Keg and Coin and Lola's, you'll love Tepeyolot Cerveceria. This place features what's best in all of these. The freshness and flavor of Taqueria Cinco, the fun of Keg and Coin, and the portions of Lola's. Add to that a fantastic selection of IPAs made in house as well. It's a great, casual, fun vibe. Exposed ceilings, unique lighting, art and vibrant bursts of color surround the tables. It's a grown-up playground with your favorite Mexican food. You order and it's brought to your table. The staff was extremely friendly and informative to us as first time visitors. We'll be back as they have great Happy Hour food and drink deals along with Pop-up "Mercado" every third Saturday. Not only do they have pinball, but the best machines including Black Knight. $1/game, 3 games for $2. You can also play shuffleboard, darts or foosball. It's a blast. Large TVs surround the bar area and it seemed like an ideal place to watch a game. My wife ordered a Whiskey Rita. It was refreshing and unique. A perfect accent to Mexican food. We split chicken nachos with their guacamole and an authentic steak quesadilla with their queso and spicy salsa. Everything was delicious. The guacamole extremely fresh. The steak and chicken seasoned really well and their queso was just special. The best queso I've had. The queso was unlike any I've had before. Perfect texture, fresh as well and flavorful. The spicy salsa was very unique. Pasty, spicy at first, tasty, then after about 30 seconds, it smacks you in the back of your throat. The chips were good as well. They use paprika on them. It's a bit different in that regard, but tasty. I highly recommend this place. I know we'll be back soon.

Yelp
The food was great, great staff and good prices. We plan to visit again for sure. The steak soft taco was tender and extremely tasty

Yelp
We have been here a few times. And each time I like it more and more. Their beer is good and their food is even better. I love the chorizo sopes that come with chips and salsa I added a small queso. My husband ordered traditional quesadillas which are made with corn tortillas and comes with chips and salsa. You can have 2 or 3. He got 3 and each was a different flavor. We ordered the kids quesadilla for our son and it was a decent size with chips and salsa. You order at the bar and they bring the food out to you. Last time we were there they had a few pinball tables now they have a ton! This will now be added to our rotation. Check them out if you haven't!

Yelp
Everyone was very helpful answering questions about the menu. The food was delicious! We'll be back for sure. They had games to play and we played Loteria, won an appetizer coupon! Inside there's arcade games and plenty of tables. It's a cute, casual restaurant with amazing food.

Yelp
Amazing food amazing customer service pinball machine to play with. What more could you ask for the ambience is so cool nice for coworkers building and a nice night out with friends great beer.

Yelp
Spent a Friday night here with some girlfriends and was pleasantly surprised! I'd never heard of this spot before but they had live music, a full bar, arcade games, and reasonably priced tacos. I ordered the steak tacos and thoroughly enjoyed them. I was pleasantly surprised at the portion size, they really didn't skimp out on the fillings, and that each meal came with an order of chips and salsa. The chips were really nicely seasoned and the salas options were fresh and relatively mild. The whole restaurant is counter service and our meals came out very quickly, but were still hot and freshly prepared.

Yelp
Winner winner tacos nachos and burritos dinner. Situated right next to where we live. We are lucky. Sweet place for games for the kiddos and adults, food and drinks! Tacos nachos burritos taco salads quesadillas and more. We went for some double margaritas and mezcalitas, along with the steak burrito and chicken nachos with hot hot salsa. Margaritas on point and hit the spot. Chicken nachos were also very delicious. The hot salsa was awesome. Had a slow burn to it that built up while we ate rather than smacked us in the face right away. The steak burrito was also delicious. No complaints here, and will definitely be back room. Great service, good place for any type of crowd at any time in the day.

Yelp
Good food and beer here, also a full liquor bar. Happy hour specials and taco Tuesday

Yelp
I can't believe I never reviewed Tepey's! One of our go-to spots for Mexican street food. I love the mushroom authentic quesadillas (like grilled tacos/small quesadillas). They are SO good and are served with delicious homemade hot sauce. The chips, salsa, and guac are all fresh and delicious and the chips have a yummy seasoning sprinkled on them. I like their mezcal margaritas, but the house margarita is a little too sour for me unless it's a double. They specialize in beer and make all of the varieties in house! The kolsch is a favorite, but when they have the darker beers, those are my top favorite. We watched the super bowl at their bar when we first moved here and it was the perfect place for it. Great atmosphere, nice people, and delicious food and drinks. They have lots of fun arcade games too! They conveniently have a parking lot in the back too. My only recommendation is that they add shrimp or a vegan option like soyrizo as a protein option. I love the mushrooms as a pescatarian, but would prefer a protein option. My boyfriend and family rave about the beef and chicken tacos and authentic quesadillas. Support this great local business!

Yelp
The food here is fabulous. The service is friendly and efficient. During the evening on different night they offer: * Live Music * Mexican Bingo *Trivia Night Plus they always have old time pinball machines and a foosball table. I have only been here once and only tried the vegetarian taco salad, but WOW it packed a bunch of flavor. So instead of meat, you get black beans, cilantro, cotija cheese and this amazing lime-vinaigrette that is served on the side. I could drink a liter of this stuff. I will update after I come here a few times.
google avatar

Monnica K.

Yelp
Went here for dinner last night! They have a fun and chill atmosphere with arcade games and stuff around the restaurant! Pretty easy to park and we were serviced almost immediately up at the bar where you order. I told the worker it was our first time there and she was so nice and helpful. She recommended the authentic quesadillas, specifically the barbacoa meat! Both of us got one each of the chicken, steak, and barbacoa, and we got our food fairly quickly. The barbacoa was definitely our favorite!! So tender and flavorful. The chicken was piping hot, and the steak was good too! The chips and salsa were not necessarily anything special on their own, but I put the salsa in the taco and that took it to the next level! Overall a good experience, and we will definitely be back again just for that barbacoa!!

Yelp
We have passed this place a few times and finally made it here. We are so glad we did! Plenty of seating around the bar and ate tables all around. Plenty more of tvs and games to play including foosball, darts and pinball machines. Paper menus are available and you order at the counter by the bar. Grab your number and the food is brought to you. We decided to share chicken nachos with added guac and authentic steak quesadillas. The quesadillas come with a side of chips and we added queso. I tried the whiskeyrita and loved it too. The nachos were loaded and delicious, great for sharing. The authentic quesadillas are made with corn tortillas and the steak was cooked perfectly, almost melting in my mouth. Everything tasted really fresh. The guacamole was a nice addition to the nachos and the queso we added to our side of chips tasted homemade and yummy. The self service fountain drinks make it easy to get refills. We really enjoyed everything and will return soon!

Yelp
Really cool place to spend some time. Beer and food is great. Plus pin ball machines.

Yelp
Tepeyolot is such a vibe! The ambiance is amazing, they have games including pinball machines and a Fooze ball table. I had the vegetarian sopes today and the flavor was great! The sopes were perfectly shaped and flavored! The food came out quick and hot! I will definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been meaning to review Tepeyolot for some time now as it's a brewery we've frequented since it opened back in 2021. The quality of the beer, food, and service has only strengthened since they first opened and I can confidently say Tepey's is one of the best breweries/restaurants in town. They always have a good selection of beer and drinks on tap and their food is always memorable. On our last visit I had a beer paired with chorizo authentic quesadillas and steak nachos. The best quesadilla and nachos in Jax!!
google avatar

Cee L.

Yelp
Great flavor and very fresh! I've never dined in and this was my first experience but it was very good and cannot wait to return.

Savior F.

Yelp
Having a hanckoring for taco's and passing Tepeyolot more times than I can count. I decided to stop and sample the cuisine. I tend to like a crispy shell taco with a little grease, tender and spicy meat, Then any blend of toppings - cheese, sour cream, tomato, cilantro, lime and salsa. My dinner was fairly good. The beans, tasty and rice, nothing memorable, were in small ramekin sized containers. When I was done, all I really wondered was if it would have tasted better eating it at the restaurant as opposed to taking it home.
google avatar

Theresa O.

Yelp
This place was in the Jacksonville pub pass so here we are, I only tried the IPA and it was good, they have food we did the tacos all were good in my opinion the chorizo tacos were amazing. They also have board games, pinball, shuffleboard and Pac-Man games if that's what you are in to. My husband liked the French toast stout beer. They have parking in the back and clean bathrooms so go check it out!
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
The food was fine but drinks were pricey. I prefer authentic Mexican food. Nice place if you want to hang out

Yelp
I went during the day so this review is not going to be exciting. Nice and spacious for large groups. Dart board and foosball table available for games. Taco Tuesday deals and events during the week other than sporting event like Trivia Tuesday. Yes, this is a great place to watch sporting events and a great bar vibe. Great food selection. Great place for a nice business lunch or meeting. Friendly staff. Rustic, Aztec decor. I'm sure after after work and weekends this place lively and fun. I'll be back for Trivia Night.

Yelp
The food was good. I came in with my son for dinner. He had the Chicken Quesadillas which he enjoyed. I had the Burrito which is a good size if you're hungry. Both meals were cooked perfectly and tasty. They did not have wait staff while we were there. We ordered at the counter and they cleared the tables which I deducted a star for. It's not a deal breaker, but a little inconvenient.

Yelp
Soooo good. Ambiance and food were impeccable. The service was top notch. Forgot to take pics bc the food looked so good I had to eat it.

Yelp
Been here 5 times so far since September and let me just tell you the staff is amazing. Luis, the owner is super chill and accommodating. Connor is whipping it up in the food truck doing the lords work. I always get the Buffalo wings and the Barbacoa burrito and they don't miss, trust me on that! I've had awesome bartenders like Laney, Jonaye, and Corey who are all super nice, and just let you chill and vibe. They also make good conversationalists haha Come here for great food and even better service. You will not be disappointed, and hey the arcade doesn't hurt here either FYI their prices are decent. Won't hurt your wallet either. Always a plus!

Kim A.

Yelp
Gave this restaurant a try during a trip to Jacksonville. The margarita was delicious. The food was...outstanding! The quesadilla special was so good as was the regular quesadilla and the tacos. The service was also fantastic. Can't wait to try it again.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to Tepeyolot a few times and the food has always been consistently good. Don't let the surrounding neighborhood scare you. We've come here several times during lunch and only ate, but it appears they have a pretty decent craft beer selection. So far I've been impressed with the food; the menu is smaller keeping the quality high. I've had the tacos, burritos, taco salad, and quesadilla; all very good. I will say it can get rather expensive for Mexican food; and if you drink you could probably run up a decent bill. Service is great. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. Everyone I've encountered there has been nice.
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Come for the food, stay for the beer! The steak tacos are outstanding and you def want to try the sopas. I recommend the chicken. Everything is made fresh and their service is extremely fast. All of the staff are eager and earnest with their service. The BEER!!! Any place that has so many lagers (the hardest to brew so you know they're masters!) has to be a great spot. I recommend the Czech Yo Self.
google avatar

Victoria M.

Yelp
WOOOOOW!!! Do not sleep on this place!! The tacos, chips, queso, beer, etc. is AMAZING!! My daughter just moved to this part of town and we stumbled upon it. I will be visiting her a lot now *wink* You go to the counter to order and they are pretty fast getting your food.
google avatar

Jerry H.

Yelp
If you like beer please come to Tepeyolot. From what I heard they used to have a drag show. This is a quaint after work venue. Luis was very informative and started with a food truck during COVID. It is right around the corner from my job. I need Tepeyolot! I need it now. I will have to take my sopa to take home because I love all the beer choices. I brought the Helles yes but my favorite is La bruja!!!

Suzanne O.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Service- amiable counter Ambiance nice We had beers and nachos and steak burritos

Yelp
I just want to give a shout out to this awesome brewery/restaurant. This place knows beer and some delicious Mexican food. I'm an admitted beer snob. I freaking love this place. They ALWAYS have a beer offering that knocks my socks off. Today is was their Elite Equipo Kolsch. Top notch. The food is always awesome with an off the hook taco salad with barbacoa today for me. These dudes are hard-working at their craft. Service is friendly & on point. They have cool events like trivia, etc. Much love for Tepeyolot Cerveceria!
google avatar

Yelp
The Yelp event was great. The owner is awesome. He even took me on a tour of the brewery. The music was a little on the loud side.
google avatar

Yelp
First of all, for a brewery the food is fantastic! Had a great taco salad along with eloites dip and they were fantastic. But onto the beer...kolsch city! Decent variety of beers with a delicious Mexican Lager and an impressive range of Kolsch. Will be back!

Yelp
Sober January presents a lot of challenges and if you've made it this far you're probably both really proud of yourself and also ready to explode in indulgence of some sort. 15 days of smoothies, vitamins, Metamucil and of course no Bloody Mary's, cigarettes or whiskey had to come to a head especially after back to back Jaguar Wins and no partying and 70 hour work weeks. So upon the direction and blessings of the local culinary omnipresent omnipotent omniscient and benevolent Big Rich Knows Jax I headed to San Marco to Tepeyolot Cerveceria for some Burrito /Taco therapy. It's located on King Street which is San Marco'ish adjacent to a beautiful development called The Exchange(an urban revitalization effort). Parking is in rear and I arrived around 11:45 to a mostly empty but welcoming dining/bar area. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Joel, a polite fellow who mixes/pours drinks and brews beer . I asked and he explained that Tepeyolot is the Aztec god of Jaguars (clever). I ordered the Burrito with Chorizo Gringo style(cause I'm a Gringo) which is lettuce, Crema sauce(temp) and cheese. I also ordered Chicken Tacos on soft flour. Both came with Tortilla chips and choice of salsa or Queso so I tried both. Although the pictures look like familiar entrees at Burrito Gallery, Chipotle, Dos Vatos, Taco Lu or other spots(all of which I love), I have to insist that the flavor profiles here were delicious and unique. The chips were fresh and well seasoned. The salsa and Queso were delicious. Also the portions of meat on the tacos and in the burrito were very very generous(especially the tacos). I had to try the Jarritos Mandarin just because I see them all the damn time at Restaurant Depot and never had one(not my favorite but not awful or anything, prefer Fanta). Coca-Cola is still the reigning king of sodas. Up to bat and strike one and strike two were the overall amount of chips and the 2 oz portions of salsa and Queso($10 for 2 tacos ). I would have preferred 4 oz. The third pitch being the overall quality of the food, the establishment itself and Joel's good nature and this one goes sailing out of the park for a 2 run Homer. Overall value was perfectly reasonable for two entrees with additions and two soft drinks. Total was just under $30 I love this place and will be back even though I never get up to San MarcLantic Follow Big Rich Knows Jax on here and Instagram for great food insight and Food Trucks. P.S. This is a brick and mortar but there was a Food Truck out front that I'm guessing gets around town so follow Tepeyolot Cerveceria P.S.S...I still didn't drink alcohol (not till the Daytona 500 or JAGS Super Bowl -- at Tepeyolot Cerveceria.

Yelp
Some of my favorite Mexican food, and by far the best bar food, in Jacksonville. It's also one of my favorite breweries; there are many excellent beers at reasonable prices. It is ALSO an (excellent) full bar, so no fear if you don't like beer. There are events almost every night of the week, and service is prompt, kind, and attentive. Any one who likes any combination of the above would enjoy any night here. What more could you want?

Yelp
Great Vibes and Awesome people! That's the first thing that comes to mind when I now hear Tepeyolot. They have Craft beers , pinball machines and Mexican food with a great twist of their own and it was hot, fresh and fast, The staff was Amazing, Informative and Engaged throughout our time there. Apart from being a brewery it seems like they engage with the community as well, hosting a running club. How cool! Needless to say I will be returning and totally recommend.
