I had really high hopes for this place after wanting to visit for a few years, but from the moment I walked in, something felt off. I stood there for a good two minutes looking around with no one greeting me and no clear direction on how to order or whether it was self-seating. Eventually, I was asked if I was there for a comedy show—something I wasn’t aware was happening, which is fine—but I was then pressured to eat and be out within the next 40 minutes.
I fully support local events, but if you’re primarily a restaurant or bar, pressuring patrons to essentially eat and leave is a red flag. The person who took my order was great, but unfortunately, the food was incredibly lackluster. I ordered a burrito that sounded phenomenal on paper, yet what I received was basically just chicken in a flour tortilla. The chicken was tough and not very flavorful, which was really disappointing.
While I was eating, I could see nearby tables being cleaned and cleared for the comedy show, and even people who appeared to be hosting the event kept turning around to check whether we were still there or about to leave. It made the whole experience feel rushed and uncomfortable. On top of that, our table was dirty when we sat down, which was another turnoff.
Overall, the food and the vibe just weren’t it, which is especially disappointing because this place had been on my list for a long time. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to others. Again, I support local events, but don’t pressure diners or make them feel unwelcome from the start.
