Where To Eat In Miami When You're Running Late - Miami - The Infatuation

"Much like croquetas, pikliz, and late-night queso frito—tequeños are an essential part of Miami food culture. And not only do these dough-wrapped Venezuelan cheese sticks blow mozzarella sticks out of the water, but you can eat them in the passenger seat of your friend’s car, who is very pissed at you for taking so long. If that’s the case, share one with them, because Tequeñomania has some of the best cheese tequeños in Miami, as well as dozens more options. Our favorite is filled with carne mechada (similar to ropa vieja) and gouda, and it reminds us of a much-improved version of those taquitos you find at gas stations. Tequeñomania has many options ready to grab and go, but you can also ask them to prepare a few fresh for you and eat it inside." - carlos c olaechea, ryan pfeffer

Tequeñomania Review - Kendall - Miami - The Infatuation

"Tequeñomania, which has locations in Kendall and Doral, is one of the best places to grab these Venezuelan cheese sticks in Miami. If you’ve never had one, it’s basically the Miami version of fried mozzarella, except made with squeaky queso fresco and wrapped in a strip of dough to look like a bready barbershop pole. What we really love about Tequeñomania, though, is that they don’t stop at the traditional cheese tequeños. We really fell in love with the carne mechada and gouda filling featuring juicy shredded beef (kind of like ropa vieja) and gouda cheese that melt together into one of the tastiest phallic-shaped foods we’ve tried in Miami. Don’t forget to add a squirt of their addictive green sauce." - Carlos C Olaechea

This place is the closest to finding what we call in Colombia "Deditos de Queso" and Venezuelans call them Tequeños. Found this place after a recommendation from a friend and WOW they're amazing! They have a large variety of different flavors! My favorites are Pepperoni, Spinach and Cheese, Hawaino, Gouda Bacon, & Chocolate. Best of all, they're soooo cheap! Highly Recommended!

I gave 4-stars because there are only scannable menus. There is a giant picture of what they offer, but there are no prices on it or pictures. I did find it difficult to order, as the workers only spoke Spanish. But, they do have the best tequenos in Miami. You must try the Mediterranean! It is amazing.

Tequenos and Cachitos are cool! They're usually served with a light green garlic sauce. I prefer the Tequenos with ketchup though. I love the ham and cheese Cachito.

I am giving Tequenomania three stars because the tequenos are good, but they wanted to charge me for the green sauce . I don’t know how much because I don’t care about money, but I hate being robbed. I used to go there because my son likes two tequenos every time that we passed close . I always gave them one dollar as a tip because I just buy two and leave. The two girls working there are lately asking “ Do you want sauce ?”when I am ordering to pay. I asked them “but that is free in all places.” They said “ No , if you eat here , it is free, but if you take them I charge you” . I said “ Ok , I am going to eat them here.” I got my tequenos put a lot of sauce in the waxy paper that comes with the tequenos. Wrapped them and left. I felt very mad. The restaurant spent more sauce than if they give me the tiny container that comes with them to go. The workers will have to work mere refilling the bottle and I did not leave tip because of the way they told was not nice. Terrible.

After a few years of not visiting the area last Friday I did;And thought about Tequeñomania and the cravings lead me to go for late breakfast. I’m glad I did ! The tequeño “Breakfast “was delicious as remembered having many times in the past, the cheddar & beacon good and delish , the cafe con leche was very good as well. But the highlight was the attention provided by the staff ,if I recall correctly Maria Eugenia was A1 and what a such sweet lady She is! Young Daniela as well. I wish I could have them close to home; Probably will visit them every day.
