Google
Love this place , food is 10/10 best in round rock fosho ….. the happy hour nachos are so goooooooodddddd if you’re a nacho fan.

Google
We’ve been coming here for YEARS. We always dine in the bar and it feels like family. I’m not sure what changed lately but the cold salsa has been AMAZING and the Menudo is the best I’ve ever had. We’ve never been disappointed in anything we’ve ordered. This place is home to us. Patti, Alex and Jose are the best.

Katie A.

Google
The service is wonderful. The staff is great. The tortilla soup is to die for. My favorite are the cheese enchiladas, which I know is a simple item, but they are delicious. The margaritas are divine. Sometimes it's too loud, but it's a bar, so that is just part of the package.

Google
Did not go inside, but the drive through was very nice, attentive and all around great customer service. The food was amazing, and the guacamole is on point! Thank you again for the great food and service!!!

Google
I am a frequent guest at Tequila Bar and Grill, and today was my first disappointment. I ordered beef fajita nachos with sour cream only just to get home and see they not only added everything else but the food inside looked as if someone had started eating it with everything pushed around. Unacceptable, and thinking maybe I should start looking for a new go-to Mexican restaurant.

Google
Updated Review 5/23/24 We had beef enchiladas and a crispy taco. The salsa was exceptionally tasty and spicy. Tried the queso and it was a winner too. We really like this place. They take great care of their customers. Previous Review: Generous portions on the fajita lunch special. The beef fajitas could use more flavor. Pico de Gallo was excellent. Fresh avocado. Charro beans and rice were good. The salsa was reminiscent of chili powder, chips were good. Everyone was very friendly and the service was excellent.

Google
I love that they serve flour tortilla chips with the queso!

Regan B.

Google
Overall, it was pretty good, but it didn’t blow my mind or anything. I got the stuffed avocado, which was tasty. I would recommend. I think our server was just okay, she got a couple things wrong with our order, but nothing horrible.

Yelp
Started off with the perfect margarita, which was pretty dang good and tasty. For my entrée, I went with the chicken fajitas, which were pretty good... The chicken was a little dry because I think it was the breast rather than the thighs... The grilled onions helped with it a little bit, but overall, it was still a little dry for my taste. The Charra beans were very tasty and a great accompaniment to the meal. I sat at the bar and received outstanding service in addition to his great bartending skills Overall, great spot... Plus, I got a 5% discount paying cash.

Yelp
My husband ordered takeout fajitas and nachos for takeout. He had to throw 40.00 worth of food away. None of it was edible. Beans were watery, and the races was terrible. The meats tasted old and gad no flavor. The nachos were so bad and the quality was something I wouldn't feed my animal. We have been looking for good Mexican food and this wasn't it. I cannot believe he had to waste 40.00. Whataburger is better quality.
google avatar

Mya ..

Yelp
Worst breakfast tacos ever. Bacon is fatty and tasted so bad. Got a bacon and egg there was about 2 small pieces of bacon, basically got an egg taco... do not reccomend!

Yelp
Had a party of 10, everybody enjoyed their food, the atmosphere was relaxing, and our service was great. They got our order right and the dining area was very clean. We always enjoy eating here, either as a couple, or with family and or friends. It's always been good, but sometimes the service can be slow, but tonight our waitress was spot on.
google avatar

LaVonne S.

Yelp
Went back again and the service has not improved. We basically sat around before being able to order and after eating had to wait to flag down our waiter to get the bill. Once again the Jalapeño poppers were on fire but the rest of the meal was lackluster. I've now had five or six different main courses and have not found one that I enjoy as much as the poppers. At this point, think I'm just going to order appetizers. I did have a Pina Colada and that was yummy!

Yelp
Went for tacos on a friday night. Food was really good service at the bar was also great, bartender recommended the skinny margarita to my wife and it was really good. They also were doing karaoke night so it was an all around good night. Decided to go back for breakfast and it was just as good the beans were amazing and pretty much everything we ate was really good.

Yelp
Tequila B&G is a really cool Spot in Round Rock. They have music going in the bar the service is great and food is really good!! Great local Experience!!!

Louise S.

Yelp
Maybe it's because I'm from the valley McAllen area but, I dont know what type of Mexican food this is supposed to be. I ordered the chicken enchiladas plate - this dish was supposed come with a taco which I never received but that wasn't what was the issue. I have Never ordered chicken enchiladas that were served with flour tortillas - chicken that looked and tasted pre frozen - like the bag of pre grilled cooked chicken from HEB with a spoonful of melted velvetta - rolled and then just covered in melted nacho cheese. I wasn't able to cut it with a fork the plate was super hot and the side of rice and beans was just bland. I was disappointed becuase its right around the corner but, this is going to be a hard no for me. Going to have to stick to LUPES.

Yelp
Ive been here a few times. Its right across the street from Teravista, the school I went to and near my former employer. 1st few times we had the lunch fajita special. pretty good but prices were a lot cheaper back then, lol. Had the fish tacos during lent. pretty good but needed a sauce, like an avocado crema or tomatillo sauce. My favorite thing here is the nachos with fajita meat. I've had the menudo a few times. but the best thing on the menu is the mexican martini. Before babies, my husband and i would share the nachos and have a few mexican martinis and call it a night. it was our favorite friday night deal. We came back with both our babies and of course its different, but they do have high chairs. family friendly for sure. also, they have a drive thru that is exceptionally fast.

Yelp
So excited to find this local spot! Food was delicious. Drinks were fantastic! Loved the bartenders. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back!

Leticia M.

Yelp
Great Mexican Martini. Chicken soup also delicious My husband ordered carnitas, it tasted excellent

Yelp
First the good news...the atmosphere is wonderful. The greeting that we received when we arrived was very friendly, and the initial service was fast and very pleasant. Chips and salsa were delivered promptly, and while the chips were a bit thick for my taste, the salsa was excellent. We were there for lunch, and the food came out very quickly, and looked great. Unfortunately, that's the extent of the good news. I had a chicken quesadilla, beef tostada and beef taco. All of them were very attractive, and each of them was downright boring. Everything was bland and underseasoned. Even that yummy salsa couldn't save them. My SH had the cheese enchilada, and it appeared to have been filled with Velveeta. She always gets a to-go box for leftovers, and neither one of us wanted one for this meal. They had draft Modelo, which came out after I'd finished about half my meal, and didn't seem as good as the draft version I've had in the past...maybe it was just the food that was accompanying it. We really wanted to like the Tequila Bar, and it wasn't "bad", but there's just no reason to go back. Not recommended (for food at least).

Yelp
Authentic chicken tortilla soup with big pieces of celery and carrots. Our server was Francisco and he was extremely polite and attentive

Regina C.

Yelp
Food is good see picture below of waht I order . Drink need more tequila so brought a shot . Service is good I sat in the bar area . Its a decent bar no frills

Yelp
Our party of four ate here last week. The food was good but not great. It was loud mariachi music, too loud. And the service though not super busy wasn't the best. Burrito was huge so that's good. Wife's fajitas came with tons of meat and only a couple tortillas...weird. Food I would give 4 but service brought it down. Service we didn't get chips and salsa for a long while even after we had to ask for it. Never asked if we wanted refills in drinks. Really just uncaring and inattentive. Again the music...turn down a bit I would suggest. Overall it's ok and will prob go back cause it's close to my son's apartment. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here though.
google avatar

Carrolann B.

Yelp
Steak fajitas were sooo tender! Atmosphere for cinco de mayo was awesome, with karaoke and free tequila shots! Margarita was good, salsa was great. Prefer a thinner chip, personally. Wait time was only 20 minutes for a party of 6 on cdm with no resi.
google avatar

Talia T.

Yelp
My second time here, the staff is always friendly and we get seated right away. The food and drink are great. Food is about $20 a plate but they're not stingy with the portions! The play some good Spanish music which I love. The only con for me is it feels like the AC cranked up all the way, so it's freezing inside, this also make your food go from hot to cold in a matter of a few minutes.
google avatar

Linda F.

Yelp
We eat breakfast here occasionally, it is good except the bacon taste like leftovers plus it's cold. Don't like the hash brown patties that are like you get at McDonald's, prefer cube potatoes. Service always good

Yelp
My partner and I went for drinks and split a bowl pf soup. We were there a good long while, and there was no one in the bar area as it was around 4pm. The drinks were good, balanced and strong enough for the happy hour. We were in the bar, eating our snack and ordering drinks. We kept having to wave the server down - though she was behind the bar chatting up other staff. Now, every hard worker deserves a chill session without entitled customers snapping their fingers, but basic sever protocol in a timely fashion is to be expected. I said she could take the remaining soup but leave the chips and dips. She looked at me and dumped the dips on the chips and walked away with both. My guy and I laughed and were like "ooookaaayyy guess we didn't want those after all..." Still gave her a 25% tip because everyone can have an off day and deserves a living wage. Food in the past has been "meh" with fruit flies around my margaritas. 3 solid stars.
google avatar

Phuq T.

Yelp
Nothing really bad to say about this place. 1st time there and we were seated in a clean booth and got immediate friendly service, and the food came out quick, and they were almost at capacity so it was no fluke. We got the Rib-Eye Steak and Shrimp Tarasco and Beef Fajita Quesadillas. We will definitely be back. Great portion size for the money, a lot of value for athletic teenage boys.

Mical Juliet D.

Yelp
Want to say, thank you to the twins. They always brought great customer service! But today was my last day. I always ask for egg & cheese breakfast tacos (sometimes with potatoe) (((always with NO MEAT))) and again and again and today for the 11th time I had meat in my tacos. I normally, have to "turn around and go back" to get them re-done. I can't even EXPLAIN how many times I have been LATE to work, because my tacos had meat in them. It's unfortunate, how horrible the cook doesn't consider a customers order and to ever get it correct. Especially, when we have a meat allergen with pork/beef ‍‍ #The kitchen needs to care to get the orders right #Do better #No longer a loyal customer
google avatar

Lori K.

Yelp
Ordered via Door Dash, but that was NOT the issue! One item was missing and another item was incorrect. I tried several times to contact the Restaurant with getting a recording over and over that the Voice Mail was not set up!

Yelp
Love this place. Great food, great service! Staff are always super friendly especially the crew at the bar.

Yelp
Out of all the Tex mex places in round rock this is by far the worst. Let me say this place does have one redeeming quality and that's the ambiance, it's a neat looking spot but that is the only compliment I have. The service was AWFUL our waitress Mafe S gave me attitude about the dish I wanted to order saying the taco plate only came with 2 and was acting like I couldn't order a 3rd taco, she never came and refilled drinks or checked on us, she never removed empty dishes so our table was cramped, there is a little window where you can see back to the kitchen and we could see her back there just chatting away. To make it worse I had to call over another server to get her to grab my check, I figured she would stop by but after 10 minutes of us already being done eating and her still not checking in I was over it. I even watched the table behind us get up and leave because they were seated and she never came and got them drinks after about 10 minutes. Horrible waitress. What makes this dining experience worse was the food was low quality and insanely oily my tacos were basically filled with juice and it was messy, everything was falling apart and tasted like it was throwing in a bucket of oil AND it is INSANELY overpriced, it was 2 of us we order 2 taco plates and queso and it was 62 dollars. How do you have bad service, bad food and you're more expensive than the surrounding Mexican restaurants. I could go up the street and get the same meal for 35 bucks. Definitely won't return
google avatar

Melissa I.

Yelp
Fajitas! You must try them and trust me, you won't be disappointed! I couldn't even snap a picture because they were gone so quickly. The steak is cooked perfectly and they come with individual portions of the fixins...does it get any better? If that doesn't make you want to hop in the car and go, the decor and lighting is incredible as well! Plus the drink menu woooo! More than just your typical margaritas; they have all sorts of fun drinks to try. If you're looking for a new place with good fajitas, check them out!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
Enjoyed a relaxing evening after a hard day with happy hour frozen margaritas and steak fajitas for two. Great attentive servers at bar/restaurant.
google avatar

Alexandra L.

Yelp
Breakfast is always so good here and massive burritos. Add the green salsa on top for perfection. It does cost extra for the salsa but worth it. We typically sit at the bar. Bartenders are quick on refills. I wish they didn't raise their price on drinks though. It holds us back from returning more often.

Nicki S.

Yelp
Tequila Bar & Grill consistently delivers Great ambiance. Great food. Great service. The price is reasonable and the food portion is large
google avatar

Yelp
3 years later and nothing's changed...they still skimping on toppings. Ordered this morning through DD and while the taco could have been good if made better personally I won't ever find out because I will not spend another penny here. Ordered 2 beef fajita, egg, potato and cheese tacos, not entirely bad because there's a fair amount of meat and it is tender the other toppings are pretty much non existent...there's maybe 1-2 pieces of each of the other items.

Yelp
This great local joint in RR has reliably good margs and food. Sort of loud but adds to the fun

Yelp
We had two visits here. One dine in and the other take out. Our first visit was fabulous. It was a weekday evening, and I had a happy hour small margarita (no salt). It was very good and very reasonable. I asked our waitress if the carne guisada was spicy. I know it usually isn't, but I went somewhere recently where it was spicy. She said it wasn't and then brought me a sample of it. It was good,so I ordered the carne guisada plate with charro beans. I really liked everything on my plate; rice, beans, and guisada with flour tortillas. My husband ordered the beef fajita nachos (that is his favorite thing to order at Mexican restaurants). He really liked it and I liked the bite that he let me taste. Our take-out visit was not as great. I called my order ahead m, and waited in the drive-thru lane to pick it up. It was a long wait and I could have gone in to get it, but the parking lot was completely full. I ordered queso, rice, and charro beans. The queso was lacking flavor and the beans were spicy. I don't remember them being spicy when I ate in-house. Either way, I am not done with this restaurant and look forward to returning.

Yelp
Well it's been a long time since i was here Didn't care for it last time Today was not bad, but not great either Service was excellent That alone could bring me back

Jennifer J.

Yelp
The service was not just lousy but very lousy!!! Me & my guests had to remind the server that we use eating utensils and napkins & that water refills are needed! The manager, Antonio, was a very unhappy & unprofessional employee! Also, the tortilla soup "sucked"!
google avatar

Bob G.

Yelp
Awful. I used to really love eating here Food was served lukewarm. Just not appetizing

Morgan A.

Yelp
good local Mexican food very authentic! good happy hour lunch specials and a drive-through!

Yelp
Tequila Bar & Grill is less than 3 miles from our home. We were incented to try it by a coupon that came in the mail offering a free breakfast or lunch. We arrived around 11:30 am on a Monday morning, and were seated promptly. Breakfast ended at 11, so it was lunch for us. Our drinks, chips and 2 different salsas arrived quickly. The chips looked and tasted homemade and were really good. One of the salsas was warmed and fairly mild; the other seemed a bit spicier. Both were tasty. For lunch, the full dinner menu is available, plus there are 7 or 8 lunch specials for $8.99. Entrees include beans and rice, plus a small salad is included when ordering from the dinner menu. Unfortunately, the main courses we chose were very disappointing. I ordered the chicken enchilada lunch special and my husband ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas from the dinner menu. The beans and rice were both tasteless, and the "salad" that came on my husband's plate consisted of a few small bits of greens. My lukewarm "enchiladas" were 2 plain raw flour tortillas with chicken fajita meat (and nothing else) inside with a Velveeta-based queso ladeled on top. While the chicken was good quality and the tortilla appeared homemade, what I received bore no resemblance whatsoever to any enchilada I've ever had. My husband's so-called enchiladas were equally bad...and to add insult to injury cost $4.50 more based on menu pricing. I've had far better food for far less at many good Mexican restaurants. Service was excellent, but can never make up for truly awful food. Some restaurants deserve a second try, but Tequila Bar & Grill is a place I'd be unlikely to ever visit again...other than for chips and salsa.
google avatar

Jessy S.

Yelp
We have been here plenty of times bc we live right in the neighborhood. The food is always so good and service is SUPER fast. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing but it always taste fresh. We usually get El Muñeco enchiladas which are always awesome and today I tried the Carne Guisada and it was really good! Queso was okay for 7$
google avatar

Art J.

Yelp
Good service, plenty of seating, but the food isn't so good. Which explains why there is plenty of seating I guess. Way overpriced for portion size and food quality. Honestly disappointing experience I'm sorry to say. At least the margaritas were good tho so maybe visit for the bar, otherwise you can expect the food to seem like it's from the bargain bin at a canned foods warehouse.
google avatar

Marc S.

Yelp
Non-Chain Family run Mexican restaurant. If you want something less duplicated like you get from a chain then this place is worth giving a chance. Lots of seating, you don't usually need a reservation.
google avatar

Sandy P.

Yelp
Service was slow!, the booth we originally sat at was full of flies and dead flies; meat was cold. No longer worth coming to. Not even sure they are worth a 2 star review.

Dhara P.

Yelp
Awful experience !! Our server was rude and didn't treat us respectfully at all ! I asked him a question and he kept looking at his menu gadget not even looking up or saying one word for at least 60 seconds not engaging or saying something I would know he's listening to me .. but to the next table he was smiling, Engaging and so receptive because they were white older people and we are Indian . I'll never step into that place again ! I don't take discrimination lightly

Travis E.

Yelp
Have you ever gone to a Mexican restaurant in Texas and had to pay extra for salsa for tacos or any of your food. We'll be prepared to pay for any salsa you want to put on your food. Then on top of that they have a couple of girls that are rude and completely ignore you. Their food is mediocre for Mexican food. For the price you end up paying since you have to pay for salsa, you're better off just going to Taco Bell.

Brenda G.

Yelp
Food and service along with the cocktails are great! It is family friendly. They serve breakfast all the way through dinner. Check it out if you are in Round Rock.

Laura M.

Yelp
I visited tonight to try out the chicken tortilla soup. Unfortunately, the soup was not to my liking but that wasn't nearly the worst thing. The "service" or lack thereof was appalling. Aside from taking my order and bringing me water and limes, someone else brought me the soup but I still didn't have any chips or salsa. I eventually was able to flag the guy down and had to ask for chips which are typically on the table within seconds at most reputable Mexican restaurants. Several minutes later and 3/4's through the soup I picked through, I finally got chips. He never came back after that. After finishing the soup, I was frustrated and just wanted to pay and leave but the guy was nowhere to be found. I eventually asked for a manager. A few minutes later, a girl showed up and explained that the manager wasn't there but that she was the assistant manager. I tried explaining how bad the service was and that I just wanted to pay and leave and she said she would be back. As she was leaving, I told her that I didn't want to see the guy after that and she said 'ok' and left. Of course, she sent him back after I asked her not to. I didn't tip which goes against every fiber of my being but after that poor experience, I couldn't. It wasn't even busy and there were staff all over the place chatting and laughing with each other so it didn't make any sense to me at all to have such a hard time finding someone to provide service. It's going to take a while to forget this visit and go back, if ever.
google avatar

KaRhenda M.

Yelp
One of my favorite places on the planet!! Great drinks, the staff is always nice, and the beef fajitas are amazing. They get pretty busy because they're that good.

Diane S.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoy visiting Tequila Bar and Grill. Their food is great, restaurant fun and comfortable, and service friendly. Jenny has been our server on multiple occasions, and she is warm, kind and very helpful. She makes for a welcome visit and is an asset for the restaurant. Thank you, Jenny! Diane Round Rock, TX

Yelp
Wife and daughter love this place! We have been here 3 times in the last month or so. It has now become our go to spot for texmex! We usually get there around 5:30 on a Friday so it's not too crowded like Lupe where you would have to wait. The food is solid and my wife loves the drinks! Service is always solid they are starting to recognize us too which is always nice. We definitely recommend this spot especially if you live nearby and need a solid texmex spot in your life

Layla F.

Yelp
This place has a separate bar from the restaurant it's nice inside beautiful art displayed. Great selection of a variety of foods. The quest dip is served with fresh tortilla chips custom made to order. All our food was delicious and big servings that you could take home. Overall, I highly suggest this place to anyone in the Round Rock area.
