"If you’re a fan of dry-aged meat, pulled pork or quality burgers, you’ve come to the right place. Incredibly tasty food and an interior with exposed bricks and classic Dutch stained glass windows. Winner of the best burger of The Netherlands, the Burgeresse is 150 grams of Scottish Angus mixed with Japanese Wagyu beef. Burgerlovers’ paradise!" - Mangrove

The 20 Best Restaurants In Amsterdam - Amsterdam - The Infatuation

"Eating fries is pretty essential in Amsterdam, and while there is surprisingly little variation in town, the real spin is in the dozens of sauces. And yet the friethuisjes frequented by most usually list the same ones from the mayo-like frietssaus to the nutty oorlog. Not at Ter Marsch though, which has one that’s topped with black truffles, parmesan, dried sausage, and fried parsley. Get a portion to go at their Kalverstraat outpost—and for a heavier meal, the burgers are also worth a try. If you’d rather sit and eat, head to their Vijzelstraat location, where tables are ample." - paolo espanola

Google
I'm a big fan of basic food done well. Unfortunately I didn't read the menu properly before sitting down, and the burgers here were all too fancy for my peasant palate. I managed to find one that looked decent with a few ingredient removals, and it was pretty tasty. They also correctly didn't include the things I asked to be removed, which isn't always a given at some places. The chips were fantastic, too. Friendly and helpful service. Nice corner location to sit at and watch the world go by.

Google
Best burger? No. Good burger? Yes. The De Burgeresse burger at a whopping €17+ isn’t all that great but is still a good burger. The Bali Spice Fries, however, are in a league of their own! I’d visit again just to stuff my face with this fantastic version of French fries. The service was sweet and efficient and the interiors were bright and cheerful. Would I go again? For the fries, definitely and maybe to try another burger.

I’ve visited Ter Marsch&Co. several times, and I usually order the Gozira along with a beer. The food is consistently good, and the atmosphere is really nice. Most of the time, the service is fast, friendly, and attentive, though when the place gets really busy, service can slow down a bit or be less focused. Still, I definitely recommend it and will be coming back!

Google
I tried the fries with cheese sauce at Ter Marsch & Co and they were delicious! The portion was generous, and the fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cheese sauce was rich and creamy, a great match. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but the quality and taste make it worth it for a treat. Perfect for a quick snack while walking around the city!

Google
We tried Ter Marsch three times. The first time was awesome. The other two times was below average. Burgers were cooked properly but the bun was at least 3 days old. They tried toasting it. I don’t have an issue with a toasted bun but at least ask me if I was prefer it that way. I also had to remove the garnish. It wasn’t a terrible experience I have to say. Don’t worry though that first experience still lingers so we may be back. The photos are from the first experience.

Google
Ter Marsch loves to brag in their menu what awards certain dishes won but are you really expecting me to believe that the fries in the picture (€10,50 btw lol) are a price winner? 2 small pieces of baby ketjap, some sauce and spring onion. Burgers were watery for some reason. Nothing special. The prices here are outrageous. 6€ for a coke. 10,50 for fries. Never coming back.

Google
I expected the burger to be more flavorful considering the price. It was okay, but the meat seemed frozen rather than fresh.

Google
Really nice burgers and cocktails. Very juicy and many choice on the menu! The waitress was very friendly and helpful with making choices. The atmosphere was also very nice. The host nonetheless was not very helpful or happy. She seemed lost when we asked her where we could sit and couldn’t put everyone’s order in the right place which was a bit crucial since we changed every order a bit, like no bacon etc. other than that we had a very nice meal!

Yelp
Read the reviews before going here. They try too hard, what seems like a good simple burger is inundated with unnecessary flavors. You'll leave disappointed if you're looking for a delicious hole in the wall burger. 3/10. Thumbs down. Even the French (not known for burgers) are better. I disassembled my burger to eat it all separately bc the flavor combination wasn't cohesive. The burger itself feels like it's been "glued" together, pre made and bought- but not home made. This is not a cafe burger, it's a lunchroom from high school/chain restaurant burger consistency. The drinks are great, fries ok, icky sauces, too over done with garlic aïoli, or mushroom sauce... not great. My suggestion is to hit a chip shop you walked by and turn around. Best!xxx

Yelp
Ter Marsch and Co was such a fun stop while exploring Amsterdam. I ordered the croquettes and the loaded fries and they did not hold back. The croquettes were perfectly crispy with a creamy filling and the dipping sauce was addictive. The loaded fries were a full-on masterpiece piled high with cheese, bacon, herbs, and all the good stuff. Every bite was rich, messy, and exactly what you want when you are in full vacation mode. The vibe inside was lively and casual and everything just hit the spot. Definitely a must-try if you are looking for something indulgent and delicious.

Yelp
Cool place, we just stopped by to get a snack and ending up eating a ton of fries. They have a great selection, you can't go wrong, highly recommend

Yelp
I rule from Southern California - the Capitol of Burgerland. So maybe the level of the bar in my burger reviews is inflated. I believe the level burgerdom at Ter Marsch is good quality - yet mediocre in taste. The bun is stale. At least mine was. I'm not sure if it was intended to be in that condition. The burger is thick and juicy, but lacking in the fresh beefiness that I wanted. What sets it apart is the aioli sauce - really top notch. The lettuce fell out. Shredded lettuce would have been better. The problem was the hockey puck burger sat high in the middle of the bun. When you bite into it, you get a mouthful of bun, and the hockey puck gushes out the side. If you bite into the hockey puck the rest of the ingredients gush out the side and down your hand, and you're left with disintegrated stale bun pieces. Sweet potato fries were ok, and the truffle sauce sent it over the top. But honestly, it's middle of the road in Southern California Burger Land.

Yelp
Service was lovely but the food was not so great. The restaurant looks trendy and updated but is definitely geared toward tourists and hotel guests. If you want a burger it'll do.

Yelp
Ter Marsch & Co is a hamburger restaurant located about 1.5 km away from Central Station. It is an extremely popular location so is normally really busy so would recommend getting their early to secure a seat and be served on time. The sweet potato fries were great and hamburgers were pretty good. Service took awhile with how busy it was and interior felt very cramped. Still a great hamburger option while in Amsterdam and would recommend giving it a shot if you're craving fries and a burger.

Yelp
Tried the old dutch, meat and cheese/sauce were very good but the bun was so dry it might as well have been cooked three days ago. Complete waste of potential. so close to being great but yet so bad as it was served (Also the fries were probably fried an hour before and kept under a heating light.. )

Yelp
Really hated the hamburgers here. We wanted simple burgers with no seed on bun like one no cheese and one with cheese. My wife wanted medium well and I wanted medium rare. They put cheese on hers and not mine and switched it in the kitchen gave her my medium rare and I got the well done. It was really sloppy hamburgers with too much ingredients. They made a fresh simple cheeseburger for me but the meat didn't taste that great. I took it with me and threw away. Two burgers and Prosecco was over 51 for me. Too much. Not recommending.

Yelp
Stop in this spot on Kalverstraat. It's a perfect spot for a quick bite between shopping. The cone fries here are beyond delicious. The Fluffly fries and they're sauces will have you wanting more. They also have burgers, and soft drinks. You can seat inside or take it to go.
google avatar

Nina D.

Yelp
The food was ok. The fries weren't super crispy and the cheese is only concentrated on top with little underneath. The inside of the restaurant is also quite dirty and not a cozy place to enjoy your meal.
google avatar

Scott R. D.

Yelp
My first fries with mayo. They were delicious and the staff was really nice. It's also a cosy seating area.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE, especially if you are a tourist the service was terrible... drinks took over 20 minutes to come out and then food another half hour after that. When the food came they totally messed up my burger and served it plain burger and 2 pieces of lettuce... i asked for no bacon and no tomato pickles NOT PLAIN.. overall a terrible experience and would not recommend to fellow travelers.

Yelp
There is a reason this is the best burger in Amsterdam! I ate at Ter Marsch in Rotterdam five years ago and I still dreamed of that burger so I had to stop while in Amsterdam. I had the Gojira which had an outstanding flavor profile. It comes as two sliders which is perfect to savor the flavor. The beer is also amazing!

Yelp
Absolutely amazing burgers in the Flower Market District of Amsterdam! I was not expecting absolutely phenomenal food. We had such a pleasant evening eating amazingly flavorful hamburgers, fries and sweet potato fries with such sauces as truffle Mayo and also chipotle. Here's a surprise; the draft Heineken tastes amazing ( I guess because it's brewed here in town). I normally dislike sitting outside but the temperature was 72 with no humidity Very highly recommended!

Yelp
This hidden jem located right next to the flower market in Amsterdam has the best burger I've ever had out of the USA. I tried one of the local IPAs and it was great. Service was good, friendly and fast. If in amsterdam I highly recommend

Yelp
Great spot for drinks when you walk along the canal(flower market). People watch and have a drink or burger. We didn't try the food but it all looks amazing. Staff is friendly and they are open till 1am, late night eats. I see they do have a veggie burger and also have some ipa's etc so for all the Americans that are needing some craft choices they do have them here.

Yelp
Awful food. Our burger tasted like it was bad. Both of us spit it out and couldn't get the taste of bad meat out of our mouths for hours. I've had aged meat before, this wasn't that. Wilted salad, entire place smelled of mildewy bar rag. Really a shame bc it's an excellent location at the flower market and nice, attentive service.

Yelp
Good burgers. Perfect central location. It is part of the NH hotel building, separate entrance from the side. Good menu, good meat and burger served right with great bread buns and all the good fillings promised. Fries are optional but are good with nice sauces. Service is not stellar but it makes its job. It would be a 4 star for quality but it is a bit too pricey. It's the location's cost probably and it is in a perfect touristic trap location. I was there for lunch so not too crowded even on Saturday. Drinks of any type, still over priced. They make a pretty good espresso, Lavazza.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! It made my first experience in Amsterdam amazing. They truly proved what Amsterdam was all about with their service along with their food as well. The burgers were amazing and the drinks. We loved our server Rem!
google avatar

Yelp
The best burger in Amsterdam! The meat is perfectly cooked, juicy & delicious! They only use the best quality meet from local farms such as Wagyu & Dry Aged beef. We tried the The Royal Dutch with Dry Aged Rib Eye & Japanese Wagyu and the 'De Burgeresse' with Scottish Angus beef & Japanese Wagyu with french fries & local beers. To die! Sooo Good! Definitely one of the best burgers I've ever had, if not the best! Super friendly servers, great cool space near the Flower Market. Must try if you're in Amsterdam. 5 stars. Highly recommended for groups. Cool chill vibes.

Yelp
This place has a cute vibe! The waiters were awesome about our keto burger requests (no bun). Sadly the burgers were way overcooked. The truffle mayo is delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
A New place in town. It is famous for it's burgers. They are already famous in Rotterdam And now it is Amsterdam's turn. I started with the Fries with truffel mayo. They are very good. Golden Brown And the mayo is delicious. They gave me some pork belly to try And it was outstanding. Next time I will go for the burger! They will see me again. The location is also excellent as there is not much good in the Neighborhood. Keep up the good work.

Yelp
One of the best burger I never had. They only use quality meat, it is well cooked. The food is well prepared, there is a lot of choice on the menu but not too much, you can taste their delicious fresh fries which are really good too! The staff is really friendly, not the fastest but it isn't really long. Also a good place to just have a drink, the beverage list is pretty wide and the vibe is great.
google avatar

Karim S.

Yelp
Hmm, Overpriced with no doubt. I expected more for what they claim on their Deliveroo page "The best in Amsterdam", here is what i did not like: - Bread was so greasy - The meat not evenly cooked - The taste of the meat definitely had better ones before - Fries was not spiced well enough as well Hope this will help future customers and help businesses owners to improve/tweak their ingredients.

Yelp
We saw a sign that said they had won an award for best burger in the Netherlands. We shared their award winning wagyu beef burger with pancetta, onions, farmer cheese and their house sauce which tasted like a curry mayonnaise. Very good and cooked a perfect medium rare. Ordered a side of fries with truffle mayo for dipping that were good too.
google avatar

Kristi S.

Yelp
This may have been the most unique burgers we've ever had! Highly recommend this spot! This picture doesnt really do the flavors justice! But trust me go go go!!!
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
Good burger joint. The service can be a bit slow as it is in a busy busy area. The burger and fries are both very good, served in cute cups/plates.
google avatar

Tibo H.

Yelp
We waited more the half an hour on our Burgers. Then they came really cold and the meat was not even cooked !! More like worst burgers in Amsterdam Ps: the restaurant is really cold and too expensive
google avatar

Yelp
Friends keep wanting to come here, for whatever reason, so I've been here three times now. I'm starting to realize maybe the best thing here is their music playlist. The burger I had today wasn't very good at all -- toppings unevenly distributed, a dry and flaky bun, and a dense, hard patty. Last time, the burger was better. Maybe that was because the kitchen was busy, unlike today. Then, the kitchen got our fries sauce order wrong. Sigh.
google avatar

Maya F.

Yelp
One of the best burgers ever! The sauces for the fries are amazing, and so is the asparagus that comes with a poached egg on top. Definitely worth it!
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Great patio space near the Flower Market. Selection of local beers and the friendly server advised a great off menu choice too. We had fries with cannabis sauce and they were crisp and delicious.
google avatar

Teresa M.

Yelp
Not traditional Holland fare, but a nice change. Probably the best burger I've ever had and big enough to share w my husband. Side of fries w truffle mayo. Ketchup is not American style BUT ALSO a welcome change! Almost like salsa. Ask for it! Serves local and not-so beers. In a busy touristy area so lots of good people watching too. Go here!

Edmond D.

Yelp
Dropped in for lunch Fantastic burger and great fries. I had the royal dutch the meat was super tender and the sauce just great. For the fries I had the truffle mayonaise, very good. Oh and the music was good with view if the adjoining market on this beautiful Saturday. For gods sake come here and not the McDonalds across the street. recommended

Alan Y.

Yelp
We picked this place to get out of the rain, but found a nice friendly eatery. Giant, juicy Royal Dutch burgers. We order the fries with rosemary and lime, and another with garlic. We'd order only the garlic next time. Our server was a dear young lady, explaining that they were short staffed. We didn't really notice.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow what an amazing place for hanging with mates over a meal. I ordered a great burger with farmhouse cheese and it was delicious. They have won the best burger in Amsterdam for a good reason. They also have awesome tunes to get you pumped for a night out in Amsterdam

Daniel K.

Yelp
Food was very good but service horrible. Got our burgers and they were very good. Once we finished no one came back to check on the table. I stopped the waiter and asked for the check, but he ignored me. Waited another 15 minutes and finally got the check. It was a little bit ridiculous.

Deborah G.

Yelp
Terrible service. They spilled our beer serving and didn't take it off or replace it. Asked for burger well done snd it was raw. Worst experience in awhile.
