"Recently opened as a new all-day cafe and bar on the Lower East Side, this spot offers coffee and tea during the day and sool, anju, and wine in the evenings. Daytime brings espresso, a coffee omakase, and a tea service served in a semi-hidden tatami room, while after 5 p.m. there’s a menu of small to mid-sized Korean snacks that pair well with makgeolli, soju, and wine. Standouts include crispy kimchi chips with yuzukosho guacamole, both versions of jeon with shrimp or pork, and a composed abalone jang bap served in a shell and layered with oyster mushrooms, with hot brothy gamte somen with pops of pickled shimeji waiting on cold or comfort-seeking nights." - Melissa McCart

📍Tera (41 Essex St, New York) is a calm, minimalist stop on the Lower East Side ✨ Tera is the kind of cafe that rewards subtle flavors and quiet moments. I ordered the matcha 🍵 ($7) it is perfectly whisked with a smooth and clean taste. They are also known for financier (2 for $8). I tried the seaweed (savory) and yuja (ie yuzu) flavors. both of which were really good. The texture is like a soft butter cake 🍰 The space stays relaxed and understated, making it easy to slow down and actually taste what you are having. They have a few bar seats and 2 seats by the window with free wifi. The space turns into a wine bar at night 🍷

One of the best coffee experiences anywhere! Got the coffee omakase and got to try Hydrangea and Ondo roasters. The co-ferment focus is genius. All slow bar coffees with the exception of a nice cortado. Only been open 1 month but already a top tier coffee shop in town. Everything about this space and experience is intentional. Exceptional service. Run don’t walk over.

One of the best coffee experiences I’ve ever had - the coconut matcha latte was truly excellent and among the best hot drinks I’ve ever had and the best matcha latte I’ve ever had. Lovely atmosphere, very quiet and peaceful.

stylish new cafe and bar on LES with a nice selection of teas! I went before 4 for the cafe, and tried a hot matcha latte and two financiers (yuzu and mugwort); everything was delicious. It has a decent amount of seating, but doesn't seem like the place to sit for a long time. I'll definitely be going back to try more of the menu.

Coffee and tea tasting, and open late night? What's not to like? I personally love tea and coffee at later times and it was a nice pre-dinner spot to go to for some chill but a little fancier tasting. Staff is really friendly and chill and drinks are fragrant. It's just a great place to chat with a date or friend. Will be back to try other variations. The financiers were yummy albeit a bit small for the price.
