We used to be be regulars at the Theresa's in Golden Valley. We used to eat here at least once a week. But now it's off our list.
After a couple meals that were not up to par right before the New Year, we took a break from the restaurant. Tonight, we decided to go back with the hope that things go better, but they haven't.
My partner ordered Jarocho, which he liked, but he didn't get the corn tortillas he had asked for twice. I ordered the Alhambra al pastor with flour tortillas. The tortillas were the straight out of the package and not warmed on the griddle before serving with the meat.
Finally, it was happy hour, and we both ordered mango margaritas. There was absolutely not alcohol in them. None! I brought this to the server's attention. Instead of checking the drink, the server informed us that the bartender assured there was booze in it, but if we wanted more, we could pay another $5 for a floater. I didn't drink mine and asked it to be removed from the bill, but the server did not take it off.
It's so sad to see a neighborhood restaurant that used to be good fail so miserably on multiple occasions. We just won't be back.
Looking for decent Mexican food and a good margarita? Don't go to Theresa's in Golden Valley!
