"While it’s hard not to order at the always-appealing milanesa de res torta at Adelita’s, it’s even harder to order one without a margarita, especially during happy hour. The Mexican fare here is among the best in an area ripe with competition. On Fridays and Saturdays, Adelita’s is a great destination for late night food, drinks, and karaoke." - Eater Staff

Google
Service was great.Atmosphere was fun.Food was so so would not come back. To tamale's had a lot of Masa, they do not make their own tortillas, they are store bought. Beans were very runny. Rice had good flavor

Google
Great food. Great menu selection, and excellent salsa, and house sangria. Service was a little slower but the place was busy and the server was friendly and nice. Came in for lunch with my brother and we had a great time.

Google
I went there because I love Taquitos and it's not available in many other places. However, I found the taste of the sides and tortilla chips rather bland. The service was OK. There is an up charge for CC payments.

Stopped here for lunch with a coworker and had some lunch. The food is very close to authentic as Mexican can get, and our server was helpful. I had the Tres Maria’s and my coworker had the Camarones a la diabla. Both were very good and filling!

Google
Very blan, not much flavor. Came out of the kitchen very quickly. Server did not know how the food was prepared, cooked with onions or not in the meet. She said no, it was. Asked for lemon or lime for our water twice, server said no problem never brought it. This was mid day there was only 2 other people there. 🙄 Salsa definitely had better.

So we were in from the Chicagoland area for the week and found this gem. Food, service and cost were all great. We picked items from the Lunch menu and everything was excellent. This community is lucky to have them. If we ever make it back to the area this is on our list. Thanks

Google
Come hungry and leave happy. Like a lot of American Mexican restaurants, the portion sizes are huge. I would suggest splitting a meal as they are so big. The food is delicious and so are the drinks! The chips and salsa are complimentary! They have a pretty good Happy Hour and the drinks come in multiple sizes. The ambiance is great. I love the authentic Mexican music they play.

Google
Very nice Mexican restaurant with friendly servers, nice atmosphere and some good / authentic food. We were a party of 11 people and they accomodated us really well in a spacious table. Outstanding -and free- chips and salsa. The queso dip was not as thick as I like so I do not recommend that. We tried the beef fajitas (very good) and the carne asada. The carne asada is not a huge plate but it was good. My friends had the Molcajete and if you like spicy food, it's amazing, feeds 3-4 people (they say it's for 2!) and it comes with a lot of meat, fish and shrimps. They have nice desserts too. We had churros and flan and they were both really good.

Yelp
Got to go back after 4 years not being in Minnesota full tome. Food is just as excellent as I remember the steak they use for the steak quesadilla have this pepper kick that is hard to describe but is awesome. Wife loved the arroz con pollo as always. Interior hadn't changed and hadn't gotten worse looked like how we remembered it. Added to the nostalgia. Service early Sunday was slow. Took 10 minutes to get our drinks, with only 1-2 tables other than ours occupied. All in all the food makes this place for a winner for good and classic Tex Mex.

Yelp
I stopped by and ordered takeout. This is my first visit ever. I was told the food was great. I ordered 2 pick 2 combo (12.00) Special Burrito I got home sat down to eat. The Burrito was too salty. I was like okay. I then tried the chicken Quesidilia. The same thing. This was on 07/14/2025 just before noon. I immediately attempted to call them but, no answer. Okay, it was lunchtime. I called later that day. I left my number for the manager to call call me. No call. I called today 07/16/2025. I was told the manager was not there and to call back. I even left a tip. No more tips for me on takeout. I have been in the fence about tips for takeout. I'm frustrated. I should not spend $35.00 for food saturated with salt. Clearly no one tasted the food that was prepared. I'm sure I'm not the only one that day found the food to be salty.

Yelp
I have been working near this Teresa's for over 10 years now and just found it last week. A friend took me there for lunch. Solid taco with rice and enchilada for less than $10 for lunch.

Yelp
I've come here a handful of times for dinner and this time I just came for drinks and dessert. The service is always pretty good - everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff, and bussers. The food however isn't amazing, don't get me wrong - it's good but doesn't really stand out. It's also pretty expensive. This time I got the raspberry frozen margarita and it was ok. It didn't seem very strong at all. The chimicheesecake was fun, pretty tasty but kind of wish I went without it. Doesn't blow me away, would come back if invited but don't think I'll go out of my way to get here. 3.5

Yelp
Wow-za. Definitely lived up to the hype! Every single thing I had was next level tasty! I had a Paloma that was unbelievably smooth and tasty!! I had Al Pastor street tacos which, again, were soooo good. Fresh, tasty, juicy! Even the beans and rice on the side were better than any I've had! Free chips and salsa of course, but trust me, DON'T fill up on them hahaha. Prices were fine! $10 for the cocktail, $14 for 3 tacos and sides. Happy hour weekdays 4-6. The service was friendly and quick. The place is a little dark haha, but otherwise a good vibe! 10/10 stars!

Yelp
I love the happy hour here! The $5 margaritas are a generous size and very tasty (probably a little light on the tequila but still good). The menu is plentiful and took me awhile to decide what to order. Since I happen to be here during happy hour I tried the carne asada fries which was more than enough for a stand-alone meal. However, next time I think I will ask for no jalapeños and no bacon. The decor is very blah but the service was nice. Overall it's a nice homey Mexican restaurant. I will be back!
google avatar

Baylee B.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican chain restaurant! The BEST salsa! Great happy hour deals (and margarita deals on Tuesdays). HUGE menu with plenty to choose from, no wrong choices!
google avatar

Yelp
Decent food, service is slow but attentive . Prices are affordable if you avoid the super sized -watered down " specialty drinks "

Yelp
Fun place for families or date night. This place has an amazing happy hour menu from 2-6pm and 9pm- close. Some good finds that will leave you wanting more of this terrific place. Margs are $5 during happy hour and the trick is to get it 1/2 frozen 1/2 on the rocks NO ICE! It's the only way to enjoy their margs. If you are in the mood for beef or shredded tacos (hard or soft) get the 2 happy hour tacos for $6. Super good comes with lettuce and cheese and you will be full. I would recommend the soft. If you are really hungry get the al a carte tacos soft with grilled chicken, it comes with lettuce and cheese and there are 3 nice size tacos to devour. Better yet - if you want grilled chicken tacos get the 2 quesadillas off the happy hour and there you go you have what you want. You will get charged extra for the grilled chicken but your tortilla will be nice and crispy and you will get sour cream, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. Now you know all the favorites and tricks...but one more. The WINGS - yes get the habanero sauce and your will get the hot sweats. They really are decent. The chips and salsa are great. Salsa is chunky and full of flavor. This place really is a great find!!

Yelp
Great food, drinks and service. Their cheese sauce is amazing! Also very kid friendly with a variety of kid choices that include Mexican combo favorites.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to go to get good food and a good margarita. The staff is always really friendly and efficient. The food comes out super quickly. They have a nice variety of seating including a bar to sit and watch sports or the dining room with bigger tables. The parking lot is huge and makes it convenient to stop in and get some food. I get the enchiladas verdes every time and it's always really good. They have really good happy hour deals on food and drinks as well. Recommend checking it out if you're looking for a good margarita!

Yelp
My family loves Mexican food and we had been here in the past but tonight's experience was will probably be our last. First, the food was Ok but we asked twice for more chips and got none. And the order was messed up with food coming out, out of order. Such as appetizers after the main meals. Service was poor, especially for a half empty restaurant at 7pm. The waiter never asked if we wanted refills on drinks, never brought water out for the toddler. We were there celebrating my grandson's 12 birthday and mentioned a few different times we were celebrating. No celebration here. He did get a dessert offered after my daughter went up front and complained. But never again will we come here for a celebration. Staff was poorly organized. Next time we feel like Mexican food, we will be going to El Loro, better service hands down!!

Yelp
Teresa's is the traditional "American"Mexican restaurant. Service was fast but the flavors weren't that impressive. I beef in my chimichangas was too salty. It was very busy for a Saturday night. It took 5 staff to figure out what table to seat me and my guest at. I prefer Taco Teresa's and would choose to go there instead.

Ashlee V.

Yelp
There was a misunderstanding with me ordering because I didn't know the name of what I wanted but they were super nice helping me after and the service is always amazing as well as the food. I'm not usually a big Mexican food eater but since I went here I've been obsessed with Mexican food. Everyone was super nice not just out waiter. Definitely try it out if you're in the area
google avatar

Ryan M.

Yelp
This is for sure one of the better "standard" Mexican restaurants in the cities. They have amazing chips and salsa brought out to your table straight away and they keep on coming if you want them! We almost filled up by the time we got our main dishes! All the food was incredible. With the chips, I split a chimichanga and that was plenty of food. I forgot to get a picture as we devoured it right away the service was also very prompt even with our big table and were very polite. The place doesn't look super special but they have a cool fish tank and it gives off traditional Mexican restaurant vibes. Definitely need to come back!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch and the service was incredible, food was delicious, and prices were good.

Yelp
Worst meal i ever had! Went there on Cinco De Mayo with my daughter. Ordered an enchilada with chicken. Saddest meal I have ever seen! 2 small, white flour tortillas with diced up chicken. So dull! No spice or flavor at all. The sauce (I ordered on the side) tasted just like Campbells tomato soup! Even my daughter thought so. I got a plate full of lettuce and some diced tomatoes. I asked for some cheese (which I thought an enchilada would have already). And I was brought some cold, white cheese that was very bland also for an extra $2.00. I love Mexican food! And don't usually write bad reviews but this was sooo bad I just had too. I paid about $20 for a meal that didn't fill me up or was the least bit impressive! I'm afraid I will never be back.

J W.

Yelp
So quick. Ordered over the phone for pickup. It was ready in minutes. Quick and friendly service. All of the meals were pretty tasty. I would just avoid the chimichanga if your hungry. Its portions size is underwhelming and it is supposed to be deep fried. Usually it should have a crispy bubbly looking appearance. These however were about the size of soft street tacos and did not look deepfried. Redeeming value is they are very tasty. However, if your hungry, the California Burrito is massive!

Yelp
I went here for my aunts birthday dinner a few weeks ago. It's a typical Mexican restaurant. the place was packed, but the absolute lightning speed our waitress not only took our order and the kitchen got our food out. The whole thing took about 10 minutes when I was easily expecting a minimum of 20+ minutes. My order was wrong, but it was still very good, absolutely covered in queso. You can easily get two meals from whatever dish you order there, so a nice bonus not cooking the following night.

Trieu H.

Yelp
You can come here for a nice and quiet lunch on a weekday. I came with a collegue. The food is tasty as well. And the waitress was attentive.

Tim H.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken burrito from Teresa's for takeout. Ate the burrito at home, and then proceeded to have an awful case of diarrhea, stomach cramps, and vomiting for the whole night. I then contacted the restaurant and very quickly they responded that all food complaints like this should be directed to the local hospital. What? No apology, no refund, nothing. I then contacted another location to see what they would say, and they also were very quick to respond that "all of these cases of food poisoning should be handled by the local hospital." I asked what they meant by "all these cases"? He didn't respond. I then started to check reviews on other websites and saw that the reason they are so quick with this response, is that it seems to happen often at Teresas. STAY AWAY!

Jay M.

Yelp
The first time I went I did takeout. My wife said she'd never do that again. The second time we dined in. It was good but the vegetarian menu is confusing. You sort of have to order meat enchiladas without the meat. The margherita had no booze at all. We tried to do take out again and you can't order cheese enchiladas on line so I had to drive there to order cheese enchiladas. Freaking weird. I brought it up to the staff. They just stared at me. They will not answer their phone. I hope they don't screw up the food or that will be the last time my wife will try Theresa's.

Yelp
This is a great authentic Mexican food restaurant! They have daily specials so check online for them. We came on a Wednesday at 5:30 and got seated right away. They were very accommodating and let us switch seats. Wednesday is all day happy hour. Margaritas are five dollars! Then they have a select few appetizers at a discounted price. They bring you chips and salsa right away. I tried the texas fajitas. It comes out a sizzling hot plate that smells amazingggg. They were perfect in every way. Ugh so tasty! It' comes with three tortillas which wasn't enough. I had plenty of filling left to take home but no tortillas. Oh well, I have some tortillas at home I can use. I really enjoyed the food and service here!
google avatar

Alyana S.

Yelp
I came here for a work happy hour and it's great for big groups. Our server was great for our big group. I enjoyed their chips and salsa! Then we went for their happy hour time so I got their soft shell tacos for $6 and their medium size margaritas is not medium size it's quite big and that was about $5 for their happy hour special! Will definitely have to come back again!

Yelp
Delicious food and great service at Teresa's on my birthday! Nice atmosphere at the Golden Valley location (haven't been to the other locations to compare). Had a celebratory Margarita which was also delicious. Can't wait to come back and try other menu items.
google avatar

Yelp
I give this place three stars because of the accommodating staff. I found them to be personable and prompt. The food is bland, filling TexMex offered up in generous portions and, while prices are not a bargain in my opinion they are reasonable. Definitely better when fresh, everything seems to become a largely indistinguishable vaguely Mexican mush as leftovers. Even when piping hot and visually more appealing the cuisine is average at best. I had a Chimichanga and the Enchiladas Rancheros (with pulled pork). They both were accompanied by rice and refried beans, sour cream and a dollop of guacamole. I would describe each dish as OK. Certainly nothing to write home about or go out of your way to obtain. If you find yourself in the vicinity, are hungry and craving something faintly south of the border it's possible to do worse. Not what I would call authentic but generally well prepared and served.
google avatar

Diane B.

Yelp
I needed a quick lunch so stopped in to order to go. Meanwhile I had a margarita while they made my delicious lunch. Love the taco salad. Chips and salsa hit the spot while drinking my margarita and waiting for my food. Delightful experience.

Yelp
A local favorite of ours, the best comfort food. Just about everything on the menu is a different combination of the same things, but it's yummy. Prices are reasonable, margaritas are strong, and I've never been disappointed by the service. Probably not the best Mexican in the twin cities, but I always go home full and happy, and have leftovers for the next day. Which, by the way, reheat SUPER WELL!

S J.

Yelp
California burrito was the size of the plate. The food was prepared fast after being ordered and restaurant was fairly full. They have a hotter salsa that will cause a fire in the hole. They also have Mexican ice cream. Theirs is not the deep fried style but the style rolled in corn flakes. Meal was probably upper-average price, but they do charge extra for credit card transactions.
google avatar

Yelp
So very good today Ordered street taco yummy steak With guacamole And of course a margarita so foid

Tim G.

Yelp
order was missing beans and rice called abo 25 times wi no answer to complain . Very disappointed in the service.

Yelp
Good service, ok food. Went with a party of 7 and had amazing service, unfortunately I forgot to get our server's name. She kept checking on us and filled our beverages & chips frequently. As for the food, half us like it, half didn't. My husband got a beef chimi and the beef was super greasy. I got seafood enchiladas & there was hardly any meat. My mom's burrito basically fell apart on her. My grandma was less than impressed with her chili rellano. My sister did love her tacos, her bf really enjoyed the heat level of his burrito & my dad thought the alambre was well worth the $.
google avatar

Don M.

Yelp
Saw a lot of good reviews so we thought we'd give Teresa's a shot & are extremely happy that we did From the prompt courteous service to some of the best salsa we've had in a looong time all washed down with icy cold draft beer The cheese dip & guac were top notch as well The portions were full and the waitstaff were attentive without being overbearing I had the chori-fajitas & they were perfect Definitely coming back next time we're in town

Yelp
We used to be be regulars at the Theresa's in Golden Valley. We used to eat here at least once a week. But now it's off our list. After a couple meals that were not up to par right before the New Year, we took a break from the restaurant. Tonight, we decided to go back with the hope that things go better, but they haven't. My partner ordered Jarocho, which he liked, but he didn't get the corn tortillas he had asked for twice. I ordered the Alhambra al pastor with flour tortillas. The tortillas were the straight out of the package and not warmed on the griddle before serving with the meat. Finally, it was happy hour, and we both ordered mango margaritas. There was absolutely not alcohol in them. None! I brought this to the server's attention. Instead of checking the drink, the server informed us that the bartender assured there was booze in it, but if we wanted more, we could pay another $5 for a floater. I didn't drink mine and asked it to be removed from the bill, but the server did not take it off. It's so sad to see a neighborhood restaurant that used to be good fail so miserably on multiple occasions. We just won't be back. Looking for decent Mexican food and a good margarita? Don't go to Theresa's in Golden Valley!

Yelp
If I could order Teresa's every night and not gain weight I 100% would. There are so many yummy things on their menu! Thank the DoorDash heavens that Teresa's is on there and still open during this hard time! I ordered the burrito chipotle which came with rice and beans. My partner ordered the enchiladas verdes which also and with rice and beans. My burrito was absolutely amazing! The steak had a nice chipotle spice to it and the queso on top was really good. The size of the burrito was perfect as well. I was able to finish (even though I was stuffed, ha!) my boyfriends' enchiladas were also surprisingly delicious. I don't typically like enchiladas verde but this sauce...y'all! Wow! It was so much better than any verde salsa I've ever had. Another plus, the delivery was super quick and they didn't forget the free chips and salsa! Can't wait to dine in once everything Re-opens! Stay safe! Thank you!

Yelp
We had a GREAT experience at Teresa's Mexican Restaurant yesterday. The location is following all of the guidelines necessary to take COVID-19 stressors off the mind of someone looking for a great Mexican dinner. The service was impeccable. Two separate servers waited on our table and were incredibly attentive. One specifically, who goes by "Chewy (sp?)", was fantastic! You could tell he really cared about the patrons he was serving and wanted to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. It was refreshing to interact with someone that brings such energy and enthusiasm to their job. Finally, the food was great. Our supply of chips and salsa was quickly replenished every time it ran low. The salsa tasted fresh and the chips were warm. My significant other ordered the chicken fajitas (her typical Mexican restaurant dish) and claims that this was the BEST she'd ever had. I ordered the Enchiladas (a la carte) and asked the server to make it extra spicy. My request was definitely delivered upon. Overall 5/5. Keep up the great work!

Chuck B.

Yelp
Good food, great service and great for a quick lunch. There fajitas for 2 is so much food.

Derek C.

Yelp
Oh my my huh who can go to a restaurant and have great service and good food, well this is the place the three combo plate was great, they a lunch menu that worked great with my price range. Yes I'll be back Thank you MARY for your service
google avatar

Yelp
Teresa's has good Mexican food... for Minnesota. Every time I come I'm satisfied; never amazed, never disappointed- I get what I expect. The queso is very good here. They have great happy hour prices. Outside of that, the food isn't super notable. This time I had a classic margarita, a little sweet/artificial for my liking. And I tried the chimichanga sampler, it was somewhat bland. Overall, it's never somewhere I go out of my way for, but usually a good experience.
google avatar

Tawanda R.

Yelp
My gf raved about the place, but I honestly did not enjoy the food. It didn't have much flavor. She was so dead set on going where i wanted for Mexican food, since i was craaaving Mexican and nothing hit the spot while there other then the chips and dip. Ambiance; Very nice looking restaurant. Ample amount of tables, big bar to the right when walking in, big tv's and a hostess stand to your left for seating. There is ample parking space, as it's located in the strip mall near Lunds/Barley's. Service: hostess was friendly, server was fast, the cooks were faster! We blinked and our food was ready! Food: chips and dip were my fav.. I added some hot sauce to the salsa and it was delish! I ordered Spicy Shrimp, which came with refried beans and Mexican rice and lots of bell peppers. None of it was anything to write home about. I'm used to flavored or flavorful rice from the Mexican Restaurants I visit. The overall meal was bland. i will not be back.
google avatar

Julie R.

Yelp
I stopped here after golfing with a group of friends. We enjoyed delicious margs and cold beers for only $5. The chips and salsa are arguably the best in town. Great happy hour prices! Plenty of food selection and everything we ate was delicious. No complaints here. We will be back!

Elder S.

Yelp
I haven't been to all of them, but this is the best Mexican restaurant in the area that I have tried. Food is always tasty and good service too. Way better than Lorito's and Hopkins.
google avatar

Jordana M.

Yelp
Updating my review because I now don't think I got sick sick from the food last time... Teresa's has always had great food and the servers are always so nice.
google avatar

Fernando M.

Yelp
No sauce on my enchilada... just got the lada no enchi...and manager rude ey.. had a long day he said ..

Paula F.

Yelp
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would. We ordered catering for a party of about 50 people. The staff could not have been more helpful, the food was absolutely delicious, and it made our event super easy. It also was pretty inexpensive for how much good we received ($10 per person) AND it was far more food than 50 people could ever eat. We love the food so are happy with leftovers but my only suggestion might be to talk through your event with the catering people if you don't want a ton of food left over...extremely generous portions. We would absolutely use this again and recommend highly!

Steven G.

Yelp
typical suburban strip mall mexican food place. not memorable or noteworthy, but the bar seems at least as much of a draw as the restaurant.
google avatar

Tatiana R.

Yelp
Very nice staff and we were seated right away even with a group of 16! The food was decent. If you're looking for a nice place to eat semi authentic Mexican food this is a place to go!

Yelp
Nice local spot with good margaritas and great service. Good for a happy hour or late bite.
