I don't mind flying out of Terminal E; it's pretty condensed and well signed making it easy to navigate (it's kind of shaped like a long hallway), and once you're through TSA it'll take you just minutes to get to your Gate (E1 to E12). It can get VERY, VERY busy here, so once you find some seats nearish your gate - stay put! and charge your devices!
The dining options after security are underwhelming. They're SO overpriced, the lines are SO long, the service is SO slow. And, to all my vegetarians/vegan friends: there's not much for us. As of writing this, the post-security food options include...
- Wahlburgers (open 5a to 5p everyday): serves burgers and fried food.
- Dine Boston Bar & Grille (open 1p to 9p everyday): serves casual New-England/American inspired food.
- Vino Volo (open 11a to 11p everyday): serves cheese, olives, nuts and wine.
- Monica's Mercato (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday, 11a to 10:30p; Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, 1p to 10:30p): serves a few different subs, a few different pizzas, and a few different pastas.
- Legal Sea Foods (open 2p to 10p everyday): serves seafood.
Personally, when I'm in Terminal E I just bop over to the Hudson News and pick-up something like an Odwalla or Naked juice-smoothie and a banana. The lines are still long, but move quicker at all the other places; the prices are high, but still lower than all the other places; the staff is still apathetic, but since there's dramatically less interaction it doesn't matter. Besides, for me anyway, I'm usually flying out around 9p/10p so I'm getting fed something vegan - and usually enjoying a complimentary drink of some kind - on board anyway; it makes no sense to do the sit down thing here.
Stretch your legs with a few laps up and down this terminal before your flight, fill up your water bottles, make use of the Pet Relief Area if you're traveling with a four legged friend, and be kind to yourself and your seatmates (both in the airport and in the airplane)!
