"A zero waste restaurant with an impressive open kitchen sunk below ground level. Set menus offer creative, modern dishes inspired by the chef’s global travels. These come with original combinations, purity of flavour and a lightness of touch. Wines have a natural, organic and biodynamic focus." - Michelin Inspector

Lucky us that Google suggested this hidden gem and that Noma was booked solid for the entire year. If you want to experience a first rate banquet, with emphasis on local ingredients under the hands of a master of sophisticated northern cuisine you must book a table at Terra. The rewards will far exceed the trepidation of going to a place that is not within the natives radar. The locals' loss but our win. Since this review is taking place a few weeks after we dined here, will be unable to name the ingredients of each dish. Sufficed to say that it was a Seasonal menu, which means by the time you read this review, those ingredients will no longer be available. But whatever is available rest assured that il signor Valerio Serino, as the true chef and conductor of this enterprise will enact a masterful performance, coaxing all the ingredients at his disposal like a consummate conductor does with an orchestra, extracting unimaginable flavors from his vast repertoire and training. He is aided in delivering astonishing dishes to your table by Lucia, the most gracious hostess one can wish for. We felt we were treated like royalty, and each dish transported us to new heights. Bravo Valerio and Lucia for giving us your all on a memorable evening. Tanti auguri di buon anno.

An incredible dining experience in the heart of Copenhagen. The restaurant is cozy with a warm, inviting atmosphere. With only a few tables, the staff can focus on delivering a highly personalized experience, and some dishes are even presented by the chef. Being able to interact with the chef adds a deeper understanding of the process and creates a closer connection to the meal. The menu is entirely fish and vegetable-based, featuring a minimal yet distinctly Nordic style that doesn't compromise on flavor. The celeriac taco is simply divine, and other standout dishes include the perfectly cooked wild seabass, the surprising mackerel with fig leaf oil, and the courgettes with ajo blanco and mint. A special mention goes to the dessert—custard with plum juice and puffed rice, which looks simple but offers an unexpectedly delightful combination of flavors and textures. The wine pairing is also expertly curated, and I appreciated how they sought our feedback on possible variations. An unforgettable experience!

Thanks for a very lovely and rather unique experience last night. The combination of the warm hospitality and the flawless, beautiful and exciting dishes really swept us away! 🥳 Terra is very much a unique and shining star on the CPH Gastro heaven. Oh, and the wines were outstanding - exceptional and ingenuous pairings all the way!

Lucia and Valerio are two of the sweetest and caring people in the business. It's rare to arrive to a restaurant and feel like you're at home and part of the family. The food is exquisite, the prawn and halibut dishes are some of the best in copenhagen and are both new, exciting and also comforting. Lucia is also a master story teller and sommelier, she takes you on a journey connecting every dish together as part of an overall grand plan ensuring you're never lost or thinking about where you are in the whole experience. Her choice for wines is thoughtful and perfect representing the food and region with pride. Frankly the green star misrepresents this place as this is a serious restaurant who gives a shit about delivering exceptional food and experience whilst also having a sustainable and positive impact on our environment. If I lived in Copenhagen I'd be her once a month and Il Mattarello once a week and maybe even convince Valerio to cook his famous porchetta for me. Loved it! PS I messed up the Prawn photo through eagerness

An unprecedented experience with delicious dishes and unique flavors never before tasted, thanks to chef Valerio Serino, who is always present and attentive to the smallest details. In the dining room, Lucia De Luca ensures that nothing is taken for granted, with wines perfectly paired to each course. Inside, you'll find a warm and especially welcoming atmosphere. Absolutely worth trying!

Wow - what a meal. Terra’s small (but mighty) team curated a full experience from the moment we stepped in the door. The chef included so many unique flavors and textures. We had a great time and left smiling ear to ear.

If you want to experience a two Michelin star restaurant without the formal need of 'stars' go to Terra. Our dining experience has been a trip across simple but yet complex flavors, using ingredients mostly from local farms and local fishermen. The Oyster with cauliflower and Liquorice, or the celeriac have been true perfection. If you want an even more complete experience, try the "juice pairing" instead of the "wine pairing" with the menu. Only this will justify the trip.

Térra is the result of passion/ labour of love from the dynamic duo Lucy and Valerio Serino. They showcase their Italian root by showcasing the freshest ingredients around the nordic region (with a hint of seasonal flavour from Italy of course). The menu consists of 15 unique creations from chef Valerio’s wildly imaginative mind. They welcome us with a warm broth celeriac and hazelnut oil, like a warm embrace from when you visit grandma’s house it makes me feel right at home. Then the experience starts, while decor is dimly lid by the interior lighting, a clear sign of acknowledgment of nordic influences. So it was when it comes to the presentation of the courses themselves. While looking like a plate of well structured and calculative nordic design, each of them roars with combination of flavours that challenges our pallets to dig deeper! While this is my second time dining at the restaurant and some courses looked familiar, the familiarity ends there. Valerio has tweak what were hidden underneath, which transformed them into something totally different than what I encountered previously! As they say “looks can be deceiving” and chef just presented me with his greatest remix. Not only that, Lucy with her immense knowledge of wine brought us her selection for the evening. We chosen to have one wine and one juice/tea pairing for our evening. The lushness of fresh almonds and fruits influenced tea, and the crisp/ mineral note of various sparkling/white/orange wine transported us from a nordic theme dining room directly into the warm evening in the Italian countryside. With the occasional cool breeze on your face and the grass under your feet. Last but not least, Lucy concludes our night by presenting us a nicely curated pot of hot tea infused with various herbs from her garden! What a way to finish!

Yelp
Great local Italian gourmet restaurant. When you enter terra you are no longer I Copenhagen - you feel like on Manhattan or in Rome. The interior is manhattan or San Francisco style and the food is good Roman / Sicily style food. Your hosts do everything to make you feel at home and serve exquisite food with a local Italian touch. I would certainly come back.
