"Generous portions and homemade pastas make this Italian-style restaurant popular with locals. Chef Angel Mendoza also adds Latin-themed dishes like a beef soup with yucca and fajita platters." - Tim Ebner

Ordered from here for the first time for a take out order. I wanted to try it since I read some promising reviews about it from others. I got the penne alla vodka & Arancini croquettes- I asked for no tomatoes or onions be in the pasta just for it to come filled with tomatoes and onions. This is nowhere near alla vodka tasting whatso ever, and more so tastes as if a whole frying pan full of bacon grease and bacon bits was poured into the sauce and then mushed together with tomatoes & cream. One of the worst pasta dishes i’ve had in a very long time. I will not be ordering from here ever again; the arancini were OK hence the 2 stars but very dry and the cheese on the inside was a ball not even melted. No thank you.

Came for lunch, the portion of the dishes here is quite decent. The panini is very good

I came here because I wanted a place that made their own pasta and I was not disappointed. Their website boasts "You Can't Beat Our Pasta." It's a bold claim, but they back it up. When looking at the menu, keep in mind that this is one of those rare places where the food looks better in real life than in the pictures on the menu. Very good pasta, very good pizza. And the owner and the server were both so nice and welcoming.

Newly remodeled very nice, food is very good, nice Latino music also has karaoke in the evenings. If you don't like very loud music then it's not a good idea to come after 8pm or so.. otherwise it's so much fun!!! Also they have very late brunch!!!

I am so happy to find this place! Ive taken my mother out to two, 2 star and less, restaurants in a row. Terra Mare is a 5!!! The place is designed for accomodating large parties and has a stage where karaoke happens and bands can play. It seems a bit plain walking in, but you are in for a treat if you walk through the doors. We went in when they were slow, so didnt know how to gauge the atmosphere. There was only 1 other table there when we walked in and a couple of guys eating at the bar. The table seemed very happy and comfortable . It was a party of 6 or 7 people and i could kinda tell they were very comfortable and enjoying themselves. Based on looks i thought that the food experience could go either way, but something about that party of 6 gave me the feeling that we were embarking upon a great eating experience. I was correct and started immediately. Fresh homemade bread! Flakey and crispy on outside served with butter. We ordered brussel spouts and wings to start. Brussel sprouts were done very well. Some char and sliced thin. Wings were tossed in garlic and lime and baked. Both were great starters. We ordered fajitas and chicken alfredo to split amongst 3 of us. We destroyed as much as we could. Still had some leftovers. Pasta was amazing. Fajitas were very good. Tortillas are made in house and you can tell! We wrapped it up with a slice of tiramisu. We had a great experience and we will be back to try pizza and other menu items. Thank you Terra Mare for a great experience! I can tell you care about your customers' experiences.

Google
Walked in for our takeout orders. It locates on the ground floor half level down from the parking lots. It has a full bar, a few high stools, and more than thirty tables. It was the Angel’s Pizza and Pasta in the Westfield Wheaton until a year ago. You can still see that big dome oven in red tiles with its new current name on it! You can also see the fridge of four shelves of desserts on its side - tiramisu, rum cakes, cheesecakes, and chocolate mousse cakes - from bottom to top. Received warm greetings from two staffs for our orders. For Mexican food, we ordered Ceviche Mixto and Chicken Fajitas. From Italian food, we ordered Garden Pizza, Pesto Calzone and Chicken Alfredo. Because we also ordered the Honduran special Pollo con Tajadas, they took about 30-35 minutes. The dishes were well prepared and packed. They were all delicious when we enjoyed them at home. Highly recommended.

As we entered the building we were stared at like we were aliens 👽 👽 lol. I guess they not used to black folks being patrons. Besides that, the food was hit n miss. The wings were eh...a lil undercooked very fatty. The carbonara was very wet not enough ingredients inside and the pizza was great! Drinks were good. A lil pricy but good 👍🏽 whoever the guy was (owner/ manager) was passing out extra cake from the party in the dining area. I asked for a slice but he gave it to the white couple behind us that just came in the bldg.🙄😒 he never greeted us btw. Everyone else he did. 🤷🏾‍♂️ The bartender was the only friendly person. My bill was $177 I could've went to maggianos or cheesecake factory and been extremely satisfied for that amount of money. Lesson learned👌🏾

Wow I love this place super clean and the seafood soup is the best

Yelp
Great local spot! My boyfriend and I made a stop here during our day of errands, and it definitely fulfilled everything I was looking for for a quick bite to eat. Locally owned, no need to make reservations, and very friendly staff! I ordered a personal/kid's personal pizza and my boyfriend got a pasta dish. The pizza was SO good, fresh, oven baked, delicious. My only hangup was that I think the chef was a bit too heavy handed with the cheese, it felt like goops of cheese on top lols But would I return? Absolutely, because I am on a mission to find amazing local spots in the silver spring area (but probably would request light cheese if I was to get pizza as a entree option)

Yelp
I was in the area visiting family and had a taste for pasta (that could be anytime everyday lol). I pulled a couple places up on my trusty Yelp app and liked what I saw. There is a parking lot out front which is super convenient since I dislike street parking very much. There are about five steps down to the actual entrance of the restaurant but they also have a wheelchair elevator. The restaurant is pretty large with tons of seating. The seating at the bar wraps all the way around. They have a nice selection of bottles behind the bar, something for everyone's taste. The brick oven is behind the bar as well, right next to the kitchen. The goodness that was produced out of that oven was out of this world. I came for pasta but Angel talked the pizza up so well I had to try it and it did not disappoint!! The service was excellent and friendly. We went on a Tuesday after the memorial holiday so it was kind of slow but I feel like the attentive service is something that Angel would provide regardless of a crowd. The food was simply fresh and delicious. The menu is a mix of Italian, Honduran, El Salvadoran and Mexican.......all around melanin goodness. I opted for the spaghetti bolognese which was made with fresh in house pasta (nothing is frozen or premade at this place). My mother went with the Hen Soup which is a large bowl of broth with vegetables and comes with a half roasted or fried chicken. Everything was delicious! I let Angel know that every time I visit the area I'm stopping in. Come support this local gem. Bring the family, there is plenty for everyone:)

Yelp
This is our go to place for amazingly good homemade pasta! Portions are good, prices average. Very friendly welcoming staff, very cjean place. Homemade pizza crust too- try the Lorocco pizza- first one on the pizza list- it uses a special dough. Downside? It's popular on the weekends, and can get loud. Highly recommend!

Yelp
4.5 Stars and we ordered delivery for this order. Placing the order over the phone was simple and the employee answered several questions I had about the menu as well. The driver was prompt and courteous (I believe he worked at the restaurant rather than for a third-party delivery service). The portions were generous and the food was flavorful. When I saw they carried Arancini balls on the menu, I was so excited because I had wanted to try these ever since I saw them on a travel channel show! The outside was crisp and crunchy while the inside was softened by the rice inside.

Maria N.

Yelp
Pizza was tasty and made to order. The restaurant atmosphere is more geared toward night club crowd. we went for dinner around 6:30pm and they were setting up for music which started at 9pm. Place was pretty empty - but I assume it fills up later in the evening.

Yelp
Who knew that Wheaton, MD would be a hot spot for outstanding dining with Terra Mare just around the corner from one of my favorite places District Bistro and Frank's Burger Place? Based on the 5 times I've been to Terra Mare in the past 2 months, I have come to the conclusion that this place serves some of the best Italian food at very reasonable prices with excellent, welcoming, friendly service in the suburban MD. The pasta and especially the pizza are worthy of going off a low carb diet. They are both just so good here. Listen, I freely admit I'm a pizza snob. There are a few places that make pizza that I just adore. Pizzeria Paradiso in DuPont Circle and Hyattsville was the place for me for years, and still is. There are places that have adequate pizza, but Terra Mare's pizza comes oh so close to some of the best - great dough and crust, excellent cheese, toppings and perfectly charred. I will gladly have Terra Mare's delicious pizza since it's closer to me and it comes at a lot more affordable price tag. In addition to the great pizza, the other Italian dishes are excellent as well, especially the chicken piccata with its' perfectly cooked al dente homemade linguine - delicious! Being that the owners and staff are of Latin descent, there are some Latin dishes sprinkled throughout the menu. On one occasion, My friend had the chicken fajitas, which looked really good, and said they were excellent as well. Perhaps one day I will be tempted to try them for myself if I can be torn away from their excellent pizza because I just love good fajitas too. The only drawback here is the loud music on weekends when they have karaoke, and the rather cold color temperature lighting. The place is clean and spacious, but some warmer more ambient lighting would make the dining room feel more calm, inviting and intimate. Even so, it should not deter anyone from trying the place. It didn't deter me and now I enthusiastically will say this is one of my top picks to eat out in the DMV. I just love this place!

Min Z.

Yelp
It was located around the Wheaton triangle area. It was a big and spacious. The service was very attentive. The atmosphere and the food were more Latino than Italian. Deejay played a mixture of loud and fast Latino dance music. Otherwise it was quiet because there were not many diners on a late Sunday night. We ordered: 5*Terra Marescada: included lobster, shrimp, fish, crab, mussels, clams and tortillas.bathe menu claimed to have scallops, but I didn't see any. It was served with tortillas. Everything was fresh and tasty, perfect seafood soup. 3*Garden Pizza: it was ok, the veggies make it a bit soggy.

Yelp
I love this place, Angel the owner is the best, he makes the best pizza's and cocktails. All of the dishes are great but we always have to have the pizza first. Tip Top service everyone of the wait staff are great. Everytime we are there they are sitting up for birthday parties we love being guest from the sidelines. We try to stop by every two weeks. It's a fun environment every time we are there

Zarin B.

Yelp
Food and service was great. Got the pasta Verde which had a nice smokiness to it, the salmon in tomato cream sauce which was delicious with homemade linguini, and the funghi pizza with caramelized onions which was pretty good for being sauceless and had a great Neapolitan pizza style to it. Ambiance was interesting, there was Latin music blaring and it was someone's birthday so they were doing karaoke on the other side of the restaurant. Our waitress was amazing, super prompt and friendly. Biggest negative was the women's bathroom had no soap and when I asked someone about it, she just thanked me and went to the kitchen and never returned to refill it. The manager/owner also asked what was wrong and he also disappeared into the kitchen never to be seen again. I waited for a good couple minutes for some soap but just decided to give up and take my chances with hand sanitizer from my purse. Pretty weird experience and it kind of ruined my meal. Who wants to eat with unwashed hands?

Michael M.

Yelp
I ordered the ceviche and shrimp risotto. Both were expertly prepared and delicious. I also ordered sangria which was hand made and very good. I came in at 6 on a Monday so it was sparsely populated so atmosphere was not great, but the food was excellent!

Aleksey M.

Yelp
Just about everything in this place can be improved. What a dump. Horrible food and service. I don't think they know what seasonings are. No attention to guests from the server. I mean really horrible. Lol. I have not seen it like this in a long time.

R A.

Yelp
I been there several times and average was good except last night the presentation of the place was not good enough we order several drinks for the table and a very expensive whisky and they serve all on plastic cups with straw including the whiskey I gentle ask to at least transfer the whiskey drink to a decent glass cup the manager said oh that's the way we serve after spend $80.00 for entrance and $210.00 for drinks I don't recommend this place very poor management and don't look enough clean at all use to be better.

Yelp
This was my first visit here and I opted for a carry-out. There are plenty of metered parking out front. When you enter the first set of doors, you have to descend a few steps to the door for Terra Mare. The restaurant is spacious. The staff was very pleasant and very helpful. The food was delicious. For starters, meatballs al forno was a must have. These were mini beef meatballs. Perfect bite size. I wanted something different so I ordered the pasta verde- homemade spinach noodles, jumbo shrimp, tomatoes, charred brussel sprouts, onion and basil pesto sauce. The portion was huge. I made 3 meals out of it. They also have couple homemade desserts- tiramisu and rum cake. Both were good but a little on the pricey side for the size of the dessert. I look forward to trying other items on the menu. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
Baronessa out - Terra Mare in. These are the former owners of Rockville's Baronessa which sadly closed this year. But be aware...this is not Baronessa. It's like a Latin American restaurant with some Italian dishes. I'm not sure how that's going to go in the long run but time will tell. Honestly, I'd prefer they make a decision one way or the other and stick to it but that's just me. Another bummer is that their brick oven is no longer heated by wood but by gas. This makes a big difference, but I think their hands may have been tied by the county and the ability to vent the wood smoke. Alas. So I am going to report a half-review here as I wanted to try the pasta as well but just couldn't stuff my face with that much food. So...an updated review will be coming along in the coming weeks. As you have probably figured out, I had the pizza. It was fine. While the dough wasn't very flavorful, the crust was cooked beautifully. In fact, the time and temp of the cook (a little under two minutes at 700 degrees) was perfect. The sauce didn't have much to it flavor-wise and the toppings were fine. Overall, an okay pizza. I hear that they make their pasta in house (except for the Penne) so I definitely want to try that (hence the updated review promise). Stay tuned. The location is a little odd as there's no signage on the door but once you get down there (yes you have to go down some steps to get in) you'll know you're in the right place (and yes, there's a wheelchair elevator available). The place is filled with TVs so you get the vibe that it might be a good place to watch some sports. Otherwise the decor lacks panache (especially compared to Baronessa!) with black ceiling tiles and recessed lighting. Oh, and there's plenty of parking available. Rumor has it that there will be Karaoke on weekend nights (another very odd add for a restaurant mixing two cuisines - maybe they'll offer sushi on those nights too?) The staff could-not-have-been-nicer. Everyone was happy and busy and excited to talk about all the yummy food on the menu. I'd come back just for that great experience. They have a full bar (with several good beers on tap) but I can't speak to their ability to actually mix a drink as this was a weekday lunch. All told, Terra Mare is an okay place to go. There's enough seating for groups and larger families and it is clean. I look forward to trying their pasta in the next week or so and giving an updated review.

James Y.

Yelp
Food was fantastic. Interesting oven baked wings with lime and garlic but the Neapolitan pizza was A+. I reserve my high ratings to only the best places, but the homemade sausage on the pie put this to an A+. Appreciate the owner Angel making me and my buddy's time there a great experience. Looking forward to our next visit.

Paul J.

Yelp
Another visit to Terra Mare with a large group and we got pizza and a salmon salad. What a treat! This place serves it up right with fresh vegetables in the salad, a large, well-cooked filet of salmon, and the pizzas are still unbelieveable. Fresh, soft, airy dough with just enough cheese and toppings to add taste and flavor but not a lot of grease. We had our fill and immediately thought of what we would get next time, because we know we're coming back!

Robert H.

Yelp
This food was amazing very reasonably priced kind of a hole in the wall, but lots of fun. We went on a Monday night. It was pretty quiet, but they have live music on weekends.

D B.

Yelp
My favorite takeout for pizzas! Often my go to when needing to order pizza for Friday movie nights. This is it.

Luis A.

Yelp
Foodie alert. The Loroco pizza is a must try. I was asked by the restaurant employees if it was my first time here.....of course it is I said. They insisted that I try the Loroco Pizza, and at first, I didn't go for it because I thought it was a bit weird. After thinking about it, I decided to give it a try. I got to tell you it was surprisingly delicious. It was the best of Italy meet the best of El Salvador. All I can say is, wow. You have to try this. I will be back to try more things out!

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Late night pizza stop. So fast! So delicious! Super sweet cook and servers. Altogether a great experience.

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Saw this place on Groupon and went with wife and in laws this past Sunday. My wife and I shared the meatballs and charred Brussels sprouts for appetizers and a vegetarian pizza and salmon pasta for our entrees. We also had the cheesecake for desserts and two cocktails. The food was pretty good and prices were not bad but since we got appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts the cost was nearly 200 before tip and 100 after the 100 dollar Groupon. The service was friendly but a bit slower than we would like especially with the place being empty. Overall it is a good Latin American owned Italian place with some Latin influence.

Ingrid N.

Yelp
Ordered late(10pm) ,using the app they recommended it arrived super quick, less than 30 min. Hot, yummy and generous portions

Silvia H.

Yelp
I've been a customer since they first opened, love the variety of all their dishes. Their pizza is always made to order in their pizza oven. Their chicken pesto sandwich is one of my favorites. All the employees are kind and welcoming, I have never had to wait longer than 15 min for my food.

Adam L.

Yelp
We made a to-go order including one Meatlovers Pizza and one Margherita Pizza. When we got home and opened the boxes, we got two Margarita Pizzas instead. Please remember to open and verify what you ordered and what you received before leaving the store!

Jadyn M.

Yelp
I've only ever gotten takeout here, but I love their thin crust pizza. The cheese pizza is simple but awesome. My fiancé gets the calzone, which he recommends. The calamari is good as well, but we haven't ventured into their other seafood yet!

Jared E.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area! Worth giving this place your local pizza business! They have the best cheese.

Cat L.

Yelp
Came here with a Groupon and was not disappointed. The menu is very extensive so it's got great options for large parties but makes it more difficult for the more indecisive! We ordered wings, the pasta verde, and steak fajitas. The wings and pasta verde were a little on the oily side but still delicious. The steak fajitas were solid. I wouldn't mind coming back to try the pizza and other things on the menu. Note that there is no free parking and the spots right outside are all metered.

Todd W.

Yelp
Nice place. Have yet to taste the food....the bartender and waitress are rude considering I advised that I'm a first timer and asked for suggestions. Five people at the bar and all communication in spanish. I'll just stick to the yelp suggestions and hold off on ratings. Well the Vodka Penne was not good too many red onions and zero flavor, lasagna (not home made) and jumbo shrimp risotto was okay. Definitely not #JonandVinnny's Los Angeles. Could have went Lexi's and saved $100. The pizza was bad too :(

Abegail A.

Yelp
Recently visited Terra Mare and enjoyed my experience. After learning the owner also owned Baronessa, I knew the food here would be fantastic. Service was on point from beginning to end. I'd definitely return, especially when I'm craving Neapolitan pizza or Italian food in general. We started with the meatballs al forno, which came with their house bread. The mini meatballs were delicious. They were baked in marinara sauce and covered with cheese. Everyone enjoyed this app, especially the little ones. I had the pasta a la vodka, which I really enjoyed. The tomato cream sauce was very flavorful and creamy. The dish had a decent amount of crispy bacon which I thought added a nice crunch to the dish. I also tried some of the meat lovers pizza, which came topped with pepperoni, sausage, ham, and bacon. If you love meat as much as I do, this one is for you! Toppings were fresh and the slightly charred crust was soft and a little chewy. Delicious! C&N both had the kid's pepperoni pizza, which were huge! The pizza was slightly smaller than the regular pizza, so depending on your little one's appetite, I suggest just ordering a pepperoni pizza as the kid's option didn't come with anything extra (such as a drink or side). To drink I had a jalapeno watermelon margarita. It was flavorful, refreshing, and had a slight kick to it. Definitely would order this one again. I'd skip the lemonade, though. We ordered two lemonades for the kids, which came in your typical kid's cup. When we got the receipt, they ended up costing $6 a piece. I definitely wasn't expecting that one. I asked the waitress if that was a typo and she stated it wasn't as their lemonade is made fresh. I'd hate to see how much a regular glass of lemonade costs. Yes, it was homemade, but I didn't think it was anything special (a little on the sweeter side). Parking is available in the lot out front with payment via the meter or the Park Mobile app.

Victoria S.

Yelp
Got takeout here and was very impressed. The menu is very extensive (has mostly Italian with several Latin American style items as well). I opted for their pasta verde and eggplant a La parmigiana. The former consisted of spinach noodles with large and juicy shrimp + charred brussel sprouts tossed in a garlicky pesto sauce. I've never had a dish with this combination and thought it went perfectly together. The eggplant a La parmigiana had a generous portion of stacked thin fried eggplant slices, ricotta, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Spaghetti tossed in the same tomato sauce complemented the eggplant. The result was very filling yet not heavy. The noodles from both dishes tasted like they were homemade and fresh. Highly recommend!

Jay D.

Yelp
Service was excellent, wine pour generous, huge portions -- the biggest eggplant Parmesan portion I've ever seen (YEAH leftovers!!!) - the beet salad started us off (also a large portion) and delicious balsamic dressing. My spouse had the Arugula pizza, friend had mushroom ravioli with Vodka sauce (a little too much sauce for my tastes). Every one left fat and happy. The server was attentive, friendly and helpful- but not overly so. Definitely going back! Oh, and music to take you back to the 70s and 80s. Go soon!

Iva N.

Yelp
Found out of the place from Yelp event. Apparently owner, Angel, was the same owner of Baronessa restaurant that was recently closed in Rockville. Very exciting to see another neopolitan pizza/Italian food with Latin flair! Had loroco pizza (YUM), Brussels sprouts (so crispy and tasty) and omg I'm glad I listened to the recommendation, the tiramisu is off the chain!! Would come back and dine in next time with friends and hoping to try other items on the menu.

Kimber V.

Yelp
This restaurant is actually a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. I sat at the bar and ordered. The ladies behind the bar are friendly and welcoming. I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, chicken parmigiana, and the house made tiramisu. I watch my pizza being made. That was fun. I was really surprised at how quickly it was ready! The pizza was yummy. And the owner gave me some garlic sauce to dip my pizza crust into. It was over the top delicious. My mother loved the chicken parm. And the tiramisu was one of the best I've ever tasted. I'll definitely be back.

Hitakshi S.

Yelp
What a great addition to Wheaton! Terra Mare has a great bar area, a lot of TVs to watch sports, and a huge seating space that can also be rented for events. It was our first time there so we tried the margherita pizza and pasta a la vodka. They were both good - I loved that the pizzas are made fresh in their brick oven! The staff is very friendly and will help explain their menu and select the best dishes. Can't wait to go back to try other items and grab some drinks and dessert next time!

Sharon W.

Yelp
This review is based on carry-out so when we actually eat at the restaurant I may update it. Rich picked up our order and said the restaurant is nice and clean with a bar area and lots of television sets. We ordered a cheese pizza, calamari, Brussel sprouts and minestrone soup. The pizza was very good and held up well as a carry-out. In the past we've found some brick oven pizzas are thin and fall apart if not eaten right away at the restaurant. The calamari was good. Pretty chewy but very crispy, probably best eaten fresh from the fryer. Personal preference, I wasn't crazy about the dipping sauce, would really prefer a marinara. I don't eat Brussel sprouts but did taste these. They had a very heavy balsamic vinegar sauce and Rich enjoyed them. I was mainly interested in the minestrone soup. It was a huge disappointment. A very lack-luster broth and a few somewhat soggy vegetables. I dumped some Parmesan cheese in it, but even that didn't help. Sadly it ended up in the trash. I honestly had much better minestrone soup recently at a chain Italian restaurant. Rich said the ambiance was pleasant and the staff very nice, so we may try eating in the restaurant at some point and when we do hopefully I can add a fourth star.

Jessica L.

Yelp
We love to try out and visit frequently new places that open within walking distance... like this one!! Get the calamari - worth it. The Caesar salad is yum and large! We got three pizzas which were yum too. The pizza oven and chewy crust makes the pizza. Wish the tables were bigger to manage the food quantity... but It's so good!! So we will get over that minor annoyance. What a welcome addition to our neighborhood.

Istvan T.

Yelp
First visit: Very Quiet Monday Night. Beautiful, spacious and clean interior. Started with the ceviche. It was a generous portion and extremely delicious. Wanted to eat everything but went with another app recommendation: Calamari Fritti. Another excellent choice. Slightly smaller portion than I hoped but the calamari was crispy lightly seasoned and breaded fried delightfully with a wonderful garlic aioli type of sauce. For the big finish I ordered a Tiramisu. The service was so friendly and amazing. The bartender was great with recommendations and being inviting without being intrusive. If you work or live nearby and you don't visit Terra Mare you are making a big mistake. Try it once and you'll see I am right. Then you can thank me for the great tip!

Kyle L.

Yelp
Terra Mare is kind of in a hidden spot in Silver Spring. I've had their charred Brussels sprouts, meatballs Al forno, and pagans la vodka. Their meatballs were a little beefy for me, and the small size of them was a little odd. I don't know why, but something about mini meatballs makes me a little uncomfortable . Their Brussels spouts and pasta dish was delicious though!

Marcus O.

Yelp
Loved the oven baked pizza. Found this establishment after a concert. The Brussels sprouts, it could have been cooked longer

Carolyn W.

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy this place. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I ordered the pollo alla fiorentina and charred brussels for takeout. Honestly, it tasted like a microwaveable frozen alfredo dinner. The chicken was pale and bland and cold in some parts, as was the pasta. The sauce that came with the brussels just tasted like an overly sweet ranch. Will not be ordering from here again.

Roman N.

Yelp
Delicious Pizza served hot & fast. Good price. Underrated. Wife and I have made this one of our regular To-Go spots. Parking is easy too. Checks every box.

L F.

Yelp
Really good pizza. REALLY thoughtful management! Jaime was so responsive to my phone call after a takeout order that I am very happy to drive back across town to support this small business. Don't miss out on the margherita pizza with added prosciutto! One pizza is enough to share...but you'll be very bitter about not having leftovers later.

Stephanie S W.

Yelp
The pizza is so good. We were honestly shocked we hadn't been here before. They have a brick oven behind the bar and the Margherita pizza and fungi pizza were both well made. Delicious crust and toppings. There is a side room where there was a birthday party and a DJ, which my son loved to dance to the fun music to.

Yelp
Terra Mare opened on June 18, 2022, at the former location of Intipuqueño Restaurant. Angel Mendoza is the chef and co-owner. His previous restaurants include Baronessa Italian in Rockville and Angel's Pizza and Pasta in Wheaton Mall. The menu had mostly Italian food with some Mexican/Central American dishes. My first visit was for a Yelp Elite event. The experience was good so I came back twice with my wife for dinner and carryout. We bought chicken wings, Salmone de la Casa, Pasta Mare e Monti, a Garden pizza, and a Terra Mare Platter. The chicken wings had a good grilled flavor with a peppery lime sauce coating. It was complemented with a ranch dressing dip. This had a great combination of flavors. It was spicy, tangy, savory, and smoky.    The Salmone de la Casa had a salmon filet, jumbo shrimp, broccoli, and homemade linguini in a tomato cream sauce. The linguini and broccoli were cooked well. The salmon and shrimp were tender and moist. The sauce was creamy and had a nicely balanced flavor combination of tomatoes, herbs, and seasonings. This was a flavorful dish.    The Pasta Mare e Monti had homemade smoked paprika tagliatelle, jumbo shrimp, sausage, tomatoes, onions, garlic, green peppers, and vodka cream sauce. Everything was cooked well. The sauce had a similar flavor to the tomato cream sauce in the Salmone de la Casa. However, this dish was more flavorful and savory because of the sausage, onions, garlic, green peppers, and smoked paprika in the noodles. This dish was outstanding.    The Garden pizza had fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It had a thin crust that was soft and slightly chewy. The vegetables were fresh. Overall, it was a well-made pizza that was surprisingly flavorful for a vegetable pizza.    The Terra Mare Platter had steak, chicken, shrimp, and ribs. It comes with rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The steak and shrimp were grilled well and had a good flavor from a light marinade. They were moist and tender. The chicken was grilled breast meat. It was overcooked, dry, and bland. The ribs were tender and had a good smoky barbecue flavor. The rice, beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo were typical. If they improve the chicken, this would be a very good dish.    The service was polite, attentive, and responsive. The restaurant is old and dated. The decor is nothing like Baronessa Italian Restaurant. It is a functional minimalist design that is cost-effective. The dining room was clean. The restrooms were clean, but they could use some renovation. The food was impressive though and that is the most important aspect of any restaurant. We plan on returning to try more of their interesting dishes.

Yelp
Pizza crust was undercooked and cold. had to cook it in my oven when I got home which is less than a mile away. Also ordered meatball appetizers. Frozen meatballs in a salty sauce. Said comes with bread. No bread. When I called to ask they said they must've run out. Unacceptable! They said 15 minutes food will be ready was there and it took another 15 to 20 minutes? I'm assuming to cook the meatballs ??

Yelp
Went TWICE IN TWO DAYS! First day I went with my family and we had a group of 8 and a baby, the restaurant was basically empty except for two other people (but they are a new restaurant so it's to be expected). They treated us amazing!! I never got our waitress name but she had short curly hair, one of the best waitresses I've ever had-coming from a server/bartender- she didn't even have to write any of our orders down! They gave us a free pizza-which was amazinggggg- but my favorite thing hands down was the calamari (it was so good I got it the next night I went in with my fiancé and forgot to take a picture ). It's a hit or miss with some of the items but the things that are good- ARE AMAZING!

Yelp
On a gloomy Wednesday evening, my boyfriend and I had a candlelit dinner at Terra Mare restaurant in Wheaton. I liked how the restaurant had its own parking lot. However, I didn't like how it was metered with a two-hour limit. It's nice that you can pay with coins or via the Park Mobile app. Because it wasn't busy, we had a choice between sitting in the bar area or the dining room. Our server Karla was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. For drinks, they have specialty and classic cocktails, bar spirits, beer, wine, and soda. It was nice that they were able to make a Virgin Passionfruit Margarita. It was sweet, fruity, and refreshing. My boyfriend wanted a sandwich but learned it was only available during lunch. He ended up getting the Steak Fajitas and enjoyed it with a spicy Habanero salsa. I enjoyed the Pasta A La Vodka, which consisted of penne pasta cooked with garlic, onions, bacon in a rich and creamy tomato sauce. We finished our meal on a sweet note - a Rum Cake. The Rum Cake consisted of a homemade sponge cake, soaked in coconut rum infused syrup in between layers of whipped cream and almonds and finished with a strawberry syrup drizzle. I liked how the cake was moist, light, and fluffy.

Yelp
I found this place when looking for a pizza place for some people who like Hawaiian Pizza. I had a talk with the owner, who was super nice and told me his pizzas beat anyone's in town! So I took a chance and paid in advance for a gift card. I felt kind of guilty, though, because I had nothing but the wonderful aromas to go by. (My go-to pizza is Margherita). Still, I was on a deadline to deliver the gift card, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. So tonight, a Monday night, my usual favorite spot is closed. And my family was set on having pizzas tonight. We all got the same thing--our family fave, the Margherita. I thought the pizza was terrific! I LOVE, LOVE LOVED the cheese and the little round pieces of tomato. Upon seeing the pizza, I thought it was a little light on the basil, but my taste buds said no, it was perfect! I asked for extra char, and they accommodated me perfectly. I have to add that my husband thought his was VERY GOOD, but my daughter did not like hers. (Course she ate it all so . . . ) Anyway, take my word for it, the pizza I ate was EXCELLENT. My only caveat is that the woman who took my order over the phone evidently never turned in the order. I could tell English was not her first language, so I would suggest that the person taking phone orders be more capable. I repeated my order three times, to make sure she got it. And I spelled my last name twice. Oh well, my daughter ordered when she got there and she did bring the bounty home still nice and hot.

Yelp
We used to looooove going to Baronessa so we were thrilled to find this place. The combination of cuisines is fantastic!! I was in the mood for fajitas and my hubs wanted pizza- so this worked out amazingly well. Both dishes were excellent and the Italian part of the menu is reminiscent of the Baronessa we frequented. We thought the prices were reasonable especially considering the quality of the ingredients.
