"As you follow the road from Sarentino up to an altitude of 1 622m, you slowly become aware of the extraordinary experience offered by Terra - The Magic Place. Immersed in a natural wooded setting of beech and fir, this restaurant boasts delightful views at every turn, with breathtaking vistas of the Dolomites once you reach the sunny Alpine pasture in which the restaurant is situated. This is where the Schneider family began their adventure back in 1940 when Grandfather Johann built his first mountain hut here – the early origins of this magical place. The cuisine is served on a single tasting menu featuring small, beautifully presented dishes, all served at a good pace. The local beef is excellent and served two ways: braised beef with a glaze of chickpeas, chickweed and liquid gnocchi, and potatoes, and charcoal-grilled tenderloin with a glaze of spices, pimpernel oil and black salsify. When it comes to wine, the chef’s talented and enthusiastic sister Gisela will be happy to help you choose from the extensive wine list, which also includes alcohol-free options.
