This is a fantastic place to get ideas for your home and garden. Members of neighbouring Longwood Gardens receive a 10% discount on purchases.

Cute store but here’s my issue… Kids gifted us with a Terrain Gift Card. We made reservations at the Terrain Cafe, enjoyed our meal and presented gift card as payment only to be told it does not apply to the Cafe. Server offered to switch to which we agreed. Since a balance remained on the card we were given a Terrain Cafe Card - only to discover we could not use it to purchase anything from the Terrain store - we tried but the manager refused to override their ‘policy’. How confusing and disappointing! Especially because we are not from area. Had we fully understood, we would have kept the gift card to use in the store and paid out of pocket for cafe meal.

I often visit this store when I visit nearby Longwood Gardens. Love getting ideas here and the plants are great quality. They are a bit pricey and very often I'll try and google similar products in store or see if I can DIY. That being said, they put out some really unique things and I love just perusing if I'm waiting for my reservation at the cafe (which I'd also recommend).

Brittany is an amazing waitress!! We adore her and all her hard work! Hostess today was amazing!! Food was great! Perfect day for brunch outdoors!

Google
There was a bunch of lovely plants here but some did not look so great considering how pricey some of them are, some I did see have mealy bugs so just a heads up when bringing them home with you to inspect and clean thoroughly!

Over the last several years, I have had several unique terrariums for myself as well as for gifting. The design team at Terrain is one of the best in my experience. I just ordered a large, dried floral wall art today. Lydia (designer) was able to customize it for me. She was courteous, considerate, engaged and really leaned into what the customer was asking. More importantly, she offered to do it right away although these is often done as a product deliver day(s) later. She had no idea I lived far away. Great service and unique products!

Their food was like garbage, they don't get touch with the customer, it's the worst place I've ever been to in my life

Yelp
Word of advice: MAKE A RESERVATION AHEAD TIME! We were in the area, and after doing a yelp review of lunch spots in the area, I really wanted to try terrain. Their page says to use OpenTable for a reservation, but sadly they didn't have any available. I signed up for the "notify me" feature and shortly after that got a notification that there was a dining tent available but it was 18+ and $35 for the tent.. anyways, long story short, we went there to buy a gift card and actually got there right as a spot opened up at the bar, but I didn't see any tents, so I would recommend calling instead of signing up for that on open table. Anyways.. the cafe is connected to a beautiful gift shop full of gardening things, and home decor like candles, flowers, and cook books. The cafe is decorated very nicely with earthy colors. The food was very good. The mushroom soup was very good and tasted like real mushrooms as opposed to tasting like cream and artificial things like a lot of places. Since they give you a delicious complimentary pop over with some yummy butter, I figured the soup would be enough, and it was! We also tried the terrain breakfast plate and a couple of the kids meals and everything was fresh and tasty. I also liked the cranberry fizz NA drink!

Yelp
One of the prettiest garden restaurants I have been to. Beautiful inside and out. They have a Terrain store next door where you can find the most unique and wonderful gifts. It is a farm to table concept but I wasn't particularly wowed by the food or drinks. The flowerpot bread is a unique idea, which I would love to replicate at home. I'll be back just for the ambiance.
google avatar

Khadija B.

Yelp
Before you even get into the restaurant, you get to shop the most unique items, from plants, cook books, candles, vases, and more. Then you get to the Cafe area and it is enchanted and beautiful setting. The food was amazing, the drinks, I got the 3 course meal, the mushroom soup, burrata beet salad and French toast were epic. The service was impeccable. What an experience

Yelp
This is my 4th time here as I do like the food immensely. The decor is sweet as an old greenhouse converted to a restaurant. Made reservations & seated immediately. Began with bread & special butter as both made on premises...so soft & favorable My friend had boneless beef short ribs which loved !! I had cheeseburger & fries which had cheese sprinkled on to increase flavor. 7 year old had the grilled salmon which he finished completely. Waitress was friendly & helpful !! One my favorites when Media area .

Yelp
I've been coming here for years and never get sick of this place. In addition to just being beautiful, there's something on the menu for everybody! Service was helpful in answering our questions about the menu. I miss BYOB, but the bar is so cool!

Yelp
I love Terrain's cafe. We drive over an hour to come here, but love the aesthetics, food, and service. Today we got there at 10am and were seated immediately (we did have reservations). If you don't have reservations I wouldn't expect to quickly get a table during prime dining hours. We enjoyed our food and also enjoyed browsing the Terrain store. We walked away with some Halloween sale items plus some Christmas gifts. It is worth the drive every time we come here.

Yelp
Update - I found a new favorite menu item and it is the Cauliflower Sandwich! Absolutely delicious! This visit was much better all around and really enjoyed the food
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
I absolutely adore this place!! Highly suggest you make a reservation to get a table! They now offer a drink menu too which is new to this year. Great coffees and teas as well. The ambience in this place is pure perfection in my book. They offer outdoor seating, bar and greenhouse.

Yelp
The ambiance here is just beautiful. It's such a unique space that's open and fresh with all of the greenery. The beet salad with burrata was amazing. I'm still thinking about the salad 3 days later. We also got the cheese plate which was good and a nice sampling of cheeses, fruits and spreads. I also got the mushroom soup which was disappointing. It was a bit bland and needed salt. Service was great as well. Make a reservation because it fills up even on weekdays. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Deanna J.

Yelp
Atmosphere and food are great! Lattes too! Just wish there reservations weren't always sold out. We had to go to another restaurant last weekend instead unfortunately to do our Christmas gifting exchange.

Yelp
Incredibly kind staff, like seriously so nice. I felt so welcome and did not feel rushed at all. The food was great! The bread came in a cute terracotta pot (i forgot a picture i'm sorry!) and was paired with an apple spice butter, which had a sweet yet faint apple taste, which made it incredibly good. I'm not usually into flavored butter, but I really liked this one. I tried the cheese board, which had a variety of both soft and hard cheese. I would highly recommend, it came with some sweets such as delicious jam and honey, and of course fruit! Everything tasted so fresh and homemade. I tried the rolled lasagna, which was very good. It comes with the cheese inside but not the sauce, which is on the plate, instead of inside the lasagna. I thought it added a nice spin to it. My only critique would be to add just a tad more sauce. Other than that, I would highly recommend trying this out. I loved the greenery, which really added to the terrain aesthetic. There are some beautiful plants and all is decorated very well. The noise wasn't too bad. There are quite a few people that can fit into the dining space, and there wasn't too much background noise between tables. Overall,

Yelp
This place is super cool and was a great spot to go at the start of the fall/pumpkin season! They have a cafe in the middle of a garden / greenhouse / store area. All the food was fresh and made with seasonal ingredients. This was the second day they had the fall menu out and it was all delicious! We made a reservation and I'm glad we did because it was packed and then we had to wait 30-40 mins for our table with the reservation. This was fine because it gave us time to walk around the gardens and the store. Definitely a good spot to check out for fresh seasonal food / drink options and super aesthetically pleasing!

Yelp
We reserved a tent and it was incredibly charming. We loved the experience! There was a fire place inside keeping us warm too. Wait staff was super kind and welcoming. Food was great. We definitely will be back!

Yelp
So I can only speak to the 2 coffees I ordered for me & my bestie on a Saturday morning but wow the place itself looked lovely & was thoroughly packed. Plates of yummy looking food were whooshing past as as we waited & I nudged to my bestie w every dish mentally saying we HAVE to come back! The coffees were absolutely delish. Shall report once I return....

Yelp
I came here for my anniversary dinner with my girlfriend and we were immediately enchanted by the garden scenery which made our night seem more romantic and relaxed than other restaurants. The homemade bread and apple spice butter reflected this warm natural setting, being so good we had to ask for another. We got the cheese board to start and it was a wonderful array of hard to soft cheese with sweet fruit and soothing honey. The only criticism of the board is that I would have liked to see more of their fruit preserve because it pair so deliciously with their brie cheese. My girlfriend got their rolled lasagna and I got their boneless braised short rib and both were incredibly delicious. My girlfriend's only issue with the lasagna was that she would have liked to see more of their delicious red sauce in the dish. The braised short rib on the other hand was absolutely flawless, being super tender and flavorful along with those wonderfully light gnocchi was absolutely amazing. But the best part was their dessert. The vanilla ice cream was super fresh and creamy, but the Budino totally blew me away. The Budino can best be described as a tiramisu married a chocolate crumble cake, perfectly mixing rich dark chocolate cake with supper creamy and light marscopone cream. I cannot recommend the Budino enough, which would be reason enough for me to come back. The service is also incredibly sweet and kind and definitely contributed to the comfy vibe.

Yelp
Always on our list when we are in town visiting family! Delicious and fresh food. The shopping area is phenomenal and smells so good of flowers & candles. I wish Cincinnati had a Terrain!

Yelp
Make reservations ahead and be specific on location of seating if strong preference is desired. Visited July 4th holiday weekend and it was busy! Felt rushed post meal bc they needed our 'inside' table with AC for best comfort on hot day! Waitress very pleasant and attentive on a busy day! Food items chosen were well prepared and ability to order fun cocktails while waiting food after ordering food was a BIG PLUS! Gave added time to visit w out of town family during our celebratory rendezvous. Spring and autumn days are BEST for seasons to enjoy all the amenities of this cafe embracing the Styers nursery and shop!
google avatar

Yelp
First time eating here for brunch--the food is delicious with a unique twist on standard fare. The fried avocado Benedict was outstanding with roasted cauliflower as the base! The service is on point always as is the lovely atmosphere and especially around the Christmas holiday season. Plenty of free parking and we also took a stroll around the nursery and store after eating.

Yelp
We ate dinner here and sat inside. The restaurant feels very much like a green house with lights, plants, and fun natural decorations. It's very cozy and romantic. The tables were a little close but not full all night so it was ok. The food was great! The gnocchi was different than traditional but even better. The cheese board was delicious with goat cheese and lots of other fun stuff to dip into like honey. My husband got the tuna which was done very nicely. Our server was attentive. Would like to come back again!

Yelp
is it ok ti serve food take from the table you served it to, quickly come scoop it away onlt to serve it to the table 4 tables over ? After we've eaten from it ? Things that make you go hmmmm about Terrain Cafe

Yelp
I really wanted to fall in love with this place. The setting, within the Terrain store, is absolutely adorable and quirky - basically the inside of a greenhouse, whimsically decorated. Guarantee if you come with a bunch of girlfriends for a fancy pants meal, you'll all want to whip out your cameras to take a picture. The only reason it got 3 stars was FOR the ambiance. Alas, I made reservations too late and we ended up outside on a fairly steamy day. Lucky for us we got shade. As for the meal - PRO TIP - Don't come hungry. Didn't know this place was famous for its flower pot bread, which is a lovely idea. The actual size of the bread is about the size of your palm so split between 3 people, it's maybe a bite or two each. Loved the sweet whipped butter. A small glass of lemonade is $5. I ordered the crab quiche, and for an eyewatering $18 dollars for what basically was a six inch tin pie plate surrounded by a few sprigs of spring lettuce, it was disappointing as far as quantity and flavor, which was completely bland. The "salad" was supposed to be simply dressed, but I couldn't taste anything. The size of the quiche was barely bigger than the end of a fork. Service was OK, but had to wait forever to cash out and had to go chasing after the server since the hostess refused to help us out after waiting outside, forgotten.

Yelp
Great food and drinks. We lucked outa d skipped the Waite by getting 2 bars seats. We had the burger and egg breakfast with bacon and sausage links. Service is spot on, with the various drinks tasting great. Downside... only a single toilet for all the men to use. Women have their own restroom and care share the men's.

Yelp
One of my top 5 restaurants. Even busier than was last time I was here. Reservations definitely needed and still might have to wait. Excellent food, fast service and great ambiance wherever you sit. I had the mushroom soup, so heavenly! Exudes mushroom flavor! Had the smoked salmon toast which had a nice twist of beets and capers on top. Bread in the clay pot with herb butter, always special. I had the pink grapefruit thyme gin fizz to start!
google avatar

Cheng Z.

Yelp
This place is the restaurant version of the fashion store "Anthropologie". The ambience is the core. The food and drinks are okay but not the greatest. We liked the lemonade and cheesecake but not so much the entrees. It also seems to be a wedding venue. There was a couple having their wedding in the house/building next door.
google avatar

Lilly B.

Yelp
The ambience of terrain is so beautiful! The natural smells of flowers leading to the café is so refreshing! This place is a one stop shop for dinner, plants, and beautiful items in the store. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. The menu is well-rounded and has a lot of fresh options with something for everyone! The salmon was perfectly cooked to my liking and paired with beets and a creamy onion sauce. I always have a great experience here!

Yelp
I came here about ten years ago when my family happened to be in the area, and I do not remember much of the meal, but I do remember loving the place. Two things that stuck out to me at the time was the atmosphere and the ice cream. The garden theme of the restaurant is so creative and comforting, and the ice cream was super creamy. I have wanted to come back here for so long, so to celebrate my birthday my mom and I came here. We did not have a reservation, as we were not sure what time we would be arriving. We had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated on a Friday afternoon, so I highly recommend making a reservation. However, waiting for the table was no trouble, since we just explored the store attached to the restaurant. We could have spent hours in there! Once we were seated we were given water in mason jars, which I absolutely love, and their complimentary flower pot bread. The butter that comes with the bread is always a different flavor, and ours was vanilla lavender. Despite the hype around the flower pot bread, that was probably the least exciting part of the meal, but still not bad. Having trouble deciding what to order, our server helped us choose the Terrain Burger. We both ordered it and it was definitely a great choice! The burger tasted fresh and the balsamic onion jam was an amazing touch. My mom also order the Arugula & Pear Salad. She said it was the best salad she's ever had and loved how all the flavors complimented each other. Finally, we ordered the Chocolate Terrarium for dessert and our server even put a candle alongside the dessert. This dessert is definitely a must try! The dark chocolate cake is not too sweet and the matcha crunch is so creative and delicious! I highly recommend Terrain Cafe to anyone looking for a good meal with a relaxing ambiance. I cannot wait to come back!

Yelp
This is an amazing restaurant. Everything is made from scratch. They have seasonal menus with options always changing. I had their mushroom soup. It was the best I've ever had. I highly recommend it. I had their shrimp and grits with a little hot sauce, and it had some pesto on it when it came. It was fantastic. Another person had their egg frittata which they loved. Two people in our party had avocado toast, which was outstanding. The bread for the avocado toast was quite delicious not your standard bread definitely homemade. If you want to eat at this restaurant in most cases, you must have a reservation, you can make a reservation online. This restaurant is inside a greenhouse. So in the winter it tends to be a little bit on the chillier side not cold just a sweater is in order for Comfort. It's a delightful atmosphere with lots of glass as you can imagine being a greenhouse it's like you're sitting outside in some places. They also have a greenhouse store attached with many plants and different types of items like that available for purchase. A nice place just to walk around and check out.

Kelly F.

Yelp
The service was kind, but untrained and absent. The worst part - it was terribly cold. We were told the heater was broken. We had to wear our coats and hats. We should have been notified ahead that there was no heat and we could have rescheduled. The cheeseboard was delivered without a knife and no explanation of what the cheeses were. The bread served in the terracotta pot was undercooked in the middle and served with a sugary sweet cinnamon butter. In previous visits the bread has always been scrumptious. The entrees were fine, not delicious. The ambience was 5 stars. It's a beautiful, rustic setting just like the attached store.
google avatar

Karen K.

Yelp
The food was fantastic, the service was attentive incredible and the ambiance was enchanting.

Yelp
The Ambiance of this beautiful tucked away garden cafe is truly captivating. The bread, served in a clay pot was delicious and served with a homemade hibiscus and vanilla butter that was just so tasty. I could eat the bread all day! It was fresh, warm and melted in my mouth. The appetizers were really good- especially the quinoa fritters and green chick pea hummus. I got the chipotle pork tenderloin and the taste of the tenderloin was absolutely divine. It was served with a grit cake that was very very tasty- I am not a big grits fan so I would have preferred potatoes or another accompaniment but it was still an excellent choice. Kids got the grilled salmon dish and enjoyed it. Service was phenomenal. I enjoyed my experience and will be back.

Yelp
We always enjoy dining at the Terrain Cafe in Glen Mills PA. Cuisine is always excellent along with the nice atmosphere and premier service.

Linda M.

Yelp
If you think you don't need a reservation, think again. After parking, we walked on a dirt trail to find a small cafe tucked in the corner. The hostess immediately told us there was no more wait time unless we wanted to wait until dinner, which was in 6 hours. I kindly explained that it was my birthday and we were looking to have a quick brunch before venturing out on the day. She didn't seem least bit empathetic or concerned, so we left. Our shoes are dirty and our time has been wasted.
google avatar

Lynny L.

Yelp
Driven by Terrain so many times and was excited to finally eat here. We had a reservation and were greeted by a very friendly hostess, but our table was awful, we were shoved against the wall and we didn't even get a view of the adorable ambiance:( Our waiter had zero personality or table waiting skills. Although the food was overpriced, it was tasty and the bread in the flower pot was so cute. After our dinner, I couldn't wait to go check out the store, but it was closed:( If I knew it was going to close before the rest of the restaurant I would have arrived earlier to check it out. I had much higher expectations of this place, seemed like a lot of disappointments:( BUT since the food was different and decent, I just might give them another chance for their brunch and hopefully have a more positive experience because it is a beautiful, unique place.
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
The cafe is so beautiful with cute plants everywhere the staff are always so friendly and it has such an elegant organic vibe. The food is good some dishes are better than others. The servers are very kind and attentive. It's fun to browse their store as well!

Yelp
The food was done well. We were there for brunch. I would suggest a reservation. We loved the location and ambiance of the room.

Lauryn E.

Yelp
Had a wonderful lunch with a friend. Tried something new this time; the burrata and beet salad and it was phenomenal. Would definitely get it again. I highly recommend the terrain burger for something heavier. I had mushroom soup and truffle fries with my salad for the perfect lunch. Our server Quinn was so kind, energetic and knowledgeable. The hostess was incredibly accommodating despite us being late for our reservation. Love this spot!
google avatar

Jena P.

Yelp
We came here for dinner before Longwood Gardens. The ambience is incredibly charming and enchanting!! The flower pot bread was a nice touch and i believe their butter changes with the seasons - our bread was served with pumpkin/toasted marshmallow butter, which was delicious. The Gingerbread Chai Latte was probably the best hot drink that i've ever had, no lie! Truffle fries were perfect. For dinner, I had the Seared Scallops, which were delicious with the various delicate flavors, however, they needed a deeper sear on them - they came out a bit "blonde" for my taste in scallops. The Chocolate Terrarium is a MUST - absolutely delicious!

Lauren H.

Yelp
Got lucky to walk in without reservations to sit at the bar to grab a quick lunch. Great service and tastier food!
google avatar

Jake P.

Yelp
Great food. Great ambiance. Great service. A bit difficult to find the cafe as the property is dense with many sections.

Madelyn L.

Yelp
Beautiful venue but unfortunate I got sat at the spot I said was "terrible" when I walked in. Loved the burger with added egg and truffle fries, yolk was nice and juicy runny. Don't make this selection if you are going on a first date if you know what I mean. Second date is fine though. By the way, my boyfriend loves burger. RT raw too. I got mine medium it was great. Great spot to bring your best friends mom. The dessert was out of this world. Terrarium mousse without any added moss though. The bread in the flower pot is ideal is better than pot (2024). Great water. Ice cream definitely resembles the butter. Is it the same? Only Ashley may know. Tell jokes. Eat food. Laugh a lot. And live well. Thank you ladies and gentlemen. Amen. God bless America. Proverbs 19:23.
google avatar

Kyre P.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible food. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the shop attached to the restaurant was incredible. Decor is gorgeous and floral, fitting the aesthetic of their garden items. We definitely want to come back for breakfast and outdoor plants/items!
google avatar

Anny Z.

Yelp
Adorable vibes, a bit overpriced. Farm to table, delicately crafted. Golden Oat Latte strongly tastes of tumeric. Short rib and eggs a bit salty.

Mark P.

Yelp
Turned us away at our reservation time with 20+ tables open and suggested we sit at the crowded bar. Came back 10 minutes later to watch the three tables that were behind us be seated. Rudely greeted by the seating manager(?), not hostess, and not greeted at all by our server. Dirty utensil. A cheese plate covered in bees left sitting two tables away. This used to be an upscale place. Now it just has upscale prices. Toasted chicken peas were chewy and pot pie was lukewarm.
google avatar

Yia-Ming L.

Yelp
I was a bit disappointed with Terrain Cafe. The ambiance was so cute and perfect of my friends and I. We love all things plants. The service was great! I was allowed to come in a bit earlier than my party to set up. I wanted to do my bridesmaid-proposal there. Many of my friends recommended it or did either their wedding or special event at Terrain. Additional, our server was amazing! He explained the menu, told us the highly recommended and timed the food nicely so not everything came out at the same time. The food though. The food was not the most flavorful. It was really bland and their dishes are a bit pricey. I ordered the lox sandwich and my sister ordered the salad with chicken. The lox sandwich was ok. The fries were a bit overcooked and hard. The chicken was a bit burnt and dry. I've only been there once so maybe it was an off day for the kitchen. I won't mind going again in the future and retry the food.

Felice J.

Yelp
I ordered the grill cheese sandwich with truffle fries and chai latte. The tea was delicious however the grill cheese was disappointing. It was a bit over cooked for my liking and didn't really have much cheese also not warm at all. The woman at the next table had the same thing , hers had cheese oozing out of the sandwich.... Guess she got all the cheese , also hers was not well done
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Ambiance 10/10. Food 10/10. Service 10/10. So friendly and farm to table feel I definitely want to return bc everything was so delicious. The raspberry lemonade was perfect :) definitely recommend for breakfast or brunch.
google avatar

Kendra G.

Yelp
Great food and great ambiance! As for the other reviews that mention portion sizes--it must depend on what is ordered. The ingredients are all fresh and you can tell! The menu lists farms/local produce partners where their ingredients are sourced from. I went for the Harvest Bowl. It is definitely a filling option and the vegetables used change based on the season. The Sea Salt Caramel Latte is also delicious! The flavor is great and well balanced. My waiter for the day was kind and had great recommendations. If there is a wait to be sat the entire plant nursery and the shop are more than enough to keep you busy and then some! The layout is gorgeous and there are also plenty of books in the shop to peruse. AND THE BREAD... home made and comes out hot and fresh. The butter flavor also rotates and I happened to be here when it was watermelon... I was hesitant but it was Great! A light watermelon flavor and sweet!!

Yelp
Food for thought: why is this beautiful place reservations only? You stop in and notice so many empty tables then find out you can't sit down for a nice lil treat because all of them are reserved. That is a huge let down, especially when hungry....
