Fantastic rooftop views and food worth coming back for. Expertly shucked oysters, and exceptional cocktails. We came early, so the service was awesome. Our server was relatively new but very attentive and knowledgeable. I'd recommend getting there earlier to nab a table by the water view!

Google
Overall, I was very disappointed. The spot is nice but not worth the hype!!!!I ordered a Cezar salad with chicken and my salad was drenched in dressing despite the fact that I had advised the waiter prior that I wanted light dressing. The chicken was horrible and dry. I had to send it back not once but twice!!!! That’s how bad it was.The server’s response was that he didn’t work in the kitchen and was very nonchalant. I called upon the manager Yanis, who made a poor attempt to rectify the situation. The other parties ordered burger and we also had truffle fries, which were not crispy. Best to enjoy the view, have a cocktail and keep it moving. Would not recommend

I haden't gone there in years but had good memories of the place and boy oh boy was I disappointed. The Antonopoulos group use to be a gage of top quality, clearly since the split up that is no longer the case. My client wanted to go there so we did and everything was just wrong since we sat down, the most popular dishes on the menu were not available on a Tuesday early evening. So no cevice and no salmon tartare. They no longer serve pitchers of sangria or anything ales for some reason. We ended up ordering a cesar salad which was average at best and I am being generous. My client seem to say he did enjoy his beef tartare even do it lacked flavour and seasoning, but the worst part were the drinks at over 20$ each I expect a decent mohito with at least a lime 🍋‍🟩 in there. This is THE worst Mohito I ever had and my client's sangria didn't look much better. Judge by yourself from the pictures. The server was also very annoying and chatty katy, we were in a meeting discussing business and he was really annoying trying to make lame Quebecois jokes to get a tip I guess. Would you pay over a 100$ for this?

We had a wonderful brunch on the terrace, which offered a beautiful view of old Montreal and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were super nice, and the service struck a perfect balance — relaxed yet efficient. The food was delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented. It was a truly relaxing experience and a perfect way to start off a Sunday. We’ll definitely be coming back — this place is an absolute gem.

🌸 Terrasse Nelligan – Old Port🌸 We went to Terrasse Nelligan in the Old Port for one of my girlfriend’s birthday brunch to start off our day, and it was such a great choice. The atmosphere was amazing with beautiful views over the Old Port, and our waitress was so sweet and attentive. We all had the Purple Haze drink, which has a hint of lavender, and it was absolutely incredible—I would honestly go back just for that drink. Two of us had the lobster roll, which was next level - so fresh, buttery, and flavorful, easily the star of the meal. Two of us had the Nelligan burger with cherry marmalade, which was good and a solid classic, but definitely didn’t compare to the lobster roll. One of us had the roasted butternut squash, which was delicious and comforting, and we also tried the shrimp bao buns, which were super tasty as well. We shared a cheesecake for dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending. The views here are gorgeous, and on a nice sunny day, it’s the perfect place for brunch or lunch. They also have valet, which is super convenient in the Old Port. Overall, Terrasse Nelligan is 100% worth visiting, especially for the lobster roll, the Purple Haze drink, and the beautiful summer vibes. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
First time dining out on a terrasse with friends! Food and cocktail drinks are great but I gotta recommend the mini charcuterie board, perfect for sharing with your family or friends. For cocktails, the Hugo spritz is best if you're into sweet drinks. 🍹 Service is excellent and staff was super kind and warm. ☺️ If you want to enjoy a beautiful summer evening out with family and friends while taking in a breathtaking view of the city, this is the place to go!

Google
Terrasse Nelligan was okay, the food was a little bland and their water is lukewarm. The service was good, but very slow. My table ordered the oysters (very good, 7.5/10) the tuna tartare (7/10), truffle parm fries (8/10), the katsu chicken sando (very dry, chicken tastes like frozen food, it wasn't katsu it was nuggets, sauce is only on top so the bread is very dry and it's not very pleasant when you try to eat it; 4/10), the salade niçoise (5/10, the tuna tasted weird, the rest didn't really taste like anything) and finally the shrimp bao (6/10). As for the drinks we had strawberry mojitos, they were good. Overall, it was an ok experience, I wouldn't recommend this place for their food, but it's a nice spot for pictures.

Google
Nelligan Terrace is a top spot if you’re looking for lively energy, stylish crowds, and stunning rooftop views. The atmosphere here is what really makes it: a retractable awning offers comfort whether you’re enjoying the sun or hiding from a surprise rain shower, and the music is always popping, setting a vibrant tone without overwhelming conversation. It draws a young, attractive crowd, making it feel like a social scene worth checking out. The food, however, is a mixed bag. The ceviche is definitely not what you’d expect if you’re used to the bright, citrus-forward flavors of Mexican-style ceviche—it leans in a more neutral, subtle direction that might not satisfy traditional ceviche fans. The oysters are on the smaller side, but they pack solid flavor for their size. Skip the hummus—bland and forgettable. The chicken katsu sandwich is more of a classic fried chicken sandwich than a true katsu, but it’s still tasty. The French fries are well-executed, crispy and seasoned just right, and the roasted butternut squash is a surprisingly solid choice if you’re looking for a comforting side. Drinks are another strong point here—well-balanced and thoughtfully made, perfect for enjoying while taking in the rooftop ambiance. Overall, Nelligan Terrace is more about the experience and the setting than it is a foodie destination. That said, a few menu hits and good drinks keep it worth the visit. Just be sure to make a reservation—the place fills up quickly, and it’s not one you’ll want to miss.

Yelp
This place has excellent service. People are amicable and attentive. Their mocktails are good but not worth the price. The food looks very pricey (they add truffle and caviar), but I think that is what comes with a spot in this hotel. Music is loud, so it was challenging to enjoy a chill a conversation with a nice view. Also, it is full of wasps flying around. I'd say it is a tourist trap for the rich and wealthy.

Yelp
Catchy, ambient music, great views of the Notre Dame Basilica, and a nice bar make this a fun place to meet up for a drink. We went once during the day while rain poured around us and once at night. The cocktails are up to par but not outstanding. The ambience and views more than make up for it, in my opinion

Yelp
This Terasse has a super dope ambiance! Located on the rooftop of Hotel Nelligan it's the vibe of the summer!! We came in here with a friend for lunch. It was a monday and aparently they don't have their chef on Mondays so we were super bummed because their menu is BASIC! Very few options. We went with the prosciutto and burrata platter and Greek Salad there was not much food unfortunately The food we got was super fresh and deeelish even if it was very limited!! The cheese burrata was amazing I really liked it a lot!!! My cocktail was deelish I had the Morgan Colada yummy totally recommend it it's on the sweeter summer vibe! They do Valet parking here so you can just park your car and enjoyyyy the summer terasse vibe with no headaches Service: Really nice waiters and very professional always coming around to check on us making sure all our needs are met! Overall, I would definitely come back here on a more busier day so we can explore the full menu ! Cheers

Yelp
Great service, tasty food, wonderful breezes and wonderful view. Would return to dine but would request a table w chairs. These lounge couches look nice but make you slouch- no back support!

Yelp
We came to Terrasse Nelligan on our first day in Montreal. It is a beautiful rooftop bar and restaurant that is a must-stop if you are visiting Montreal on a nice day. Our waitress, Jasmine, was truly one of the kindest waitresses that I have ever had and provided suggestions of what to see in the city to not only me and my husband but to other tables she was tending to. She also gave us recommendations on food and cocktails while we were dining, all of which were delicious! There are a wide variety of cocktails and I loved that they offered pitcher options which made the drinks much more reasonably priced. The only thing that I would mention is that we had booked a 1:30 pm reservation on Open Table and were hoping to push our reservation to 2 pm since we were exploring the city. It said in the app we had to call the restaurant in order to change our reservation but after calling 5 times, we were never able to get through to anyone. We left a voicemail around 11 am asking for someone to call us back to confirm our reservation was changed but that never happened. We arrived for our 1:30 pm reservation on time since it stated there would be a fee if we did not show up on time and the hostess did not acknowledge that we had left a voicemail (so they clearly had not been checking the mailbox). Not a big deal but just want to note that if you need to get in touch with the restaurant, it is not done easily.

Yelp
Fabulous view of all the architecture in the city. A wonderful sunset and setting. Service left a lot to be desired as did the menu and food. Ordered two salads that did not come with lettuce or greens. Both over salted and over dressed.

Yelp
We waited over an hour with no food. Not only that no one apologized on top of that they attempted to charge is for food we didn't even get. Awful NEVER GOING back EVER

Yelp
Terasse Nelligan is on the 5th floor of Hotel Nelligan in the old port. Nice view, a great selection of cocktails and all sort of alcoholic beverages, however food wise very limited. We were a group of 3 and all ordered Monterey Jack cheeseburger and also order fried calamari too start off. Before I discuss the meal I want to talk about the service and the seating. The chairs were very uncomfortable, kinda like patio chairs and when u sit down specially if you are wearing shorts or short skirt you can feel it cutting and leaving marks on you skin. We asked our waitress if she had something that we can put on top. She said yes and left, after more than 20 minutes she came back with a piece of small cardboard, u know those thing you put under the table to level it. We explained that we wanted cushions or something. She said she can offer us napkins. Anyways we took 4-5 napkins and placed under us. Service was very slow, our waiter was not attentive at all. Although i know many restaurants are having difficulty with staff but this was not the case here as there was many servers, but ours was either not there or not attentive at all. As for the meals, the calamari was great, drinks were wonderful but burgers nothing really special, very normal.

Yelp
Good restaurant - breakfast good variety. Boutique Hotel very well maintained. Went in early November easy walk to Notre Dame.

Yelp
Negative stars if possible. Sub-par to any standards. The menu has 4 options for entrees and a few more for appetizers, none of which looked appealing. I came here with my friends, visiting Montreal for the first time, and as a recommendation from a Montreal native. It took 20 mins for my one cocktail to come out. Another hour and half for my food, which was 2 pieces of bread, a ball of burrata, 3 pieces of prosciutto and a drizzle of olive oil. They forgot about, and then messed up my friend's order, which was a simple veggie burger with no mayo. TLDR: The service was extremely slow. The view was disappointing. The food was mediocre at best. And, it was a maze to find the women's bathroom. Not worth my time or money.

Jordan W.

Yelp
Drinks were fine. Service was a bit slow. Beef skewers were very tough. Wait staff was good.

Yelp
Ok I had a pretty good time here! I went for a business lunch and ordered from their special lunch menu. I had the strip loin steak with fries and the tomato basil gazpacho. During the weekday lunch time it's not busy at all! We took a reservation just in case. My lunch companion thought the customer service was poor but I thought it was quite okay. Normally I don't go for cold soups but I surprisingly really enjoyed the gazpacho and found myself slurping it up in a matter of moments--it had a nice umami kick it to it and freshness from the basil. The steak was a little bit tough in some places but overall quite satisfactory and I can't believe I ate the whole plate of fries. They're good fries when they're not too greasy. On a warm sunny day sitting in the shade is quite pleasant, especially when there's a bit of a breeze going on. When you're seated you can't actually see very much in terms of view but it's nice to have rooftop experience.

Yelp
My sister and I resumed our monthly brunches. We decided to reserve a terrace. At hotel Nelligan in old port, on the 5th floor, the beautiful terrace welcomes you with open arms. The staff are friendly, amiable and super hygienic. I started my brunch with a grapefruit mimosa; it was lovely and soothing. Then, we started with mushroom quiche and pastries as appetizers. The quiche was delicious, flavorful and it had a stunning presentation with apple coleslaw on the side. The pastries were unremarkable. The main dishes were a letdown. It had a sloppy presentation. The salmon Benedict was so bland. The energy bowl (chickpeas, eggs, chickens, green beans, walnuts, corn, bok choy, and avocado...) was soaking in a pond of oil. Both main dishes were not finished. The prices were little bit high for the quality of food. In overall, the best part of this terrace was the service.
google avatar

David Allan K.

Yelp
A lively rooftop atmosphere in Old Montreal above the Hotel Nelligan. The terrace is a popular hotspot for locals and tourists alike, and is a perfect breather when spending the day in the Old Port. The sangria is nice to share, and there is a decent menu for nibbles too. Depending on the humidity, there are too often wasps flying around, less of a problem on a breezy day.

Yelp
Need a separate listing for CAFE NELLI (on the main level of Hotel Nelligan. We were walking old Montreal looking for a place with good GF options (my wife being gluten intolerant), after abandoning a different restaurant where we had booked Friday night reservations. That place (Mangiafoco) supposedly known for their GF Neopolitan, did not have it. What a delight to find Cafe Nelli across the street with several low gluten options. It's a hidden gem, (I assume) because it's the lower level of the Hotel. Our waiter Nathan was awesome. My wife had grilled salmon on a bed of pureed beluga lentils with veggies, I had the chicken which came with sweet potato fries (literally, cooked to perfection and the best I've ever had). Destination restaurants get all of attention, but sometimes get too puffy about themselves. Cafe Nelli was a delightful find... very reasonable too!

Yelp
This hotel SMELLS the minute you walk in the door. It's a very old hotel and desperately needs renovation. The authenticity of its "old ness" is no longer charming. Even taking the elevator & walking up the stairs that spill out to the terrasse above is also a smelly experience and not in a good way. Will not go back.

Yelp
Dinner with a beautiful view on Old port Montreal. Friendly and caring service, great cocktails. The reason I'm rating 4 stars is because I the menu wasn't rich enough. It is limited with small choices. However it is definitely worth putting in your bucket list. It is a lovely place.

Yelp
Went for brunch with a group of friends. I didn't have high expectations, it's a terrasse in the old Port in tourist season but figured food would be ok and I'd have a good coffee. The terrasse is very nice. Pretty spacious and lots of tables. They were able to accommodate 12 of us and we only reserved 2 days before. The food was ok. I ordered the eggs Benedict, the Hollandaise sauce was broken and the chorizo ended up being 2 thin slices. Definity not worth $19. Their coffee machine was broken so I couldn't have coffee, which was pretty dispointing. The service wasn't great. Our waiter forgot one of our friends had already paid and became aggravated. When our friend showed him the bill the waiter calmed down. Quite unprofessional. Overall, there are so many better places to go for brunch!
google avatar

Kathryn B.

Yelp
Went here for drinks last night. Drinks were okay, I got a Strawberry cocktail and it didn't taste like much. My boyfriend got the Ginger Cocktail which was also okay. Everything was pretty watered down. What you're really paying for is the rooftop and the happy hour vibes.
google avatar

Yelp
I grant this place 3.5 stars. Located in the heart of Vieux Port, it has exception views of the water. I came here with a group of friends for brunch, we had a reservation, but still had to wait just a little while, that was okay because it was a beautiful sunny day. The menu for food isn't all that extensive, there weren't many options for brunch, which was kind of disappointing. There were crepes, burger, lobster poutine, and some other options. I was feeling like treating myself so I got the lobster poutine, it was pretty good, but very expensive at $25 for a small-ish portion. The drinks menu was good. There were a lot of very interesting and refreshing options, but once again it was pretty expensive, on average $12-$15 per drink. The service was fine too, the waiter was funny and a little weird. If I were a tourist and in Vieux Port, I would visit this place for the view and decent food, but as a local person, I probably wouldn't go again.
google avatar

Katerina B.

Yelp
Nice view, friendly service and yammy cocktails, the combination of all three makes it a perfect place for after-work drinks or to meet your summer date for pre-dinner drinks. It is a little pricey than your usual local lounge bar, but the location and atmosphere will compensate for that. Our service was very nice and attentive, even when it got a little busier. Definitely a cool place to try for your next mid-week evening out.

Yelp
I never, ever write Yelp reviews: positive or negative. My experience here was so fascinatingly negative and shockingly underwhelming that I feel compelled to do so. After being sat for drinks, we waited over 30 minutes to have anyone stop by our table and ask for our orders. This was, of course, after we asked two separate servers to place our order. So, we placed our order. Twenty minutes later, our waiter (I call him that only out of pure generosity because he accomplished none of the tasks one would generally expect a waiter to accomplish) stopped by and, despite being faced by empty water glasses only, asked if we were good. Alas, how can I be good, I've been at this bar now for about an hour without ever receiving a drink. He was shocked(!) that our drinks had never arrived, even though presumably he was the one who would be bringing them. He promised they would arrive shortly. They never arrived, we left 20 minutes later. Nice views, though.
google avatar

Annie Z.

Yelp
My cousin who attends college in Montreal recommended this to us, mainly for the view from the rooftop. Went around 2 pm on a Saturday morning. No wait for a party of 4, but the place was a bit crowded. Although it was nice to be outside on a sunny, warm day, it was really hard to get a great view unless you are one of a lucky few tables at the end of the restaurant. Our server was very friendly, took the time to make good recommendations and bring out a special birthday treat for someone in our group. I think the drinks are probably stronger for this restaurant than the food, the white sangria was delicious. Very sweet, light, but still with a decent amount of alcohol. Out of the food that we ordered, the squid ink linguini was prob the best. The chicken taquitos were average, and my least favorite was the poutine. Overall a great place to check out on a day with good weather, especially tourists. Probably would recommend to get drinks here vs getting dinner.

Kelly M.

Yelp
They only had 4 snack options that were ridiculously overpriced. Chips and guacamole w/ dip was $20! Service was lacking, our waiter was probably new. Extremely disappointed!

Kitty H.

Yelp
So this terrace has a lovely view of the old port. Unfortunately the service is slow but OK, we all understand that staffing is difficult these days. What is unforgiveable is the music. There is a DJ who is playing pure high decibel noise - over and over again, the same thing - no variation - all day. Decent music would enhance the terrace, (for example, jazz, reggae, salsa or even 80s music) but this DJ is catering to spin classes, not relaxed drinks and food. We decided not to eat there because of it, and the people sitting next to us decided to forego dessert because they just couldn't take it any more.
google avatar

Addy B.

Yelp
It's on a rooftop. How do you get up there? Enter from the hotel and it's 5th floor. It's a gorgeous view of the river and Vieux Port. The cocktails are priced well around 13 CAD. The sangria Claire was refreshing after spending hours in the sun. The food and service was okay. My friends got the fish tacos and I had the sky burger. Apparently you could only get the burger well done, which i found surprising. Even though it was well done, it wasn't dry and it was seasoned well. It was a busy Sunday evening and it took our server a while to get back to us to take our order, which wasn't a issue. She seemed rushed the whole time. I would return for drinks on the rooftop after dinner or before dinner-somewhere else. Location, ambiance and views are a 5. Food- 3 stars.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Didn't have much of a wait, on the 5th floor. Very hip place, quite lively and fun rooftop bar. Decent view but there's only limited sun exposure. A few of the other rooftop restaurants were drinks only but this place had food! A bit on the pricier end though. Wouldn't recommend, maybe just have dinner somewhere else beforehand and hit up another Terrence for drinks only and chill.

Yelp
While on a girls trip to Montreal, we stopped into Terrace Nelligan at the Nelligan hotel for some roof top drinks since we were in the Old town area. It was a Sunday night around 7:00 pm. We had no trouble getting a table which was surprising since in NYC where we are from, it is impossible to get seating on a rooftop on a really nice night. They have a lot of different cocktails and we tried a couple that were all very good. I would recommend this place for a drink on a nice night. I didn't try the food so can't give any feedback on that.

Kimberley W.

Yelp
Don't bother making a reservation, they do not honor it. They make you wait in a crowded hot stairwell and hallway with all the folks who do not have a reservation and take whoever is in line first. However, they clearly state in their description that you only have a five minute window of being late for your reservation and they will cancel it! We were there 10 minutes before our reservation which they did not honor anyway. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait. While we were waiting in the steaming hot line after about 10 minutes a staff member came down the line informing all patrons that this is a DRINK VENUE ONLY and that NO FOOD is available. This was not stated anywhere on their web page. My glimpse of the terrace only showed me a bare bones uncomfortable looking furniture and fair atmosphere. Don't waste your time here. Also, at the time of my arrival 10 minutes before my reservation, there was plenty of available seating, so our reservation should have been honored.
google avatar

Fred M.

Yelp
This place has a spectacular view and ambience. And being part of the Nelligan, it has style and cachet. Unfortunately, unlike the other restaurants in the Nelligan, the staff seem overwhelmed. I had instant service from the maitre D' to find me a seat (great) and then waited for 20 minutes to be served at the bar. At the end of the night when I asked for my cheque, it was delivered with no customer contact at all... I was handed a machine by the young lady and had to navigate the vendor menus before getting to mine while she was busy doing other things. The food here is not bad, and in my past visits the service has been earnest if strained, but tonight it was simply inadequate.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite place thus far in Montreal. Don't be stupid, come here. It's located in the best area and the atmosphere is amazing. The lobster poutine was the best dish I've had in Montreal and quite possibly in the past few months. Our server Alexis was incredible and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and make incredible recommendations. The bartender Jordan made incredible cocktails. You must see this place if you come to the Old Port of Montreal. It is a must go stop!

Yelp
We were a table of 5 and sat facing the kitchen and preparation area we see everything that goes on as we wait for our order. We had to wait over an hour for our food. A service- bus boy is in the kitchen area to bring out the plates for clients he touches all the plates and puts crouton type crackers on each of the client plates with his bare fingers. Yes, bare fingers. Moments later he scratches his head with both hands and rubs his hair with the same unwashed hands and proceeds to manipulate more food without utensils. He tastes the cracker pops one in his mouth and then wiped his face with his hand. This happens more than once in a short period of time. Plates of food are sitting on the shelf area for food that is ready and waiting to be brought to the clients it's getting cold. They are there for a long time, at least 10 minutes this young man is confused he is alone and nothing is moving. He keeps reading the notes on the orders it looks like he does not understand - there is nobody to help him- I loose my appetite. Several of the staff have eaten the French fries, crackers and ham in the same way with their fingers in the service area. This also includes the manager. This is true, and very serious. Seriously? After I told the manager about this he told me this is usual that preparation is done with bare hands. I asked if it is normal to wipe your face and scratch your hair too without any hygiene or gloves when handling food? Now I feel very nauseous as I write this review. It was disgusting, the waiter was a nice guy but could not say or do much, as for the manager he said he'd speak to the busboy- not sure if there was never any coaching before why would there be any now?

Yelp
Love to come to this place in the summer! The vibe is very chill and I love the sangria! Plus its on a rooftop in Old Montreal, so the view is nice. The staff are friendly and attentive. I've tried some of their food and it's also been consistently good. would recommend if you need a place for a happy hour or just to relax with a drink in the summertime.

Yelp
We were wandering around Montreal looking for a spot to grab a drink and I suddenly looked up and saw people on the roof. I immediately knew where I wanted to go lol. We weren't quite sure how to get there, but inquired at the hotel below who sent us straight up through their elevators. At ~11:30am on a Saturday this place was getting busy, but we happily found 2 spots at the bar. We both settled on cocktails and I found the bartenders to be more than helpful. They helped me narrow down my choice and I selected an Ice Wine cocktail. I was even more pleased when I saw the bartender sample my drink before giving it too me, that was good bartending! Didn't eat anything, as we were headed elsewhere for lunch.

Yelp
Without a doubt one of the best rooftop patios in Old Montreal. Great view of the water on one side and city view on the other. Fried calamari is a must on their menu.

Yelp
OK so I have been these four tresses Nelligan, William Gray, Place D'Armes, and Sur L'Auberge. They are all within 5min walk of each other and all almost the same, I wonder if they are operated by the same company? Here is my dilemma, the settings are great for all of them nice view and good ambiance, the food and drinks however severely lacking especially for the price! So I am ranking Neligan as the best (4 stars maybe) - best drinks and ambiance! The other 3 all get three stars because...15 dollars a drink and it tastes like they poured a premade cocktail mix... and the food is very lacking $20 dollar lobster role on a chewy dry hot dog bun with little scraps of lobster claw! Although I should say that the drinks and bartender quality is better at Neligan and so is the ambiance! I will post the same review for all four places.

Yelp
We had an excellent time at Terrasses Nelligan! I have celiac disease and have a hard time finding food I can eat that's delicious but Terrasses Nelligan has some solid options. The staff is was very helpful and friendly - we had Nicholas as our server and he was awesome! The view was unbelievably beautiful and the terrace was beautiful too. We will definitely be back as soon as we're back in Montreal.

Yelp
Went on Sunday, the first nice day of the year. Even acknowledging that they just opened the service was absolutely a disaster. The waiter took about 25 mins to bring out three drinks and that was after a 15 minute wait to even order. I should note that the patio wasn't even that full. The drinks (2 old fashioneds and a maple ginger ale) were not made well with the old fashioned running short on bitters. After that it was another 15 mins of trying to flag someone down to get our bill eventually requiring me to go to the bar and speak with the manager who offered no apologies for his staffs awful service in order to compel him to let us pay his restaurant. Needless to say despite the nice patio I don't think I'll ever return.

Yelp
The place itself had a lot of potential. Good music, good cocktails, rooftop bar. But the service was bizarrely bad. Someone came over once within the 75 minutes we were there to get our first drink. But then no one came over after for another hour. We would've stayed if the place wasn't a disaster operationally. Shame because it started out promising.

Yelp
Love the view, atmosphere, everthing about it! Went here on my last night in Montreal and it was well worth it. Drinks are a bit more pricey, so I wouldn't blow all my money here. This is a cute place to bring a date, friends, or going solo.

Yelp
Overpriced, little to no view of anything, bad (borderline contempt) service from nasty waiter. Very average, overpriced drinks. Fine for the hotel/tourist-y crowd but locals/foodies should not waste their time or money.

Yelp
Crowded on a weekend evening but if you tough out the wait, the view is amazing and the end result is worth it. Lots of cocktails on the menu and decent food selection. The food isn't mindblowing at all, the drinks are also not mind-blowing. But you come here for the atmosphere. On the weekend, this place is rowdy.

Yelp
Awesome spot for brunch! It feels like you are really in vacation. Two of us got the lobster poutine which unfortunately had super undercooked potatoes and only a few tiny pieces of lobster. The ambiance and drinks made up for it though! It would be a great place for a brunch date

Yelp
Perhaps my experience was uncommon but the service (or lack thereof) from our waiter was enough to ruin the entire meal when my boyfriend and I went last month. I've had subpar service before and that's fine, I don't get riled up over it (especially since his coworkers were picking up the slack just fine), but this time it was so uncalled for and inexplicable (since he was serving and engaging with every other table in his section) that it made me feel super shitty. Huge disappointment because I was looking forward to trying this place out and the food was pretty decent, but if that's how you're going to treat some of your patrons, that's messed up. I only regret not bringing it up to management at the time, but wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.

Yelp
Okay so being honest here, I heard amazing reviews of this place and I was super excited to try it. We arrived at 3 and were told we could sit at the bar until we could be seated and we were also told the kitchen would open at 4. Mind you my friend and I were starving, so we waited patiently at the bar and had the white sangria (lychee one) which was so delicious I had to have two. Fast forward to being seated at 3:45, we were eagerly awaiting being ready to order. We were reassured several times that we would be able to order at 4, until 4 o'clock came around and they decided to close the kitchen due to very very light drizzle in the weather. I was so frustrated because not only had we been sitting there for An hour waiting for the kitchen to open, we were reassured SEVERAL times that the kitchen would DEFINITELY open. It's seriously a shame because I'm sure the food would've been divine otherwise.

Yelp
My husband and I were in Montreal celebrating his birthday. We ended up hearing about the Terrace Nelligan from another couple we met. We were staying a block away from Notre Dame so it was a short walk for us. The views from the terrace were beautiful and we really enjoyed the mini tarragon mango lobster rolls(although there could've been about more lobster meat in them), and some cocktails. Our server, Cindy was great! At one point it started to drizzle and she quickly had us move over to a covered bar seat. She also gave us a great list of places to go for brunch, dinner and cocktails from a local's viewpoint! She was very friendly and the service was great. I would recommend anyone staying in Montreal visit this rooftop bar to enjoy a different view of Notre Dame and enjoy some yummy food and drinks!

Yelp
NO VEG OPTIONS AVAILABLE! Since the brunch menu only had about 8 choices (no I'm not kidding) I opted to get their avocado toast and enquired if I could swap the egg for fruit or maybe fries. Our waitress at first said they couldn't do that. After much convincing from my group she finally went to the back and asked about my request. She came back and stated that they didn't have fruit and exchanging eggs for fries would be an additional cost. Sooo....I left !!!! My group stayed behind but my sister and I left for a more satisfying brunch (and I was so glad I did) I'm not one to do that but I honestly did not feel like paying the full $15 price when they WOULDN'T ACCOMMODATE my diet. I was later told by my party that the food was not worth the price they paid. The view was nice so if that makes if you full, this is the place for you =P [[On a side note]] While the rest of my party was there, a lady had a mini stroke. Luckily, my cousin and his wife are nurses and immediately jumped into action. My cousin's wife had to ask multiple times to get help from the staff. It was later noted that some of the staff were laughing. I understand they're not used to dealing with medical emergencies, but at least have the common courtesy to be sensitive regarding the situation! The lady turned out to be okay but refused for the ambulance to be called (against my cousin's recommendation). Please, please, please, go straight to the hospital if this happens to you even if you're on vacation and you saw your physician 3 weeks ago with a clean bill of health. A trip to the hospital could save your life!

Yelp
Ambience-wise...there's no way to be this view. What a perfect place to wind down the day especially on a nice night! It gets super busy, but they take reservations Sun-Tues evenings. Fun cocktails...I had the clear sangria...sweet and refreshing! We only had appies (meat and cheese platters) - they were pretty standards. But hey, are we REALLY here for the food??!

Yelp
This used to be such a nice place--even just last year! Today a friend I returned, looking forward to spend some time under the open sky and enjoying the amazing view of the harbour. We were to be disappointed. Bad sign no. 1 was the smell of mould and stale beer in the entry hallway--an olfactory cocktail usually associated with cheap campus pubs. Too bad the prices at Terrasse Nelligan aren't campus-level prices! More on that below. We quickly observed that the management had decided to cover most of the terrasse with a big tent and place a line of potted mini-cedar trees between the customers and the harbour view. Word to the managers: the whole reason people go to a rooftop terrasse is because they *like* that free, big-sky feeling of being up on an open rooftop, and because they actually *want* to be able to look at the harbour. Another bad management decision: adding more and louder speakers, so that the plainly awful pop music is guaranteed to dominate your table conversation. Further, my friend reported that the women's washroom was dirty and the stall didn't even have a roll of toilet paper--and then, upon returning from the washroom and passing the elevators, she saw a workman hauling in big bags of frozen pre-cooked French fries. Those were likely the "artisanal chips" on the menu, for which they charge $9. One last piece of advice to the management: if you're gonna allow your place to stink like a campus dive and play some Pitbull rubbish on your PA system, you simply cannot charge $54 for a pitcher of sangria.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch at Terrasse Nelligan on a recommendation and were thrilled we did. We were there during the height of the lunch rush, but did not have to wait long for a table. The food was excellent and our waitress, Cindy, was attentive and made the experience even more enjoyable. Cindy knew the menu well and and helped pick perfect dishes. I had the Poutine and the fries were perfect - not too crisp, not at all soggy. My wife had the Caesar Salad with pulled chicken and it was dressed and seasoned well. Cindy rushed to make sure I had a Cappuccino to go when we sadly had to leave. We are definitely coming back when we return to Montreal for another visit.
