Google
Delicious coffee and amazing customer service. The Terremoto Latte was lovely as well as the fresh blueberry pastry. I can’t wait to come back! This is top on my list.

Google
How come i didn’t know about this place earlier?? The flat white was so so smooth with a hint a floral and even bread-y flavor. Love it!!

Bianca Ritorto

Google
One of the best flat whites I have tried in the city, maybe ever. Top notch quality, super cozy spot. Will keep coming back!

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.

Google
My conventional wisdom would've told me to leave this seemingly light roasted Ethiopian small batch just plain black, but I've been enjoying the Maillard effect recently, plus I'd already had black coffee today. I found it delicious & a bit surprisingly grassy, though that might've been the stevia talking!

Google
Incredible shot. Medium roast more fruity then floral Definetly reccomend. Proper shot of Espresso Good atmosphere with calming music. Rather swift in service. Good place for morning coffee

Google
Good coffee at this small Chelsea shop, local vibes. A little cramped inside, especially when busy, but we took our drinks outside on a nice autumn afternoon. Cookie was tasty. Coffee was good.

Google
Stopped by terremoto today in hopes of having some actual good espresso after visiting Manjul in Soho. I had the best espresso ever which was so refreshing being that most of these new coffee shops are all aesthetics. The lovely barista took me through all the espresso options and I decided to go with her recommendation which was the Salvadorian spro. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Really good coffee! They have a lot of more specialty beans for you to choose from, so if you get curious, definitely give them a go. Certainly pricey for those options, but I'm sure you're getting what you pay for. I just got a standard cortado, and it was done exceptionally well. Really full bodied flavor, with really nicely pulled foam that had great texture. We also got a iced lavender latte, which they also did well with a strong lavender flavor. There's not too much seating cause it's a small shop, so feels more like a grab and go spot. Definitely a really great cup of coffee though!

Gab G.

Yelp
Re-reviewing because the oat milk latte is sooo good (even better than the flat white) and they have Onyx coffee available now! Also, Javi is the best.

Nicole K.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way to Chelsea Market to grab a cold brew. It's a cute small cafe that sells the paintings hung on the walls. The drinks are a bit pricey compared to other cafes. I did get the last pour of cold brew which may have caused it to taste a little watered down (or maybe it's not that strong to begin with).

Atiq R.

Yelp
Great coffee. Nice looking "for here" cups/coffee mugs. These cups are interesting. From outside it looks like these cups are big and we are getting more coffee. But inside the cup you can see there's less space! Thanks Javi for making nice drinks for us. No restroom in this store. SSID: Terremoto_Coffee password: BUYBETTERCOFFEE (note all uppercase)

Yelp
Great coffee and you can actually taste the difference, even though it's located within mountains of coffee shops in Chelsea.

Janel S.

Yelp
Checked this place out due to a recommendation. Turned out well! I didn't order food but I did order some coffee. The place smelled heavenly. Like you could smell the fresh ground coffee, the sweetness of the expresso. The nitro was silky smooth, you could tell it was made with care. This is a small spot but the coffee is really good, the barista knowledgeable, and there's a little bench outside. Chelsey Pier isn't too far either.

Yelp
I have to tell yall something: the Cold Brew here is amazing. The floral and fruity notes completely fill your mouth upon the first sip. This is the best Cold Brew I've had in New York in my life. At this price point, it's already exceptionally good.

Bonnie T.

Yelp
delicious terremoto caramel oat latte. has a subtle sea salt aftertaste which added an extra dimension of flavor. with it being ~$10, i probably wouldn't be back. i love a good specialty latte but with it being at that high of a cost with also a small serving size it wasn't ideal. barista was also not particularly friendly and more curt. vibes were more off and the place is rather small. nice if you want to grab a cup of joe outside chelsea market but for the cost i'm not sure it's more than a decent and convenient kick of caffeine to-go. the specialty lattes are what originally drew me in but you can get similar ones for cheaper all around!

Dan B.

Yelp
Very good cortado. This space is small (only 2 tables) but I showed up mid day and was able to snag one of them for a few minutes of (air conditioned) bliss.

MT L.

Yelp
Lavender Purple Rain Latte! Been stopping by over the last five or six years for this. Each time, the space -- with the pretty wallpaper -- is neat and clean and most of all the staff are personable, friendly, and efficient. And I got the latte iced for the first time and it came with crushed ice!

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Conveniently on my walk to the metro. I liked the design of the cafe and the drinks sounded interesting so I decided to stop by. The sign at the top has a fun way to change the quotes with it flipping through the letters until it lands on the new message. I got the terramoto latte which seems to be the sweetest option on their menu but it was way too bitter for my taste and I didn't enjoy it at all. The cashier was ok but did seem a little rushed too.

De H.

Yelp
Came here on a rainy day. I was craving for a hot chai tea latte. It's my fav drink drying rainy day and winter time. I got my drink pretty fast but the staff is kinda rude and the tone was not pleasant when I asked if they can do less sweet.

Krystal A.

Yelp
Needs more transparent pricing, overpriced hipster coffee. Seriously there are better spots. Also paper straws are hella ableist

Ari L.

Yelp
Not a huge selection of food, but the coffee is really good. It's a 1 man show in a small shop though so the line can be long and slow. But damn it's a good cup of coffee.

Claire L.

Yelp
I think I've been too spoiled with delicious LA coffee roasters or maybe this was an off day but my cappuccino was just okay. I wish the espresso taste was stronger and more flavorful. A cute little shop in a lovely location though! Not sure if I would come back.

Andrea S.

Yelp
I had the space oddity coffee with macadamia milk and I was excited to have the rose latte but it didn't taste like rose at all. Perhaps the espresso was too strong and overpowers the rose.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Very rich cup of black coffee. Only one table inside. Lots of tables on the sidewalk.

Dave L.

Yelp
Their coffee's as good as their witty quotes on their boards. That is, really good. Pink bourbon is where it's at! Last I was here, I had an espresso to stay (sat on a bench outside), and got a bag of their "PINK BOURBON DM" beans to go. Worth a trip. Credit accepted.

Emily Y.

Yelp
Hmm I'm a little bummed but changing my review because yes, my first visit was great, but since then it's been inconsistent. I ordered a space oddity again (latte with rose syrup) and received a regular latte. For a drink that costs nearly 8 bucks, I want what I ordered and am pretty annoyed I basically paid double what a regular latte costs. I didn't get to try it until I was at work and now I won't be able to step out to get this fixed, but it shouldn't have been wrong in the first place. I also tried calling the number listed here and no one picked up. Not sure if I'll be back.

Yelp
Excellent coffee, but the service is unwelcoming, the space is cramped and the wifi doesn't work (staff simply shrugged their shoulders and said it just doesn't sometimes). Not a place to enjoy your coffee and read. Funny enough, there are many statements (above the counter, on the wifi agreement) passive aggressively threatening people to behave and be empathetic. Ironically entertaining given that the staff propped open the door in 34 degree weather and refused to close it after 15 minutes of steady cold air rushing into the tiny shop. There are so many local coffee shops without the rude service in the neighborhood. I recommend Yanni's and Cafe Aronne. If you don't plan on spending any time in the shop, then it's a good place for coffee.

Allan M.

Yelp
Awesome espresso drinks and vibe on a somewhat quiet block in Chelsea. Friendly service, with locals coming and going in the mix. Excellent space also. Everything well executed.

Olivia S.

Yelp
Wow, I am super disappointed in myself for not writing a review of Terremoto Coffee earlier! One of the things I love about roaming around in the city is discovering little neighborhood gems normally missed on a regular bustling day. And a few years ago, I discovered Terremoto, just close enough to Chelsea Market, yet tucked away on 15th St. I immediately fell in love with their coffee aaaaaand the coffee shop! My go-to drink is the purple rain latte. Every sip is always rich & smooth. There's always a consistency of flavor & texture, regardless of which barista makes it. And I completely adore this coffee shop! It's elegant with a classy ambience & a touch of character. I'm big fan of supporting local artists & Terremoto does exactly that by hanging original artwork done by locals. And another thing I love about this shop is how they bring in a bit of South American culture into the mix. :) If you don't swing by while in the area, you're truly missing out. And it's shops like Terremoto that make you want to come back for more.

Anushka M.

Yelp
Came across this coffee shop while walking towards Chelsea market. It's a small spot with a good variety of specialty coffee drinks available. I got the purple rain latte which is lavender flavored. It's was a good balance of sweet without overpowering the espresso. My drink was made quickly and beautifully served!

Vicky R.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a latte over the weekend. We tried the terremoto latte which had a caramel flavor in it. It wasn't too sweet which I appreciated. I loved the creaminess of the latte and the espresso was very smooth. They had fun live music going on outside. Definitely pricy but would come back to try more of their speciality lattes

Jasna R.

Yelp
A little pricey ($3 for a medium drip coffee) but solid drinks and flakey, buttery croissants (and a few other baked goods) in a cute cafe near Little Island. The hot drinks come in a neat cork-lined cup, which feels and looks cool and ensures you don't have to awkwardly mess with a cup sleeve. They also have outdoor, covered seating.

Karoline S.

Yelp
The vibes and coffee were amazing! Such a nice little place, highly recommend! Great service as well.

Vito G.

Yelp
I dunno if its something in the water over here but this rivals Kobrick for best coffee.

Katherine J.

Yelp
The ambiance and music of this small spot lured us in, but the barista was very unfriendly and sour like the overpriced coffee. We won't be back!

Chaela N.

Yelp
Stopped here randomly because we needed an afternoon coffee. Terremoto did not disappoint. I ordered an iced terremoto coffee (I honestly can't remember the name of the drink forgive me) and it hit the spot on a hot afternoon. The barista was also nice and helpful for our first time visiting.

Brandy L.

Yelp
The BEST coffee in the city! The guys are really knowledgeable and prepare a great latte. We grabbed an espresso drink there every morning while In the city. Not to mention the 24k gold Slayer machine was a beaut.

Sayyeda D.

Yelp
T emperament could be improved E ffectively by drinking a cup o' Joe R eady or not here is another day R ough night out? Hey we've all been there E ven the electric shock can't wake you up M ore caffeine! More delicious coffee! O asis in the heart of Chelsea T erremoto, by the way, means "earthquake" in Italian O ff to start a great day with their espresso @thedogtrine

Rebecca C.

Yelp
I don't normally write reviews but this place is terrible and the staff is so rude. We ordered our drinks and after 5 minutes after we sat down, we were chased out because the place closes at 4. We were not allowed to finish our drinks inside. Had we known that the place closes at 4 and even though customer order drinks before the closing they are allowed to stay until they finish their drinks, we wouldn't be ordering from them.

Margarita F.

Yelp
Cute tiny coffee shop near the High Line! It fits only about a couple of tables, which makes Terremoto even a little romantic. You should try their yummy specialty drinks (they are written on the board on the right of the counter). The lavender latte was subtle, but you could taste the flavor just enough.

Sam K.

Yelp
This HAS to be the smoothest, silkiest coffee I've had in awhile. I got a cappuccino with almond milk (~$5) and never wanted her to end. The service was quick and the baristas were kind. There is a bench and single table w seat, so you can sit for a bit inside if you're lucky! There's plenty of outdoor seating. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area!

Tracy H.

Yelp
Great coffee and reasonably priced. Inside has 1 table by the window and a bench, but tons of outdoor seating

Bryson L.

Yelp
Honestly, was not too impressed. I came here because I saw them on Too Good To Go where you can purchase a mystery bag at the end of their business day. While the bag wasn't the greatest, I was more angered by the service of the worker that day. They were not very friendly at all, and kind of just brushed me off. It felt very rude, and not just in the snooty barista kind of way, this felt unwelcoming. Wouldn't come back again, there are plenty coffee shops in this area.

Stella K.

Yelp
Service was meh, and the lavender latte (purple rain) was equally meh. The lavender flavor was nice but I couldn't taste the coffee as it was way too milky. With so many coffee shops in the city, I definitely would not come here again.

Kathryn T.

Yelp
Best coffee spot in Chelsea hands down!! Here is was you need to know as of October 2020: 1. Some of the best specialty iced coffee you can get in the city. The Purple Rain might be my favorite lavender latte in Manhattan. 2. Ample outdoor seating with umbrellas 3. Limited capacity in the store 4. Friendly staff that is quick to whip up your favorite drink If you're about to walk the High Line and want to get coffee from a place off the beaten path, Terremoto is one of the best options you have.

Tiffany W.

Yelp
Cute spot for a quick stop for coffee and love the vibe. They have some creative coffees but loved standard latte. High quality coffee and has become a go-to

Kenneth D.

Yelp
Terremoto is a cute spot with some serious "Look, Dad, I fixed it for you!" interior masonry, and a concrete deck chair out front that has little choice other than to be the best seat in the house. There's some busy art on the walls, presumably for sale if you favor the Black Magic Marker School of painters. When you order espresso, they give you the lemon wedge and the cup of fizzy water. I'd take a star off for not having any kind of rubbish bin inside or out of the store to dispose of the very disposable cups, but charity begins at home; likewise, I do not provide a garbage can for random passers-by to throw out their shit, so I get it. On the other hand, I'm not selling flavored hot water in paper cups out of my front door, so there's that. Bottom line, I always round up for myself, so I do it for everyone else, too.

Melissa D.

Yelp
Rude customer service for the barely mediocre coffee. Won't be back but happy to have tried it once to give this honest review.

Josh U.

Yelp
Great drip and a super friendly and knowledgeable barista. What more could you ask for?

Lee P.

Yelp
Small coffee shop with a very chill vibe. Coffee tastes great and staff are friendship. What else is there?

Luis T.

Yelp
barista look like hes about to make you the most fire coffee ever and sounds italian or some shit then you tip and hang out until the drink is in hand and you walk out into june happy when taking a sip you realize you fucked up because the coffee tastes like water

Matthew N.

Yelp
This place has a love affair with coffee. And I'm ok with that. The coffee is not over roasted, and today's blend from Honduras was light and had traces of nuts. Pricing is fair for Chelsea. The sign on the sidewalk is always funny, with coffee wisdom such as "coffee: because you should hate your job with enthusiasm"! The barrista was impossibly polite and positive, matching the vibe of the cups (see attached photo). He gave me a free sample of the daily roast, which was appreciated. The only drawback is the lack of seating, but that is expected given the small space. I 'd make this a weekly visit for sure.

Charvi B.

Yelp
I paid $10 for a dirty chai here (I know NYC is expensive ) but unfortunately my drink just did not hit. It was bitter and not creamy unfortunately. Would come back when they have their ice cream drinks in stock but never for a chai. Service was also meh, it seemed like they didn't care we were there while giving utmost attention to their other customers...

Alex S.

Yelp
Very solid coffee at this cute cafe. The baristas are very careful and precise in their brewing and the cortados (which is what I usually get) are great. But what distinguishes this coffee shop from other high-quality ones is that on weekends, they host amazing live jazz. This creates a wonderful ambiance. I do all I can to come here as much as possible when the musicians are playing; they have been constantly outstanding and enjoying great coffee while sitting outside and listening to wonderful jazz is a great pleasure of city living.

Mary P.

Yelp
Play that sade (that's sha-day for you babies who don't know the 90s R&B wonder) because this is some smooth silky latte experience I'm undergoing! Of course the whole milk helps. Maybe not my lack of lactose dissolving enzymes but I have a few working models. The store itself is celebrating 1 year open since January 2016. The cups are black with gold encouragement and thanks. The specialty lattes are fun and have floral or sweet motives. The barista was a nice guy even though the four people in the coffeehouse were blasting their voices over his explanations of everything. There's a little self explanatory sign for espresso drink newbs on things like "what's a latte?". And they have matcha but I wasn't gonna get it this time. I got the space oddity which has rose petal flavoring, I guess just in time for my special valentine. Definitely come here. If you can snag a table, nice! Otherwise some obnoxious people were sitting here when I walked in and I'd rather not hear their full blast lame-o conversation. To go is just as good. Mmmmm smooooooth.

Naomi S.

Yelp
Tasted watery and too milky. The caramel and rose lattes tasted identical. The cold brew tasted weird
