Jazz Wednesdays at Tesserae Rooftop in the Thompson Hotel Buckhead was just what I needed for a laid-back evening with a friend. The atmosphere was easygoing and cool--perfect for unwinding.
Since it was Dry January for me, I can't speak to the cocktails, but just a heads-up: the mocktails are priced about the same as cocktails.
Food-wise, my friend had the rainbow trout, and it was delicious. I went for the "shareable" crab cake and the sesame milk buns with honey butter. FYI--the crab cake is not shareable, but it was worth it. As for the buns, they were soft and delightful, though I think a salted butter would have hit better than the honey butter. Still, everything was flavorful and well-prepared.
The jazz? Pure vibes. A beautiful, grown crowd soaking up soothing yet lively tunes. The musicians did their thing, playing familiar favorites.
All in all, it was a smooth and enjoyable evening--perfect for catching up with a friend, date night or just soaking in the music solo.
