Tesserae

I had breakfast here every day while staying at the hotel and overall enjoyed the food. Service can be slow, and is a lot better early in the morning when there’s less people in the restaurant. The lobster BLT had lots of lobster but I didn’t care for the thick cut of bacon. It was hard and quite tough to chew. The fries it came with were nicely seasoned. The fried chicken was nicely fried and crispy on the outside, although it was a bit dry on the inside. The french toast was good, soft on the inside with a crisp exterior, sweet but not overly sweet, with a nice berry flavor. The parfait was similarly good, a hint of sweetness with lots of berries. The orange juice appeared to be fresh squeezed as well.

The space is very nice and bright. We went for lunch , butternut squash soup was everything! But the fries that came with the steak were extremely salty-like visible salt everywhere. So if you can’t have much salt tell your server before hand just in case

Nice restaurant above the Thompson hotel with great skyline views inside & outside. Food was good, for the price of the Lobster dish it could have been more flavored. My husband enjoyed his steak. We ate around 7:30pm which was great timing to take daylight pictures outside before it got crowded then after dinner we lounged outside & was able to take more pictures without a huge crowd. There’s a Dj inside the restaurant so that added to the great vibe.

I’m surprised to see a lower rating for this restaurant. We ate here for breakfast every day for a 5 day stay at the Thompson and found the food, service and ambiance to be quite good. The lobster roll and Caesar salad were especially good! We came up for drinks one night and were happy with the overall experience as well.

I had an amazing experience celebrating my husband’s birthday at this restaurant, and a big part of it was thanks to our waiter, David. He was incredibly kind, quick, and knowledgeable about the ingredients in both the dishes and cocktails. His recommendations were spot-on! He made the evening feel so special for both me and my husband, and his exceptional service truly made me fall in love with this place. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Tesserae at the Thompson Hotel Buckhead is always an exceptional experience. From the beautiful ambience and warm welcome to the phenomenal food and service, it never disappoints. The mushroom risotto is a must-try—perfectly creamy and seasoned to perfection. The trout and pork chop are just as incredible, and you honestly can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Service is top-tier—ask for DJ, she’s amazing! She anticipates your needs and makes the entire experience even better. Plus, the stunning city views make this spot truly special. If you’re looking for a relaxing, upscale dining experience, Tesserae is a must-visit!

We had the luxury of coming and spending the evening at The Thompson and made reservations for The Tersserae. From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with such warmth and welcomeness. The manager on duty Kiara, knew that we were celebrating a special occasion and gave us one of the best seats in the house. Our server, Gina took time and special attentiveness with us and made sure that we had the best night. The entire staff gave such joy. They just wanted to make sure that we had a beautiful evening. The decor is amazing. The food is wonderful and will definitely be back. Please keep these two gems of team members as they truly made our night special.

I really enjoyed my lunch experience at Tesserae - from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. David was my waiter and he was knowledgeable of the menu (food and drinks), offered efficient and friendly service, and went above and beyond to make my experience more pleasurable. I had the shrimp sandwich app, which was flavorful and delicious. That coleslaw was flawless. I ordered the Sips with Views cocktail, which was delectable and a great pairing with my meal (as had been recommended by David). All of this goodness accompanied by an elegant atmosphere, good crowd, and fantastic views. What more could a girl ask for? Worth every penny. I'll be visiting soon again. Scarlett A.

My best friend and I came here after an anniversary gala (arriving around 10:30pm on a Friday night). We knew we wanted to go somewhere where we wouldn't feel out of place being dressed in long dresses. On the 10th floor of this beautiful hotel, we were greeted by a friendly host who sat us down near the patio so we had a view of buckhead and was near the DJ. I ordered a mezcal cocktail that on the menu, and my friend got the French 75 rendition. We really enjoyed our cocktails. Mine interestingly was served in a floral mug that we felt didn't really match the vibe of the bar, but it was good nonetheless. Overall, I'd come back here and probably try some of their food next time, too. We found parking on the street right next to the hotel, too, so a win for not having to pay.

Jazz Wednesdays at Tesserae Rooftop in the Thompson Hotel Buckhead was just what I needed for a laid-back evening with a friend. The atmosphere was easygoing and cool--perfect for unwinding. Since it was Dry January for me, I can't speak to the cocktails, but just a heads-up: the mocktails are priced about the same as cocktails. Food-wise, my friend had the rainbow trout, and it was delicious. I went for the "shareable" crab cake and the sesame milk buns with honey butter. FYI--the crab cake is not shareable, but it was worth it. As for the buns, they were soft and delightful, though I think a salted butter would have hit better than the honey butter. Still, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. The jazz? Pure vibes. A beautiful, grown crowd soaking up soothing yet lively tunes. The musicians did their thing, playing familiar favorites. All in all, it was a smooth and enjoyable evening--perfect for catching up with a friend, date night or just soaking in the music solo.

What a nice unexpected surprised. I found myself here by accident. And, the surprise made it more special. If you are looking for a special breakfast/brunch spot, Tesserae answers the call. Had a great steak and eggs complimented with some added spices. My partner in crime arrived late. He ordered the same thing after seeing my epic meal. Enjoy

The rooftop was beautiful, has stunning views of the city and enough seating in and outdoors. The server was nice but the service was slow so be prepared for that. This place is not ideal for groups, they have rules for groups for example 10 people have to order $40 worth of food so I don't suggest going in a large group and highly suggest making a reservation in advance if you can. I did not get anything to eat however, I tried a zero proof cocktail the Berry Moon, I personally didn't like it I expected it to be sweet and fruity but it tasted like a V8. Parking is valet or you can park in the garage next door if you can't find street parking.

I visited Tesserae with my wife and her good friend to celebrate the anniversary of their clothing business. They heard great things about this place on Tik Tok and also had great views, so we decided to book a reservation. The Parking: They have a valet service & there is also free parking on the street across the way. The Service: The service was pretty good. It took our service a good while to come out, but once they came, she continued to check up on us. The Atmosphere: Beautiful place! When you go there, you have to eat outside if it's warm. It is so beautiful outside. The Food: I ordered the Old Bay Crinkle Cut Fries ($9) and the Smoked Wings ($18). Both were REALLY delicious! The perfect combination! Overall, definitely check them out. It's a nice vibe for friends!

Drink was good, but a lot smaller than I expected, especially for the price. Chicken sliders were good. Views were nice. Overall, it's just very expensive for what it is and I don't think I would return. Initially the bartenders seemed like they didn't even want to pay attention to me.

The vibes are unmatched! Book a reservation! It's almost impossible to walk in. Valet parking is available for $15 for 4 hours or you may luck up on street parking. There's also a parking deck nearby. The view is beautiful. It's perfect for date night, girls night, birthday bites and drinks- you name it. Our server Suki was attentive and sweet! She was amazing- even remembered our names and let about a party of 8 split checks! She was an angel! For food we tried the deviled eggs, lobster roll and Bibb lettuce salad. I loved my salad- goat cheese and cranberries. I wanted something light and it was perfect. For drinks we tried the rooftop vibes, a pear martini, espresso martini and wines. Beautifully done. The DJ had a great playlist. She set the vibe all night.

I wish I had just come for drinks because this would have been a higher rating. Cocktails were innovative and well balanced. I liked the fall them they infused. The restaurant itself is very trendy and the rooftop is nice. DJ played music at a decibel where you could still have a conversation. Our waiter was fun and seemed to really want to make the experience better. The food was meh. Had a couple of appetizers and was not satisfied, particularly the hot crab dip was served with stale house made chips and needed a baguette. It also wasn't that hot despite being serviced in a cast iron dish. Overall, I'd come back for the scene, but not the eats.

A rooftop I ahvrmt tried until when I was invited to a l irate event and it was stellar . View is amazing overlooking the best of Atlanta with a exclusive vibe to it , service was stellar , Food was excellent . Can't wait to go back .

This place is super cute! The rooftop balcony was wet so we didn't get to fully enjoy it but the view was nice. Parking was easy to find and the hostess was a pleasure to meet! The main drawback from this place is that we were told that we couldn't create our own drinks. We had to order what was on the menu but could substitute items. We were also told that we could not just order a glass of Sangria. We had to order it in the large format that was on the menu (which is for more than 2 people lol). With that being said, we just ended up ordering some fries and enjoying the view before we left. The old bay fries were delicious and the portion was pretty good! Moral of the story, be sure to look at the menu before going to a bar lol Do not assume that you can create your own drinks to order! I would go back just for the fries !

We popped in on a quiet night and had a five star experience! If you want a spacious rooftop bar with absolutely beautiful views,, you had better go here. It's in the Thompson hotel, who knew. The staff is sweet, quick and attentive. Girl, but let's talk about the food. The food is amazing! I order salmon chips and cauliflower. Flavors so unique and delicious omg. I was so happy this night. Our drinks were delicious and we had a blast dancing too!

Nice ambiance. Beautiful view of Buckhead. Make sure when you make reservations you ask for "outside" lounge seating. I think once you make your reservations online, you have to follow up with a call to ask for outdoor seating. Otherwise, they will seat you inside, which isn't a bad view but outside is very beautiful at night.

Had the absolute worst experience at Tesserae tonight. Service - We were super excited to check out this rooftop, but were disappointed rather quickly. Our reservation was for 7:15, which we showed up on time for and were sat promptly. It then took 25 minutes for a server to come over to our table (it was not crowded). We finally got our drinks at 8:00, 45 minutes after we sat down. Our server did not once, nor any other staff member, come up to check on us throughout our stay here. We had to flag her down to get the check. For valet - we left the restaurant and directly asked the hostess if they validated our valet. She said "no we do not offer that." Once we got downstairs to request our car, the valet asked if we validated our parking, to which we said no they told us this was not an option. The valet then laughed at us suggesting we go back upstairs to get validated because "they're lazy." To put it short - I would not recommend. The views are great; however, no view is worth the absolute disregard we felt as customers here tonight.

My husband and I visited for a date night and had an amazing experience. With reservations for a Thursday evening, we avoided the busyness of the weekend. The service and food were both impeccable. There was also a live dj. After enjoying the meal, we visited the rooftop area to enjoy beautiful views of downtown. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great aesthetics and views. While I didn't get a full meal, I enjoyed both their Cajun fries and cauliflower dish. I would be interested in tasting more! Great service and servers, extremely friendly and helpful. The view of the city is great and you have the option to sit both indoors and outdoors. There's also a large bar inside. The DJ played light music, nothing too crazy or loud. I went on a Saturday and while the vibe was a bit stiff - Tessarae is the perfect spot to come with a large party to hang and enjoy the views of the city without feeling the need to party hard. We had an office holiday brunch reservation for 10 people. The DAY BEFORE, we got a call that the restaurant had a buy-out, so our reservation was cancelled. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! (Dec 2024)

This place is so unprofessional. We were told we couldn't make a reservation on the phone and to try online. We try online, there is no place to make a reservation on their website AND social media. so we arrive at the hostess stand and she informs us that the waitlist is 20-40 minutes. We waited for an hour before we went back to the stand and she told us the waitlist was pointless, they do not honor it, and if we wait ANOTHER hour we will find out if we can get our spot honored or not...rather than her telling us this when we first came in. Completely gaslighted us! Certainly not worth us waiting. Certainly not worth the price. I can't believe this service. So sad. We planned this so far in advance for them to be this disappointing.....

Tesserae Rooftop, located in The Thompson Hotel, Buckhead. Tesserae offers a beautiful Rooftop Ambience that overlooks Downtown Atlanta. Tesserae has excellent food & crafted cocktails. My go-to are the Buffalo Cauliflower, Warm crab dip & Lobster Roll. And my choice of cocktail, Quiet Storm. Everything is delicious & reasonably priced. Service always fantastic along with a clean restaurant. Tesserae is trendy, great for date night, special occasions, girls or guy night out on the town. Amazing Bar service. Great menu selection with a vast wine & champagne list. Valet parking for a fee.

I had an amazing experience here at this rooftop bar on top of the Thompson Hotel in Buckhead. The service was amazing, everyone was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave great suggestions. I didn't have a large appetite, so my guest and I decided to split the burger sliders and fries. Honestly some of the best sliders, I've ever experienced!

Just an unpleasant experience! I got my hopes so high and got so frustrated!! The service is so bad and slow- specially with our server Elizabeth- not sure if because tip is already included but never felt so unwelcome in a place! She was sitting down and chatting with a friend who was in there hanging out , totally ignoring us, being totally unprofessional! Took forever for the check and disappeared for almost 30 min to get our cards! I would not recommend this service! I wish I have had a better experience! Just an observation: I am also writting this review while waiting the server to get the cards , so inconvenient !

The rooftop is definitely a vibe. I went on a Friday night with my girls. They had a DJ playing, libations were flowing. It did take a bit for the food and drinks to come out, but it was worth the wait. It was a nice crowd, nice group of both men and women. I do recommend that you make a reservation.

Wednesday nights with the Jazz set is a whole vibe. The view is amazing. Food and drinks are good.

This is a great place for many reasons. The views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is very grown and sexy and also it's great for a date night. The menu should be revamped but overall I'd return

Surprisingly tasty food. The views were very nice and plenty of seating. The inside bar area is cool, comfy, not as sexy as it could be but close. Our server was great, attentive and talkative lol.

The ambience and views were amazing. Nice, diverse crowd of young professionals. However, the bar and ordering process was a bit of a nightmare. I think they were understaffed, so there was a long wait time to order, and the bartenders seemed flustered which made for less than desirable customer service. I would visit again, but I hope they find a way to open a second bar.

An employee asked the other guest to get up and did not explain the situation to the guest. They then stood frustrated at the bar while we were asked to sit down at the table where we waited for a manager and our server for 15 minutes. All employees involved, including the manager, were miserably rude as they thought we had left without paying. We explained that we were in plain sight and had asked prior, but not one person wanted to hear a word from our mouths. We had to ask for our items to be removed from the bill as only a free round was offered. The manager made a repulsed face that we did not accept her free drink round resolution. Would not recommend and DISGUSTED in their lack of understanding and disrespectful demeanors. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Service nonexistent. On patio bar and had to walk in three times to the bar to get a drink. Promises by staff and manager to have a server come by and none ever did. Tried ordering dessert and manager said she couldn't get anyone in the kitchen downstairs to help her. Finally got dessert but not what we ordered. Terrible.

Rooftop setting is such a vibe. But, get into the all star quality customer service from Nicole and Tatiana...these ladies are simple awesome!!
