I LOVE this place! The food, the people, the atmosphere, the prices, the quality! Pure, unadulterated Italian cuisine. The GM. “Jo” is a fantastic cook and better human being! Her staff loves her and it shows! Ask for Desi, or Parker with fantastic drink selections and the WINE… Italian only, and worth every penny. Don’t miss the live music…. I love this place!

Been here a few times previously and had good but not great experiences - went again tonight and everything was amazing. A lot more flavor, good additions to the menu, and everything tasted so fresh and amazing. Not sure if something has changed or if they just are hitting their groove- but if you've been before and had reservations, would highly recommend going back. Also, love the live music! Pictured is the garlic knots because it's all I remembered to photograph.

I don’t usually have pasta as my first choice of food, but I was driving by Testa Rossa And realized it had been quite some time since I had ordered anything from there. I went with “The Big Ragu”. It was a huge portion for $20 that fed two people. My timing was good as I arrived just ahead of the dinner rush. By the time I left, the restaurant was starting to fill up. I also realized that the garlic bread doubled as an accordion…so, dinner AND a show!

The food was outstanding! Appetizer whipped ricotta was great. Never had anything like this before. I had manicotti. Generous portions, enough for 2 to split. Lemon tiramisu, never knew they had that flavor. I’ve had regular tiramisu many times but this, best I’ve ever had! Piano music Fri, Sat and Sun. Hands down winner place A must try 🩷

vegan pizza & kids pizza with vegan cheese pictured. not our first time here, we enjoy this place ❤️ owner was very kind today, offering us a spicy chili oil for the side. everything made correct and very good. my toddler thoroughly enjoyed the vegan sausage on the pizza, but never tried the kids pizza. 10/10.

We LOVE this place! I ordered the Vodka Rigatoni Burrata and it was delicious. The pasta was cooked absolutely perfect and the sauce was addictive it was so good. My son ordered pizza and he now claims Testa Rossa has the best pizza in Grand Rapids. We will definitely be back. We can't wait to try other menu options, also.

Testa Rossa is a real gem on Wealthy Street, bringing that authentic Italian vibe right to the heart of the Midwest. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this place is something special. The ambiance is beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a cozy Italian trattoria. We went there for dinner, and even though we arrived a bit later in the evening, the service didn’t miss a beat. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to get us settled in, which was much appreciated. We started off with some fantastic appetizers—fried octopus and pizza bread knots. The octopus was perfectly cooked, tender with a nice crispy finish, and the pizza bread knots were a hit—warm, fresh, and loaded with flavor. For the main course, we went big with two large pizzas. One was a classic meatball pizza, and the other was a unique white sauce and potato pizza. Both were excellent. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell the pizzas were made with care. The meatball pizza was hearty and satisfying, while the white sauce and potato pizza offered a nice, creamy twist that was surprisingly good. The portions were generous, so much so that we ended up taking a good portion of it home. And let me tell you, it was just as delicious the next day—always a sign of quality. Overall, Testa Rossa is an awesome spot. The combination of great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service makes it a place we’re definitely looking forward to visiting again. Whether you’re in the mood for a full dinner or just want to enjoy some good Italian food, Testa Rossa has got you covered. It’s a solid 5-star experience, and we can’t wait to go back and try more.

10/10 went here on a date night Friday night and had 0 expectations going in... absolutely amazing. My wife got the margarita pizza and I stole a bite to try it went back and stole a whole Best pizza I have ever eaten (we try a lot of pizza places). Then I had the veal parmesan... yup just as good as the pizza!! Then you add in the live music, those guys were AMAZING!! HAVE EASILY RECOMMEDED THIS PLACE TO AT LEAST 10 OTHER COUPLES AND WILL KEEP RECPMMENDING IT!!!!!

Yelp
I was SO excited when I heard a new Italian place was opening up, especially one with a scratch-made kitchen. Owned by the same people as Electric Cheetah, I knew I was in for some decent food. The restaurant had the cozy vibes of a classic family-owned Italian restaurant you might find in your hometown, but with a few modern accents. We were started with bread and dipping oil, which was perfect to nibble on while we perused the menu. We decided to start with an appetizer, and got the tomato and burrata. Everything tasted so fresh, it was definitely the perfect way to start the meal. After much contemplation (because I love all pastas equally) I ordered the manicotti. I lovedddd the pesto on top. My only complaint is I could've eaten three more plates of it. (Not because the serving size was small- just because of who I am as a person ) My fiancé ordered the New Jersey pizza, and added jalapeños because he's a spicy boi. The crust was crispy but decently thick, in the Sicilian style. I'm not sure if it was the cheese or the sauce, but it tasted like there was a creamy layer under the tomato sauce, which I thought was absolutely heavenly. We of course finished the night with cannolis, because I have never seen a cannoli on a menu and not ordered it. My fiancé had one bite of each, and let me eat the rest, because he is a good man. I can't wait to come back to Testa Rossa! (I have my eyes on the spaghetti and meatballs ) The food was great, and our server was SO kind. It was exactly the experience I was looking for!

Yelp
Currently in their soft opening phase, Testa Rossa just opened in the former Brick Road location. It's part of the Electric Cheetah/Uncle Cheetah Soup Shop group, but the menu is quite a bit different with a focus on pizza, salads, and hoagies. Nate and I stopped in on their first official soft open night and had a good experience. Walking in, there's no obvious designated host stand, so we just kind of waited in the doorway. We were seated quickly but maybe they will set up a host stand just so there's no confusion. The space is comfortable and cozy, not super upscale so come as you are. We ordered some drinks - just beer and wine, but they have a full bar. For food we chose the burrata, a small Caesar salad, and the Testa Rossa pizza. They start with complimentary bread, which was very soft and fresh. I'm now seeing on the menu that they have "bread & oil" listed as an appetizer for $10 so I'm not sure if the bread is always complimentary. Maybe it was just a soft opening thing? Either way, we liked it and ate it all! I loved the Caesar salad as the romaine was crispy and fresh, and the lemon zest gives it a nice kick. The burrata was delicious and I really liked the slightly roasted tomatoes. The crostini were super toasted and too crunchy for me, but I was fine eating the burrata and tomatoes on their own. The pizza came out shortly after and was super hot and SO cheesy. The crust in the middle was a bit soggy and floppy so I chose to knife and fork it. I think the sheer amount of cheese was overwhelming the crust, not that I was mad about it. The cheese was delicious and it had a gremolata/herb mixture sprinkled on that gave it some nice brightness. We were way too full for dessert but they have tiramisu, cannoli, and some other options. Service was great although the restaurant was pretty empty when we went (early on a weeknight). They do have some vegan options for pizza as well as gluten free crust available.

Yelp
I recently ordered TRP for delivery. Overall, great quality food! I can't speak to the atmosphere in this particular review, but here are the items we loved. Caesar salad: wonderful salad! Lemony and garlicky and very fresh and nice. I'm a self proclaimed Caesar salad savant and I'm in love with this variation. Garlic knots: you can't go wrong here! Nice, soft pizza dough in plenty of oil, garlic and parm. High quality marinara dipping sauce as well Ricotta dip: this one will have to have another chance for in person dining. It didn't travel well, though had plenty of nice olives and tomatoes atop. Cannoli: I love a cannoli and this is no exception. Large size and decent flavor. I prefer chocolate chips throughout. My only other note is that the to-go packaging is my least favorite type. Tin foil containers with crimped in cardboard tops. It makes it really painstaking to reheat and difficult to store leftovers without dirtying more dishes. Not to mention, more spills than any other more solid and convenient food storage options. Good job, TRP, looking forward to trying some entrees and checking out the establishment in person.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with another couple. If I could give half stars, I would rate 3.5 stars. Place has casual vibe. Nice to hear live piano and bass music. They have a great cocktail menu, and all 4 of us enjoyed the cocktails we ordered. Ordered the whipped ricotta appetizer and was a little confused thinking we had gotten the wrong app. The ricotta (hidden) was under a mound of tomato/olive topping. We enjoyed the entrees ordered...eggplant parm, pasta with sausage and peas w/ white wine sauce, shrimp and pasta, and a sausage and peppers. Service was a little slow, but friendly. Would come back for pizza takeout which looked pretty good from what we saw passing our table. Nice addition on wealthy st.

Yelp
I've been looking forward to trying Testa Rossa since I saw the construction happening months before! We walked in and were greeted promptly. The vibe is mixed - one side is very relaxed and super cozy, like small town Italian restaurant. However, on the other side, it had a stage for live music and what felt like a speakEZ in back! That side was closed when we walked in but I'd be curious to see the noise level of the restaurant when both sides are busy. It was a super hot day and one of the things I remember is that the water was ICE COLD. Like, I was beyond surprised by this as most of the time, it's cold but not to the point of making my teeth cold! That was only the first glass, maybe it's from the heat outside, but it was very refreshing. Of course, I wanted to try everything on the menu but given there was only two of us, we opted for the special (Chicken Piccata) and a pizza. The bread and oil were complimentary (I was surprised at this given it's on the appetizer menu). The bread was a little toastier than I would have liked but I did enjoy this. While the chicken piccata was good, I'd probably say I liked the pizza a lot better. The dough was crispy and doughy at the same time while remaining fairly thin. Definitely the winner for me that night! I look forward to coming again to try more. I'm always in search of a good Italian restaurant in town and I'm not 100% sold this is my go to yet, but I did enjoy it.

Yelp
We've gone here a couple of time, and will go again. The food is good, and the deserts are great. They have a wide selection of appetizers. We love the live music, which has been there both times we went on weekdays. The bar area is well decorated, although we have never sat there. The food is always delivered in good timing. I removed one start because I think they're still getting their footing. The drink selection is small, but still good, I would just like more specialty cocktails like their sister business Electric Cheetah. The service is okay, the waiters are always nice but seem new to serving. The main dining area needs a little sprucing to match how well decorated the bar area and dining area near the piano is.

Yelp
We started off with the whipped ricotta appetizer-I am obsessed! Read other reviews of this dish and found it to have just the right ratio of cheese and toppings. Pizza is very similar to what we found in Italy-great crust! Vegan friendly options. Try the Italian hard soda-wow! I saw that they DO have live music at times--would like visibility to this schedule for our return visit. Service great!

Yelp
First time here ... Was told upon arrival that they are in the soft opening phase yet. One server on but she was delightful! The table ordered, Eggplant Parmesan, Spaghetti Marinara, Spaghetti with Meatballs & Testa Rossa Pizza. We also had the House Salad. Complimentary bread & oil was also served. Even though the bread was complimentary, they need to up their game on this. Need a more crustier bread that isn't so much like your basic white bread. Salads were tasty and all the pasta dishes were well received. The pizza had ample toppings but the crust needs some work. I noticed deck ovens but wondering if they are hot enough or if the dough needs to be tweaked? Not a crisp bottom at all. Overall was happy and will return...Wine pours were decent!

Yelp
Wow you have to try this place!!! So excited for there to be a middle of the road Italian place on Wealthy! It's not just a pizza place yet it's not high end pricing, it's right in the middle and so so soo delish! We got the burrata appetizer, the marinated tomatoes were so good. The house salad was a great portion for dinner and very fresh. The tomato sauce on the ravioli was homemade and you could tell, so much flavor. Eggplant Parmesan was great! The fresh bread with oil was warm and had so much flavor. This will be a weekly staple for us!

Yelp
Great all around. The whipped ricotta and pizza - were delicious. Tasted like we were back visiting Italy!

Yelp
Had an amazing experience with great food and drink. Service was incredible and personal. Everyone in our party had good-very good food. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
A couple weeks ago, I sat at the back bar with my friends and the bartender basically ignored us. I don't remember her name but she was older. She gave us a hard time about ordering drinks and was rudely questioning the integrity of my friend's ID. After we ordered drinks from her, she walks away and instead of making them or putting our order in the computer, she goes to the broom closet and starts sweeping ? There were only two other people sitting at the bar but she never came back to us so we left.

Kaitlyn P.

Yelp
Food and service were subpar. My pasta was completely overcooked and had no flavor. Garlic knots had no flavor and were soaked in oil. I will not be returning.

Yelp
I didn't enjoy my meal here at all. The atmosphere is off-confusing with the artwork. But more so, the food wasn't great.

Yelp
When someone orders an overpriced 16" pizza, they at least expect it to be the right size. Extremely disappointed.

Yelp
Food is very sub par, been here twice once to try the pizza, it tasted like a Digiorno but saltier. The second time I had chicken Marsala and it tasted like a TV dinner. Service was decent both times though.

Madeline S.

Yelp
I got the margarita pizza and there was way too much sauce on it, so the pizza ended up being soggy. My partner ordered the shrimp scampi and it only came with 4 pieces of shrimp in it. If it were not for the live music, I would have given this place a 2/5 stars.

Yelp
We were excited to try this new restaurant. We love Electric Cheetah and thought whatever new venture they tried would be fantastic. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. Service was slow but we could tell that they were short staffed. Our waiter was very nice but it was only his 3rd day! The food was not impressive. I got a salad and my husband got a pizza and it did not impress. Prices were a bit high and serving size is a bit small. Sadly, we will not be making this our new pizza place.

Brian M.

Yelp
An okay start but has some room for improvement. Like others have said, we tried this knowing they're part of the Electric Cheetah family. Based on our experience at other EC businesses (which have been great!), I expected tons of flavor, which unfortunately wasn't the case here. The service was decent (friendly but flustered), but you can tell they're still figuring things out. We ordered the Caesar salad, meatball sub, margarita pizza, and chicken Marsala. We had only good things to say about the salad and would definitely order again. The meatball sub was good, but lacked some flavor, could've used more sauce, and the bread was a bit burnt. All are pretty easy fixes. The pizza was also pretty good but could use some more flavor. The crust when it initially came out had a great crisp but there was so much oil that it quickly been almost too soggy to eat. They use burrata instead of mozzarella, so the cheese doesn't keep its form as well. I'd probably prefer the traditional mozzarella here. The Marsala unfortunately was the biggest let down. No flavor whatsoever on both the chicken and the pasta. That one needs a lot of work. I do think a lot of this can we worked out with time and is likely just growing pains. Would love to see this become somewhere worth a regular visit. I'll try again in a month or two and update as needed.

Christy B.

Yelp
Love the back bar! Cozy and inviting. Great drinks and appetizer. We did not have dinner here but everything looks amazing. We will be back!

Ruth W.

Yelp
This place is great!! We loved everything! House salad, built our own pizza, wine and beer! Nice that they have a house wine that is delicious!! Pizza was exceptionally good, crust was perfect! Can't wait to go back!!

Noah D.

Yelp
I ordered delivery for the first time. It was all very good. The caprese was delicious, just the right amount of lemon zest. The spaghetti Bolognese was flavorful and a good size portion. The garlic knots were awesome, the price point was right there as well. I would definitely get it again! Nice work.

Sherry D.

Yelp
Ordered a pizza last night. It was burned on the bottom. hard as a rock, and cold. I was so disappointed.
