All the Dallas Restaurant Openings, July 2025 | Eater Dallas

"There’s new blood in Dallas’s Tex-Mex scene, in the form of a Lemmon Avenue spot that has been home to an El Fenix , Casa Rosa, and Eddie’s Cocina and Cantina throughout the years. Ernie Quilantan, who was a partner in Eddie’s Cocina, has taken over the lease after an amicable parting with his business partner, the eponymous Eddie Cervantes, CultureMap Dallas reports . The rebranding,” as Quilantan calls it, features a straightforward menu, with Cowboy Queso, a variety of tacos, fajitas, and Tex-Mex platters. There are also sandwiches and burritos, including a Mexican cheesesteak and a smashed burguesa." - Courtney E. Smith

Our group of friends has had a standing Friday happy hour and dinner tradition for years. After Mario’s closed and with the price increases at Ojeda’s, we found ourselves searching for a new spot that could offer the right mix of good food, good drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. After trying out several places, we’re happy to say that Texano Cocina is exactly what we were looking for — and has quickly become our new Friday night go-to! From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel welcome. The service is consistently attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell they take pride in making sure every guest is well taken care of. The drinks come out quickly, the happy hour specials are great, and the servers are always friendly and personable. The food is where Texano Cocina really shines. Every dish we’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and served hot to the table. The portions are generous, and the quality easily rivals (if not surpasses) some of the bigger-name spots in town. Whether it’s appetizers to share during happy hour, hearty entrées, or something lighter, there’s something for everyone on the menu — and it’s all been outstanding. The atmosphere is another highlight. It has just the right balance between lively and comfortable, making it a perfect setting to catch up with friends, enjoy great food, and ease into the weekend. The prices are also very reasonable, especially given the quality and portion sizes, which makes coming back week after week a no-brainer. In short, Texano Cocina checked every box for us — great service, amazing food, fair prices, and a fun atmosphere. We’ve officially found our new Friday night tradition spot, and I can’t recommend it enough to anyone looking for a place to relax, eat well, and feel welcomed.

I stopped in for lunch at Texano Cosina today, and I’m sure glad I did. The restaurant is conveniently located in a strip mall just a few minutes from Love Field Airport. Parking was a breeze—even with my full-size SUV. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly at the hostess stand and quickly taken to a comfortable table. The décor was tasteful and thoughtfully done, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Shortly after being seated, a busser brought out chips and salsa. The chips were thin, crisp, and perfectly salted. The salsa was exceptional—I absolutely fell in love with it. The balance of tomato, herbs, citrus, and salt was divine. My server, Daniella, greeted me promptly and was friendly and attentive. She took the time to learn my name, offered great recommendations, and consistently checked in to make sure I had everything I needed without ever being intrusive. I started with a side of Rajas con Crema as an appetizer. If you’re unfamiliar with this dish, it’s pure joy—strips of poblano peppers, onion, corn, and crema, perfectly seasoned. It comes with a choice of flour or corn tortillas; I chose flour. When I opened the tortilla basket, the first thing I noticed was the smell of butter from the absolutely outstanding flour tortillas. The rajas were delicious wrapped in a tortilla, and I also used them later to top my fajita tacos. For my main dish, I ordered the lunch fajitas and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion size. I substituted cheese for sour cream, as I’m not a big sour cream fan, and upgraded the beans to charro beans (note: there’s a $2 upcharge). The guacamole was very good, and the pico de gallo had a bit more heat than I’m used to, but it was still enjoyable. The meat was well-seasoned and tender—while it wasn’t the best fajita meat I’ve ever had, it was definitely good enough that I would order it again. My only minor complaint was the wait time for the food. While it was clear everything was made fresh, I was hoping for a quicker turnaround during a lunch visit. Overall, if you’re in this part of Dallas, Texano Cosina is absolutely worth checking out. The prices are very reasonable, the food is above average, and the service—especially from Daniella—was spectacular.

Newly branded place, super service and the food is very good. Happy hour prices are stupid cheap. These were 5 bucks. Buger and fries happy hour $11, cheaper that Whataburger. Happy to get a good place here. Sorry, drink was strong, can't spell.

My friend and I used to go to Mario’s all the time because it was close and the margaritas were strong, even though the food had gone downhill over the years, it was still our neighborhood spot. When it suddenly closed we were pretty disappointed. We decided to try Texano Cocina today with low expectations… and we were blown away! The drinks were strong and delicious, the salsa was amazing, and the fajitas were seasoned to perfection. Everything came out hot and fast, and the service was excellent. We even recognized a few familiar faces! One of our servers and bartender Alex both came from Mario’s, and they’ve really stepped it up here. This place just became our new go-to for friend nights. Highly recommend giving it a try!

The food I say in my opinion could've been better. The seasoning wasn't their on the skillet fajitas but the drinks helped 😆 Wouldnt mind stopping by again! I absolutely love this place! It’s the most curated Tex Mex I can find around Dallas. Will always be a good go to spot for brunch, lunch or dinner! Rick and Abel were so accommodating. Cowboy queso will always be a go to, the vibe, the staff, the drinks are well poured as well! I’ve known Rick for years and this spot is the best one yet! Don’t miss out, find out!

This place is one of our go to spots since it is right by our home, and we come here all the time. The bar is perfect for watching football and the dining area has the ideal vibe for a date night or a fun evening out with friends. The drinks are always great, the food is consistently amazing, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new favorite spot.

Google
The staff, the food, the aesthetic - everything is so good here. I made a small comment on how liked my queso spicier, and they gave me extra jalapenos on the side. The host and server were kind enough to ask for my name, and they addressed me personally throughout my entire lunch. I'll definitely be back, bringing my friends for brunch next time!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch at Texano Cosina and I'm really glad I did. It's conveniently located in a strip mall just a few minutes from Love Field Airport, and parking was easy--even with a full-size SUV. I was greeted warmly at the hostess stand and seated right away. The décor was tasteful and comfortable. Chips and salsa arrived almost immediately--the chips were thin, crisp, and perfectly salted, and the salsa was outstanding with a great balance of tomato, herbs, citrus, and salt. My server, Daniela, was fantastic. She was friendly, took the time to learn my name, offered great recommendations, and checked on me throughout the meal to make sure I never needed anything. I started with Rajas con Crema, which was absolutely delicious--poblano peppers, onion, corn, and crema, perfectly seasoned. I chose the flour tortillas, and they were exceptional--warm, buttery, and easily some of the best I've had. I even used the rajas to top my fajita tacos later. For my main dish, I ordered the lunch fajitas and was surprised by how generous the portion was. I swapped cheese for sour cream and upgraded to charro beans (there's a $2 upcharge). The guacamole was very good, the pico de gallo had a bit more heat than I'm used to but was still enjoyable, and the meat was tender and well-seasoned. While not the best fajitas I've ever had, they were solid and something I'd definitely order again. The only downside was the wait time for the food--it took a bit longer than expected for lunch, though it was clearly made fresh. Overall, Texano Cosina is absolutely worth checking out if you're in this part of Dallas. Prices are reasonable, the food is above average, and the service--especially from Daniela--was excellent.

Yelp
A very pleasant experience. Our waitress was amazing! Very attentive and made sure we were always good to go. The owner happened to be there as well and came over to our table to say hello! The chips and salsa (which is what I think about before going out for Tex-Mex) were great. The fajitas were flavorful and the single portion was a good amount of chicken - and the restaurant itself was beautiful inside. You could tell that the owner(s) put a lot of work into the decor and overall feel of the restaurant. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Such an amazing lunch experience :)

Yelp
Fresh out of the gym and running on fumes, I needed two things: a solid meal and a place to watch my Cowboys. Saw the high reviews and thought, "Alright, let's see what the hype's about." Walked in and the host seated me quicker than a two-minute drill. I grabbed a bar seat--seven TVs glowing blue and silver, the Cowboys on every screen. There's something special about watching America's Team in Texas... the cheers hit louder, the energy feels like home, and you can't help but get swept up in it. I went with the 3-item combo: chicken enchiladas with green sauce, Spanish rice, and charros beans. And listen... I'm almost certain somebody's abuela is in the back putting her whole heart into those recipes. That plate tasted like tradition--warm, comforting, and exactly what a hungry soul needs after a workout. Absolutely hit the spot. Might have to do an extra set tomorrow to make up for it. The whole place was spotless and well-organized, the kind of clean that tells you people here actually care. The bar staff greeted me the second I sat down, joked with customers, and had food out faster than I expected. Genuine kindness, not the scripted stuff. This isn't just a "stop in and eat" type of place-- it's a spot where good food, good people, and good vibes show up at the same time. One of those restaurants that reminds you why dining out can still feel personal. I'll definitely be back. And next time, I'm coming hungrier.

Yelp
We went here when it was Casa Rosa but we did not realize it was the same building until we arrived. The interior has been re-done so it is a bit more modern and cleaner. But the Mexican decorations are largely missing in the main dining area. We did not sit in the bar area since we had the kid with us but as I passed by I noticed that it looked very attractive and a place I would want to sit and sip margaritas. We went for an early dinner after picking the kid up from school, so we were definitely doing the Florida dinner time model (really early). As a consequence, the restaurant was nearly empty. By the time we ordered our food, we were the only ones there. It was happy hour so I got a happy hour margarita. It was ok but not very strong. I guess for $5 what can you expect. I had another. The wife had a glass of happy hour wine, I think it was $5 or $6. There is a happy hour menu so I ordered the jalapeño torpedoes and they were the best I ever had. I forget the price but you get four but I could have eaten ten. They were absolutely delicious. Lightly fried, they were small but packed incredible flavor from the chicken filling. I would order them from the regular menu next time. The wife got happy hour guac and liked it. For entrees, she had the chili Rellano (grilled) and liked it a lot. The lime white rice was delicious. The charro beans were the best both of us ever had. For my entree, I ordered the chicken fajita and it was delicious. The chicken was tender and juicy, lots of flavor. It came with a scoop of guar, sour cream, and pico. I needed more pico though. Oddly, there was a not a lime wedge to squeeze on the chicken which is pretty standard. I loved the charro beans too. For dessert, we ordered churros and they were really good. I bit different from Mesero's, these had a chocolate dipping sauce. The churros dough was flavorful and was not greasy at all. Our server Martin was great. Very friendly, very helpful with tips about the menu, and very accommodating to our every wish. The main criticism I have is that food took forever to come out. We were alone in the restaurant and from order to delivery it had to be a good 25 minutes. I was wondering, if it took that long for one table, what happens when they get busy? Overall, it was a great meal and a great experience. The chef is definitely talented. Next time, and there will be next time, I will get a regular margarita, not off the happy hour menu. I will get torpedoes off the regular menu.

Yelp
This place is pretty good. Reasonable prices, good service, and hasn't been crowded when I've been. This trip we had mixed fajitas and chicken enchiladas. Both were good. This isn't the best place around, but it is better priced than some of the others. Not bad for the price.

Yelp
Finally. A place in this spot with delicious food, drinks, a truly great happy hour and good tunes. It is also so refreshing to have excellent service for a change. The staff is welcoming and works as a team. We've been working our way around the menu and have loved most everything. Beef and chicken fajitas . Chicken enchiladas . Flauta dinner. Tortilla soup . Just when we thought the refried pinto beans were amazing, we had the black beans which are even better . There are also two rice options . Plus $5 flavored margs during happy hour that aren't stingy on the pour . I obviously recommend.

Yelp
Food was ok, service was very slow. Took almost two hours for just a brunch. Since it was new got the sampler to try a few different things. The only two good things on the plate were the quesadillas and the jalepenos.

Lara B.

Yelp
Cute little place. Tasty Tex Mex Our bartender was very attentive and friendly. It used to be Casa Rosa which we loved but they've expanded the bar area and added some TVs so it's perfect for a quick bite and a snack watching sports The dining room is inviting but that's not OUR style. Ample parking The jalapeño popper appetizers are delicious My favorite is the bacon wrapped and grilled version. The steak fajitas were sizzling and well marinated. Love the salsa and the margaritas I will definitely come back

Yelp
The Chile Rellenos was superb along with all of the sides. Everything was top shelf including the wait staff. The atmosphere reminds me of a fantastic Cantina.

Yelp
Warm atmosphere and lovely people make the Amazon food taste even better!! A little birdie said there may be another location opening up on lower Greenville! Can't wait for that!

Yelp
I hve been going here once a week. I have several items and all are good. The beef fajitas were tender and grilled chili releno is fantastic. I went there this past Sunday and literly fell for the place (I am handica) I usually go in a wheelchair. Sunday I walked in with a cane. On the way out my leg gave out and I fell taking out Christma decorations. I will be back on Wednesday, I hope they will let me back in. The food is good and serviice is great.

Yelp
We decided to give Texano a try--formerly known as Eddie's--and honestly, not much has changed besides the name. The decor, most of the menu, even some of the staff seem mostly the same. I had only been to this Eddie's location a couple of times in the past (more familiar with the Greenville spot), but thought we'd check it out again. Once again, the place was nearly empty, which should've been a clue. Our server was kind and attentive, which we appreciated, but the food took a little longer than expected considering there were maybe two or three other tables. The real issue came when the bill arrived. My tacos al carbon were listed at $18 on the menu--but showed up as $20 on the check. Definitely not worth the money. Same thing happened with a friend's meal--an unexplained $2 markup. We didn't order any upgrades or extras. It feels a little sketchy, and not something you expect (or appreciate) when you're already paying higher-end Tex-Mex prices in a nearly empty restaurant. The margaritas weren't strong enough for us to not notice that. It just wasn't a great experience overall, and with so many fantastic options nearby, we won't be back. One and done. Sorry not sorry. This place will close soon.

Ja C.

Yelp
Ambiance? Excellent! Service? Impeccable! Food? Incredibly tasty and fresh! Drinks? Well yum! Great bar area too Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Great new menu! I really enjoyed the fajitas, and the margarita pie was amazing! Our server, Benny, was excellent.

Just In Case M.

Yelp
The service was incredible. The food was great and most of all the atmosphere was unexpectedly one the best I've ever been in. It made our Sunday one of the best ones yet. Live music and a great singer that takes requests. Overall, a great experience!

Yelp
Wow! The food is great! Happy hour until 6! Lunch until 4. The new decor is wonderful and very tasteful. The bar is so big and lots of TV's! And the brunch looks phenomenal we will definitely be back!

JoAnn S.

Yelp
I think this is a rather new restaurant on Lemon just before Inwood. Went there last night and had a great experience. Good food, great service!! Try it!!!!

Linda L.

Yelp
Service, service, service. Kudos to Kate, our bartender. The swirl margaritas are the best. I am a nacho gal and they were excellent. Will return again.

Ray B.

Yelp
Food and Service were terrific. Ordered the Salmon Tacos which were amazing. The sauce on the taco was fantastic. The Fajita Chicken enchilada's were very good as well. Both taco's were wrapped in delicious tortilla's. The rice and refried bean portions were generous. Chips and salsa were fresh and delicious. Server was very attentive and we lacked for nothing. Prices are a little high for Mexican food but then everything is high. Enjoyed it very much.

Kevin O.

Yelp
This place is one of our go to spots. It's right by our home, and we come here all the time. The bar is the perfect for watching football and the dining area has ideal vibe for a date night or a fun evening out with friends. The drinks are great, the food is consistently amazing, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Highly recommend anyone looking for a new favorite spot.

Yelp
Chips and salsa were excellent.... It all went down hill from there. Service was sub par. Going to chalk it up as someone's first day on the job. Will not visit again.

Matthew H.

Yelp
I love this place. The food and drinks are much better than several popular Tex Mex places on the same street for a fair price. The employees are kind and want you to be there. They have a fun bar and great happy hour as well as lunch menu. Looking forward to many visits there!

Nikki G.

Yelp
The food was ok nothing to brag about. The drinks were ok have to add a shot to margarita for it to be good. Service was good. Nothing happy about the hour. A lot of space to have parties for big groups.

Dallas G.

Yelp
First time here and already obsessed. The food was excellent. I had the bronco brisket tacos and my partner had chicken enchiladas. Both were great. Loved that you could see the kitchen and everything being made fresh. Loved the stuffed jalapenos variety. Free chips and salsa at the table, always a good time. Hit all the marks of great tex-mex but you can tell they are going for an elevated style. Our server was super friendly and helpful, and everything came out fast and hot. The place has a great vibe too. It was quiet but I think they are just opening fairly recently. Not too loud, really clean, and just a nice atmosphere overall. We thought it was just a low-key standard Tex-Mex spot at first, but this was fantastic. I'll be bringing anyone that visits from out of town that wants to know 'real Tex-Mex'.

Benson H.

Yelp
What a nice find! Great service, great drinks, great happy hour options (for both food and drinks). Appreciated the kids menu, and everyone liked their food. Big portions too. Nice airy, big space on one side, cool-looking, darker bar toward the front.

Susan K.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, great friendly service, and delicious well prepared food. Highly recommend. Easy to park also.

Greg M.

Yelp
Highly recommend as the food is consistently good! We have been to Texano several times after the recent change. We've enjoyed the fajitas more than once as well as some of the entrees on a different visit. All good.

Catherine H.

Yelp
Listen, growing up in Texas I've been to my fair share of TexMex places. But this place really is better than most out there. Happy Hour menu, prices, margs, portion size, service, freshness, flavors, even the scoop of ice cream for the kids was like, just better! I would definitely recommend. They're new, and I really hope they make it so we can make it our regular place.

Lara P.

Yelp
Delicious food! Excellent service! Lots of tvs to watch sports! A great new restaurant to try. I can't wait to come back for brunch.

Ethan P.

Yelp
Food was amazing and service was great out waiter Tony gave us lots of great suggestions and was willing to help us change the meal to make it to our liking. The brunch looks amazing and we will defiantly be coming back to try it.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Had an issue with my bill, simply let our wonderful server know and it was immediately resolved by the awesome staff.
