As a guy that travels a lot and visits breweries I had to stop by for a flight since it wasn't far from my hotel. Worth it!! All the brews were solid and the staff was really friendly. I was a huge fan of the caucassian blonde stout I think it was. Worth a visit! Nice patio area kid and pet friendly as well!

Google
Best brewery in Dallas and a true family business. The Tap Room has an excellent selection and a friendly group of bartenders that go above and beyond to serve customers. Definitely will be visiting again soon.

Gabriela Cadena

Google
Great variety, locale and taste. Need to return to try everything else and for their events like trivia and beer pairing dinners. I had the cotton candy beer that's sold at the State Fair.

Michael Doherty

Google
I’d had one of the flagship FireAnt Funeral many times so had to get out to the brewery. The bartender was great and helpful on my first visit, but I just wasn’t blown away by the beer. Everything I had was solid, but nothing stood out as remarkable. I also would’ve liked a little more variety on tap. Ultimately I’m not going to stop buying their beer and I will give a second visit, but hoping to see more variety next time

Google
Short: Yes, you should check it out! Longer: Very spacious area, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their different beers. We enjoyed ourselves. There was live music playing here as well, so 10/10 for ambiance!

Google
New favorite thing to do after a Wednesday climb since hump day beers are $3!!!! (especially liked the cerveza and saison that tastes like a shandy!) Will be hopefully becoming a regular 🍻 love the patio ambience

Google
Super chill environment to meet friends to have a beer. Friday night was not busy at all, food is served by an outside vendor- no heathy options. The beer as fresh and cold - the butterfly bush are the biggest I have ever seen. Ever. Plenty of seating. There were families, singles, couples and dogs present to enjoy the atmosphere, beer and space. Corn hull also offered.

Google
The location and outdoor aspect of Texas Ale project is great. The staff is also very friendly. However, I wasn't a big fan of the beer selection. It very well could have been the wrong time of year for me personally to come. There were no pils, hefs, or stouts on tap. Mostly IPAs, their signature amber ale, a golden ale, and seltzers. As there is Ale in its name, I understand that there would be a lot of ales in their repertoire. It's been a few years since I've last been and there appears to be more variety on their website, so I chalk it up as bad timing for my visit. I also didn't ask if they had the other options in cans available, so not asking was on me. It was still a lovely couple of hours I spent there with friends, having a couple of beers at a brewery.

Yelp
We had a fun afternoon as a family here. The hubby and I enjoyed the beer and the kids enjoyed the cornhole and ladder game. They had the game going too so it was the best of both worlds. While we spend most of our time outside, they have a small space indoors too. They have all the typical games so you can enjoy yourself a while. We didn't bring in food but you can and I think they are adding a food truck which will be nice. The beer master was super friendly and helpful

Skyy S.

Yelp
This may be one of the smaller breweries but they have some good staple beers. My favorite is the Texan blood orange. We walked in and the brew master let us know everything we would like based on our likes. She was very helpful and let us sample ones we were interested in. Cute place with the normal cornhole outside. If you don't like being outside, this brewery is not for you!

David B.

Yelp
First trip to TAP brewery, but not my first TAP beer. Took the fam for an after-Thanksgiving outing, and this place did not disappoint. Ordered a flight of some fantastic libations, pulled out some board games, and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. While not a large indoor taproom, there was plenty of seating avails in the brewery and outdoors. I'm not sure how long the taproom has been open, but it sure looked nice and shiny new to me. And now the beers. Let's start with the BBA dubbel. Nice flavor and true to the style. But my favorite was the 100 million Angels Singing DIPA. Hazy and nice backend flavor. And you can't go wrong with their Texas Blood IPA--juicy to the last drop. I'll be sure to visit again.

Swazworth P.

Yelp
Great place to hang out, really good beer. Hung out for a couple of hours on a slow day. Learned so much about the Texas craft brewery scene. Highly recommend. Off your in the Dallas area.

David D.

Yelp
I really enjoyed their Double IPA and IPA (10 Million Angels Singing and 50 Ft Jackrabbit, respectively). Their Texas Blood, in addition to being seasonal, was also delicious. I also tried a developmental session beer series (a four-beer four-ounce flight) and voted my feedback on which I liked best: they are doing interesting creative work. Doesn't hurt that I was attending an alumni event and that a fellow alumni member is a business owner there. :)

Loren B.

Yelp
The Texas Ale Project is a newish microbrewery in the Design District with a cool indoor atmosphere and decent beer menu. The TAP has engineered such memorably named brews as "Fire Ant Funeral" (in my top ten list all time best beer names), 50 Ft Jackrabbit, and Texas Blood. It was cold enough outside when we visited that we were unable to enjoy the garden seating. But, the inside of the bar area is clean and modern with plenty of space for various sized groups. A large metal, backlit sign dominates the back wall. Games are available for customer use. We played a sort of two-person version of Cards Against Humanity and laughed a lot. To the right of the main entrance is a large open room with a table where some peeps were playing beer pong. While the variety of spaces was nice, the parking lot runs in between the garden and the brewery building which created an uncozy distance. As we approached, a small amount of seating available by the door created a crowd of people who had to part so we could enter, odd and a little inhospitable since there was ample space inside. We attended for the launch of the Fist Full of Dollar Mexican Stout. A Dallas foot race routed down Riverfront Blvd made it difficult to park The beers we tried were solid but not remarkable. I was hoping for a stronger chocolate flavor and less hops. The IBU's seemed higher in general on the beer selections than my personal preference. She tried the Cotton Candy Pils and enjoyed it, but didn't love it. Again, we hoped for more flavor. We didn't get a strong welcoming vibe off the bartender. Might've been a long day, which we all have. It seems that the landscape of tap rooms has matured to the point that just "having one" isn't cool enough. After having tried a dozen or so, I'm finding that certain ones stand out. TAP has a cool room and set of dining spaces that could use a bit of homeyness added. If you like subtlety in your beer flavor and don't mind bitterness, you'll be a fan.

Olgert B.

Yelp
Great selection of beers including Lagers, IPAs, and hard ciders. There's a nice atmosphere too with live music and food (check their events). The outside area is beautiful and pet friendly.

Suzanne P.

Yelp
First time here, today 2/29/20. Parking is non-existent. Have to park on the street and there aren't many spaces available. Asked to try a couple of their beers before deciding and after 2-3 samples was told we can order a flight...hmmm.... Felt like a suggestion that she didn't want to give us anymore samples. Actually watched her as the next people came in and she poured a samples then dumped 1/2 of it before giving it to the customer. WTH?? The beers were ok. Had the Thai Hazy IPA (nothing Thai or hazy about it) and the barrel aged stout. Both were good. About $6-8 a pour of 10-16 oz pour (in a dirty glass). Super small place (seating for 28 inside), but love the decor. Nothing makes up for crappy service though. Had one beer and left. Know your customer or you will lose them...

Maura W.

Yelp
I had no idea this place existed until we looked for a new place to try with a patio! It is shockingly hard to find breweries with patios in Dallas, but this didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed the patio area, and all the shade from the trees. Only downside was you have to walk a bit to go back inside to get refills. No wait service out on the patio. I tried the hard seltzer and it was great. My fiancé loves the fire ant funeral beer they have to offer. Tip:bring bug repellent! We were getting bit up by the landscaping.

Sereena J.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I popped in one night because we had heard such good things about the beer here! We came on a Friday night around 8ish and there were only ten or fifteen people there. We parked along the street behind the brewery and walked up. My boyfriend ordered the Fire Ant Funeral and I ordered a glass of Down the Hatch, a pilsner infused with hatch chilies. Definitely has a kick, but it was sooooo good. The bartenders were both so friendly and let us try some of the beers before choosing our favorite. They also had games by all the merchandise! When it's nice and warm outside, their patio would be a great place to spend the weekend.

Helen W.

Yelp
Cool, chill spot to hang out with indoor and outdoor seating. They have some games like corn hole. Restrooms are really clean, but the beers here are nothing special, unfortunately. Tried their raspberry sparkling cider and it just tasted like a pilsner... No hint of raspberry at all. Also tried the porter and meh. They DO have food here now!! The vendor told me it only happened recently. The menu looks good!

Rubi R.

Yelp
They have decent beers and it was very spacious but idk it wasnt my vibe. Normally I love going to breweries but this place just wasn't doing it for me. It seemed way too chill, no live music, no one had their dogs, just kinda fell short for me. It was a Saturday afternoon so I'd figure they'd be somewhat busy. But I don't think I'd come here again.

Martin K.

Yelp
Cool tap room with a nice variety of beers, half of which you cant het anywhere else. Love the Texas Blood, a delicious IPA with blood orange. Very drinkable, which rich blood orange flavor and a nice hop finish. I hope they add that one to their permanent ones.

Angela R.

Yelp
GREAT beers, Nice location, Chill atmosphere, Awesome events and activities on site. Everything in want from a local brewery. I am a sucker for their seasonal Texas Blood (Orange) at the moment. I highly recommend checking this place out when you get a chance. Drink local!

Chelsea O.

Yelp
The location and brewery itself is really cool. The service and offerings are a little iffy. Don't recommend the Tap Water. Stick with the beer.

Randall H.

Yelp
Good lord THANK YOU Texas Ale Project. Consistently delivering a beautiful beverage regardless of whether you're a fan of basic or complex. Personally, I love IPA's, nothing crazy over the top with unique flavors just classic, delicious, and crisp. 100 Million Angels Singing and 50 ft. Jack Rabbit are my go tos but my lady friend had one of their small batch hazies and unfortunately for you, they won't have the same thing again for a while. Also, they've got a solid korean resident food truck delivering calamari, loaded fries, crab nachos and more that are all perfect to pair with TAPs quality brews. They've got outdoor seating, indoor ping pong, host events, and are kid and dog friendly plus parking is not a major issue since you're in a less busy area of the design district. Check this place out, support your local brewers, and encourage them to distribute out of state because I know my fellow New Englanders would love their product. THANK YOU

Connor U.

Yelp
Texas Ale Project is one of my favorite breweries to bring people when we are around the Design District area. With an expansive outdoor patio and a bright inside seating area housed inside its unique building, this is the perfect place to unwind and drink beer when the weather is nice out. The beer is great, and I recommend taking the tour if you have some extra time. Some brewery tours can get rather monotonous, but the owner is fantastic & told us all sorts of stories behind the names of the beers.

Maggie T.

Yelp
Really friendly and informative bartenders. Love the names of the beers!! It was hopping this afternoon. I think there was a wedding reception. Fun and casual atmosphere. A nice refresher after Lula B's.

Evan C.

Yelp
Great place with a decent selection of beers for a good value. Really nice atmosphere outside, and best of all, it never really gets too crowded. Another plus is you get a free bag of chips with your drink. Only complaint is there is very little parking. You have to trust your luck to find a spot on the street.

Caitlyn M.

Yelp
Texas Ale Project has some solid beers (their IPA and double IPA stick out to me), but I didn't really love the crowd there. The space is great, beer pong tables, games, space to drink outside, next to the production, and a normal indoor space. The vibe I got was just a little more of a bro-y, wanting to get wasted before a game in downtown vibe. So I still generally recommend TAP, just know what vibe you might experience when you plan on going.

Christina D.

Yelp
It's always interesting to see how each brewery sets up their site and what their process is. While generally they follow the same formula, I always enjoy hearing the small history behind how the brewery got started and the passion in their voice. We passed by this place a couple of times while we were in town and wanted to kill some time before our next event, so we decided to stop by and take a gander. All of their beers that they offer were on tap and they are happy to give you a taste if you're unsure of what you would like. They do brewery tours at 2pm and 3pm every Saturday and beers are $5 a cup. I've also seen a couple of flights as well if you just can't decide on one. Right around 2pm, they place started filling up pretty fast with people coming in to try the beer or just meet up with some friends to play cornhole. They have a great outdoor area with a couple of trees here and there, so I can imagine if the weather is just beautiful outside that everyone will be sitting out there enjoying a beer. The brewery is roughly 4 years old and they are already distributing to Whole Foods, Central Market, and Kroger, so if you're looking for them, you may be able to find them there. They definitely have some interesting combinations, so if you're into craft brews and looking for a spot to hang out... this place will certainly work for you!

Alida R.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to Texas Ale Project, where I tried a pint of the delicious and surprisingly smooth seasonal white stout (a White Russian Imperial Stout, with cute Big Lebowski branding). My friends like their beers, as well. Flights are available, too. Much of the seating area is outdoors, or indoors in a space that's open to the air, so I recommend going when the weather is nice or at a time that it's not likely to be too crowded. They don't appear to have their own parking lot. We found street parking in front of a for-lease building down the street; once that building has a new business in it, I'm not sure how easy parking would be. Use caution, cause one of the businesses nearby had nasty warning signs scaring brewery patrons away from parking there.

Andrew A.

Yelp
Don't listen to the 4 corner groupies, the beer at texas ale project is top notch for the dfw selection and can compete neck and neck with any brewery in the area, you may not agree with their " varietals" but the flavors are SUPER! with that being said we all know alot of the times craft beer can be personal opinion and personal taste. .. subjective is you Will. My wife and I were a little turned off by the hoppy ipa ish wheat beer, we weren't up for an ipa so we turned to the wheat but it was hoppy. But even so the beer is great. Tours & staff: tours on saturdays...Never been for the tour, only for the taproom which is currently open till 9pm, and each time there is another bartender always smiling and friendly no problems we have even chatted randomly with one of the super friendly owners multiple times we have been in...but we did notice a flyer on the door that said "private event" we walked in and asked about it and they said it was already over... ooookkk???? (5 hours ago? Take down the sign) This last visit we got our beer In a plastic cup! :-( that killed my "craft beer" mood, just sayin. Taproom & patio: awesome outdoor seating with patio great for a summer day, have games such as cornhole. The inside taproom is the showpiece, gravity fed taps are pretty awesome. not sure if its dog friendly but three patio must be. Very clean facility, inside and out Parking: on the street, Never had trouble before. Not the safest area after dark. All in all the place is a must see of the dfw breweries, minutes from main street, probably not walking distance though.

Taylor S.

Yelp
Great variety of beers, good atmosphere with food truck, ping pong tables and cornhole, needs more seating since it can definitely accommodate more, but overall great experience - stop by if you are in the area

Darren W.

Yelp
Good little spot. People are friendly enough and they keep 8 typical beers (pilsners, stouts, IPAs) in rotational as well as two seasonal beers due to their reach. Very clean but the place is small. staff were incredibly friendly and offered to show us around. Beers range $5-$7.

Jim C.

Yelp
Very nice beers and the food truck was good too! I had the range of IPAs and tasted the porter and pils... all were spot-on. The Korean Chicken on a stick was soooo good. Even with lots of choices around in this area, I'll be back!

Kam P.

Yelp
The Million Angels singing was so delicious. Bartenders are super friendly and have a wealth of knowledge about the different beers and types. All their recommendations were spot on. There's a cute garden with picnic tables. Bathrooms were spotless. Street parking. We were able to find a spot easily. There are some food options, unique mix of bar munchies. We attended a comedy show there but would go back for just the beer. Laid back atmosphere.

Melissa F.

Yelp
Went to a rehearsal dinner last night at this spot and it was really nice. Perfect place for a small party! The staff was very attentive and friendly. The beer was good and the selection we had was decent. It definitely had its own kind of charm.... We got to try a local county fair winning beer which was not my favorite but I'm glad I got to say I tried it. They allowed us to keep the glasses after we drank the beers which was a nice souvenir to take home... The only big drawback I saw was the parking. Get there early or you'll have to deal with parking far away.

E J.

Yelp
Pretty decent but still prefer Community Brewing right around the corner. TAP is pretty new and only had 5 brews on tap. The Amber was well balanced but had more hops for the style than normal. Would call it a hoppy Amber but I'm sure that name is used already by a brewery. Their IPA is quite hoppy with a bitter floral bite. Not as well balanced as the Amber as it needs more malt backbone. Very clean and new brewery/taproom with a nice outdoor patio featuring cornhole and table tennis.

Carolyn S.

Yelp
I'm not a beer drinker but the group I was with gave the beer taste review an "Eh, it's alright". What I love about this place is that it is new and you can really tell the employees/owners love their product and have put a lot of work into it. I hope they make it, go support a new business!

Courtney C.

Yelp
Had a work event here and I was really impressed. While I was initially disappointed there was no wine, their amount of options was satisfying enough for my guests and that's all I wanted. Their employees were attentive and friendly considering we had 130ish people in attendance. I don't recall ever seeing any long lines either. I loved the outdoor area where games could be played and we were able to get a food truck. Overall the party was a success and if I was ever in the area again I would come back!!

Ammie M.

Yelp
Had a blast here on a brewery tour/work meeting. Love the new Tap Water hard seltzer they've come out with!

Stephen H.

Yelp
Really great beer. Enjoyed our time there. Staff was very well versed in the types of beer and gave great recommendations. We rented out the place, so it was really cool having it all to our selves

Eric C.

Yelp
The location is good. Ambience, decor, layout, games and overall setup is exceptional. Unfortunately they only have one beer that I feel is up to Dallas craft standards and that is their double IPA (100 Million Singing Angels). The Fire Ant is decent as well, but not a fan of their other brews.

Steve S.

Yelp
While visiting Dallas on business, I stopped into Texas Ale Project for a couple of beers. It was a Thursday night and my coworker and I were 2 of 5 people there. A couple of guys were tending bar and were happy to talk beer and give a history about the brewery. Very friendly staff indeed. The building itself is really well built. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design. It's clean and organized in the brewing area. It looked like they may have had an outdoor area but I went after dark and didn't really explore outside. The taproom has a great atmosphere. The keg fridge apparently sits above the taproom which helps to gravity feed the beer to the taps. Again, this place was really well thought out. It's clean and welcoming at the bar. The most important part is the beer. I tried 2 of them a double IPA and an IPA. Both were delicious. My favorite was the 100 Million Angels Singing double IPA. Crisp, hoppy, fresh, and just the right amount of bite. I liked it so much I bought the pint glass. I also purchased a shirt. Unfortunately, when I returned home I had a problem with one of the hems on the shirt after washing it. I live in Nashville, so going back for a return wasn't an option. I contacted the brewery and they took great care of me. I couldn't be happier with the service they provided. I'm sold! I'll be stopping in whenever I return. Great atmosphere, awesome beer, and excellent customer service. What more could you ask for?

Alex T.

Yelp
New brewery off Riverfront in the Design District. Typical brewery set up; the warehouse opens up to a patio area with a few picnic tables and a food truck (no kitchen at TAP). Nothing we haven't seen before. The taproom, however, is very clean and chic looking. I liked how there were games at the center of every table inside (yes, jenga makes an appearance). Their brews are good (was already a fan of the Naked Truth after trying it at Brain Dead Brewery). Parking was a little inconvenient from the mucky weather, but was close by. Really what struck me was how few people were around. Usually breweries are hopping on the weekends, but there were only a handful of goups hanging out. I think TAP hurt themselves by waiting so long to open after moving on site. Folks probably got used to passing by and them still not being open. But it'll grow. Dallas is turning into a brewpub hotbed.

McKenna S.

Yelp
This is a nice huge clean brewery. There was a food truck available for snacks. I got a flight for $9 and liked the beers. The porter was my favorite. Staff was fine. It was a nice day so there were tons of young people around playing cornhole, table tennis, and lots of fun loving youngsters around having a great time. I'd go back for sure.

Lex L.

Yelp
I will just start by saying I am a fairly large beer snob. I have home-brewed since before it was cool, and I don't have a hipster bone in my body. After that disclaimer being said, these guys make some solid Brews. The entire crew is down-to-earth and easy to talk to and very informative. Go here

Chris W.

Yelp
Anytime you can have a beer with an owner and listen to the struggles they have gone through makes drinking their beer even better. Love the vide here. Pets welcome, laid back good time!!! Best of luck to Texas Ale Project!

Vladimir K.

Yelp
Wanted to find some local breweries on my trip to Dallas. Found this place and it's got awesome beer and a good atmosphere. What more can you ask for?

Casey G.

Yelp
Not too impressed. It's a new joint in the micro brew industry looks like they are focusing more on the Tap room experience. Very modern style place with drift wood type wall panels. They have table tennis and all the bar games just not a big following, look kinda sad and dead. Wasn't too impressed with the beer didn't have any character it was just basic. Quote from the bartender this is our red this is our IPA and this is our wheat Ale . Just felt blah maybe if the staff was friendly and the beer was more exciting I would have it a better rating. Oh I had to shake the beer to get foam for the photo very sad.

Emma B.

Yelp
Nice taproom and outdoor space. Had 5 beers on tap the night we went. Bartender was very friendly and talkative to us. Pay by the pint.

Thomas M.

Yelp
Nice place, nice people and a very nice new venue. Only complaint would be how expensive the beers are. This for me was a huge turn off and why i wont be a regular at this place. When i go to a brewery, i expect them to treat me to some cheap beers. This is a dallas wide problem (looking at you community) and having traveled extensively to breweries in other states, its just awful to pay 5 dollars for a draft pale ale at the brewery. You made that beer for 10 cents ON PREMISE, and im trying to support your business, but im not going to go broke doing it Otherwise this is a cool spot to hang out, and i will be back, just not as frequently as i would like

Candy R.

Yelp
The place it's self is nice and mod, with what may be the cleanest restrooms I've seen in a brewery. What I quickly noticed is how this brewery was designed purposely to make money on the tap room. Large open space, great views, games and tons of sitting space. What I enjoy about other breweries is how you can go and taste unique beers that they only brew for the house. The beer here seems a little basic, or maybe it was the way the lady behind the bar presented the brew she said, "we have red, wheat, IPA, Amber and we are out of porter." You could almost feel her excitement and passion for the brewery (sarcasm laugh). I feel like the place and beer is lacking a little culture and taste. Don't know how to explain it, but it's pretty basic. I may return to give it another shot, but we left this place and went to Four Corners around the block.

Minty M.

Yelp
These guys are great. Sure the tasting room feels a little corporate or sterile, but when the weather is nice, the courtyard is a great spot for a beer. The parking is a breeze, the prices are decent, and the taps are always cold and fresh. They continue to concoct interesting combinations (The Texas Blood orange IPA being my new favorite). All around, a good family owned and operated local company. I really hope they go far in the crowded field of Texas breweries.

Leland C.

Yelp
Cool hangout spot, cool people and very good beer!

Nick O.

Yelp
Great hidden treasure in the design district. Definitely worth a stop in for some great beer.

Bill R.

Yelp
Got to love a beer called Fire Ant Funeral! Nice selection of beers and a great patio for those of us with dogs. Even with a cold wind it was comfortable and friendly. We'll be back!

Ailene S.

Yelp
I am certainly not a beer connoisseur but was not a huge fan of the ales or IPAs offered. I liked the million singing Angels the best and was disappointed that the citrus flavored beers were out. Overall the brewery is clean and is simple with a small indoor room and larger outdoor seating area. The atmosphere honestly isn't that stimulating but they do have corn hole. However I would be interesting in coming back with my dogs since there is good outdoor seating.

Kristi A.

Yelp
We rented out Texas Ale Project for a corporate event and it was amazing. The lead brewer conducted tours of the brewery and a beer 101 class, which was highly popular with our group. Not to mention...the beer was awesome! Celina was great to work with and very accommodating. Thanks to all the crew at T.A.P.!
