I had a birthday $20 off discount to use, but also found an old Texas de Brazil gift card in the car. Usually gift cards are treated like cash so you can still use coupons and then apply a gift card toward the bill, but Texas de Brazil explicitly forbids using discounts and gift cards simultaneously, so since the gift card was for more than $20, I used my gift card instead.
Parking was easy as this Texas de Brazil is located in the Market Place with lots of parking. The interior is beautiful and actually smaller than I expected; aside from some outdoor seating and a few tables by the bar, it's just one large room. Our waitress Gabriella was the highlight of the meal, so gracious and attentive. They even asked if we preferred our meat medium rare versus medium, which I assume is then communicated to the gauchos.
Dinner is $64.99 + tax as of July 2024. They do offer a salad bar only option (even for dinner), which is more affordable. This makes Texas de Brazil slightly cheaper than Fogo de Chão, but more expensive than smaller non-chain Brazilian steakhouses.
As for the food, the salad bar was fine, though I wish they had some more fresh fruit to end the meal with. The hot food area had a seasonal shrimp stew, and they also had grilled shrimp via gauchos, for the month of July. I wish they gave polenta instead of french fries, but the pão de queijo and mashed potatoes were tasty. The grilled banana was a little cooler than room temperature and would have tasted exponentially better hot. The meats were generally good though several were a bit too salty in my opinion. They also advertised cuts like beef and pork ribs, as well as herb marinated pork loin, but these never appeared. I inquired specifically about pork and was told they only had the parmesan crusted pork and barbecue pork ribs. I ordered the parmesan crusted pork but it took a very long time to arrive and I had to remind our server twice; it came at the very very end of the meal after I asked for the check, when I was almost ready to give up.
Finally, I wish they had done something for celebrating my birthday. They asked when we checked in with the hostess if we were celebrating anything, and I said my birthday. Our waitress also saw my birthday coupon when we asked for the check and opted to use my gift card instead, so they definitely were aware. At the very least, they could have acknowledged with a "Happy Birthday." When I went to Fogo de Chão for my birthday, they offered a birthday discount AND a complimentary dessert.
Overall, service was mixed and the interior pretty, with decent enough food, but compared to other Brazilian steakhouses, Texas de Brazil is not my first choice.
