"Kyle is the pie capital of Texas for a very sweet reason. The restaurant features a giant fake pie fixed to the awning, and yes, the pie is really good. The menu is very long, so there’s always a new flavor to try — the strawberry-peach sounds dreamy. Takeout orders can be placed in person or online; there are indoor dine-in areas. Currently, the bakery’s national shipments are on pause because it’s too hot for shipping pies." - Nadia Chaudhury

Google
What a find!!! Quaint diner type atmosphere with EXCELLENT pies. Our original plan was to share two of the 5" pies - Dutch Apple and Blueberry. They will even warm up the pies if you want. My wife loved her Dutch Apple so much that she changed her mind about sharing. The crust on both pies were outstanding, probably the best I've ever had. Everything that I saw the other tables getting looked very good. All of the employees were very friendly.

Dense chocolate…Real whipped cream…Tart key lime…Homemade pies GALORE…Big ones! Small ones!…and the BEST, thickest lemon square 🍋 with homemade crust that I’ve ever eaten! Beautiful little park across the street for kids to play in while adults enjoy their PIE!!! 🥧 Kyle’s pie place is 100% worth the drive from Austin!!!

Google
This cute shop was so easy to find! Quick stop off the interstate between Austin and San Antonio and SO worth it! We got the Almond Joy Pie, and it is delicious! The only problem here is picking what one to buy!! Highly recommended!!

Love this place. They have daily specials and it's so good. They pie is obviously a must!

Google
Thursday meat loaf special was $9.75, great deal for a large portion which also came with a drink. The food was great, planning on coming for their Friday pot pie special. They also have a great option for to go dishes that we are planning on ordering for a family friend that's about to have a baby. Put it in the oven and family meal ready!

Google
You know, for a place completely branded after pies, you'd think they could make a good one. Unfortunately that's a BIG no. Tasted like a stale, bad poptart. Blueberry, Snickerdoodle, chocolate (the worst one, an undercooked brownie mix slapped on a soggy pie crust) We were not greeted in the front, there's a menu on the wall with food that wasn't available with no way of knowing, there were people back in the kitchen, but getting a basic turkey and provolone sandwich wasn't going to happen even though it's advertised on the wall. Nows here's the real story. The girl working the counter was very rude to us. It was 2 HOURS TO CLOSE and FREEZING OUTSIDE. They had all their chairs up for some reason, we assumed they had recently mopped or something, there was a lady sitting at a table as she had put a chair down. We started putting chairs down and she stopped us saying, "No don't put those down, we've already set up to close, there's a park across the street." Again. 2 HOURS BEFORE THEY CLOSED. Not a holiday, no sign on the door, no way of knowing even if they were closing early. Never coming back here again.

Google
The food is country cooking. Some things are good and some are ok. The pies are good and the banana pudding is really the best. They have a hot peach skillet it's good but very skimpy. Check the blackboards. In the old downtown Hutto. Parking is good. It's in an old building. Kind of shabby but kept fairly clean.

When I attended a party at a friend’s house, she had purchased pies from The Pie Company. They were wonderful and I drove 20+ miles to Kyle for a pie to share with friends. I bought the exact same pie my friend served at her party but, I promise you, the taste was not the same. It was dry and barely edible. Such a huge disappointment and embarrassment.

Yelp
Coming here for lunch is like going to your grandma's house. Cozy antique interior, grandma's recipe pies, and good ole family recipe meals. We ate the chicken salad, ham and cheese sandwiches, peach crumb pie, and a s'mores bar. All were delicious!! They also have casserole style dishes you can buy frozen to take home; think beef stroganoff, chicken pot pie, etc. Only improvement - I'd love to see more descriptions on the menu in person (what comes on each salad, dressing offerings, etc!). Parking is street parking out front!

Dorisma D.

Yelp
Delicious pies but I think they use lard in the crust. The blueberry and almond joy are great Definitely will return. Inside it looks like an old southern restaurant and I believe they also serve sandwiches It's located in central Kyle

Ellen S.

Yelp
I stopped in because I had a few hours to waste while my son was at a three hour class nearby. I couldn't believe how reasonably priced everything was. For $30 total, my friend and I got sandwiches, chips, drinks, and a brownie. Everything was delicious, and the only downside was that after the amazing lunch I didn't have room for the pie.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch, first time since moving to Kyle four years ago. The restaurant was clean with plenty of seating and decorated shabby chic (old school grandma style). The service was quick and easy. The male owner greeted me with a smile. I ordered a few things cause l wanted to sample many items to make a good analysis. Plus l was a bit hungry... plenty of food to eat for later. Lunch Box- Egg salad sandwich on Sourdough comes with a bag of Lays chips and a choice of cookie (Snickerdoodle). Wednesday Special- Chicken Breast w/ Cransberry-Citrus gray, side salad, roll, and unsweetened tea. Extra desserts- Lemon Pound cake, Key Lime Pie Slice The Egg Salad Sandwich, the egg salad itself was good however the sourdough tasted like gluten-free bread. Anyone who has tried gluten free bread knows it taste stale and very dry. The bread that once was lol The cookie was good and chewy. Not to dough but just enough moisture. Wednesday Special- The chicken breast was tender and well seasoned (big plus). The cranberry citrus gravy is a bit different to taste however it compliments the cornbread stuffing. The cornbread stuffing is but to does leave a heavy sage after taste. Even the gravy couldn't mask the sage entirely. Desserts- The Lemon Pound Cake way better than Starbucks and most definitely is the best in Central Texas in my opinion. Just perfect, the lemon taste isn't over powering which makes enjoying the perfectly baked pound cake heavenly. And last the Key Lime Pie slice, although not make to be traditional it is really really good. The creamy pie slice will have you coming back for more!

Yelp
I joined some friends for lunch at the Texas Pie Company. It was an ideal setting for a long lunch because you order at the counter and can sit at tables for as long as you'd like. We ordered chicken pie, tortilla soup, salad and sandwiches. Everyone was pleased with the food though there wasn't a big selection for our gluten free friend. My peanut butter pie wasn't overly sweet. Others bought mini pies to take home. Very pleasant casual place.

Katlyn P.

Yelp
We pass by this all the time and finally had the time to stop and try some pie! They have a lot of variety's of pie. Pecan pie is a favorite and was delicious. I also has the Texas Ranger cookie which was yummy! Their small pies are $6 and parked across the street. We will definitely have to come back and try the different flavored pies!

Gary C.

Yelp
The only service is they take your food and drink to your table. Good luck if you want a refill on your drink. The decor is boring it at the very least needs painted inside.

Thea R.

Yelp
The best Dutch apple pie I have ever had! You cannot miss this iconic Kyle bakery. I have tried some of their pies and my favorite so far is their Dutch apple pie. Order your pies ahead of time for major holidays to make sure you get one. We also have tried their lunch specials...though good. You really go here for the pies.

Stephen R.

Yelp
The quiche Lorraine is one of my favorites! Never tried their lunch, but you can't go wrong with any of their pies

Anthony K.

Yelp
Delicious pies! Look at their menu online before coming in so you don't hold up the line :-). Nine people ahead of us, They Serve One At A Time. Other than serving only one person, the pies we had were very good. And very tasty I loved the Almond Joy, coconut and chocolate chips

Diane K.

Yelp
You can't miss this place, it has a huge slice of pie on the outside front. The pies are wonderful, but they also have warm meals. Check out the daily specials. They usually have chicken pot pie one day a week. My favorite is the almond joy. I get it in the small 6". It has chocolate chips, coconut, and the perfect flakey crust. They also sell their crusts by themselves for those who want to bake their own.

Karen J.

Yelp
Great pecan pie and cute little shop with variety of pies and sandwiches. Also brownies

Jay G.

Yelp
Delicious homemade pies, sold entire or by the slice. Small dining area for lunch sandwiches, daily specials such as meatloaf, quiche, etc, and everything is also available to-go. Really nice family business in historic old-town Kyle. Love this place!

Ruthie W.

Yelp
I was chatting with a teammate who was going to be in Kyle for the weekend and I immediately thought of the Texas Pie Company. I had heard great things about @texaspieco so we stopped for some pies after we ate lunch in Buda. We bought a whole Chocolate Cream Pie to share with our neighbors and several small fruit pies - Blueberry and Strawberry Peach. So far we ate the chocolate cream pie...oh so sweet! So worth the drive!

Abby K.

Yelp
Their pies are amazing and worth the price! The servers are always polite and helpful. They also have lunch but only during a specific time so we have not made it there yet, but their dining room looks very clean and nice. Comfortable old-town feel.

Betty C.

Yelp
Love key lime pies and pimento cheese sandwich. 5 star ratings! Friendly Customer service. Easy parking, the best pie place in Texas!

Kirsten B.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for lunch: it was our first time here, so we didn't really know if we sat ourselves or how to order. We asked the cashier and she was rude and short with us, and we felt like we were bothering her by asking questions. No one greeted us upon entering, and by all means do I need someone to acknowledge me, but it would've been helpful in navigating their process. I asked the cashier what she recommended: she recommended the Daily special, but when I went to order it tells me it was sold out (so why recommend that or not mention that it's good, but sorry we are sold out). I asked her if the sandwiches came with a combo, and she was snappy about that, too. My bread was falling apart on my sandwich. The chicken salad was nothing to write home about: it wasn't bad, but it wasn't excellent. Because of the bad service, I really don't want to come back to try it again. It was overall not a good first experience.

Thang D.

Yelp
I wish the pies were less sweet. Peanut butter mousse pie is my favorite along with strawberry peach and blueberry pies. If they were not so sweet, I'd visit more frequently

Bee Y.

Yelp
Went on a Saturday afternoon and grabbed four different mini pies, a cookie and a cake pop. Everything was very good! That chocolate pecan was amazing, and the crust was really good. As soon as we tried them we were already planning our next trip and what we are going to try next.

Dave A.

Yelp
Great apple pie. The chicken pot pie was a little soupy but tasted great. The staff was friendly at pickup.

Kyle G.

Yelp
The Pies are fantastic, never been disappointed by any flavor. Kyle has made the pie part of the unique identity of our small town & it was a wise choice as the Pie delivers.

Joe Q.

Yelp
We decided to try this little place as we were told the pot pies were really good. The Texas Pie Company is located downtown, Kyle. The restaurant is nice with a homey feel. All 3 of us ordered the special, which was reasonably priced. The pot pies came with a salad and a roll with unsweetened tea. The pot pies were really good with a nice creamy filling and chunks of chicken with a really nice airy crust. The tea was great and severed with a lemon. Salad was good, we had ranch dressing. There is not much to choose from in the way of dressings. It's either ranch or vinaigrette. But the ranch was good as well. Drinks, there are no fountain drinks, just tea and a few can sodas. Not my pick restaurants with can soda. You order at the counter, and they call your number and bring it to you. Not a big fan on that either. Im used to the traditional take your order at the table, but these are just my preferences. Service to the table was super fast. All and all was a nice lunch. Pot pies you can buy anytime, but if you want the special where it comes hot to the table, you need to be there friday and I would be there before noon because they do sell out. This place is really known for their pies and let me tell you we bought a dutch apple pie and was amazing. Really nice crust with a nice crunch. Filling was nice, fresh, and tasty. Several flavors to choose from. It's definitely worth a stop, so give them a try.

Thelma M.

Yelp
Good pies but they use lard In their crust. The Almond Joy cake is very good Come inside it's very quaint

Mayra R.

Yelp
The friendly staff at Texas Pie Co always provides recommendations especially if you look overstimulated by the variety of pies they have. So many wonderful and tasty pies. I went in to buy a strawberry rhubarb pie and ended up getting that and their chicken pot pie lunch special! So good! Warm, welcoming and inviting smells make for a great visit!

Angelique M.

Yelp
The establishment is completely adorable and very homey. We didn't get a chance to sit down and eat since we arrived when the restaurant was closed but the pies were great! Getting the small ones are literally the exact amount for 2 people to eat. Definitely recommend trying the pies!

Heidi B.

Yelp
This review is based solely on their take home meals and desserts. The chicken spaghetti is to die for! I highly recommend trying it. Was a large amount of food for the price, and was absolutely tasty. My kiddo is a picky eater, and absolutely devoured this. The desserts are also very tasty. The lemon bar was our absolute favorite. This place does get pretty busy, so be prepared for a small wait if you go during prime times.

Carmen C.

Yelp
The best pies ever! We love the chocolate fudge and apple. The blueberry is delicious, too.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Leaving a review for the ford explorer/expedition SUV with a texas pie company sticker on their back windshield. I was minding my own business going 10 over speed limit on the highway, and this SUV aggresively closes in on me, rides my tail, and flashes their brights at me for for a few minutes. Traffic was packed but flowing, i had no where to go. Maybe think twice before driving like a child if youre going to try advertise a business with your vehicle ‍

Michael C.

Yelp
Went on a weekend after their lunch service closed. It had a definite rustic small town feel. There was a variety of pies to try along with other cakes. While the pies are small, they're completely filling and delicious.

Kai D.

Yelp
I was dying to go here once I arrived in Kyle. The pies looked so good from Yelp pictures. You can't miss this place with a huge slice of pie on the roof. It's kind of a small-ish place, reminiscent of a hometown bakery. Almost everything is on display; I didn't see any of the smaller pies on display so I opted for a full-sized blueberry and dutch apple with the dutch crumb. When I got back to my place, I immediately cut into the blueberry. A little too sweet for my taste, but that damn dutch apple?! Whoooo, my Lord! So tasty. Reminds me of McDonald's apple pies: buttery, flaky crust, sweet enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. I'm gonna have to make my way back here to try some other treats.

Lesha Y.

Yelp
Very sweet place. Great chicken pot pie lunch. Very cream. Price is right. It does have eclectic seating and decor.

Ely S.

Yelp
The desserts are amazing. I recommend them all and the staff is very friendly. I have been coming here since 2016 and I have never been disappointed.

William K.

Yelp
Pies were very disappointing. Try to miss second time and did not get any better unfortunately. I don't know how they can say. They have the best pies in Texas. I guess no one debates it.

Karson M.

Yelp
Food is just okay. Pie is great! Cute little place with good service. Recommend any of the seasonal pies!

Mary W.

Yelp
We stopped by here this Saturday afternoon around 0300. We got a slice of pie- my husband got the coconut pie and I got the chocolate cream pie. While the pies were good, we thought the price was a bit high for the pie. Also, they didn't let us sit and eat the pies in the restaurant since the kitchen closed at 0200. At least they could update their website to reflect that fact. Service was okay. They wouldn't let a lady whose birthday it was sit and eat their slice of pie either. Overall, we will not be back!

Keshia R.

Yelp
It was love at first bite! When I tell you as soon as I opened the box the beautiful aroma of these magical pies hit me. My mouth was watering as I unwrapped them like I was opening presents on Christmas morning. I almost forgot to take pictures. (Thank my husband because he reminded me after I had already cut into one of the pies.) We LOVED, LOVED, LOVED them all!!! These pies taste like magic! Like how can they be this good! Flakey crust, just the right amount of sugar, just perfect! All I can say is you have to try this place! Amazing! Service was also great, Paoula helped me. She made some suggestions Almond Joy pie, S'mores bar and lemon bar which were all phenomenal. Hands down best pies I have ever had!!! I will be back again real soon! A must try!!!

Michael F.

Yelp
Very pricey and proud. Been in there several times and was treated like an out of towner. I live in Kyle! Everyone that has a store of some kind on Center Street is welcoming and friendly. Why isn't your staff. It's going to affect your business. I didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling when I walked in 15 minutes before they closed. Matter of fact, I was told I couldn't get a sandwich because the kitchen was already closed. It's just a sandwich and a piece of pie. Sorry for the inconvenience. But I thought that's why you are there, to serve your customers. I'll think twice before going to get our annual strawberry/rhubarb pie for my wife's birthday. But one bad experience can ruin it. It may have. I will add, the food and pies are great! But how good is the food when the service provided is below par!

Mary R.

Yelp
Absolutely love love Texas Pie! I have never ate anything here that I didn't love. I definitely need a strong willpower to not buy all the pies. My favorites are almond joy pie, apple pie, key lime pie, peach pie and all the cookies.

Brenda W.

Yelp
We were very disappointed in the peach pie. Minimal fruit; mainly crust. Overpriced for what was received. The peach pie at Wimberly Cafe was much better. Worth the drive.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Very home-y vibe at the restaurant. As the sign indicates- the pies, sweet or savory, are all unbelievable.

Amy A.

Yelp
Always delightful staff and delicious pie. Absolutely adore this place. We order our Thanksgiving pies from them every year and it's always a hit.

Laura A.

Yelp
Yummy pie with lots of options to choose from with friendly staff. Very little indoor seating but we just pick up and take out. We love pie in Kyle, TX.

Eagle E.

Yelp
Rudest people ever. I hate going to a place and you feel bad because you walked in the door. On top of forgetting one of our orders the real skinny rude lady there made me feel like &$!? When I asked her about it. Very rude. Pie was jus hmmm.

Karis C.

Yelp
Their pumpkin pie is amazing. Their apple, snickerdoodle and pecan are all good also. I'm not even usually a pumpkin pie person but this is the best. The also have good quiches. I haven't tried the take and bake meals.

Megan K.

Yelp
When I moved here in 2017, I didn't know that Kyle was the pie capital of Texas. Texas pie Company has great little individual pies and their chicken pot pie is to die for. If you call ahead they will cook the chicken pot pie for you so it's already warm when you pick it up or you can get it frozen and cook it yourself at home. They have a cute little dining restaurant and some quick and delicious lunch options for sandwiches. I love everything here and the service is great.

anon a.

Yelp
Turkey sandwich was proceeded lunch meat. Salad dressing was store bought Staff was less than friendly especially considering that it is small town Texas I won't be back

Lien R.

Yelp
We only bought a couple pies and some cookies for a road trip. Will have to say, everything was very good. The pecan pie was a huge surprise as most is too sweet and the "gooey" part always makes me "eeew"! Definitely need to try them.

Shannon T.

Yelp
TX Pie Co has amazing chicken salad and tuna salad sandwiches! They're fresh and large and you can choose your toppings. I haven't tried the large pies (yet) but they have 4" fruit pies that are perfect for 1 or 2 people single servings. I recommend the strawberry peach - YUM!

Janet R.

Yelp
We had the pecan fudge, coconut cream and cherry pie. All were really good. If you get a fudge or fruit pie get them heated. The servers weren't rude as other reviewers have said, but they weren't necessary helpful either. She answered my questions but didn't tell us where we could sit (the chairs were on the tables in the area you order and drapes separated the "dining room"). Didn't have much ambiance -looks like a small town tiny diner. I would definitely stop in again if I was in Kyle to get some pie.

Jeanette G.

Yelp
Hands down the best salad in town! It's convenient and quick. Pies are delicious as well.
