Texas Pride BBQ: A True BBQ Gem! Texas Pride BBQ is everything you want in a classic Texas barbecue joint and more! From the moment you pull in, you'll appreciate the ample parking and the charming, old-fashioned look of the place – it just feels right. The menu is fantastic, offering a huge variety of options. Whether you're looking for daily specials, a kids' menu, meat combos, or even meat by the pound, they have it all. Their sides are phenomenal; I highly recommend the brisket and sausage, and definitely try some jalapeño poppers, cheesy potatoes, and cream corn. What truly set this experience apart was the outstanding service. When I couldn't decide between the peach, pecan, or cherry cobbler for dessert, the employee went above and beyond, offering me a full spoon sample of each! That's what I call excellent service. Of course, I ended up getting all three with ice cream on the side – they were delicious. The staff is friendly, fast, and incredibly patient and kind. I will 100% recommend Texas Pride BBQ to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious BBQ experience.

The atmosphere is great, although we haven't visited for any live shows or events, just to eat. The meat is great. However, you don't get a lot for the cost. Also; we were not that impressed with their selection for sides. We live close by so would come back when out of state family visits to give them a taste of Texas BBQ.

Stopped by Texas Pride BBQ on the way home from the local corn maze. I had heard this place was amazing and was also featured on DDD. It wasn't busy when we got there and it was only around 3 or 4 pm. We had guests with us and had about 12 of us. We ordered 2 family meals and easily spent over $150. The cost was not really an issue as it's about right with any other bbq place. Issue was the food and service. We tried to order a variety of meats only to be told they were out of chicken and turkey, so we had to settle for just brisket and ribs. Then we got to the sides. Our food sat up on the counter while they proceeded to get the next 3 people or so after us first, just because they were parties of 2. I'm ok with that if one person was handling them while another handled us, but why should our food sit there getting cold while they wait on everyone else. We got our sides and bottled drinks and sat down. Then, we realized we had no plates. With a party of 12, you would think they would have asked because they don't give you any extra paper for plates. The corn, beans, peach cobbler, and potato salad were all very good and fresh, and the potatoes were cold. The ribs were fall off the bone but did not have much flavor. Definitely have had much much better. The brisket was good as well and very tender, but again, not the best we have had. The atmosphere here is amazing, with plenty of seating, concerts, events, memorabilia all around, a kids playground, and more. It is definitely a take your out of town guest too kind of place. Overall, I'd probably give it another shot as the food wasn't bad. I'd say it's a middle of the road bbq place, it's the atmosphere that draws people there. Food rating mostly because they were out of 2 main meat options. Despite the 3 stars, you will probably be happy if you stop by. We just weren't that impressed today.

Google
get in line, choose your food, pay, go eat. really good stuff. really solid BBQ. This place has been here for years and it's evident as to why. the pecan cobbler is stupid good. We shared across the table and I don't think I had anything that wasn't really good. I am a member of a BBQ team that competes (non KCBS) and pulls in some hardware most of the time so I think I have a solid opinion on what is good and what is great. This place is great and it isn't pretentious about it. Texas BBQ is hard to stand out in as a result of having so many great places to eat the stuff. Keep it up.

Google
The restaurant is very nice except they don’t limit their customers from parking in front, and we can’t take the pictures in the angle we want. It was so upsetting. We were waiting for a black truck to leave to get a good picture, and a white van arrives and parks next to it. It is just rude. There are people who don’t think about others. That’s not even a parking space, and they have plenty of space directly in front of the business for everyone. Anyways, so much waiting for the black truck to leave, and the new white van arrives and parks there, too. Look at the picture I provided of the parking lot and the touristic area covered with the white van for our pictures. We want the best view, and we struggled to get around the vehicle, and honestly, we didn’t get a great picture as we could have. Please be cognizant that people drive from far away to get a shot of the touristic timeless view of the restaurant decorative. Hello! Anyhow, the brisket and pulled pork is good. The tea is made with bad water. No sugar can rid the bad taste of the faucet water they use. The green beans are cooked with little to no salt and taste bland. The Pecan Cobbler is just amazing; I highly recommend it. The beans taste okay. The mash potatoes are disgusting. The potato salad tastes good. The macaroni is very good! Their barbecue sauce is delicious. I would definitely recommend they make creamed corn as a side because that’s a Texan favorite and work on seasoning on their green beans, beans, and mash potatoes to improve. I’ve tried better brisket, but it’s still very good. I like how clean the restaurant is and cozy. I definitely recommend it to everyone. It was 25 minutes away from me on the highway. It still felt far, so if you go there, be considerate that people may want to get a memory shot of the whole view including the Texas Pride above. Be respectful and understanding. Some people only think of themselves.

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic back country bbq look no further! My dad and I took a trip out to Texas Pride and we weren't disappointed! Everyone inside was incredibly friendly and we got our food in record time. I love the indoor atmosphere, it's a great location for any event or gathering. My pulled pork sandwich was amazing, I could eat it every day! Though my waistline wouldn't like it! :)

Yelp
Been 4 times 3 to many. To much to explain but you can't say I didn't try, food has been dry and dessert is Walmart quality. Heck bottled drink were warm. Fries Over cooked and you obviously have to head hunt a togo box if you want further torture. And when I pulled the Togo out of y truck I dropped the one meal that may have had a chance. Probably was a sign to leave for the stray puppy I see roaming around from time to time.

Yelp
Okay, it has been at least 15 years since I have been here. Not going to go into why I haven't been. You can ask me next time you see me. Well, we finally got to go back, mainly because we were seeing two bands play. I've always wanted to see some bands here. We walked up to the restaurant, and it has a ton of decor on the walls, good to see when the line is long. We walked up to the counter, read the menu above us, and decided to share a two meat plate. We got the chicken and brisket, cause in a snob on brisket, I ordered some burnt ends, and they accommodate my request. We got the cream corn and pinto beans, cause I'm a snob on beans as well. Beer and a water. Sat down in the dining area, thru another door, from the serving area, long table to sit at. They had a couple of tv's on, a small stage, and a bar. I think they had another room for parties. After a prayer, we dug into our meal. The brisket and the chicken were lukewarm. The beans and corn were hot. The chicken leg broke off with a bit of a pull. The shin was good, the chicken was good as well. The brisket was not bad, it was cut with the grain, so we had to cut it to smaller pieces. The burnt ends, had a great taste to it. Got me a pint of beer and headed back to the bigger stage area. Nice open area, plenty of seating. They have a General Lee back there. Stage is up high. Sound is good. The whole area is covered, but still open to the weather so take that into consideration when you go. So, smoking cigars are only allowed out near the parking lot. Not cool, no place to sit and enjoy the music. The bathrooms are clean. Oh, so I ended getting a pitcher of beer. Next time we go, I'm getting our food and then getting a pitcher at the bar. Think that is a better deal.

Yelp
1.The brisket and barbecue chicken flavor was OK. It's just regular barbecue sauce on the side. doesn't really have that WoW factor as far as the Taste go's. The Tea and lemonade was on point. 2.Customer services is good and the order was made quick. 3. The, outside in the insight is really decked out. Love it inside of the dining areas somewhat dim.

Yelp
One of the best bbq spots in the area. Many events are held in conjunction with normal festivities. Worth a trip anywhere in a 50 mile radius. Catering available. Service is friendly and helpful. If you're entertaining outside of the area guests this is must. Picturesque.

Yelp
First the service lady was rude she got upset that we asked for fresher cuts of meat we didn't want the ones they had under the cafeteria style lamps but it turned out the same the brisket was dry and had no flavor the sausage link was super dry and so was the chicken and the ribs I feel like they used to be good on their bbq quality and taste but not anymore we were very disappointed about this food experience

Yelp
I hesitate to write bad reviews. My motto is, unless something is egregious, don't make waves. Off the top of my head, I *might* have two other one-star reviews in the entire time I've been on Yelp--which is a long dang time. So that being said, I had to write this to give folks a heads-up. We drove out to the Texas Pride BBQ from the Medical Center area because my husband had heard really good things about them on KENS 5. It seemed interesting, so my husband, my stepson and I took a little trip to the opposite side of town. Everything at first seemed great; the service was good, and the meat looked and tasted good, too. It was also a cute (big) place. And then every single one of us got food poisoning the next day. My husband and stepson were first with the nausea, but were doing OK, with just a couple bouts of vomiting. I, on the other hand, spent about 12 hours hugging the porcelain throne, begging God to just end it, before my husband insisted that we go to the ER. Eventually they ADMITTED me to the dang Hospital because I was so bad off. Between the ER and Methodist, I was in the Hospital for two days because the food poisoning had triggered my first-ever gallstone attack. It's taken me a week to begin to feel normal again, and I will never, ever eat at Texas Pride Barbecue again. Be forewarned. Also, do yourselves a favor and check out some of the "42 reviews for Texas Pride Barbecue that are not currently recommended"

Yelp
First time eating here after driving past many times. It was really good. My gold standard for BBQ is Kreuz in Lockhart. This is no Kreuz, at least not what I had, but it's much closer to my house and decent. Definitely good enough if that makes sense. I had the brisket which had good flavor but was a little dry but definitely not bad. I also had the jalapeño cheddar sausage which was really good. The potato salad was really food too. I plan to come back and would recommend it.

Robin K.

Yelp
Just visiting but had to have brisket. Not disappointed at all. It was fantastic. Service was fine. It's pretty much cafeteria style but the ambiance was so cool. From the outside it looks like an old gas station. Lots of memorabilia including the General Lee and other old trucks and vehicles. I would definitely get back there next time I'm in Texas.

Yelp
We've been gone for several years and moving back we kept seeing posts that Texas Pride was no longer good and had completely changed. Let me tell you this couldn't be further from the truth and the food was excellent, service was fast and the atmosphere screams Texas BBQ. Don't listen to the haters, this is the best BBQ in the area. Brisket is tender and moist, Turkey flavor is excellent, and the peach cobbler is to die for! If you want authentic Texas BBQ, this is it!!!!!

Yelp
Went here for a graduation lunch and it was pretty disappointing. The food wasn't great. I had the brisket sandwich which was really dry. The fries were super greasy. The sausage was okay but seemed to have been sitting out for a while so was not hot. The station where they had their hot sides looked disgusting. The bins were half empty and the food looked like it had been sitting out for a while. Not very appetizing. The only thing we liked was the macaroni salad and that's not because it was anything special, it just was better than the other options. We drove an hour to this place and its safe to say we wont be going back. The staff looked annoyed. The place wasn't busy so I was a little confused as to why they weren't very friendly. Much better Bbq options in town that are much closer and a better value.

Yelp
I actually like this place. Very country, and I love the nostalgic feel. Food is delicious, but the only gripe...the cobbler. I am a cobbler shop, and I am on 5he hunt for the best peach cobbler. This wasn't the best, but it was ok. Stop by because they have live music, gameroom, dance floor and playground for the kids. Its in the middle of nowhere, but watching the sunset here is wonderful

Yelp
I am unhappy that I have to write this review. I heard about Texas Pride BBQ from KENS 5 News, a usually reliable source. So on Saturday the 8th, we all jumped in the car and drove across town to give them a try; I don't often take a 30 minute drive to get a good meal, but I was convinced by my favorite news source. The good news... I loved the atmosphere. The dirt and weed filled parking lot, the fantastic smell, the great sounding music heard as we drove up, the working farm looking buildings all exuded charm. Walking in, I was again impressed with the decor--old-fashioned and homey; looked authentic, not plastic. We waited patiently in line for about 15-20 minutes. The family just in front of us took a long time to put in their order; long enough that another person walked up to take our order. My wife took the brisket and rib; my son did the chicken, brisket, and ribs; I did the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs. We also did dessert. Everything looked and smelled delicious, and the price was reasonable for the food we got. When we walked to the seating area, I was again pleased. You could hear the music, but it wasn't overly loud (one of my pet peeves). Our meal tasted great! We all commented that the food was well worth the 30 minute drive. But here's the downside... The next morning, my stomach was a little queasy. Sunday evening, my wife started throwing up... enough that I took her to the ER. They gave her fluids, nausea meds, and ran a series of tests, including CAT scan. They said her gallbladder was inflamed. Eventually, she was admitted to Methodist Hospital, where she spent two days. While I was waiting for my wife, I ran into the bathroom and also threw up. I went home and threw up three more times... When I got felt better, I talked to my son; he also threw up. Somehow, I doubt we'll be going back.

Yelp
Made the drive out to Texas Pride for some BBQ. Had the turkey, brisket, potato salad and mac. The service was good in the restaurant and the bar. Unfortunately the brisket and Turkey were very dry. The Mac and potato salad were good. The back area is a is a good place for a party.

Yelp
Had a great time hanging out here. Plenty of space to sit and eat and enjoy some good company. We parked our motorcycles and enjoyed the night. Great time

Yelp
What a cool spot! Had been invited to several events here and finally made it to one. There's a great deal of parking space. Live entertainment. When you walk in, you go down a lil hall and see Guys Fieri pics . While walking, the view to the left may be considered ONE of the many spots you could RSVP for a party. Make a right to get in line and order your food. We got the texas plate for two. They were out of chicken and turkey so we did dbl brisket . Nicely done! Not dry and good flavor. The ribs, well, they were the opposite. No flavor and a bit tough (for me), the hubsters like them. The sides and sausage made up for it though. Once you get your sides, you continue down to pick you drinks (or keep going down towards the cashier and could ask for small or large cup if you don't want the bottled sodas or beer) Once paid, you go into the main lobby and eat (sitting area, live entertainment, and where the tea is!) If you continue towards the back, there is the outdoor sitting area and lil game room and additional restrooms. I will most definitely return!

Yelp
Came with high expectations based on the name and reviews. Extremely disappointed I drove all the way out there to waste $54 (2 adult meals, kid corn dog). The meat was extremely fatty. Not marbled, FATTT. The pulled pork was so nasty it's like they dropped slop on my husband's tray. My brisket was so oily, the paper/ wax tray liner was swimming in oil by the time I got to the table. The corn could've been good but it wasn't even room temp when I get it. None of the food came out close to "fresh food" temp at all. The fries were basically medium rare and also swam in their oil. My husband enjoyed their sweet tea and their lemonade was fresh (not tropicana). The bar was decent.. lots of options and pre made mixes they stick in a blender so I'm sure they came out alright. I order cherry vodka sour and had to tell the first bar tender how to make it (she had a heavy hand with her liquor pour so I'm not complaining. They do have a band but whoever does their sound had a speaker popping and giving terrible feedback all night. That was kinda rough but they played decent music and I did like the idea of the bar out there with the music and playground too. Over all, I would not go back for food, period. However, if I was invited there for a reason (bday/ friends gathering/ etc etc) I would go just for the bar, music and playground all being together.

El Torro T.

Yelp
The BBQ here is awsome, always great tasking and the atmosphere and live music is a huge plus. The staff are rude and uncaring aside from the bartender. If you can tolerate the incredibly rude people behind the counter when you walk in it's worth it. Advice - hire people that want to be there, remove those with attitude. Review your security footage to see how they treat people. Eating out is an expense experience now, people don't want the be treated like crap.

Tommy W.

Yelp
Just go somewhere else, the food tastes like it just came from a Goodwill soup line, dry, everything comes from a can, nothing fresh except the road kill they attempt to grill. Just a shame.
google avatar

Tyra G.

Yelp
Really good bbq! We ordered the 4 meat bbq to share. The staff was so friendly. She was exact with the 1/4 pound slices! All of the meats were good and the sides were great. I just wish the bark wasn't so dry and almost burnt. When done right, it's meat candy. That's just me being picky because it's my favorite part. I highly recommend!
google avatar

Johanna B.

Yelp
We've been here a few times before. I would rate them as pretty good, but with room for improvement. It isn't that something was bad, it's just that nothing was especially memorable. The young lady serving my brisket went out of her way to find lean meat for me. That was very sweet. The mac and cheese was my favorite. The pinto beans were ok. My husband said his ribs were dry. We had heard their ribs were really good. We would like to go back again and try some different items.

Yelp
When I worked in south Texas, many times my crew would all want bbq and it always led us here. Always enjoyed the bbq and atmosphere. Today, my wife and daughter were going to San Antonio so I recommended this place because of my past experiences. They were completely dissatisfied with the quality and whole experience all together. The food was cold, dry and the employees were all seeming to be pissed to be at work. When they asked for bread, a lady just tossed them the almost empty bag of bread. What happened to this place? I told them it was amazing and they're calling me pretty much pissed they wasted their money.

Zachary C.

Yelp
I grew up in the area and i've seen this place go down hill the past few years. I flew back home for the weekend and decided to eat here with my family because I was craving barbecue. First thing I noticed was how dead it was for a saturday night. The second thing I noticed was that every employee behind the counter serving food had a tone while speaking to us. You can see the annoyance in their eyes as they try to rush you around the line as quickly as they can. They don't like questions. The brisket is seasoned well, but the quality of meat is better at other places. So it still tastes good-ish, but the quality and customer service has gone down hill.

Ray R.

Yelp
I used to like Texas pride, but I thought there was something off about their barbecue because it taste more like it come out of an oven rather than a pit. I looked at the meat and noticed it DID NOT have a smoke ring around where the bark is. I love the staff and they're very professional and very courteous, but their food is just not something I believe Guy Fieti would endorse

Amy D.

Yelp
We enjoy Texas Pride for food as well as entertainment! We eat here often and we enjoy dancing on the weekend. A nice location, outside of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Yelp
I went there today around 430 to get dinner. The staff was not very friendly. The food was horrible!! Meat was extremely dry (ribs, brisket, and pulled pork), potato salad was sweet and disgusting, green beans were just a smashed up mushy mess and the bbq sauce was basically tomato paste. The loaf of bread however was amazing. (Not their's!!) 100% do not recommend. At least not at 430 on a Friday afternoon... maybe I got leftover lunch?? Either way, disappointing!!!

Jackie J.

Yelp
We were here on a Sunday for a vendors Market and had lunch. I've been a BIG BBQ fan and have yet to try Texas Pride. I saw it on Triple D years ago and it looked amazing! I ordered the two meat meal- I got three small slices of brisket and their house sausage. The brisket was good- but lacked flavor. It was just smoked. Nothing fancy or exciting. The sausage was similar. Tasty, but nothing to "write home about" The bacon potato salad was REALLY good!! I'd go back just for that! But the Mac-n-cheese was blah. Additionally, the service was quite slow and the staff seemed to struggle with who was supposed to do what and when and how... Overall, I would go back and give them another chance. But I am NOT in a hurry.

Sandy F.

Yelp
Went to late lunch with friends and we were delighted with the food. Overwhelmed by the choices we decided to try all the meats. We were not disappointed. The meat was plastic fork tender, so very good. I wasn't all that impressed with the sides though. We stayed for a few hours and enjoyed the atmosphere. Will most likely be back at some point when we have the urge for barbecue

Yelp
I have been visiting this BBQ joint once every year for the last 5 years. When I arrived the first time, I swore by it. It instantly became my favorite BBQ joint. But, after so many visits I feel like the quality has gone down a bit. My more recent visit a few months ago resulted in dry ribs and brisket. Maybe I received something that was a day or two old but I can't say that this is the best bbq anymore. I've been enjoying Coopers more and more over the last couple years.

Yelp
Way out of the city if you'd ask me...but is it worth it? Heck yes. They have bbqs that are falling apart in itself, their portions are huge, the sides are freaking great. The ladies in the counter are super nice and they had a live band playing in the back. Best Texan BBQ i ever had!!!! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The food is great and the service is outstanding. Very cool spot to check out for some Texas style bbq.

Yelp
The pecan cobbler was fantastic!!!!This is the best way to enjoy a pecan pie filling without having to eat a whole pie!!!

Yelp
Food is fantastic, service is always great! True Texas food experience. We also love the good music!

Yelp
Great food & great service. BBQ is wonderful, red potato salad (homemade) & beans are yummy! Kind service and even invited me back for their live music & fried fish on the weekends!

Yelp
This restaurant was on the Diners, Drive-In's and Dives and got a favorable rating from Guy F. My wife and I have visited 35 of the top 50 BBQ places in Texas from the latest Texas Monthly magazine so I would say we have a good idea what BBQ should taste like. We ordered all the meats and 5 sides and also had both sauces. I am sorry , we don't see what Guy F. was seeing as this bbq joint is not one we would ever go back to. If you live in the area you probably go for convenience factor. Top BBQ places near here : Pinkertons , 2M or Burnt Bean. You can't go wrong at anyone of these restaurants

Yelp
Texas Pride BBQ - Terrible Service and Food! Wow! This was just plain BAD!!! Brisket (1): Bland, no seasoning, no smoke flavor. Tasted as though they prepared it in an oven. Chicken (0) Smelled like Carcass! It was really old and dry. It's very off-putting. Ribs (3): Were tender, but tasted bland. Were not good at all. Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage (3): Had a funky aftertaste! Cheesy Potatoes (1): My wife had to spit them out. Potato Salad (7): The only good thing besides Bottled sodas and pickles & onions Very, very disappointed. We didn't want to waste $35 only to be hungry and spend money elsewhere, so I encouraged my wife to run inside and retrieve a refund. My wife went inside reluctantly to retrieve the refund. The young girl in her 20's to '30s in front with a braided ponytail and many tattoos was beyond rude. She initially denied the refund and said, "Nope, you took the food with you". My wife then stated, "We had just left with the food". The counter girl asked why we didn't like the food and the wife replied "the Brisket was dry and the chicken had an off-putting smell". This obviously annoyed her and she said, "Wow, you didn't like anything?!?" (in a condescending way). My wife told her we kept the sodas and was happy to pay for them. She then sighed and shook her head side to side repeatedly while repeating what my wife said about the food. My wife then told her, "Well, if the food is not good, it's not good". The counter girl glared at my wife and shook her head and made a snide comment about her returning food that she had left with. The agitated worker then asked for the receipt (which they did not give when the food was purchased). My wife told her the total and then the counter girl said she was going to give a full refund. My wife again reminded her that we kept the sodas that she planned on paying for. The worker said, "I'm going to just give you a refund and move on to my paying customers!" She continued to shake her head no the entire time while completing the refund. After giving my wife the receipt, she said, "You might as well take this food with you. I can't do anything with it!" My wife again said, "No, we did not care for it. You can just throw it away". As my wife walked away, the girl said, "Thanks for wasting my time!" So this is a real class act. This is not only a "One & Done", but even if I was being treated for free, I wouldn't even bother. Totally unacceptable behavior. We were on a time crunch, so we were not able to speak to the manager about the unprofessionalism of this worker, however, here's the review. Wasted Time, "Big" Henry

Yelp
Wife and I went here for brunch. I had the jalapeño sausage biscuit with gravy. She had a brisket taco with a jalapeño popper. They both were really good. We also got two mimosas they were great! Friendly people and a cool vibe inside.

Yelp
Very disappointed . Seems like everyone is cutting corner's these days. First, I ordered a rib plate . I got three small ribs about 4 inches short . My beans look like paste all stuck together , the sauce is now served in an extra small cup, my husband ordered the loaded potato salad and it was horrible. Also ordered a peach cobbler which was cold. We usually frequent this place but it is unlikely we will not be back .

Yelp
2nd time here. (First time with my real estate broker before moving to San Antonio) Decided to give this place a "try" again and also, our son lives about 20 minutes away(meeting for lunch)..though a little drive coming from the Stone Oak Area of SA. Place: We like the look of the old gas station and antiques that are part of the decor. The interior could use some work... tables not cleaned or water leak on floor. Don't know where it was coming from. Food: the only good food was the pecan cobbler! Ribs- Didn't taste fresh. Some part of meat hard, Like a day old and yes they removed it from the warmer ... This was a 1 out of 5 Briskets- Lacked flavor. Ordered moist 1 out of 5 Sausage- quite the opposite , too salty. 1 out of 5 Mac & a cheese - speechless Comment: Being a person that loves to cook and yes smoke my own meat, I know when food is prepared with love and care and the food at Texas Pride does not cut it! I know there are fans of TX Pride , but not feeling it. An honest review ! Oh Guy Fieri is not always on point when it come to food. This is a miss!

Yelp
Really cool concept. I like the phone booth that is out front as well as all the other vintage items they have throughout the restaurant. They have really old vintage soda bottles. Really cool to see all these old items. Food: I got the three meat plate: ribs, brisket and sausage. Out of the three meats I would say the brisket was the best. They cut the brisket different. Very similar to the brisket you will find and city market in Luling they sausage was alright. The brisket was alright. The Mac and cheese was really good. Loaded mashed potatoes were kind of dry. Nothing was just amazing and great. Very middle of the mall type Bbq. Service: great people that work here. Extremely friendly nice people. They move fast. We showed up and there was a line but the crew did such a great job so they get 5 Stars for that. Price: great value for the money. They don't skimp you on meat portions like other Bbq spots I've had in Austin. They are very generous with their servings.

Yelp
BBQ is great. Ribs fall off the bone, brisket is tender and chicken has great flavor. I'm glad I live nearby. Try it you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I went here for a coworker's going away party. .I was excited to try a new spot for barbecue in Texas. This was by far the worst barbecue I've had in Texas my coworker who even suggested the place where everyone was disappointed at the way the food was that day. Maybe it was just a bad day and I'll have to return and try it another time. Without the big crowd maybe But the food was barely worthy of any pictures I had ordered turkey and pinto beans and it had flavor but was room temp and my friends sides were blah mac and cheese and potatoes were cold and bland nothing special. Even after adding salt and pepper and everything needed bbq sauce for some more flavor.we all ended up trashing the food. We couldn't even Finish it

Yelp
I've been a regular customer for about 3 years now. They're very consistent for my visits. I almost always do takeouts and get quick service each time. The place does crazy business on nights when they're hosting events so i personally avoid those times. Our "go to" meats are brisket and jalapeño sausage. The brisket is moist and somewhat fatty (could be even more so for me) and almost always tender cooked. The jalapeño sausage has just the right mix of spice and fat. For dessert, the pecan gobbler is gooey sweet good. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. This place is a strong recommend.

Yelp
We happened across Texas Pride as a family. Was so happy we did. Service was super friendly and helpful. All the meat options were great, the sides were tasty, the frito pie was heavy on the meat and cheese. Just a great casual place.

Yelp
Cute place for photos and antique decor. We got the nachos and something else and I would have like to put my own additional sauce on them, but they were good. Live music is always nice. It's in the middle of nowhere and a bit of a drive for us so more of a destination location and I'm not sure we would go back but I do love to take pics so I wouldn't mine seeing it before sun set And they do seem to have a variety of events and music so maybe I'd go again. Has a nice play ground outside for the kiddos.

Yelp
Really neat setting, with an old rustic feeling. Food was served fast with a lot of flavor. The sausage links had a lot of flavor. Everyone is super friendly

Yelp
Might be a 4 or 5 Star if outside of Texas. Superb customer service. Ton of complimentary pickles. Great ambience. Beans & cheesy potatos excellent. Gotta give all the meats an average rating. Edible, tastes good, but not the best if you're a spoiled Texas bbq connoisseur. Good stopping point and portion sizes are great. If you're hungry & in the area, good place to check out.
