Over Thanksgiving leftovers, my sisters and I decided to check out Texas Roadhouse on a whim on Black Friday. It was our first time visiting.
The Southern basement vibe (wood paneling overload!) and prompt seating set a cozy tone. All the clamoring I see about the legendary bread and cinnamon butter, I couldn't wait to taste it. The bread was good, though combined with the butter reminded me of an Aunt Annie's sweet cinnamon pretzel. Considering I'm not really a sweets person, I mainly ate the bread with a tiny dab of butter or without butter at all.
We opted for the appetizer sampler--meh. The boneless chicken lacked heat (hot sauce was super thin), rattlesnake bites tasted like Arizona nachos dip (iykyk), but the mozzarella twists (dipped in marinara sauce) saved the sampler. I gotta admit that before we got here, we thought the rattlesnake bites were actual rattlesnake LOL.
I kept it simple and basic with an American cheeseburger w/steak cut fries, which turned out tasty, though I only fully appreciated it the following day due to the generous bread and sampler. I was stuffed after the bread and apps. I tried a tiny piece of steak off my sister's plate--nicely seasoned.
Service was on point, and Gleny, our waitress, was great. Overall, a solid experience with reasonable prices but I don't think I'd make the trip again (in state or otherwise). It is one and done for me.
PS: TX Roadhouse is located in a strip mall which makes parking a breeze.
