High Restaurant Prices Kill the Joy of Trying New Places | Bon Appétit

"A once-fun, family-oriented chain known for birthday-style pageantry has left some regulars disappointed after recent changes: attractions like the mechanical bull and complimentary celebratory cake have disappeared, and once-generous dessert portions have been reduced to token scoops with whipped cream. With visible price increases and the feel of a widely franchised operation, some patrons say they’re less inclined to visit despite fond memories of lively celebrations there." - ByMeghan McCarron

From the moment we arrived until we left, the atmosphere was spectacular. It was our first time there, and the server was very friendly and explained the menu to us. We will definitely come back! It is one of the best places to eat!

Our server on Mother's Day was amazing! He took good care of us. I wish I could remember his name. 😢

Klaire was such a great waitress! She always had a smile despite putting up with us old farts. She made sure our beverages were always full or asked if we needed another. Our orders were accurate and looked great. The ingredients on my crispy chicken salad were fresh and tasty, but I didn't realize it was going to have bacon bits on it. I'll know next time not to order the bacon bits. The others in our group enjoyed their steaks. If management sees this post, I just hope Klaire gets a raise. She demonstrated leadership as she led several birthday salutes. She definitely knows her job well and sure seems to love it too.

Google
It's always really loud but that's just the environment and doesn't change my rating. Food is always fantastic and service is usually great as well. The rolls and butter are the best!

Google
Very good food, delicious. Got my steak medium well plus. It was still a hint of red but not bloody and still mooing at me nor was it well done . It was perfect! The mashed potatoes were hot like it was just cooked. The shrimp 🍤 appetizer was so delicious. Sorry no Pic it got ate before I could get a picture. Waiter was very friendly and attentive. ( Roberto). Come enjoy this family friendly restaurant. Music was a little too loud as they sat us right under a speaker. We couldn't hear each other. Plenty of parking.

Hands down the best Ribeye I have ever had and the bartenders Rolf and Franchesca were great.

Went here to eat w/ my girlfriends and had a fun time. :) We devoured the bread, they were so soft and fluffy. My 8 oz sirloin steak was okay - I realize that restaurants like this never really cook it the way you want, so why ask? I asked for medium rare, came out well done. Oh well. Still enjoyed my time. We will definitely come back to get the drinks they have! :) Server was very friendly and attentive, didn’t catch his name but everyone was very nice!

Google
Our waitress was good. The lady delivering the food (not the waitress) was rude and insulting!! The shrimp and fries had been sitting around a while - stale. Prime rib had more fat and gristle than meat. Broccoli wasn`t cooked. Why would the cook even serve a piece of meat like this??? The people accross the aisle from us were having problems also. Does this place have a manager?? I've been to other restaurants in this chain and they were all good. Never ever coming back to this restaurant.

Yelp
Before today, I hadn't been to a Texas Roadhouse in over a decade. It's a lot better than I remember. Highly affordable "value steakhouse." Drinks under $5, appetizers under $10, and large-portion meals under $15. Attentive, quick and friendly service. With rising costs being so insane today, there are not a lot of other places that have this much to offer at this price point. We'll be back. We had the rolls, cactus blossom, ribs, and bone-in ribeye.

Yelp
I think this is my new favorite TX roadhouse location in the DSM area. Our server Noah was so attentive and friendly! He checked on us a lot and made sure our apps came out on time! Our Dallas filets came out perfect! It was tender and exactly the right temperature I wanted it. Wish I took a photo but there will definitely be a next time!

Yelp
Beware of foreign objects in your food. Ordered to go American cheese burger had a hard plastic object in it. Poked hole in my mouth. Burger was also well done when medium rare was ordered.

Yelp
The first time we stopped here, they told us it would be over an hour wait so we decided to try it again some other time. They told us about their call ahead seating or waitlist on their app so we tried that the second time around and that worked out much better. The app tells you how long the approximate wait will be so you can put your name on the waitlist and they tell you what time to show up by. That worked out great and we were seated not long after we showed up. My husband and I usually avoid chain restaurants as we feel like the food quality and flavors are usually lacking compared to locally-owned restaurants, but I had a gift card I won from work and wanted to use it up. We really liked that they gave us a basket of hot rolls and cinnamon honey butter to go with it. They tasted really great. I ordered the 12 oz. New York Strip steak and my husband got a slab of ribs. The entrees came with two sides. I got mashed potatoes and a house salad and my husband got apple sauce and mashed potatoes with gravy. The food was decent but there was nothing special about it. I will say, they did a great job of cooking my well done steak without it being hard or dried out but feel like I've had better steak at other places. My husband said his ribs were pretty good but they weren't as fall-off-the-bone tender as some he's had at other places we've been to. Plus, the sauce was kind of bland and not spicy. I was going to give this review three stars but we were both really impressed with the service so I added a 1/2 star. Our waitress came over several times to make sure everything was good and there wasn't anything we needed. Every employee we came in contact with was very friendly and really seemed like they wanted us to enjoy our meal. As we were leaving we passed by three different servers in different areas of the restaurant and they all thanked us for stopping in and wished us a good night. That is something you don't see in most chain restaurants. It was kind of loud in the restaurant but it's a pretty big place with a lot of people in it, so that's not unexpected. The prices are very reasonable for what you get but there wasn't anything noteworthy about the food to tempt me to come back. If you're looking for steak or ribs at a decent price and aren't super picky, you might enjoy this place. For me, I think I would rather stick by my local favorites.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. There is SUPER good service with constantly good food. So much to choose from! Would highly recommend.

Yelp
We always join the waitlist to get right in. Service is always great & pretty fast! I usually get the pulled pork dinner or the country fried chicken with white gravy on the side. All their sides are excellent! We love going here for a good comfort meal. In & out with full bellies within an hour! We frequent this location often. Check them out for yourself! Loud busy but friendly atmosphere.

Yelp
Monday Night Texas Roadhouse Birthday Dinner with family. It was pretty great! First timer here and didn't know what to expect. It was a packed restaurant for a Monday night 7:00pm. Ordered a couple 6 oz sirloins, Fort Worth Ribeye and a bone in ribeye. Asked for dairy free options and our server was very accommodating. Asked for bread to be without butter and they were happy to serve. Everything was delicious and cooked as expected. We asked our server how the chefs cook their steaks and she knew how to accommodate to our steak redness. Our server was very knowledgeable and excellent. The only part that could have used some work was the check out. It took 40 min to get checked out due to having to wait on our server to get back to us. Total for four adults was $107.xx before gratuity. They honor veterans discount! Other than that it was good.

Yelp
This restaurant cannot get a baked potato without burning it . The old potatoes we got with our meal should have to be eaten by the cook that served it. All the cooks have to do is not serve any item they would not eat themself or be proud serving to your grandmother.
google avatar

Jared B.

Yelp
Hard not to like Texas Roadhouse, the food is always good no matter what you're hungry for they have it, and the rolls and butter are the best! Service is always exceptional, sometimes it can get crowded if you have a big party but otherwise it's a go to favorite!

John L.

Yelp
The Texas Roadhouse in Johnston has gone way downhill.Servers that don't want to be there, slow service at 2:30 in the afternoon, and food only the flies like and there were plenty of flies . The baked potato my wife was served was not fit to eat . We spoke to the manager and he agreed the flies were bad and the potato was not for human consumption. He did remove 1/2our bill but the flies were worse than a picnic. Wow lots needs to be done to get better.

Yelp
Tim, the managing partner along with the staff we interacted with could benefit from additional training and customer service. We had physically challenged individual and they treated us like 2nd class citizens. I could never in good conscious reccomend this business. They are a black eye in the restaurant business. This incident took place on Saturday August 17th, 2024.

Yelp
Update review. Food this visit was cooked exactly as we had ordered. Server Cynthia was spot on and attentive.

Yelp
Service 5 Stars. I always receive excellent service at this chain. I was counting on my past experiences tonight. I was traveling for business alone. I hadn't eaten much for the last couple days while on the road and really wanted a good meal. I considered take out and eating in my hotel. Instead, I decided to go eat at the restaurant alone and sit with my anxiety and self consciousness as my dinner partner. I was seated at the end of the bar. The bartenders were so kind and attentive. I immediately felt welcome. The steak was perfect "medium." I'm so glad I decided to eat "in person" as a party of one. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Yelp
We'll we were welcomed into Texas Roadhouse sat with no rolls unlike normal even though we saw some ready. The server tried her best but our drinks were left empty and We finally got our food and I had a metal shaving that cut my mouth in my potatoes but we still got charged full price. Pretty disappointed and will be going to the Altoona location instead from here on out. The manager never spoke to us about the item in my food or even apologized about what happened.
google avatar

Rose T.

Yelp
We come out here often if we can make it early. The steaks are wonderful which is why it can be a challenge to get in. If you get there past five pm plan on waiting. We try to get there as close to 4 as possible, the rolls are fresh & hot. The staff are attentive & always have a smile. The Johnston location has fried mushrooms! As usual a great meal!

Brett S.

Yelp
I've visited this location several times for takeout orders. Always great food and service.

Yelp
Anyone who follows me knows that I love Texas Roadhouse. I like my steak a particular way, and Texas Roadhouse is very consistent everywhere I go. I always order their Bone-in Ribeye, Pittsburgh style (charred on the outside while the inside stays medium or rare). My coworkers and I sat at the bar and imagine my horror when I was told by the bartender that they do not do Pittsburgh style at this location because "they do not have the pan needed to that here". Wait, what? "Pan"? He said it with such confidence, and he was truly a nice guy, so I just ordered something else. I even showed him my previous photos from other TR locations, but he insisted they couldn't do it. We ate there 3 nights in a row. 2nd night, I just ordered their burger. Very good, but not what I really wanted. 3rd night, I just asked the waitress if she could ask the kitchen if they could do a Pittsburgh Style Ribeye for me, and she came back with a "sure, no problem!" Below was the result. I was too nervous to get the Bone-in, but it was delicious as always. TR, make sure your bartender knows what Pittsburgh Style is, please.

Yelp
I'm not sure what practices are done in the back as far as cleanliness, but I have found foreign objects in the rolls twice now in the last couple of years. We only really go once or twice a year, so I feel like that says a lot. The first time, there was a piece of a bag that the management said was from the flour bag they had cut open. The second time was a hair baked into the roll. I'm not too inclined to go back anymore. I get that it's busy and a major restaurant, but we go to other places and haven't had the constant issues like this restaurant.

Barry H.

Yelp
Good is great but this place is crazy busy! We always order take out and eat at home.

Yelp
Jacob was an amazing server, deserves a huge raise!!! One of the best server experiences I've ever had. Would 100% come back just for the service!
google avatar

Yelp
Jacob is awesome!!!!! He is the best server ever. He was very attentive and got us everything we needed. We love him!!! The food was good, too.

Yelp
We originally joined the wait list around 3:30 on a saturday, but then realized all of our party could not be there till 6, so I rejoined the wait list at around 5:20. When we arrived, the hostess was nice and found us on the list and said we would be the next big party to be seated, which was fine by us, we went and sat and waited like everyone else. Then when we are called to be seated, the Manager at the desk was snarky and rude, he told me..you cant join the list at 3 and then show up at 6 and expect to be seated! He said this to me in front of our whole party. I explained to him what I had did and that the app says if you change your mind on the time you do not have to do anything (as in, there was no option to cancel the earlier time). Just plain rude! I will not return, i was being called out for something out of my control, and I was perfectly nice with this man.

Yelp
First of all the employees at the establishment tried to seduce my friend( a division 1 baseball commit) with someone's Snapchat first of all when we walked in. An unattractive female In my opinion. They then proceeded to give me an underwhelming and under seasoned piece of meat. Not good really disappointed in you guys at Texas Roadhouse. It reminded me of when I lost my first ever fortnite win due to the storm. It absolutely killed my mood. All these things accumulate to one star in my book. Ribeye Steak freaking blows.
google avatar

Joe N.

Yelp
We waited for an hour to get cold food. The manager offered to "throw the steaks back on the grill". Absolutely not the one peace I eat was chewy already. What a joke.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Best Ribeye I've had for a long time. Sat at the bar. Staff was friendly and engaged. Sides (green beans with bacon and steamed broccoli were delicious). I'll go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Who can complain about this place?? Honestly, it's a solid stand in. The food is consistent - you know what you're getting when you walk into this place. Good steak, great sides, and let's be honest --- we're all here for the yeast rolls with their delicious sweet butter. I didn't hide a few in my jacket just so the server could bring another basket . . . or maybe I did. I've never had my steak cooked other than expected here. Know how to order your steak and you shouldn't have a problem. The servers do a great job of clarifying how you ordered the steak just in case you aren't sure. And isn't the random dancing in the restaurant just so much fun??? Honestly other chains do this too, but the servers actually look like they're having fun here. Cold beer, delicious steak, yeast rolls from heaven -- what else could be desired!?!

Yelp
Looking for an inexpensive steak dinner? This is a good option, but you'll likely need to be patient, lucky, or go during an off-time! We arrived around 5 PM on a Wednesday and were surprised at how busy they already were. We did get a table, but shortly after we arrived there was a wait to get in. Prices are very reasonable, and our service was very good - pleasant, efficient, and friendly. We were a group of 3 - my wife and I each got the 6 oz. sirloin, which as it turns out is part of the early dining special which we didn't even check out on the back page of the menu! It's a bargain at $8.99 for the steak; heck, at the regular price of $10.99 it's also a good deal. For our sides we had in total a baked potato, sweet potato, green beans, and corn, all of which were good - just what you'd expect. The other diner in our party got the 11 oz. sirloin, which he ordered rare. He was very pleased with the temperature of the steak. He got corn and steak fries, which he enjoyed. It had been a while since we'd been to a Texas Roadhouse, but they still have the hot, fresh rolls with the tasty honey cinnamon butter and with a bucket of in-shell peanuts on the table to munch on while you're waiting for your food. The atmosphere is a bit loud at times, especially when there is a birthday or a dance taking place, but it's all in good fun. There's something on the menu for almost everyone, and you can size out your steak to satisfy your appetite.
google avatar

Heidi H.

Yelp
Usually Texas road house is very consistent. I think they had an off night when we were there. We had a larger groyp (9)-granted they had just finished up a very large party. Our waitress was attentive. It took much longer than normal for our food to come out. Unfortunately when we did get our food it was cold. My steak had sat so long it was no longer juicy. All of us chose not to make a fuss and send our food back. We had waited a long time to get our food and just wanted to eat and go. The rolls we're great. I will definitely be back as usually they are spot on.
google avatar

Janice N.

Yelp
Good service, Ashley was our server. Music so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. Call ahead seating really didn't help, we did get seated about 45 minutes after our requested time. Waters and pop were kept filled, alcoholic drinks were very weak, mine was supposed to be made with Malibu, but you couldn't taste anything but OJ. I gave up after 2 tries. Meat was cut thick, even the 6oz sirloin was juicy and tender. House salad pretty good. Seems to attract a lot of older couples and young families which was fine. No bringing in Birthday cakes either. They don't offer much for appetizers or desserts either. We had a party of 18 split over 3 big booths. The seating is crammed together. The prices were cheap, I guess that's the draw, the warm rolls would be better with real butter.
google avatar

Yelp
Texas Roadhouse is one of my favorite chains, for one reason: consistency. There are certain things that I've come to expect when I walk into a Texas Roadhouse: Good service? Check. Good value? Check. Perfectly prepared steak? Well... this is the only place where I have to ding this restaurant. My 8 ounce sirloin was cooked medium rare, as I asked. But, they didn't give it a chance to rest before serving. All the steaks at our table had a pool of red juices underneath them, as all the juices started to spill out. This tells me that it wasn't just a mistake on my steak, but the way that they prepare steaks here. If it sounds like I'm making a big deal about one thing, consider that this is the absolute most important thing when I go to a steakhouse: the quality of the steak that I have. If I ever do come to this particular restaurant again, I'll ask if they can rest of the steak before they serve it.
google avatar

None Y.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend went here on his birthday 8/4/21, approximately 3pm. We got a couple of sirloin steak and shrimp combos, he got a long Island ice tea and I got the new keylime pie margarita. The next day after leaving the restaurant and a full day of fun we both got severely sick, I was on the toilet for a few hours I came down with a stomach illness along with my boyfriend as well! We were so sick and miserable must of been the stomach flu bad! So I came and left this review to let everyone know to be cautious and that we will not be returning here again to eat especially after spending 80 dollars with a bunch of left over we can't eat anymore and food poisoning.

Yelp
If you are looking for that All-American perfectly cooked steak that melts in your mouth AND affordable . . . Texas Roadhouse is the place! This place is usually packed with a long wait time . . . We visited on a Saturday around 2PM and was immediately seated, and the restaurant, to our surprise, was not overly loud like it normally is. I ordered the medium rare Prime Rib perfectly cooked and served with au ju and raw horseradish sauce . . . Delish!!! The entree came with 2 sides from a great list of options & soft tasty dinner rolls accompanied by honey butter . . . All for $17.99 and the meal was enough for two, which allowed for a wonderful leftover meal the next day! I also opted for the upsell of sauteed mushrooms and onions which were a bit on the salty side, but enjoyable. We also ordered the Cactus Blossom which was a delightful appetizer that can definitely be shared between 3+ hungry adults! If you are looking for amazing steak, Texas Roadhouse does not disappoint! Bon Apetit!

Sam F.

Yelp
There is no possibility of negative stars because id give it minus 5. Waited on call ahead for an hour then hour for order delivered to table to have the bone in rib eye well done when ordered medium rare. Took 22 minutes for new steak and refused it as rest of party was done eating. Manager offered to let me take home only to see she gave a partial discount on the dinner. BOGUS! I notified the server the kitchen messed with her income and left $1 tip ate the steak at home today and was completely no seasoning whatsoever. Des Moines needs a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse this is a joke. Id be better off driving to The Port at Lake Panorama

Paul F.

Yelp
So, I am a former Texas Roadhouse employee. I've worked at the Coralville and West Des Moines locations as a server, host, bartender and trainer. This was my first time to the Johnston location, and I gotta say, it was a slam dunk. The food was amazing, as it usually is at any TR. But our server was, simply put, one of the best servers I've had in a long time, anywhere, at any restaurant. Not just TR. His name is Mason and I cannot recommend him enough. He brought bread without having to be asked, he knew steak temps and had great knowledge of the menu, he kept drinks coming without needing to ask, he checked back within a few bites of our food coming and then let us enjoy our meal, he was check-ready so I didn't have to flag him down. In fact I never felt like I was looking for Mason. He was always visible, usually running food for other tables. He's a really hard worker. You can tell he appreciates his tables and even tables that are served by his coworkers. The icing on the cake was my fiancé was going to ask him for Togo bread and he basically finished her sentence for her. He was so on top of legit...everything. If I were his trainer, I'd be pretty dang proud. Mason, my dude, if you ever end up seeing this, you made an old Roadie proud today. YeeHaw man! Keep it up.

Yelp
Went in at 1130 on a Saturday. They were pretty busy already. We were seated right away, but they have a pretty big waiting area with seating. It looks like they must have expanded it, because I don't remember it being that big before. We were greeted by Agusta right away, and had drinks shortly after that. My god daughter had a Hurrican margarita and it tasted pretty darned good, better than my water. I ordered the 8oz sirloin, salad with honey mustard and green beans. The steak was cooked to my requested medium rare, green beans had good flavor, the salad has lots of good toppings on top. I didnt try the rolls, but they looked good. we split a pickle chips, not the best I've had but still good. Bathroom was in decent shape. they have paper towels and the door pushes out, so no need for a paper towel on the way out, scored bonus points there. Overall it was a good visit.

A G.

Yelp
5 of us sat at the bar and ordered drinks and food. Couple next to us was helpful with their favorites and menu tips. Staff at bar was great. Service was exceptional. The manager brought our food out and introduced himself and took the time check if anything else was needed. This was our first trip to Texas Roadhouse, but will be back next week. Steak was cooked as ordered and sides were perfect. Definitely a new favorite.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
Not sure what the point of call ahead seating is when you arrive at the appointed time and you still wait 45 minutes. Not Knowing that, service was good, appreciate all the Awesome rolls with the cinnamon honey butter. The staff is always kind always courteous and willing to go the extra step. Our server this evening was a nice young gentleman always checking up on us and making sure we had everything. Are usually get the same thing every time which is the beef tips with rice and there's always a favorite. My wife got the grilled Shrimp with steamed broccoli. She absolutely loves her meal too!
google avatar

Karrissa A.

Yelp
I will always love Texas Roadhouse. This location seems to run out of medium rare prime rib pretty quickly, so if you are going for prime rib I would advise getting there fairly early. But if you make it in time you can't beat TRH's delicious prime rib. All of the sides are top notch as well. If I am feeling really hungry I go with the loaded baked potato and the green beans that are swimming in delicious bacon juice. Service is always good and our server even let one of the guys in our group get a yeehaw on the saddle without it being his birthday. Also of Note: The traditional warm rolls with melt in your mouth cinnamon butter are to die for. I wish I could just wrap myself in the warm fluffy goodness and take a nap.

Linda P.

Yelp
WOW WOW WOW. Well five of us went yesterday bout 530. It was very busy, but we did call ahead waitlist. Got seated in a timely manner. We all had various steaks & prime rib. All our entrees were cooked to perfection. I also recommend the "loaded bake potato or sweet potato. Yummy. Great choice of margarita drinks. Was an ALL AROUND GOOOOOOD EXPERIENCE!!!!!

Yelp
Hair in my pickles! Excellent waitress! Horrible salad! Dirty silverware! Damnit man this place has gone downhill even my margarita tastes funny!!! Get it together roadhouse my steak has not came yet but it better be or I am going to be pissed!

Mr. M.

Yelp
It is ok I am under 18 and I can top a steak drone there I ask for medium but they gave me rare nice people but bad service would not recommend go to Montana mikes instead

Yelp
This was the 2nd time I had been here and I was not impressed. The server was not attentive at all and the food was uninspiring. My positive is I can say the food appears to be reasonably priced. The steak was cooked medium but I ordered it medium rare. They were way too crowded to send back so they could remake it. It took forever to get the food (45+ minutes and no apology) everyone who came after us was served well before us. Unacceptable, really. It is dirty in the restaurant. Tables go in bussed and the floors are filthy. The tables are very close to each other so it feels like you are dining with the neighboring tables. Not sure I will be rushing back anytime soon. It was far from a relaxing dinner out. I know that chain restaurants can do it right and not be sloppy like this...

Richard D B.

Yelp
Haven't been there for awhile , but met friends for dinner. Very busy place but the staff handled it well. Wait people very professional. All 3 of 4 in our party had some selection on steak--all great & cooked as requested. One had the shrimp & none left over. Green beans I had were awesome. I would get a double order next time. Definitely would go back.

Yelp
Well first of you don't disrespect my mother...it was my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary my mom had called ahead but apparently this joint doesnt take reservations so yeah when you show up you have to wait an ungodly amount of time... the POS place was packed at 4 and my mother HAD called ahead and the methed out blonde girl at the front desk was telling my mother who was dressed up for her 50th Wedding Anniversary that we couldn't be seated together and it would be 50 minutes and she was rude as hell disrespecting her saying well you should have called ahead... well Maybe Texas Roadhouse being it's familar self should take reservations for parties that are like 40 people... but apparently We weren't a large group? LMFAO!!! Sorry not sorry this bitch needs fired and a whole lot of coaching with this establishment. There were people that were there before us that see how treated my mother and they straight up walked out so let me ask you this... is that kind of shit acceptable? My sweet mother planned to this whole weekend for her family and dinner at this crap shoot of a restaurant just to be treated like garbage... my nor r and I were about to go to jail because you all dont know how to run a fucking business. Oh yeah, remember this cause it will go viral... #dontfuckwithfamily. Have a blessed day!

Yelp
I'm sorry, but no matter when I come the food is always good. Of course I don't switch it up to much but from the moment we walk in it's a up beat atmosphere, lots of food and pleasant people. Tonight the sirloin was spot on! Rare, perfect, fries extra crispy and bread with ranch delicious. Thanks for the leftovers! See ya next time.

It is chain restaurant, but it's one of my go to places for a decent priced steak meal. You can't beat a ribeye steak and two sides for 15.99! Plus the bread with cinnamon butter is delicious. Blooming onion is pretty good and cheap here too. Service has always been fast and consistent. Be prepared to wait if you come during dinner time.

Yelp
While the waitress was awesome, management is extremely poor. We called ahead two hours, and they sat 7 of us at a booth that was way too small. When we complained and asked to be moved, we were told we would be put back on the waiting list "at least a half hour wait," and we couldn't stay at the table, we would have to go back outside. There was not enough room for all of our plates to sit on the table. The entire time we were there, a round table big enough for all of us sat empty. Had to send food back multiple times due to not looking edible or being so gristly it could not be cut. The manager offered no discount with a glib half-apology. He had a smirk on his face when he told us to "have a nice day" as we were leaving. Worst experience at a Texas Roadhouse ever. Should have went to Iowa Beef Steakhouse - never had issues there.

Yelp
Eating at the restaurant is very good and I give five stars. Ordering to-go is a definite -0-stars. They're rude, disorganized, and my steak was actually raw in the middle. I ordered it medium which was supposed to be pink in the middle--and it was not only bright red, but blood had seeped out all over the baked potato. Gross. Cooked the steak to a medium and threw the blood-soaked potato away kind of an expensive meal!
