New Irving Tex-Mex Spot Serves Margaritas With A Side of Cultural Appropriation | Eater Dallas

"Located at the same site as the restaurant (501 West Las Colinas Boulevard), the questionably named Texican Court hotel adopts Mexican influences through vividly colored, serape‑patterned textiles and historic photos of what appear to be Mexican vaqueros in guest rooms, along with “Time for a Siesta” signs featuring a brown‑skinned cartoon man wearing a sombrero; those design elements are argued to veer from cutesy “try‑hard” territory into an offensive rip‑off of Mexican culture by turning cultural artifacts into a caricature of Mexican heritage. A press release, however, frames the property as Spanish mission‑style architecture with a subtle layer of Texas, calling it a unique blend of Mexican and Lone Star State cultures." - Alaena Hostetter

Texican Court, Irving (Irving, Texas) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"America’s classic mid-century courtyard motels have long been fertile ground for renovation, and in the Valencia Hotel Group’s hands they’re inspiration for modern luxury boutique hotels as well. Texican Court, in the Dallas suburb of Irving, replaces the central parking lot with inviting outdoor lounge space, and upgrades the rooms with contemporary design and high-end details. Two Mules Cantina serves classic Tex-Mex cuisine in a lively indoor-outdoor space, while the hotel’s beer garden features live music on the weekends, and the Salt Tequila Bar is just what it sounds like, serving tequila tastings alongside margaritas and other cocktails." - Tablet Hotels

We absolutely loved our stay at the Texican Court! The whole place nails that balance of stylish but not pretentious. The room was spotless, thoughtfully designed, and full of charming details — including a retro Smeg fridge stocked with a surprisingly reasonable and high-quality mini-bar. The courtyard was an unexpected highlight: cozy seating everywhere and a large fire pit that staff lit for us while we were relaxing outside — such a perfect touch. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy making guests feel welcome. We ordered room service from the on-site restaurant and were blown away — truly some of the best Tex-Mex we’ve had. (We’ll probably write a separate review just for the restaurant!) Even though the weather kept us from enjoying the pool, it was gorgeous — definitely a place we’d love to lounge next time. The location in Irving felt upscale but relaxed, super clean, and close to plenty of amenities. We were right across from a very cool, modern convention center — great design and a fun backdrop. Considering the design, comfort, amenities, and overall vibe, Texican Court feels like a great value. It’s perfect for couples or groups who want something unique, comfortable, and a little bit special. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is full of personality—in the best way. Texican Court has a fun, vintage-meets-modern aesthetic that makes the stay feel unique from the moment you check in. The retro touches like the orange SMEG fridge in the room (fully stocked like a mini bar on steroids) and the bold decor choices give it a cool, slightly quirky vibe without ever feeling forced. The room was super clean and thoughtfully designed, with comfy beds, cozy lighting, and a layout that felt more homey than hotel-y. There’s a mix of rustic and retro throughout, from the saddle leather chair to the sliding barn door to the bathroom. Loved the extra details like the wine setup on the desk and the little snack stash—great for a relaxed night in. The outdoor hallway setup with rocking chairs outside each door gave it almost a motel-style charm, but in a more elevated way. It felt peaceful at night, and the rocking chairs were a perfect touch for winding down. The gym is clean, well-lit, and stocked with everything you’d need for a quick workout: treadmills, bikes, free weights. Overall, Texican Court nails that boutique hotel experience—stylish, comfy, and memorable. Great for a casual weekend getaway or even a staycation if you’re local. Would absolutely stay again.

This hotel is a gem for my colleague and me who were there for work from out of state - the Texas theme is so cute! You feel like you are entering a Texas ranch at first, and the facade looks like the Alamo. You get a bottle of Lone Star beer upon checking in and are immediately taken by the charm of the decor. My favorite spots are the open courtyard with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables in front of the huge brick fireplace. A great place to unwind with a cocktail or lounge with a book. The pool is gorgeous though I didn’t use it. The fitness room was super clean and welcoming, with fresh towels, cold water, and a big screen TV. It was empty every day I went and had your typical cardio machines and weights - just enough for an after work workout. The rooms were big and the bathrooms have barn doors and custom bathrobes to use. A full-sized fridge was a nice touch though I wish I had a microwave. Plenty of mini bar drinks and snacks if you want them, fluffy towels, and comfy bedding. I LOVE the rocking chairs outside of the doors! One thing I wish I knew was that they have a shuttle that will take you within like a mile of the hotel, since I used Lyft to go to the nearby restaurants (close, but it’s NOT a walkable area with the busy streets). I highly recommend this hotel for business or personal travel.

This spot is so freakin' cute, y'all! My wife and I stopped in for our layover and from arrival, the vibes were immaculate. The entrance has a gazing pool illuminated by soft flickering light posts (would attach the video if I could!) And soft, white stucco walls that feel cozy. The intentionality extends into the front desk area, with a terracotta pot wall installation, a large bookcase behind the concierge, a lighted accent table, and a metal hammered lighting panel that looks like a starry night. The courtyard, chapelito, and room was adorably retro with details that fit the theme perfectly. I forgot to get pictures of the room (again, videos), but loved the Smeg fridge, pocket barndoors for the bathroom, and wooden wardrobe. The hexagonal white and black bathroom tile spelled "TX" in front of the sink - nothing was overlooked here! We had a lil mishap that was courteously handled by both the evening and morning front desk staff, not worth expanding upon because of how kind and responsive they were. Even though we missed last call at the Two Mules Cantina, Bar Louies was catty-corner to us at a 2-3min walk. Dj was bumping 80s rnb mixes with a house feel. We wanted to stay again for our layover this weekend but there's no vacancies this time - rightfully so! Texican is too dope to gatekeep; we hope y'all dig it as much as we did!

Google
had an incredible stay at Texican Court. Jasmine, Jennifer, Yesenia, Austin, and the whole team were welcoming, thoughtful, and made everything easy from the moment I arrived. The property has a relaxed, boutique feel — stylish rooms, comfortable beds, great outdoor spaces with fire pits and a pool. Every interaction felt genuine. The staff went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Two Mules Cantina was excellent for both drinks and food, and the location made it simple to get around DFW while still feeling tucked away. If you’re looking for a place with character, comfort, and a staff that truly cares, Texican Court is outstanding. I’ll definitely stay here again.

Google
We book with The Texican each time we attend an event at the Toyota Music Factory (within walking distance from the hotel) or any need we have in this area! This was our third time booking with them and have never been disappointed. The staff is top notch, always so kind and helpful, never had an issue with our reservation and the rooms are always clean and inviting. They have a great courtyard for evening visits and a fire in the outdoor fireplace. Such a cozy place. Always a favorite stay! You do have a separate pay-to-park qr to scan, not included in your reservation if you choose not to valet, so be aware and take care of that so you don't get a fee but the cost is reasonable. Parking is available around the building so you are always near a keyed-entry door close to your room. Also, they have a neat little shop in the concierge office with unique gifts/finds to purchase as a reminder of your great stay as well as a small bar, restaurantthat is terrific and even a coffee shop we finally tried, this time. It was great, as we expected!

Google
Absolutely loved the place! Came here for a concert with my bestie for two days and had a blast. The bedrooms were clean and VERY COMFORTABLE. Slept so good. Customer service was amazing, Tate was sooo sweet and accommodating. 10/10 WILL be returning. Location was very walkable, there were plenty restaurants near the area. 8 min walk minimum. Patio was nice and clean, with a couple of activities you can do. Lastly, I would definitely recommend the onsite restaurant (Two Mules) food was to dieeeee for, and Leti had great recommendations and was also very accommodating. Recommend getting the Tater Totes.

Google
A stone's throw away from Toyota Music Factory. This hacienda style hotel brings memories of staying in O'le Mexico but with a luxury twist. The reception area will blow your mind, as guests can just chill in the area and drink coffee and socialize. As you enter the property, there is a pool area to your right and then the Two Mules Cantina and play area which makes this an all in one vacation stay. Very quiet and pleasant with a vibey crowd. This alone is an experience one has to go through in order to appreciate the intricate design of this property. The rooms themselves have a unique design, and the decor brings you closer to self. The rooms have a large bathroom with a huge showerhead where you can enjoy showers with no limits. They have the most comfortable and cleanest beds. Watch out for the fridge and inroom bar as it is easy to rack up a huge bill. The variety of drinks from liquor, energy drinks, water and snacks will make you not wanna leave your room. This is a must visit romantic getaway property where we will always be coming back from the experience.

Yelp
Great time in Dfw Texican Court. This was super cute hotel that had a vintage feel to it. Pretty nice and whoever did the renovations hit the time period right on. Upon check in, they offered a beer - Lone Star. The courtyard looked like an old school motel, even the pool but upon closer inspection you could see it was new. The rooms were very nice. I had a room on the second floor (236) and it had the cutest decor, a full refrigerator but it was old school. The lamps and couches were also period pieces. The restroom and shower had subway tiles and fake shutters in the vanity area. The bed was plush and comfortable. They did not skimp on the mini bar. It was a mini bar to end all mini bars. They had bottled water, energy drinks, beer and lots of mini bottles of alcohol and soft drinks. They also had a fully stocked snack tray. All of this was for purchase of course. They had wine with wine glasses in case you wanted it. Outside, they had cornhole, a fire pit and Adirondack chairs for relaxation. The courtyard was lit like daytime so even at night you could use it. Valet parking was 18.00 per day and self parking was 16.00 and around the corner. The conference space was nice too. They had 2 restrooms and the food was really good. We had Mexican buffet on Thursday for lunch. The roasted chicken was ok but the steak fajita was cooked perfectly, very tender. We had rice, beans and soup with chips and salsa. We had a snack break with some of the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever had. Nice sized and really chocolaty. Friday: full breakfast of eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon with biscuits. For lunch was sandwiches. Check out can be done online. I went back to my room at 1155 to get my stuff and was already locked out. I went down and they were able to restore my room key. You also need to request your car online.

Yelp
I love when hotels ask, "what's your floor preference?" And they give you to the best room they have available. YES!!!! Such awesome relaxing desert vibes. We loved our room and all the beautiful tiles, personal touches, cleanliness, and how comfortable the bed was. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. We're from LA, and we're not looking forward to visiting Dallas but this hotel made it worth it. Thanks for having us! BEST part is you can take the orange line to and from the airport for just $3!!! The stop is Irving convention center!

Yelp
Great location, West Texas artsy decor, friendly service... and within our corporate budget - I'm a fan. I normally don't like the motel-style hotel stays for work trips, no matter how recent the reno. (It's more for safety reasons. I like the extra sense of security knowing there's always going to be an attendant or security in the front lobby.) But, given the proximity to my work event and it being a quick trip, I was game to check out the Texican Court. First impression: friendly valet staff and check-in experience. They accommodated my early check-in with no issue. While I waited, I grabbed a matcha latte from the cafe/tequila bar. The rooms, as previously mentioned, offers a retro West Texas vibe. It had all the basics needed-good bath products, robe, iron, desk, TV, fridge, coffee maker, and snackies. The hotel has an onsite restaurant, pool, firepits, gym, elevators, and apparently they host weddings and special events. For me, the biggest room for improvement is installing water refill stations. I kept going to the gym to refill my water bottle.

Yelp
I can safely say this is my favorite hotel brand. I have stayed at every hotel in their brand and they are so consistent and helpful. When you walk in you are whisked away to old town Texas. The room is clean and unique. There are so many great places to sit and hang out while sipping on a fantastic cocktail. You can't go wrong with a stay at this great property.

Yelp
Ambiance: Trendy hotel in the Dallas area that is dog-friendly and perfect for enjoying a long weekend (or week!) away! We loved our stay at The Texican Court when we went to visit a friend in Dallas. We had to bring one of our dogs and she thoroughly enjoyed herself! There was an additional pet fee, however it came with a water bowl & toys. The fridge is stocked incredibly well with additional items to purchase during your stay. Comfy beds & clean room/bathroom. The entire property is well-decorated and fun to peruse. I highly recommend this hotel & we plan to stay again! It's artsy, a large open outdoor area for hanging out or playing games, and there's lots to do onsite.

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here, they are very accommodating, I was able to sit by my porch, smoke & sit by fire place. They have snacks in room & drinks so you don't have to inconvenience yourself. I love that & their food down at the restaurant is actually pretty good. Fair warning the beans usually have pork down here in case you don't eat pork. Very cute place & I loved it. Very texas style

Yelp
My partner and I have stayed here 5-6 times since 2019 and have had a solid experience every time. We like the style/vibe of the building, rooms and decor. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and having snacks and drinks in the room is a nice addition, even if they're an additional cost.

Wayland B.

Yelp
We liked our room but didn't like the charges for consuming two items from the minibar located in the room . We were charged $19.84 for a pkg of cookies ( 2 cookies in a pack ) and a small orange juice . Add in the other charges such as tax and minibar tax there you have it . The sign posted in the room displayed $5.00 for a pack of cookies and not the $10.00 they charged . We were made aware of this via email after checking out .

Yelp
Definitely the best bang for the buck, amazing staff, everyone really cares, so refreshing. Food was great, all rooms have full refreshments, with different prices, for different items. Everything is easy to find, and just makes sense. Would definitely stay again, and recommend highly!

Yelp
Busy weekend in Dallas with SMU family weekend and TAMU vs Arkansas so all the usual hotels downtown or near SMU were $$$$$. Decided to try Texican as I found on Priceline for $$ and saw it was part of Texas boutique chain Valencia Group, which has nice properties in San Antonio, Austin, College Station and Lubbock. This location is right across from Irving Convention Center in Las Colinas. Location is great if flying into DFW, Love Field or working or visiting Las Colinas area. Still not too far if visiting Dallas proper as it is about 12 miles. Love the free parking in adjacent lot. Hotel is laid out like an old school motor inn with rooms surrounding pool and open area with fire places and plenty of outside seating. Great for families as things for kids to do. Still fine for business or folks with no kids. Full service Mexican restaurant on site serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also nice bar near entrance and in the restaurant, which has entertainment on the Friday and Saturday we were there. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, with comfy bed and fully stocked refrigerator. We liked and will be back. The only negative was a couple of the front desk people who were disengaged. Never can understand why to go to all the trouble to build such a fine place and hire the wrong people at the front desk to interact with guests. They weren't rude or incompetent, just not too into their job.

Mark F.

Yelp
Great place to be, fantastic friendly staff and management, great food and bar and service. I live out of town now and I really miss the vibe.

Mia R.

Yelp
Wow, I was so impressed! This place is amazing, so rich with Western and Mexican culture. The decor is so tasteful and the staff were fantastic. Every person I met had a smile and held such a high standard of hospitality. Was it pricey? Yes, but worth every penny. 10/10 would stay here again. P.S. the Paloma is fantastic! Also the live band on Saturday nights is so nice to have.

Barbara M.

Yelp
I chose Texican Court first for proximity to Las Colinas, second for reasonable price, and third sheer curiosity. The Texican did not disappoint. The room decor and outdoor ambiance are adorable. I loved the orange Smeg fridge, the comfy bed, hot & strong shower, and ease of check-in. Communication with staff was easy and clear. Everything smells wonderful, so much so that I had to purchase a signature scent candle! The pet policy is a huge plus, though I didn't use it this time. The barn door on the bathroom is cool, but as someone who is up in the night, I'd be concerned about the door making noise when opening & closing if I was sharing the room. The 5G was only at 1 bar, so I couldn't use many things on my phone. There is free, unsecured WiFi, but I prefer not to use an unsecured network. Based on other reviews, I had some concern about being billed for mini bar items I did not use, so I took pictures at check-in and when I left. There an expansive selection of treats and locations. My bill did not have any spurious charges, so that proved unnecessary. Shiner and Lone Star were great additions! Parking is valet $15 per night plus taxes and gratuity. The attendants are extremely helpful and conscientious. I especially liked the QR code for tipping and personal message from the housekeeping staff. Overall, amenities are great, staff is outstanding and price is fair. I will definitely return. Looking forward to trying the restaurant and tequila bar on return trips!

Yelp
We enjoyed this place for many reasons. The atmosphere was so inviting, friendly staff and clean rooms. A little pricey, but for the 2 of us it's perfect. The pool has a bar and loud music, perfect! 10/10
google avatar

Diego G.

Yelp
It was evident from the moment we pulled up we had chosen a special place to stay. The valet out front were super cordial and willing to help. The front desk offered a complimentary cold beer upon check in. The vibe of the place was like some rustic cowboy ranch in old Mexico. They had dozens of places to lounge in an artificial turf open courtyard that also has an enormous fireplace for cool nights. The staff was always super helpful and polite, the restaurant/bar had decent food and good drinks with great bar staff. It was early April so I didn't get in the pool but it looked like the place to be come summertime. Restaurants and bars are within walking distance and I absolutely recommend this place to anyone whether your there with your family or a guys/girls trip, they're accommodating to everyone!

Yelp
This hotel stands as a stark visual icon of the Texas ranch past and present amongst a sea of gleaming modern buildings, with the latter occupied by fortune 500 companies. The City of Irving is proud of this hotel as it serves as a site for authentic, rustic, true Texan official events. We were fortunate to attend a travel writers' conference at this hotel. The staff and service are superb: friendly, helpful, thoughtful, and efficient. The conference facilities are suitable for smaller groups in a more intimate setting. The Toyota Music Factory is across and up the street, about two blocks away. Valet parking is available, and there are plenty of self-park spaces. Outdoor courtyards span multiple buildings and create an inclusive, embracing environment for guests. A unique orange-and-white scheme of accents is found throughout the facility, as are other color accent schemes that invoke the fantasy/reality (depending on your perspective) of a retro Texas ranch look and feel. This place is definitely worth booking if you visit Irving. Check it out.

Yelp
Courtyard is great. Live music. Very eclectic hotel. Love everything! Staff was super friendly especially the front desk gal London!!! Only problem was multiple issues with reservations out of their central booking team.

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Not a bad spot if you have an event at the convention center. It's across the street and is clean. The restaurant has very good food and margaritas but the food menu is quite small. Surprised they don't have a single steak on the menu. Also can't believe they are across from a convention center and have no business center. Then if you need copies you have to send an email to the front desk and only prints in black & white. Someone didn't think this through and still isn't for some reason. Rooms have cold concrete and tile floors. The Westin is across the steeet and a much better choice.

Yelp
S T A Y C A T I O N - - all i ever wanted (: okay, so decided to splurge a bit & do a "smores glamping" package here for a surprise staycation for me & my lover. it was AWESOME. the customer service was great all the way through. i had a lot of stuff to unload from my car to decorate the room and parking was extremely far from the entrance, so thankfully, they allowed me to pull in front with my hazards on while i unloaded all of my balloons, rose petals, etc. they do offer valet, but it's not really necessary. the room was super spacious and the bathroom was MASSIVE. my love is over 6' & the shower wall was still taller than him & was extremely big. the decor gave texas meets 70's. it was the cutest thing ever. the fridge was well-equipped with several different alchy options (mini-bar) and they had snacks on the table & a menu to give pricing. i had already purchased champagne bottles previously, so we only used a couple beers. the package also came with a smores kit & a bunch of cards that were loaded with money for free food & drinks at one of their restaurants on campus. the food was good. I've had better, but what do you expect from tex-mex. there was a live performer, so that was a vibe. the drinks were pretty good as well. i love that they have pre-packaged ice bags in a cooler for you to grab & take to your room. the firepits were such a nice vibe, but i'd recommend enjoying in the fall & not the middle of summer like muah. you're going to sweat like crazy. the pool can get overcrowded really quickly & is not spacious enough to accommodate everyone who's staying there at once. they have a DJ at the pool as well, cute touch. it was pretty pricey for our one-night staycation, but i'd definitely stay here again. super cute time. I'm planning to post an IG reel of the entire time there, so find me on IG to see that soon (shutthefrontdior)

Yelp
HYPE ISN'T HYPE, IF IT'S ALL TRUE! Thanks to an amazing management team & staff, The Valencia Experience is one you won't soon forget, and will keep you coming back for more. Perhaps there are fancier, and larger names in hospitality, however the Valencia Hotel Group's friendly approach to relaxation, fun and detailed accommodations, sets them apart from the rest. The moment you arrive to the hacienda style courtyard of the Texican or other Valencia Hotel Collection properties, you, family and friends will exhale, and smile. Their reception, which effortlessly wears many hats, from Boutique, featuring local Artisans, to comfortable lounging, and work space, allows front desk agents such as Julie to extend you, and your fur babies the feeling of home from the first hello. No matter if your budget is conservative or a little more flexible, wonderful accommodations await, including Presidential, and Deluxe Junior Suites. A true staycation experience can be enjoyed by all, thanks to their wonderful amenities which include, Two Mules Restaurant, Salt Tequila Bar, a cozy pool, true pet friendly spaces appointed with fire pits and assorted patio furnishings, and a nicely equipped gym, all steps away from the Toyota Music Factory, and other fun Las Colina's venues. Another treat for valued guest is VHG Rewards that immediately elevates your experience; so sign up today! Easily, one of my new favorites, so you'll definitely see me enjoying the Texican Court often. Start planning your good times, because I promise to share individual reviews of each Valencia property. Yelp
Really liked this place. It had to take a day before I realized it. Driving up, this place really looked like a motel 6 or a super 8. Until you really looked deeper. Walked in and checked in. They offered me a beer! Never had that experience. The facility is more like a smokehouse or BBQ feel? Yes, feels like a picnic. Rooms were really cool. The balcony floor were wood. Restaurant was excellent. Even though I did not use it. The pool looked very nice. The fridge was full of beer and hard liquor. There was some soft drinks also. A basket of snacks. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. A quick business trip turned into a very relaxing trip.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. It's like a supped up motel. Fancy hotel give but with a Texan flair. We ate and drank at the restaurant bar. We sat by the fire and talked for hours with a cold drink from a second bar on the property. Sat in our room with another drink from our fully stocked retro fridge in our fancy serape robes. Just super cool vibes all around! Will definitely come back. They have other properties around the state that we are looking into as well.

Yelp
I stayed here during my trip to Dallas and the hospitality was through the roof. John was so accommodating and made me feel so welcome, he gave me so many good local recommendations. Impeccable service. 5 stars best marg in the city thank you john! Highly recommend.

Yelp
The texican court is a neat hotel near the convention center. It is unique with its theming and I hope they don't change to fit in with the normal hotel models that are popping up all over as this area builds up more and more. I ended up visiting with some friends who stayed there during a convention we all had met up at. The rooms are cute and well themed to the overall theme of the hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful with most issues within their control. The courtyard was a nice place to sit and hang out, especially with the fire pit going. The issues we've seen happen though are some big ones. The one that the hotel itself can take care of: Both times I tried getting a room here, a week or so later I find out they had issues with their system and over booked. The first year that happened, I am happy to let pass because its a big convention. The second time it was crazy that many people ended up being canceled again. Folks are not going to want to try booking with that hotel again if that issue continues. Issues out of their control but are worth noting: With my friends stays there was a stabbing right outside of the hotel the Friday night, where the person that stabbed themselves had been chasing guests of the hotel. As well cars were broken into on Sunday during the day & Sunday night. As well as some other issues, which I don't want to say is a problem with the hotel itself but possibly with the area ... but the big issue with that was folks who stayed at neighboring hotels didn't have the same issues.

Yelp
While staying at Texican Court, I was part of a business group, so I utilized rooms, conference center, restaurant and off site catering. Perhaps high 70s and pleasant made the courtyard more inviting. Overall everything at the Texican worked for our business outing. A brief walk across the street is the Toyota Music Center.

David R.

Yelp
I enjoyed staying here. Beautifully decorated inside and out. Perfect place for couples and friends trip. Only negatives is the staff entering my room unannounced and poor food quality at the restaurant on site. If you want a boutique hotel over the boring institutional chain hotels, book a stay at the Texican. Eat outside of the hotel and keep your night latch on as an easy fix for my negatives.

Amy T.

Yelp
This is by far the best hotel I've stayed at in Dallas So many great amenities Cornhole /restaurant / live bands/ boutique and lots more The rooms ... OMG! The cutest. Whoever was the interior designer was they did an outstanding job. When you get in your room they have lots of snacks you can purchase in your room and the fridge is fully stocked. Highly recommend

Yelp
I was booked here for a work meeting, and when I first got here, I was surprised that it was a essentially a motel. I had a room facing the pool, and thought that this would be a great place to hang with a big group. There are rocking chairs outside, fires going with fun chairs, corn hole, lounging pull... the rooms have comfy robes. My co-worker ended up buying one for about $45?! When you check in, there is a fridge in the lobby, feel free to grab a beer or water when you get in. I also borrowed a bike and explored a little bit by the Toyota Music Factory. It's only a 5 min walk, but it was fun to go around... also the croissants and tea at breakfast were great!

Yelp
This place is one of a kind, it's absolutely beautiful and feels as if your in another land. It is small and quant but in a perfect way. I love the check in and bar area. I love that they give you a check in beverage and even drink credits for certain rooms. I had to come back and give an update on a few issues we had. We had a major issue at check in where they overbooked. We had booked a deluxe king size rm and they tried to put us in a double rm that wasn't delux which you pay more to upgrade. I was not happy as we drove in from oklahaoma for my husbands birthday and are staying from Wednesday through Sunday. Well after quite a long time of waiting and the front desk calling the manager we did get it resolved. With that being said I didn't want to write anything negative about such a beautiful place. However, we there were a couple other issues that really kind of set the decision that we would not come back. 1.) The sight says this place has a pillow menu, it does not. They have feather pillows which hurt both of our necks so I asked if we could get 2 more pillows that may be a little firmer. They said they would send right down but never did. We left to go shopping for the day and came back late that night and still no pillows, also when we got back one of the pillows we had was gone so someone had been in our room to at least get that one which is weird. The next day I asked the cleaning lady and she said they only had two kinds, feather and foam both soft, sorry but that's not a pillow menu, maybe you should check with the Omni down the street. 2.) The restaurant ( if that's what you want to call it) two mules has awful service. I would have ordered more drinks had I not had to get up from our table of waiting 10 minutes for 1 of 3 wait staff who was, leaned up against the wall, to go get my own drink at the bar. I tried to order the most simple resort drink there is....pina colada and mojito but they said the my couldn't make it and didn't even have a blender, lol, what????!!!! The food is ok but definitely nothing to write home about. 3.)Friday we went to the almos draft house to see a movie and got back about 11:30pm and both bars and restaurant were closed....what???! This place is right by a big entertainment district why would it be shut down early on a Friday night? Went to the restaurant about 3:15p and it's closed from 2-4pm. And the other bar does not open til 3pm. So between 2-3 u can't even get a drink of any kid....not even a dr. Pepper but no vending or ice machines. Who is managing this place? 4.) we left this morning (Saturday) for breakfast and came back to a clean room. This afternoon I'm sitting at pool and my husband is inside lounging watching football and a cleaning staff walks straight into the room while he was laying there and not fully clothed. Why? They cleaned the room this morning and why would she not knock first at least? The mini bar/snack issue still is not fixed and no pillows have ever been brought, we have been here since Wednesday and it's now Saturday. This resort could at least be a 4 star because it's different and beautiful but please fix issues like this. A good resort is a nice place to sleep but a great resort pays attention to detail!

Yelp
Super cute and cozy place to stay for a couples weekend getaway! They have it all, whether you're staying in or going out to explore, there's lots to do within walking distance. We purchased the date night package which included vouchers for and app and 2 drinks at their restaurant, we got complimentary beers and waters once we checked in and had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting in the room once we got there. The room was super Clean and the bed was super comfy. Pillows and comforter were down feathers (extra cushiony). The food at the two mule cantina was also good (dinner and breakfast buffet). We'll definitely be going back to try the fire pits and s'more making experience next time.

Yelp
If I'm ever in Texas again, I would only stay here! Staff were super friendly and very cooperative. The room was amazing and exceptionally clean. Recommended!

Yelp
The best hidden boutique hotel! Great location to the Toyota Music Factory. (Easily Walkable) The ambiance of this hotel really makes it! The bottom floor rooms have concrete flooring and the second floor and up have carpet. The food in the cantina is pretty pricey for the amount and quality received. I would recommend sticking with just the drinks and heading to the Toyota Music Pavilion for better restaurant options.

Yelp
The cutest Texas boutique hotel! We will be back. Super comfy, laid back, easy check in, upscale but chill, and fabulous dinner menu and drinks at the cantina. Loved the loaded Smeg fridge and snacks in the room as well. Super easy walk to the convention center! The only downside was the breakfast buffet and breakfast waitstaff. We were expecting great quality and choices... but, Definitely not the same quality as the dinner food, and the staff was in another world at breakfast. Otherwise, perfect stay! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Enjoyed this cute little hotel! Check in/out was easy. Staff all around seemed nice and helpful. Breakfast provided was good, Brunch menu options better. Happy Hour on the covered patio was nice. Didn't hop in but the pool was clean and always busy. Gym space was perfect. Rooms are the cutest and as pictured online. (We had an inside room on the 1st floor, which I think would be my preference unless on a higher floor) Mentioned it was my fiancés birthday and they left a sweet treat in our room (greatly appreciated that!). Valet is available (decent price) however self parking is free, close and convenient. Not too far from Dallas, and there are plenty of restaurants/bars/shopping options within walking distance (less than a mile or so away).

Yelp
It's the little things that make the difference. I travel a lot for work and stay in a lot of different hotels. As far as chains go Marriotts are hard to beat for me. I thought I would take a chance with this hotel and I'm so glad I did. It's got a very nostalgia look to the outside but very modern inside. You can tell from the pictures how quaint it is. Some of the little details that they pay attention to are soft toilet paper and Kleenex tissues Like most of keep in our home. Also they don't use a water saver in the shower. You get plenty of pressure and it's very roomy. Also during the coronavirus they put out a very nice continental breakfast with yogurt, pastries, granola, fresh fruit and plenty of coffee. In dealing with the staff they've been very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Love the retro motel vibe this place offers! Kudos to the design team! Checking in and out was a breeze - the complimentary beer offered at checkin was a nice plus after being on the road all day. When we first arrived there was a bit of yelling from an unruly guest on the third floor who was clearly upset about something or drunk, but afterwards it was a pretty quiet night. Might be a different story in warmer months since the courtyard was empty due to the chilly weather. Beds were comfortable and dinner from the attached restaurant, Two Mules Cantina, was excellent. One of the few places I've found serving sopapillas! Will definitely stay here again if passing through. They're pet friendly too!

Yelp
UPDATE 4/28/22: After being charged $142 in mini bar charges for things we did not consume I'm downgrading my review from a 4- to a 3-star rating because of the experience. I received no notification/invoice for the incremental charge on my account and am currently working with Texican Court to resolve matters. My best advice is: 1) if your room door is ajar upon check-in REFUSE the room and ask for a different one and 2) take pictures of the room and mini bar upon check-out - it's pretty much all you can do without a room walkthrough. ~ ~ ~ Overall I felt the hotel amenities and overall aesthetic were delightfully outstanding but in comparison that the employee service was sub par / a total mismatch. Examples: 1) At checkout instead of asking "how was everything" the front desk said "are you ready to check out?" Hmmm. Sure. Context: When we arrived the door to our room was ajar (not locked - I just pushed it open). I was going to mention this at checkout but given the disinterest I was just ready to leave. 2) I respect that the kitchen closes before the Cantina does but we were starving having arrived around 10:30 PM from out of town after a long day of traveling for a funeral the next morning. We begged the manager for some chips or anything to eat. He explained the kitchen was closed but that he would see if he could dig-up some chips (no salsa) which he did. He dropped off the chips and we devoured the chips and that was that. The rest of the 3 rounds of drinks we were there he sat in a chair on his phone. Maybe it's me but it was rather disappointing experience I would expect at Taco Bell. In retrospect I feel like there should be a Texican SnackPack or something to offer guests at any time. It doesn't have to be a home cooked meal or anything fancy (trail mix, cookies, a banana etc.) but something that shows "you understand the challenges of travel" and I would expect people would be willing to pay for this option. The tequila bar was open until 11 and I find it odd that tequila can be served with nothing to eat and 300 feet away the Cantina is #gameover, with no munchables - only drinkables - until 12 PM. Despite my disappointment with the service the hotel experience was thoughtfully appointed and this is definitely not a breakup!

Yelp
I'm a regular at this restaurant and bar cause I live in the area. Shout out to Edgar the bartender. He goes above and beyond to make my experience awesome. The motel is amazing place to stay.

Yelp
I would give this place a few more stars if they had late check out times for people who have arrived in the middle of the night. I've been here for a mere 7 hours and have to leave in 30 minutes. I also noticed there is no hair dryer in my room and i have called twice to see when I can get one so I don't have to go to the airport with soaking wet hair. I also did NOT use the mini bar in my room for anything yet they charged me an extra $30 on my credit card. I took photos before I left that hotel in case this happened because I saw a few reviews that said they got charged for unused items as well. It's unfortunate because I really enjoyed that hotel but I will never stay there again due to shady business etiquette. Still waiting for a response from Jessica to refund

Yelp
Plus: Check in was nice and easy. Hotel staff was friendly. Lounging by the pool was great! Drawbacks: We had to switch rooms because of a lizard intrusion. Second room wasn't as nice as the first room and was on the 3rd floor when we had requested the 1st floor. Also, we tried to order room service at 9:15 and was told the kitchen was already closed. Overall an ok visit.

Yelp
I was very pleasantly surprised with Texican Court! After a few hairy experiences with hotels lately, I kept my expectations low on a recent weekend trip to the Dallas area. As soon as I walked in to the lobby of the Texican Court, I knew I had just discovered a gem of a hotel! The check-in process was smooth, and we were given complementary soft drinks and water from the super-cool vintage fridge in the lobby! Our room was on the first floor, near the parking lot and one of the fire pits, and we didn't hear anything at all! Speaking of the room, it was beautiful: clean, comfortable and styled in a vintage, Southwestern/Texan style. There was a fridge stocked with drinks for purchase, but you could also stash your own in there. The room was well-appointed, with polished concrete floors, a beautiful airy bathroom (with colorful robes provided), a large walk-in shower, sitting area and comfy bed. The pool area had lots of lounge chairs and tables, and there were pool towels available. There are also pool loungers..which I love! The service was terrific...from everyone at Two Mules and the Tequila Bar to the front desk and housekeeping staff. The food at Two Mules was great (try the Brisket Frito Pie...it's large enough to share...and the Queso Flameado)! I've been trying to find more excuses to drive back to Irving so we can stay at the Texican Court...but we might just drive up JUST to stay here again! Thanks for the great stay!

Yelp
We booked two rooms here for an event happening next year. I called the hotel and spoke with two different people to book the rooms. One was to book both rooms, one was to register our animals. Their reservation system couldn't handle the amount of people who tried to book, so the hotel was over booked and our rooms got cancelled. Since we didn't try and book the room online, I'm not sure why we got cancelled since I spoke with a physical person who could actually see their reservations vs someone on the website. This event we booked for is pretty big and we didn't get the cancellation notice until a week later. A week later. This problem is also partly the events issue too for having the hotel block off the rooms so we couldn't book in advanced. If the rooms weren't blocked off, it wouldn't haven't created a "Black Friday madness" rush for the hotels they had under contract. I'm mostly disappointed in the hotel for cancelling our rooms a week after booking which also caused us to miss out on booking the other hotels the event had reserved under a special rate. It caused a world of problems on many levels.

Yelp
10/10 RECOMMEND STAYING HERE. 'TIS ALL I HAVE TO SAY :) Spent a few weekends here and I loved it. Also, there are great restaurants and bars across the street near Toyota Music Factory.

Yelp
The patio is great for food and drinks! Their nachos, street corn are delicious. The bartenders are really great and know how to make a good Margarita! I recommend coming here if you have a large group and want delicious food to share.

Yelp
I'll keep this simple. THIS PROPERTY WAS LOVELY. Casual chic. Nice amenities. Food on property was fantastic. And minutes away from Las Colinas fun. I'll be back in a heartbeat.

Yelp
Just spent 4 nights at Texican Court and quit highly recommend. Nice rooms, clean, friendly staff. Would stay here again if in Irving.

Yelp
If you need a place to stay convenient to Las Colinas, Grapevine, or DFW airport, this is it. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself has a restaurant, and on Friday and Saturday nights there is usually live music. The rooms are comfortable and the ambiance is like being in small town Texas or New Mexico. Recommended!

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my stay here. The beds were ultracomfy with their fluffy feather pillows and just right mattress. The rooms are cleaned regularly and the staff is super friendly. They have some games you can play in the courtyard and a lovely fireplace. I highly recommend this as a place to stay in when you're visiting Texas.

Yelp
I've stayed at this hotel several times and have looked over some things due to covid but this is the last straw, every time I stay here the bedding is stained along with the carpet. There is already used items in my room and this last time there was bugs crawling around. The woman at the front desk didn't seem to care much and told me there was nothing she could do, then told me to email someone about it... Worst customer service, I do not recommend this hotel unless you like staying in an unkept space....which during covid is already not a good sign... Seems like they would be taking more precautions during covid.
