TGI Fridays Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy - Eater Dallas

"TGI Fridays filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The move follows the closure of around 50 locations nationwide the previous week and more than 80 closures in total for 2024. The company expects to use the time and legal protections made available through the Chapter 11 restructuring process to allow the company to explore strategic alternatives in order to ensure the long-term viability of the brand. TGI Fridays operates a mix of franchised and company-owned restaurants across 41 countries, but the franchised locations and intellectual property are not affected by the filing." - Courtney E. I feel ill after eating there. I want to stick my fingers down my throat and throw up. I ordered the combo - mozzie sticks, potato skins and boneless buffalo wings, and a cheeseburger. 1. The waiter was surley 2. They gave me a plastic knife, so I was unable to cut some of the potato skins 3. Only half of the wings had sauce on them 4. The ranch dressing was insipid 5. The potato skins had next to no topping 6. The mozzie sticks could have been used as ice hockey pucks 7. The plate was chipped/cracked 8. The cheeseburger came out at the same time as the starter 9. When the cheeseburger reappeared, it had so obviously been kept warm. It was congealed and cold 10. The cheeseburger had no seasoning 11. The fries were limp 12. They wanted me to pay by scanning a QR code, which did not work. The server got pissed because he had to manually process the payment. This awful food cost me +$50 Is it any wonder that TGIs are closing down all over the place when the service and food are so crap?

Google
Great tasting food! Also with the ambiance, and the restaurant extending back away from the terminal walkway, it didn't feel like we were even in an airport.

Google
Stopped in to try the whiskey ribs and shrimp. Very fast service 8 minutes from the time of the order and getting food. Everything was hot and fresh. The place was busy, and service was keeping up with the pace. Very clean location.

Google
This is probably the worst Fridays I've been too. It's tight, nasty and the counter ledge by where we sit is super nasty and sticky. The waitress was not attentive. She brought me some broccoli poured from a plastic bag and put in the microwave with nothing on it even through the description said otherwise. That wasn't good. The whiskey boneless wings were hard. Good but hard.

Google
Food was great service was good only problem dont seat close to the bar loud talking people drinking get to the tables when your eating

I recently dined at TGI Fridays in the DFW airport and ordered the chicken salad with a side of fries. While the chicken itself was a bit of a letdown—it didn't look like the photo on the menu and lacked flavor—the rest of the salad was phenomenal. The greens were fresh, the toppings were generous, and the dressing was perfectly balanced. The fries were also a highlight, crispy and delicious. Despite the chicken not living up to expectations, the overall meal was enjoyable. I'd give it 4 stars and would consider giving it another shot next time I'm in the area.

December 2024 Early morning flight, pick up some delicious breakfast burritos. Food was good but the salsa wasn’t fresh. Great coffee though. Quick and convenient for a quick bite.

Google
🍴 TGI Fridays (Airport) – Decent meal, awkward service. This was my first time at a TGI Fridays, and I stopped in while waiting for a flight. I ordered the salmon meal and had a drink or two—it wasn’t bad at all. The food was fine for airport dining, but nothing I’d say I was missing before or would rush back for. The service, though, was a little off. There was no clear explanation of how to pay. They just dropped the check without saying anything, and I had to figure out on my own that I had to scan a QR code at the table to pay online. It felt impersonal and confusing—especially if someone wanted to pay with cash. Overall, not terrible, but not memorable either. If you’re hungry before a flight, it’ll do—but don’t expect anything beyond the basics.

Yelp
Stopped by while waiting for a flight. The staff was quick with placing my order and delivering food. There are QR codes on the table in case you have to leave for a flight suddenly. In my case, I did. The staff helped get to go boxes and process my payment so I could make it to the gate. Lots of seating available for medium size groups to single travelers.

Yelp
Never again will I go to this TGIF in Terminal C. My food was great and my server friendly -- but the online payment system charged me $100. I had gotten through the whole process, left a nice tip (22%) and typed in my email for receipt -- which didn't appear. So I asked server about this and she gave me a paper receipt instead. After realizing I had been overcharged I called 5 times to address this and got hung up on twice. I even bought an extra bottled water to go, to be nice to my server! (And good thing I did b/c our AA flight was stuck at gate for extra 45 minutes.) More troubling, I saw 3 consecutive African American guests seated at high table right next to noisy fridge that would bang every time it started cooling, which was every few minutes. 1 customer was not attended to and asked for someone to wipe table; sullen busboy left to get a ?dry napkin and wiped it with that. He left after no one greeted him for several minutes. And the very next person who was seated there was also African American; thankfully the server greeted her right away. But even this aside, the refrigerator was so noisy it would startle me, too. Hoping can get this overcharge resolved as well!

Yelp
For an airport restaurant and reasonable pricing, it will do the job. At the same time, I would probably choose another place or order something else next time. We had a few drinks along with an order of chicken wings. The wings were fried way too long and were on the dryer side. Even the buffalo sauce and parmesan sauce didn't help. The service was excellent though so that's not their fault.

Yelp
Hey, it's a TGI Fridays and it's in an airport - so you have to level your expectations and this one was good! Best of all, it was right near my gate which is one of my most important priorities when choosing an airport bar, haha. I took an open seat and the bartender was very kind and attentive. Great service. He even gave me some extra of a Lemon Drop he made which I appreciated very much! It tasted great; I hadn't had one of those in a long time. My mozzarella sticks were hot and ooey-gooey with amazing cheese pulls. They really hit the spot of what I was going for! Overall had a good time here during my layover.
google avatar

Yelp
The prices are reasonable for being in the airport. I was seated right away, but it took a while for the server to come over and even the people aside of me were saying the same thing. I ordered an appetizer, a peach sangria, and a water and my bill was $30.03 with the 18% tip. This place needs a good scrub down as it wasn't in the best of shape. Unfortunately, I was hungry and it was close to my gate.

Yelp
I was traveling through DFW recently and had time for more of a sit down meal. TGI Fridays was near my gate so I decided to eat there. The place was busy so I sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive. Refilled my soda multiple times. They have a limited menu from the regular restaurants but they have some good options. I had the chicken strips and fries. The strips were a bit spicy with a nice flavor. Good fries. Liked their side of cole slaw. Overall a nice airport meal.

Yelp
It was our lucky day on this busy flight morning - no wait at TGIFridays across from our gate! They gladly split the meal in the kitchen - thank you! The Southwest Veggie Omelette was filled with bell peppers, (huge chunks) onions, melted cheese and fresh pico de gallo hit the spot. The side of crispy seasoned potatoes were exactly that, crispy and yummy. This breakfast entree comes with a side of salsa and multi grain toast. Lots of travelers coming and going, service was quick-as was the meal, and our server was helpful!

Yelp
Ordered a beer and Buffalo wings. Neither of the 2 items ordered came out correctly.

Yelp
Got the bone sucking plate full of wings and ribs and fries. Way too much for me to eat, but brought it to my adopted fur baby and he LOVED the ribs. Decent place when traveling through DFW Airport

Yelp
An airport TGI Friday's, so why review? We got stuck in Dallas due to maintenance issues with our plane and this little place got slammed with a seemingly overwhelming crowd. However the staff kept the food and the liquid libations flowing and did so with a smile although it was quite late. Lots of folks appreciated it, guys. Thanks!

Yelp
Great burgers for enjoying in the terminal on in your plane seat ... March, 2023 Visit For spring break we visited Corpus Christi, to enjoy a bit of sun and relaxation, and we enjoyed the trip. Our flight was at 12:50 so we needed lunch and TGIF is located right at our gate, C27. We ordered three burgers, gluten-free; they were out of GF buns so they delivered our burgers on two pieces of thick lettuce (instead of buns). These were great burgers, and the fries, with extra ketchup, were tasty, too. We departed DFW with smiles on our faces and bellies filled with burgers. Thank you, TGI-Friday DFW C-Concourse.

Yelp
I don't often do reviews of airport restaurants, but our service at the Friday's in Terminal C was so outstanding I had to say something. We were traveling with our son, daughter in law and 9-month-old grandson. First the hostess put us at a table in a corner of the restaurant with plenty of room for 4 people and a highchair, stroller and all our luggage. Made us very comfortable. Then our server was extremely attentive to our needs and our timing and to having a baby with us. This included getting our food order quickly, food delivered and check brought all in a swift manner, but not at all rushing us or missing any needed drink refills. Last food was good, especially my Whiskey-Glaze Burger.

Yelp
This place did not disappoint! I decided to stop and grab a bite to eat before catching my next flight and let me tell you they were busy but I was seated fairly quickly. The place seemed clean but I will say it was a little tight squeeze between tables. My waitress was Chanel (probably spelled that wrong) she was amazing. She was attentive and super polite. Now to the food. I ordered mozzarella sticks and they were delicious I didn't even think to take a picture because I was too busy eating lol. I also, ordered the whisky burger and it was delicious and well prepared. Based off my personal experience everything was great and I would definitely recommend this as a good food spot to stop at.

Yelp
Forced to sleep overnight in the DFW airport. This place opened early and breakfast was delish. So what I needed after a shitty night. Potatoes were the best I've had in ages. Omelette was flavorful and well cooked. Served was kind and fast. No complaints!
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
You've got one hour to make a connection at DFW and several terminals to get to your gate, meaning no time to stop and smell the roses OR choose a bite to eat. You get to eat whatever has the shortest line that's closest to your gate, and in our case, that meant the grab and go section of this Friday's location. Thankfully this grab and go has a hot food section with a variety of sandwiches. We snagged the last whiskey chicken, a chicken bacon ranch, and a cheeseburger. The chicken sandwiches were fair. Not terribly dry, as I'd expected, and the chicken itself was decently sized too. The kids didn't complain about the burger but that patty was totally dry and it just looked sad. All in all, I'm glad we had food and a few minutes to eat it, but I'm tired of airport food being so sub-par. They have kitchens and can serve fresh stuff, so why is it always so sad? This was fine and filled the void. Next time I hope we have more time to eat something decent.
google avatar

Yelp
Didn't expect this today. Ordered the combo platter with the boneless wings. Decided to cut them in pieces, which is weird because I normally inhale them in one bite. Glad that I did. A little nervous about the one I did eat in one bite. Guess I will find out later or while on my next flight. They did comp the whole meal and gave me another beer, but I don't think that I will ever return to an airport Fridays.
google avatar

Warren E.

Yelp
Combine airport prices with a cup of coffee that's not completely full and you have a three star review. I picked up a cold cut wrap and there was a lot going on with flavor. Combined that with not tasting fresh I probably wouldn't do the grab and go again. I can't comment on the other food but maybe next time a hamburger and fries would be a better option.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Terrible overpriced food. The chips for the spinach dip were stale. My daughter couldn't even eat her burger it was so dry ketchup couldn't even save it.

Yelp
Stopped here for breakfast during my layover at DFW Airport. I ordered the steak and eggs platter. It came with 2 eggs, steak, 2 slices if bacon, toast and potatoes. I didn't realize it had so much food! The steak was good, tender and had some garlic butter on top. The eggs and bacon and toast were decent. I wasn't a fan of the potatoes. They didn't taste that great. Seemed old and reheated. I also ordered a Sangria-rita (sangria/margarita drink) which was really good. The bartender was very nice. We had a pleasant conversation. It was a decent place to spend a little time during my layover. The place was clean, good service and the food served its purpose.
google avatar

Tom E.

Yelp
We stopped in for an early breakfast just before 6 AM. The entire airport was absolutely frigid, and the dining room had every seat under an air vent, unfortunately. Not their fault, obviously. Service was good. The coffee was weak and lukewarm. The veggie omelette and potatoes were generous and very good, but were not accompanied by the whole wheat toast mentioned on the menu. The EBLT (egg bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich) was a skimpy for the price. The ice water tasted of either soap or sanitizer and was undrinkable.
google avatar

Cri S.

Yelp
Small portions. Suspect freshness of produce. Overpriced. Poor cell signal location. Not giving this place a chance again.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Food was pretty much what you would expect at an airport restaurant . The service is what kills the review. Literally dropped my food off at the table and walked away before I could tell them it was incorrect, didn't even ask if I needed anything else...then crickets. I went ahead and ate, when someone finally came around, they just asked if I was good, I said "yes", and they walked off. Retuned 30 sec later with my bill, again- never asked if I needed anything else. About that other beer I would have had...

Yelp
Wow. Best TGI Fridays I have been to. This one is in the C Concourse at Dallas Airport. Hot fresh food. We had Grilled chicken, Ribs, and they were very good. The whiskey BBQ sauce was great. Light and sweet. We sat down at the bar, had drinks in hand with one minute, food delivered within 10 minutes. Great bar tender!!
google avatar

Stacey J.

Yelp
It stinks so bad in the restaurant we had to get our food to-go. They notified us that were out of rainbow cake, after we ordered and paid. Other than that, pretty standard.
google avatar

Valerie S.

Yelp
Great everything! Rachel was awesome, very attentive and friendly with the right amount of funny!

Yelp
There are a few TGI Friday's in DFW. We are in Concourse C; gates 1-20 fresh off the Skylink. Tiny little eatery with limited tables and chairs. A pretty mediocre experience. Food was dull, not very appetizing. Tasted bland. Chicken was dry, not very tender. Potato Skins are a signature dish for them. These were dry and rubbery. Were it not for catching a flight, we would've sent them back. Prices were airport inflated but the service was terrific. Our waiter was in the area quite a bit. In the end, he brought a couple of iced teas in carry out cups...for the plane ride. 10/20
google avatar

Clarissa P.

Yelp
Really bad food and really bad service. The wait for our food took a long time. The wings were soooo dry as were the loaded potato skins. Ordered an alcoholic beverage and it just tasted like pure juice. The only decent thing was the mozzarella sticks. Service was horrendous as well. While other waiters just stood around, one waiter spent his shift flirting with girls. Wish we went somewhere else but since it was 8:30, a lot of places were closed or about to close.

Yelp
My husband has been talking a lot about this TGI FRIDAYS Branch because of their wings, since we are going to have a 4-hr layover, we decided to get some brunch here. (/) Staff greeted and welcomed us with a smile and accommodated us to our seats (/) Fast service My husband ordered some lemonade and long island for me, they served my husband's drink just in 5mins and gave me water so I have something to drink while waiting for my long island. This made me happy cause I was thirsty. (/) BEST CHICKEN WINGS I've tasted so far I've been to different branches overseas and never really liked this restau. Surprisingly, their chicken wings here made me love TGI FRIDAYS! It is tasty and juicy til the inside and big servings! We got 12pcs of chicken wings each and I finished mine plus the fries. That's how much I loved it!
google avatar

Alexis B.

Yelp
I know it's a TGI Friday's. But if you're in DFW and need a meal, it's really not such a bad place to go! We had a few hours to kill this past weekend during a layover and stopped by. We shared a burger and fries and a few drinks and watching the Cowboys game that was being replayed from the night before. The service was actually excellent, and overall it was a good place for us to spend some time during our layover.
google avatar

Tushae T.

Yelp
Good service friendly see the bartender with the hair in bun. iPhone in the back pocket she will take care of you for sure!
google avatar

Kay P.

Yelp
Waitress Sheryl is the best! I was flying home to LA and there was nothing left open in DFW airport except TGI Friday's because everything closes at 7:30 PM. Sheryl made sure that she double checked which gate was my connection, gave me estimated time frames to get there with time to spare and also made sure I got my meal in a timely fashion. This restaurant is awesome at making sure everyone gets out on time to make their flight. I would never write a yelp review for an airport restaurant but she just made my meal so pleasant and quick. Burger was fine, it was standard TGI Friday's quality but her positive attitude and energy made the meal very memorable and happy!

David P.

Yelp
Just got a cold chicken club to go for the plane. It held up well untill drinks were served. Would've eaten inside but the layover was too short (for once!)
google avatar

Shea C.

Yelp
Surprisingly good steak and eggs. The extra crips bacon was made to order and perfect! Great 1st stop of the rough travel day. Mona the server was fantastic! She always provided what I needed for my meal seconds before I needed it. She was delightful. Thanks Mona ! Have a great day!
google avatar

Pierre S.

Yelp
Went in with low expectations. Early morning, in an airport plus I wanted something close to my gate. This TGIF is in Terminal C of the DFW. Gave the Southwest Veggie Omelet a try and I was pleasantly surprised. A little under seasoned for my taste. However, I felt the portion was generous and fairly priced which is something I cannot say of many airport establishments.
google avatar

Erica K.

Yelp
What a train wreck. When traveling food should be quick, hot and quality. This is not the place for any of that. The place could use a deep cleaning. I waited for 40 min for a Caesar salad and artichoke dip. There's absolutely no reason to have to wait that long for any of that. The server was the only highlight. Super friendly and efficient as he could possibly be despite his kitchen staff working at a snails pace.
google avatar

Vince N.

Yelp
After landing at DFW in the early morning, I was hungry with my stomach set on Popeyes. But, our layover was really short and said eatery wasn't in sight. My first and until now, only experience with this chain was at their now long gone Honolulu location. A forgettable meal, I remember. Gotta eat, so bit the bullet I did. ATMOSPHERE: Located across gate C30, it's a simple dining room with a small bar and take away counter. The to-go counter offers pre-made sandwiches, burritos, salads and cold beverages. The main menu is a shrunken version of their full service counterparts. FOOD: Bacon Egg Cheese Sandwich This was a perfect grab & go sandwich as it was easy and clean to eat. Aside from the bun being a bit too sweet for me, everything else was good. The right amount of cheese, nicely done egg and crisp bacon strips. Oatmeal My spouse's healthy choice! This was ordered off of the main menu so it took a while to come out, unlike my pre-made sandwich. It was a decent sized bowl of thick oats with fresh strawberries, brown sugar, nuts and cranberries to the side. SERVICE: I wasn't expecting much, but the gal at the takeout counter was very friendly and professional. I was greeted and thanked, a rarity these days. That's all you have to do to earn a tip from me! OVERALL: Good service and food, a bit pricey due to location.

Yelp
Horrible customer service. Came to pick up food. The girl in the front didn't know what was the order, attitude was not good. The manager came. Didn't really help much. And they overcharged me. At least the fries were decent.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Ya know...I wanted to slam this place because I hate hate hate airport restaurants and their weird business structure. Usually the service is awful, the food is microwaved, and you really don't feel like you're a customer. This place is a little different. Obviously the prices are insane, and it isn't the greatest food in the world, but it was busy and I got seated promptly, and the service has been really good, friendly, and attentive. A 4 star review of an airport restaurant by me, mine as well be a 5 star review, because I have an inherent bias against their nonsense.
google avatar

Brent L.

Yelp
I can't figure out what went wrong here. I *HATE* TGI Fridays in the "real" world, but I enjoyed my food and service at this airport location. Maybe it was because it was an airport location and I had lower expectations. The service: Very friendly bartenders, and the staff doesn't stand around texting, Facebooking (or Yelping) on their cell phones like I often see at airport restaurants. Now you have to watch yourself in these TGI Fridays folks. Take a look at the calorie count on the menu before ordering. Most items on the breakfast menu were between 800 and 1510 calories. Three breakfast tacos are $9.29 and tip the scales at a whopping 1510 calories! They sure sounded good, but no I didn't get those. I went for the boring fruit bowl instead. On my return trip, I discovered they have the "Beyond Meat" burger for $13.29. It comes with your choice of fries or a side salad. If you've never had this burger, you gotta try it. It's so much like real beef. Now here comes the important stuff, so get your notebooks out class: Multiple locations at the DFW airport - this one is located at gate 30 terminal C. They have AWESOME power strips at the bar (yeah, my battery isn't holding a charge lately). And here's the crème de la crème: this *AIRPORT* bar has 22-ounce draft beers for $6! What??? Those aren't airport prices. That's insane! I've never found an airport bar/restaurant I loved so much and I can't believe it's a TGI Fridays... Five solid stars for an airport restaurant? Who does that???
google avatar

Brendon M.

Yelp
The service is horrible one of the waitresses has a huge attitude that no one should have when dealing with customers and tourists, she walked away and asked another table of they were ready to order when I was just about to say what I wanted and not to mention that when I did order she questioned me about my order. She is an African American woman with black hair and if the manager is reading this you should know who she is and fire her immediately!!!
google avatar

Jim P.

Yelp
It's kind of strange for me to give a five star review to an airport concession of TGI Fridays but hey you know what the burger was really great I had the cheddar bacon almond Burger and it was really good I got a salad with it service was good no complaints at all and again considering it was an airport facility they get pretty good marks I'll definitely try it again when I'm passing through DFW.

Allaina W.

Yelp
I found a hair in my pot sticker. worst part was that the waiter does not appear surprised. ew.
google avatar

Mary V.

Yelp
I know buying anything at an airport is NOT cheap. But this place takes it to a whole different level $2 plus tax for a 1.5 ounce bag of plain Lay's chips? Outrageous!!! I would have gone someplace else, but there is NO other option in this area of DFW other than the vending machines - which are equally outrageously priced!

Curtis C.

Yelp
Best TGI Friday's I've ever been to. The music was bumpin' and they didn't mind side sitting. Sizable portions for both food and drink. Our waiter, David, was probably the best waiter we've had in 6 months. Come check it out.
google avatar

Kristi H.

Yelp
Ate here during my 2 hour layover at the DFW airport. As this is a generic chain within an airport, my expectations weren't too high, but my order disappointed me more than I expected. By the words on the menu, the parmesean chicken with lemon butter broccoli and mashed potatoes sounded pretty tasty. I patiently waited about 10 minutes for my dish to come out and...see the attached picture. It looks like something I could have made in college, save for the breaded part of the noticeably small chicken piece. Granted, nothing about the taste was particularly bad per se, but it wasn't anything to be amazed about.
google avatar

Maricela V.

Yelp
It's difficult to give chain restaurants more than three stars to be honest. The food is always just ok. In TGI FRidays case you can tell that all of their appetizers are frozen and just microwaved or something which is a bummer. The green beans did come with a wasabi ranch dressing though which was a new experience for me. Quite good. But come on, who really comes here for the food? It's the perfect spot to sit at the bar while waiting for your flight. The bartenders are friendly and we're all dressed up for the holidays.
google avatar

Summer C.

Yelp
We were in between flights and were starving. Luckily TGI Fridays was able to seat us immediately. I was traveling with my kids and did have one stroller. I collapsed it, but it was really tight space in the restaurant, even if I didn't have a stroller. The customer service was good and our waiter was helpful and friendly. The reason for 3 stars is the food was just alright. It helped us not be hungry, but overall the flavor and quality weren't that great. It was just normal and fine, not gross or horrible. I got one of the burgers and my kids ordered off the kids menu (which isn't always great because kids menus tend to be so bland or unexciting). The food did it's job in having us not be hungry, but I did leave hungry for good flavor.
google avatar

Juan Q.

Yelp
Had a great experience. Haven't been to a TGI FRIDAY in a long time. On the way to Vegas we chose here. Our food was made to order .Got the bacon cheese burger. Waiter was polite and friendly. It was busy but didn't take long to be seated. We had a good lunch.

Yelp
I usually don't go to chains, but actually really enjoyed my breakfast here. Great oatmeal and I love the spread it came out with. Also, super fresh fruit. My waiter was nice, and the manager also came out to check on me which was super kind. Quick service.
