This was a weird Fridays for me. I am one of the few people left on this planet that goes out their way to eat at TGI Fridays whenever possible as its nostalgic for me and I’ve always been a fan since before their long downfall. I’ve been to locations recently in Orlando, Richmond, Indianapolis and Los Angeles however this location in Southfield is most certainly pushing the limits of just how bad service can be in a dying TGI Fridays. When getting service in a dying TGI Fridays you always sit at the bar if you hope to not wait a million years. This proved somewhat successful at this location however once my order was placed it took twenty minutes for the happy hour potatoe skins to show and a total of 47 minutes for my sizzling chicken as cheese. Yes Fridays take a million years but this one took two million years. I waited patiently as you have to as a Fridays and eventually was rewarded with a sizzling chicken and cheese that was yummy. It was difficult eating with the plastic ware though. They have plates but not silverware so I’m not sure what’s going on here. One more thing, the ac must be on the fritz. It was 68 outside but very warm inside Fridays even with the floor and box fans setup on tables and the bar to help circulate air. All in all this was by far the strangest Fridays I’ve been to. I think I’d come back.

45 min to get beverages. Hour and a half to get appetizers and order. Going on 2 hours15 minutes still no main course on the table. Haven't even seen my server in over 30 minutes. Empty glasses. Not busy at all. Actually we're the only table left that hasnt eaten yet.People behind me have been waiting an hour for check. Got here at 725. It's now 10pm. Still no food. Literally worst service I've ever experienced.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My daughter and I had an awesome experience at TGI Fridays in Southfield, Michigan! Ms. April was absolutely amazing so kind, attentive, and welcoming. The entire staff made us feel comfortable and well taken care of. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious, and the service from start to finish was outstanding. We truly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. Thank you for such a great experience!

Ordered the Chicken/shrimp pasta with a fettuccine like sauce. The sauce was too thick and way YYYY too salty. Could eat it, even having sent back the first one because of the salt, the second had less meat and Way more thick cheesy sauce than the first

I was at Fridays, yesterday for bingo. I enjoy everything games, drinks n some food. The ribs are terrible, just because u have a appetizer card, doesn't mean your food shouldn't be better. They were burnt and hard, very disappointed.

This is not the Friday’s of yesteryear. Went there on a Saturday afternoon. It was dismal. Very little traffic and they had one waitress in the entire place. She did her best but service was slow. I went to the bar to ask what single malt scotches they had, the bartender didn’t even know what it was. Out of frustration, he eventually told me whatever they had was in the display behind the bar. I truthfully have more variety in my home liquor cabinet. We ordered a large selection of appetizers, we were ready to leave 2 hours later before the last order came up. In summary, the employees were poorly trained and staffed, service was slow, the liquor inventory was non-existent other than a few popular mainstream selections. What’s left of Fridays probably won’t be around much longer from the looks of how this one was being operated… This used to be a prime location… a happening spot. Sad to see Added 12/8/2025 Not sure what's worse the bullshit corporate response or none at all... in the end we all know nothing ever gets fixed...

Limited selection of beer due to inventory issues. The service was excellent. The food was decent but the potato skins were not as good as in the past. I hope they can improve operations to stay afloat.

Horrible service. Food was good, typical of what you get from Fridays. A pretty long wait, but what we noticed most was that our server never checked back in or got us refills. We had to flag down others because she was no where to be found. All the employees were busy checking their appearance in the excessive amount of mirrors, or vaping by the kitchen. I'm not one to complain but the service here was top five for worst I've had. Wouldn't recommend. We actually drove an hour for it (Fridays is a sentimental tradition for us) or we would have left after ten minutes of not being seated.

The restaurant was very dirty the evening we went - maybe short staffed but there were so many tables that were dirty; food and plates still on the tables. And the music! Let's talk about the music! It wasn't even 9pm and it was like walking into a night club with a bad stereo system turned up as loud as it could! We couldn't even hear ourselves talk!! My glass of water had food on the outside of it - just gross. The potatoe skins still have a little love like they had back in the 2000's but they must take time to clean tables, wipe menus and if they want club atmosphere- wait till after 10... but maybe that's they way they want it but I won't be back to dine in.

I have to update my previous reviews, as we've been getting carryout lately, and everything has been good. We've been a few times and our order was perfect, so I definitely needed to come back here for an update. I'm glad they didn't close after all, as Southfield could still use places like Friday's. We've gotten apps, entrees, salads, etc. and we had no complaints. The portion size of Cajun shrimp pasta is huge, so that's definitely appreciated. My Million Dollar Cobb was pretty huge as well. Fresh ingredients, good dressing, happy me. The potato skins were freshly fried and delicious. We will probably continue to get carryout here often. Thank you to the cooking staff and management for holding it down here.

Upon arriving we asked for a table for 4. The hostess left and came back and said she had a booth for us. I said I wanted a table - with chairs... She left again and came back and said she could do that. Kind of an odd start. We sat for about 15-20 minutes before being helped. The waitress brought us plastic utensils to eat with and took our food order. The food came out quickly and tasted really good. The service - that left A LOT to be desired. No drink refills. No check-ins to see if we needed anything. When the bill came, I told our waitress I had some free entrees on my reward account. She took off the appetizer with the points I had and didn't apply the free entree coupons. She ran my card before confirming with me and said she needed the codes in order to use the free entree rewards on my account. Since the card was already ran she couldn't do anything. Lame. Wish there were other TGI Fridays in the area. This one just doesn't cut it.

It's definitely for a younger crowd. Music NOT kid friendly. Sexy Red should not be played with children in the building. Not everyone let their children listen to that kinda music at that age (non teenagers) Food and drinks were GREAT!! Service was GREAT very attentive to our needs.

It was really terrible!!!!!! And my wife got bug on her foods, she was very upset!!!!! The cooker said ok fine replace it and felt really disgusted And my friend and wife told the waitress ordered potato skin first! Somehow the waitress brought dinner and stater same time and my other friend asked the waitress he wanted to have nachos for pretzel bite but she said no! He wasn't happy at all, so the waitress DID NOT COME TO CHECK IS EVERYTHING OKAY? VERY NOTHING!!! we discussed we will NOT GO BACK TO THOSE PLACE NEVER AGAIN! We don't pleasuring there!! And felt slimy...

THEY NEED NEW MANAGEMENT!!! For this to the be the last one in the area they need to better. It was one bartender all night and that was a disaster. It started off good and went down hill fast. My order was wrong twice for two separate items. The manager only came out to void items and didn't help when she clearly saw the bar was crowded. I feel like she took a quick snooze leaning on the counter waiting on the bartender that's how bad it was. It literally look like it hurt her to come out to the bar each time. This is a prime example of top down management needing to do better. You can't expect much from staff if you aren't willing to get your hands dirty. I came one Thursday right before the end of the work day and had a totally different experience. I wish I could remember the bartender name because they need to give him a raise and ask him to help on game nights or weekend nights.

I visit to Fridays maybe once a year and it's strictly for curbside pickup. I don't want to take my chances dining in as I've read other reviews and I think by now you have to know what you're getting yourself into, so curbside it is if I decide to order food. I've always had my food ready to go the time I came to pick it up and it was hot and pretty good for Fridays. Now as I stated before you really don't want to dine in if you're going to come here because it more than likely won't be the experience you were hoping for but as far as carry out goes this place is pretty solid.

This is the most ghetto TGI Fridays I've been to in my life. The music was like I was at a night club and it made the people at the bar "turnt up". I left the restaurant with a headache. The ones they shut down in Michigan were much better then this one.

Ohhhh... under staffed. Waited 10 minutes before we were seated. We were told more cooks were coming in. We got our drinks and apps within 15 minutes, but it's now been 30 minutes since we've seen our waitress. We have a table of 6 and all of our drinks are empty and the bar turned us from getting refills.

There are only THREE locations left. This one must be on its way out too. During NFL playoffs, they didn't have cable, so they missed lots of money on that! Went in for Cinco de Mayo and ALL the lights in the restaurant were turned off except the bar! There was a note posted on the front door, the bar was open but it was CASH ONLY! Wait what??? So, maybe they're closing and trying to get rid of the liquor?? Anywho, I left along with 3 other folks that wanted to sit and eat. The place looked like the kitchen was closed. Just weird. I probably won't ever go back. This spot would have been ideal for the Chick Fil A that's being built in the already congested area of Telegraph and 12 mile. (Whose great idea was that???)

I only gave one star since I have to in order to leave a review. I was in town with a hockey team staying close by, we called ahead and they stated they didn't have a wait. We arrived with our party of 12, sat way in the back where the lights were burned out above 1/2 our table. Our sever came took our drink order and 45 minutes later a couple sprits/beers (draft) arrived. The server left and said she would be right back- after another 30 minutes we had to find her to get the check and leave. She brought the check which was wrong and after trying to correct it we just paid and left. 90 minutes and half our drinks came. Never again!

We were pleasantly surprised by our visit based off the ratings of this establishment. The steak was cooked perfectly (one of the best we have had in awhile) and the service was well above average. A big thanks to Mecale for such a pleasurable experience.

I understand why all of these are closing to bad I have to give them one star. Wouldn't take my order online went in was meet with snide remarks from the staff for all the changes then they still messed up my food.

We have been here a few times as it's a convenient place for lunch. My office is down the street from here. There isn't too much to say. It's a chain restaurant. The food is ok. Nothing amazing. I did enjoy my drink today though. So why only three stars? The service was sooo slow. The bartender basically ignored me. Then when she finally took my order it took even longer to get that. And I only got a drink while waiting to meet a friend. To be fair I know restaurants are short staffed currently.

I worked late even though it was Teacher Appreciation Day. That's how things can go when you are an educator. Students first! I was excited that TGIFridays was open late and showing appreciation to teachers. I drove almost 20 miles for over 20 minutes in the opposite direction of home looking forward to a special treat. So another teacher and I were very disappointed to see a sign on the door the "Teacher Appreciation is Over." Apparently the manager put the sign on the door and left knowing that many teachers would be disappointed or frustrated. If a limited time frame had been advertised, that would have been understandable, but that wasn't the case. Wasted my time. Wasted my gas. So disappointed! When I expressed that it was bad form, the waitress replied, "They know. They are prepared for that." Teachers understand that sitiations can get overwhelming. We just go the extra mile to make it right and try to make it up to someone asap.

If in the southfield area, go somewhere else! I'm upgrading my review from 1 star to 2 because I know our waitress worked really hard to get our party of 8 everything we needed while being VERY understaffed. Service was still absurdly slow, we waited over and hour for our food after ordering! Hit or miss here apparently so it's probably better to just try out a local restaurant instead. Biggest overall confusion was with their reservation/call ahead system and if it exists or not. We called at 11am and they said to call ahead an hour before. We called an hour before arrival and was told they don't do call ahead seating. We arrived and were told it would be a 30 minute wait (which we clearly tried to avoid). We asked if sitting 4 and 4 would help and she told us no and that we would be sat as 8 (giving us no choice) and then sat us in five minutes. The confusion and discussion was not a great start. The restaurant wasn't very clean either. Food came out eventually and everyone had what they ordered for the most part. Food tasted like every other Fridays but the service and wait and confusion make it 2 stars.

I used to be a diehard Fridays fan. Traveling for work and feeling a little reminiscent, I decided to come in by myself for wings. Waiting for my food and someone really liked the song that was on because all of a sudden I'm not sure if I'm in a club or a sit down restaurant. Ridiculous how loud the music is. The wings are sub par at best. I get better ones at sam's club. Super disappointed in this visit.

The slowest service ever. We had been seated for probably 15 minutes (by a hostess) before our server finally came to our table. She was rude and abrupt. She was extremely slow. The food was good, but hard to eat in peace. There was extremely loud music, a man by the bar, the whole time (badly) belting out every song, and hitting on every woman that came within 5 feet of him.

I sat at the bar around 3 pm. It wasn't crowded. I was greeted pretty quickly by the bartender Robin. She was pleasant and thorough, and got our drink orders and food orders in quickly. I ordered that new southern fried chicken sandwich with fries. It was absolutely delicious. My food was fresh and I was pleased that everything I had asked to be removed from the sandwich had actually been removed (I don't like mayo or pickles lol) I hate that I didn't get a picture of my food, it was really good. I'd definitely come back for morning shift again, I was pretty pleased by their presentation. I don't usually do this particular fridays in the evenings. Service gets pretty bad and good is noticeably horrible during those shifts (which is sad, but the honest to God truth) Robin rocked this entire experience! Thumbs up to her. You go girl lol gave me a little faith in Friday's in Southfield once again.

Thought we would try it (haven't been to a Friday's in years) as our original restaurant choice was out of power. There were at least 20 tables empty but we were put at a dirty one. Had to stand there and wait for it to be cleared and cleaned. Once seated, we sat there for 15 - 20 minutes never being contact by anyone, couldn't even ask for our server because there was no one roaming around to even ask . We were on lunch break, we got up and walked out.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a regular TGIFridays Customer. We went in only for the St. Patrick's Day drink specials. I don't think I've been to a Fridays in about 2 to 3 years. This visit was very brief. We were greeted at the door by who we presumed to be the hostess and a fairly empty restaurant. We were told that there was a 45 minute wait. As we glanced around confused because there was no one really there, and most people were at the bar, we expressed our confusion. The waitress standing across from her also seemed confused as some people had just seated themselves because there was no hostess at the door. The hostess said that they were shortstaffed on the floor and in the kitchen and that the food was backed up. We were all set. The sad thing is I haven't been to this Friday's in years even though it's not far from my house, but I won't be back. There is no reason why on St. Patrick's Day there is no staff working and people have to be turned away at a non-peak time. It was around 3:20 pm. There were three groups of people behind me and none of us stayed. Sadly, this is why this place has the reputation that it does. We drove to the one in Troy and were much happier. We tried to support the business in our community, but that could not happen.

you used to have a korean chili glaze that was great. this blackened "new" salmon was awful. no flavor no spice not even a hint of flavor. I used to order the Korean chili glaze all the time. why would you change something so good. I recommend this to people. I'm going to have to let them know you don't have it anymore and how awful the supposed blackened salmon is. it was really bad. as for me I am done with tgif. actually it's 0

It's more or less across the street from Southfield Sports Arena and I haven't been to a Friday's in a long time. Early hockey game, hey why not? It took over 20 minutes to get our beers after we ordered. The server also asked us for a backup beer before she left...which is weird? Not much faith in the inventory I guess. Once the food started coming out service seemed a lot quicker (albeit just normal pace). Chicken quesadilla app was solid and I really liked the whiskey glaze chicken sandwich. But would I sit through this experience again for almost $30 per person? Absolutely not.

I don't go to Friday's often, but when I do, I really expect better. My boss brought us here for a staff meeting and luncheon the other day, and it didn't go as well as we would have liked. (the food not the meeting. LOL) We walked in and the place was relatively quiet for a Wednesday afternoon. Mostly a few tables of office workers having lunch with one or two folks sitting alone at the bar. We were seated in the back since we were a party of 9, and our server was pretty decent. We had a variety of appetizers which were pretty darn good. We also had a breadbasket which I liked since the bread sticks tasted a lot like the ones from Olive Garden. yummy! Things started getting messy towards the end of our experience when the food started to arrive. Once we were all ready to order, she took our orders and off she went. The problem was tow fold. First, our meals came out in shifts. like 5 or 10 minutes apart. For a minute I was cool with it, but as she worked her way down the table, it got slower and slower. By the time she got to both my coworkers spot and mine, it had been darn near 20 minutes at this point. to make matters worse, she realized that we had been the first two to order, and still had no food. The waitress frantically went to the kitchen to see where our food was at and realized that the cooks must have overlooked it. I don't blame the waitress, but the cooks clearly weren't able to complete the whole order in a timely fashion. We think they overlooked our two orders and just forgot. Our poor waitress apologized profusley to the point that by the time our dishes came out, it had been a grand total of 30 minutes. Plus, everyone else was done eating at their lunches and the meeting was pretty much over. Even though I wasn't angry, the timing of the whole thing was off. I know we are a larger party of 9, but somethings going on in the kitchen that things aren't getting executed correctly. It shouldn't take 30 minutes for a table to get their food if all the orders were put in at the same time. Also, when we walked out, I did take a keen eye to the rest of the place since we had discussed the slow service of food. Things i noticed were multiple tables still with loads of dirty dishes on the end, a broken door handle at the entrance, an overflowing ash tray that clearly hasn't been emptied in days at the front of the store. It kind of makes you wonder who's managing the place. It's a series of failures all the way around that lead me to this review. I probably won't return to this location unless I'm dragged here against my will. Place needs to work on their execution.

Slow slow service. Food was fine...as far as this chain goes...except the potato skins...yuck! While I'm not a huge chain restaurant fan, I just wanted to go where I knew the food was okay. Yet, the service was poor. The manager is a little white lady with red hair, so cute! She has a big job keeping this place going with this lazy staff that was in tonight. It was mostly empty and the expressionless greeter/hostess, once finished flirting with the other greeter/host said it would be a little while...really?!...it was only a few minutes but such a strange vibe. "I hope you aren't in a hurry, the kitchen is slow!" The kitchen isn't the only slow thing here. Then the bill was entirely wrong and we did not get refills on soda! The redhead made it right in the end with the bill! So I came back to give it two stars!

Friday's mission statement is The mission statement of the restaurant is to be the market leader in their respective field of casual dining and to serve its customers with food , beverage and create customer satisfaction with great service. That is not what I got last night all I received was attitudes, no one wanted to service us, I was moved three times to three different sections because the waitress/waiter said they section was closed. I went to the bar to order a drink the bartender told me I had to wait for my waitress finally got the manager attention and she couldn't control her staff. The man finally came and serviced us but had the worst attitude ever. Food and drinks were good but they need a meeting because the culture of this business is horrible.

Waited almost an hour for a 25 minute wait time. A bunch of open tables . Large groups sat before the 2 of us were . Absolutely ridiculous service. Left !!!!!

I have visited here various times in the past when I lived in the area. It is an ok spot. It really has become a hang out location and bar/restaurant location. It gets to be a club spot the later it gets. It gets to be a hip hop friendly crowd. The staff and bar are friendly people. I ordered an appetizer and it took forever to get the order. I had to just cancel it. Overall it is cool to hang out here but I would not make it my regular spot.

Still more of the same! I stopped by My Neighborhood Friday's and of course the entire place was empty....even the bar, as a matter of fact the bar area was reserved! I was told there would be a 50 minute wait because they had just seated 3 large parties and the kitchen would be backed up Never have I ever!!! This was a new low for this Friday's. I have NO IDEA how they manage to remain open!

Just came here at 9pm and they're telling us that they can't seat us yet they're open until 11 and not busy at all. Horrible service and everyone was rude and ignorant. Never coming here again.

This place is ghetto!!! I have not been to THIS location in over 10 years and it will be my last time coming to this location. We visited this location on a Wednesday evening around 6pm. Upon our arrival, the "hostess" staff ignored us and told us to wait. We waited a half hour to simply be seated ( a group of five). Our waitress did the best she could to make our visit enjoyable-too bad it wasn't enough. To begin two people within the group ordered alcoholic beverages and three ordered pops. We received the pops 10 minutes after ordering them and the alcoholic beverages came as we were proceeding to leave the establishment an hour and a half later. Now, four of us ordered the two for $14.99 special, which came out fine. However, our potatoes skin appetizers were hard and nasty. New style of potato skins, same nasty taste and presentation. Another downside to this visit was the waiter needed better training. When serving people on the other side of the table she continually reached over my plate of food. It was highly disgusting.

I was visiting my daughter in Waterford and wanted some kind of "diner." Being new to the area she didn't know of any GOOD ones. I found Pop's on Google and said that we should try it. We were NOT disappointed. The staff was friendly, and quick. I'm not from that area, but I would go to Pop's again in a heartbeat!!

Yelp says it's open until 2AM. When I arrived just after 10PM, they weren't seating diners anymore. They offered take out, which I got, and listened to the loud party from the bar for the next 20 minutes. I'm in town for work. Two Uber trips to get take out because the dining area was closed. If you're from out of town, this Friday's isn't like the one where you're from.
