Google
I am not going to lie, the best Thai food ever! And I can say that’s the best Thai restaurant in the US! Give that a try everyone, you will like it, especially the duck, appetizer, the Lava cake. 100/100 rate

Google
I love Thai food so it’s hard to disappoint me in that area but the food here was delicious! My only critique is that the fried red snapper was only a fillet and not the whole fish. It was boneless though which was nice but I expected both sides of the fish for the price we paid. Still give it 5 stars bc it was that good. And the service was nice too.

Google
Dined here on a Monday night. Food was very good. The service was great and atmosphere very decorative. Highly recommend.

Google
It’s always great coming here. The place is a vibe and it’s always nice to choose different things on the menu. I personally love the spring rolls and the cheesy star appetizers. The phat Thai is also great to have, can’t go wrong with it. The servers are attentive and patient. I’ve come here a few times already. Love this place

Google
This place is so cute! The drinks are delicious and I can genuinely say I’ve never had a bad meal here. This is great comfort food. The staff were so friendly too. Clean and very modern. The music is great but not so loud that you can’t talk. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Google
Food was amazing!! The waitress however seemed to want to rush clientele out, even though we were one of two tables dinning in and the rest of the restaurant was empty. Great gluten-free options

Camilla D.

Yelp
Great food, great customer service. Had an issue ordering on Uber eats and Thai Basil really went above and beyond to make sure I got my food. Thank you!

Nicole Z.

Yelp
Adorable venue with very fast service, a beautiful presentation and delicious food. They have an extensive menu with many vegan options. I got the drunken noodles, spouse got the massaman curry. Both were very good and came very quickly. They looked beautiful with orchids decorating the plate. It was a lot of food for a great price.

Yelp
Because of our good experiences at this restaurant as a couple, we promoted it to our friends and all 8 of us went there for dinner this evening. It was bad at best. Prior to arriving my wife reserved a round table for us and we were seated at a long rectangular table. The two servers took quite a lot of time before they came over and finally took our orders - and honestly, it really seemed like they simply didnt have a firm grasp of the English language. There was this constant gap in communication on numerous points in the process. The serving of food was a mess. One friend got her main course of salmon right away- while the rest of us were getting appetizers. And then this same friend was served her appetizer (which she had cancelled- but it came anyway) so she shrugged and let it stay. Four of us ordered soup but only 3 got - and the fourth friend waited another 5 or so minutes to be served the same soup. Huh? Then about ten minutes later three of us were served our meals (friend one with salmon has been holding out as she's waiting for others to be served) . Then three more got their meals about 5 minutes after that. The last in our party got her meal about 5 minutes later. Are you serious? That's like a 20 minute spread for all of the main courses to come out. It was like this place had just opened and were still working out the kinks. Meanwhile my friend on my right ordered the super spicy fish which he said was inedible as it was rubbery. He should have sent it back but he's one of those guys who doesnt like to make a fuss. At the end of the meal do you think the server when clearing it away would have noticed that his dish was not touched? Nope! A completely oblivious employee was just going through the motions and was not really tuned in to what hospitality is all about. The rest of us felt our food was...ok/decent. None of us were over the moon over our meals. We also arrived with an open bottle of wine 2/3rd full - and we were charged a $14 corking fee. On top of this the restaurant gave themselves a 20% gratuity on the bill. Do you think we'll return? I'll let you draw your own conclusion.

Yelp
Thai Basil has always been my go to in town. It is now under new ownership since March 2024. It is back on track to being one of the most amazing venues in town. The portions are generous and OB the owner is a delight. She has modernized it and is continuing to make it super special. The drinks are awesome too. Stop by you won't regret it. Lastly the price point is a good bang for your buck.

Yelp
On our journey back to Jersey from Boston, we made a stop at this little, bright, and charming Thai restaurant. It exceeded every anticipation I had, I must say. The lively, inviting atmosphere combined with the exquisite decor makes for the perfect backdrop for a true Thai experience. Each item on the menu is increasingly better than the others, making for an incredible selection. Tasty Thai iced tea--people who know me know how much I love Thai ice tea and usually order it when I dine at any Thai restaurant--best I've had in a long time. A flawless ten out of 10. The incredible food, delightful ambiance, and top-notch service at this restaurant truly make an impression. Very recommended for everyone hoping for an unforgettable Thai experience!

Tara S.

Yelp
Seriously the most unreal food. The BEST curry and drunken noodle I've ever had from anywhere. The customer service is 12/10, the music and atmosphere is so calm and serene and the interior design is beautiful. Perfectly situated on the bottom of the avenue. This is our new go to spot for authentic Thai cuisine 1000000%

Yelp
I've ordered here to go a few times and the food has been hot, fresh, and delicious. The cheesy stars are a must. My favorite! The pad Thai was solid, and a large serving. I ate it over 2 days. The salad with peppers was also good and a large serving as well. My other favorite is the green curry. I get it with beef and it has been wonderfully spicy just like I like it. Another large serving it took me a couple of days to finish. A must try if you want great Thai food.

Peter K.

Yelp
The Bangkok Box is a great deal with a nice selection (high quality massaman curry for me) for a great price! I definitely recommend this place!! Servers and polite and friendly and the booths are stylish and comfy

Mathew T.

Yelp
Excellent flavors and service! A must try. We had the vegetable rolls, coconut shrimp, spicy Thai fried rice, grilled chicken over rice and thai iced tea. Delicious food, hope to be back soon!!!

Delaney O.

Yelp
Amazing food and great service . Hidden location right off the road, should have a waitlist ! We got the Bangkok dumplings, shrimp pineapple fried rice and the Pad See-Eaw. 10/10 recommend . Well priced too !

Kiks L.

Yelp
Very unfortunate experience today having been a customer for many years. Both of the chicken satays we ordered comprised of chunks of chicken put together on a skewer with fat and tendons .... Completely inedible... if they were out of chicken they should have been honest. It's not right to take scraps from cutting room floor and pass it on to customers.

Harry T.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of having lunch at Thai Basil yesterday afternoon. The service was superb. We had the egg rolls, drunken chicken noodles and papaya salad. Everything was simply outstanding. Thank you so much.

Nhi V.

Yelp
some thai dishes and the pho aren't really authentic but it's not bad. i got the drunken noodle and it barely had any vegetables besides some carrots. pho had snow peas and broccoli in it. overall this place is OK.

Brennan B.

Yelp
Amazing food and amazing spot! Loved the mango curry and drunken noodles. They are under new management and everything is truly top notch. Can't wait to come back!

Alex F.

Yelp
I am so sad to write this review. I used to LOVE Thai basil. The food was always phenomenal. They are under new ownership and have discontinued the BEST drunken noodle in south western CT. We also ordered curry and it's so much rice and very little veggies/meat. Please please go back to your old ways. I need that drunken noodle back in my life.

Sam K.

Yelp
Two stars should say it all, but I'll add a little more detail for you. The food - it's not good. I ordered a money bag, which is a type of dumpling shaped like money bags. It looked fine, but the problem is that it tasted like fried chicken nuggets. Can you imagine eating a dumpling at a Thai restaurant and thinking that it tastes like fast food? Yea, not good! I also ordered their ginger dish with chicken. Also, not good. I came with my sister in law who tried the green curry and that was a little better, but not by much. Service - so we had an odd experience. When we entered the restaurant there was no other patron there. So, we asked if we could sit at a spot at the front. We were told that the spot we chose was meant for four people and since we were just two, we could not sit there. Interesting enough, when two white people came in, the same server who said we could not sit there, decided to seat the two white patrons in the spot we originally requested. Now, I'm not one to claim prejudice, racism, or whatever. And sure, I know full well that almost all Asian cultures despise dark skin, Thai obsessions included. But then again, some people are just plain rude and nasty. So, I can't say definitively what happened here, but the optics of this situation really makes me wonder. No matter what, I can say this for sure - THIS PLACE LEFT A BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. Would I, after this experience, ever come back here to terrible tasting cuisine and questionable service? ABSOLUTELY NOT! So, it shouldn't surprise you that I won't recommend this place. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down soon - I see no value to anything they have to offer.

Yelp
We have eaten at many Thai places across the tristate area and this was EASILY the worst dinner we've ever had. The yellow curry was 75% onions. The Thai sticky rice was dry and flavorless. But worst of all was the chicken mixture that was meant to be part of the lettuce wraps. The mixture looked like dog food and tasted WORST. I am serious - I would rather eat dog food that the sawdust chicken that was served to us. I rarely post bad reviews but this was beyond the pale.

Manato O.

Yelp
I got green curry pork which is level 3 spice and it was very delicious! There was a big variety of food that we were able to order from and I will definitely recommend here!

Mike K.

Yelp
Nice little asian bistro in very walkable Greenwich. I've stopped here a few times now and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. They don't seem to get a lot of dine in customers but there is a steady stream of takeout. My last visit was a bit disappointing. I ordered the ginger wok stirfry with scallops. The scallops were plentiful and perfectly cooked. However, there was too many slices of basically raw ginger sprinkled all over the top. I've had this dish many times at other thai restaurants and the ginger is always cooked well. Ginger is very pungent raw and overpowering. You don't need a lot of it to impart flavor and it should be better incorporated into the seasoning sauce by cooking it! I really should have sent it back - but I was so hungry and needed to get back on the road. Unfortunately, I struggled with acid heartburn as a result.

Yelp
This is the best Thai restaurant in Fairfield County! We have been coming here for years. It's a great place to go after or before seeing a movie at the theater across the street. My favorite dish is the mango curry with pork, which has a totally unexpected flavor! Over the years, I've also had shrimp pad thai, veggie dumplings, tom yum soup, green coconut curry, drunken noodles, and coconut soup. We have never been disappointed in the food or had a bad experience. The only slight complaint regarding the food is that the pork tastes like chicken. I can't think of any complaints regarding the service. The servers are always attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. The ambiance is interesting. The dark paneling definitely puts you in mind f a jungle atmosphere. Children might be interested in looking at the collection of currencies from around the world by the cash register.

Jay D.

Yelp
I had a great time dining here for lunch. There is an extensive menu and I found the flavors delicious. I started off with the curry puffs and money bags, and had the grilled pork chop, which came with some very tasty noodles. The pork chop was juicy and had very good flavor. The service was also great. The place is pretty small so you may want to make reservations for dinner. I look forward to returning.

Zack V.

Yelp
I ordered the Drunken Noodle and was expecting a spicy dish. I also typically ask for Thai hot just in case so they know to increase the spicy level. The drunken noodle that arrived had hardly any spicy which was a huge disappointment. It's the main reason I order this dish.

Mitch C.

Yelp
We have been picking up from here once a week for a few years, and absolutely loved the food. They appear to be under new ownership (as of about a month ago), and the food is not the same - last two meals were definitely off from what we were accustomed to. We are going to take a break and check out some other thai spots while Thai Basil (hopefully) gets their act together

Brynn J.

Yelp
They used to have the best Thai food in town, ordered at least monthly since they opened. This weekend I had the worst experience and threw away most of my order. The spring rolls tasted like cheap frozen ones from the grocery store and the drunken noodle was super salty and missing the flavors that make it drunken noodles. Very disappointing.

Jane J.

Yelp
I went there for lunch with my friends. I love the Vietnamese grilled chicken. It's authentic Thai food Thai Basil is my favorite spot.

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Not friendly for kids. Only one waitress on board during Thursday dinner time. Especially it's a rainy night. We have waited for ages to get a table and another 10 years to order, endless times for getting our food. The food was okay. Nothing special and hard to compare with any Thai restaurant in Manhattan. Disappointed.

Deena S.

Yelp
Oof, the drunken noodles were inedible. Glad I had leftover spaghetti in the fridge. Spring rolls were fine!

Angela D.

Yelp
I honestly don't know why this place was empty when I got there because the lunch special was so filling! the waitress was quite but very fast (:

Constance O.

Yelp
I used to come here a few times. It's been awhile. Boy is it bad. Dumplings had no taste. Noodles had no taste , chicken with noodles probably cooked in it for 3 + days. Dried out and tough. Worst is these little black flying bugs. Constantly waving hands to get them away but they still got into $17 drink several times. Couldn't finish the drink when I finally had 3 of them swimming in it . No wonder the place is empty. It's really terrible and awful experience and a very big waste of money. I'm on my way home now but literally feel itchy . ugh!

David W.

Yelp
Reliable Thai food in Greenwich with many different Thai and even Chinese/Vietnamese dishes on menu

Ben B.

Yelp
It's real Thai. Not Chinese masquerading as Thai. I'm sure it's Americanized, but I think the ingredients are authentic. Fast delivery.

Bill J.

Yelp
After having just reviewed Little Thai Kitchen, I can confidently say that the food quality at Thai Basil is slightly better. The dishes are a bit more authentic, though smaller in size (the two restaurants feature similar prices). One of my favorites was the crispy duck, which feature an array of flavors that succinctly combined Thai and traditional duck to make for a superb dish. However, I was a little disappointed with their service for delivery. On one occasion, I ordered right after opening time, around 11:05, and it took over an hour for the food to arrive. Yet, whenever I order from Little Thai Kitchen, the food comes in 35-45 minutes, despite LTK being further from my usual delivery address. Moreover, Thai Basil isn't covered on the DashPass, making it less appealing to order from than LTK. The owners should consider matching the competition.

Maureen G.

Yelp
Food was ok. Good portions. I thought my food was cold, but was told it was fresh and just cooked. Didn't want to argue further. Asked for simple things and it seemed like such a bother. Went on a weekend night and saw only 2 people here but a lot of take out? So maybe it's more of a take out place.

Nandana N.

Yelp
It's been two weeks since I had Red curry with beef from this place and I still can't get over it. The curry base was so yum! The portions are so huge too. I like the interiors of the place and the impeccable service too. There's only one lady running the ship, but she's got it all covered. Special s/o for using all glass utensils for water and the drinks. There's nothing not to like about this place. Would love to go here again, can totally see why it's so popular.

Maggie C.

Yelp
The Pad Thai was not great... the noodles were very pale in color and had no flavor at all. My boyfriend got the drunken noodles which was slightly better than the Pad Thai. Thai iced tea was good and I like how they use paper straws for takeout/delivery. I would not get food from here again.

Nikki M.

Yelp
This was delicious. We arrived late one Friday evening and they had closed the seating area but we ordered and ate in the car and it was delicious! The lettuce wraps were fresh and flavorful. We would defiantly go back!!!

Tim M.

Yelp
Drunken noodles with pork with extra spice and a Singha beer. Noodles were flavorful and filling, and came with red pepper, onion, and carrot. Service was excellent, and atmosphere was pleasant. Would come back here again.

Travis S.

Yelp
Screwed up my order and called to see if they could have it fixed and they said no sorry we can fix it but you can come back to the restaurant to pick it up. My order was delivery. Poor customer service for a restaurant on Greenwich

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We've tried many Thai restaurants in southern westchester and southern CT and this is the best: the food is delicious! The service fast and kind. My favorite dish is pad woon sen. Money bags as an appetizer and the mango coconut sticky rice is soooo good!

Moksha V.

Yelp
After spending a lovely afternoon shopping on Greenwich Avenue, we ended our day by having our dinner at this place. We tried the Spicy fried rice and the Thai green curry. Both were absolutely fabulous! We also requested them to make it vegetarian without adding fish sauce and they obliged. Lovely team of people! Great place to grab a quick lunch or dinner!

Casandra P.

Yelp
We took a random drive and decided to stop at a small restaurant to show support with businesses losing so much busy these days. The location was following social distancing and provided hand sanitizer as well. Waitress was very polite and food came out in a timely fashion. That is what we are giving two stars for. My partner and I found the food to be over seasoned and fish was cold and not appealing to the eye. Unfortunately, I wish them the best but i will not be returning to Thai Basil.

MJ F.

Yelp
Just the best. Drunken noodles with tofu are the absolute best. Miss it every time i'm gone to college

Victoria K.

Yelp
Best curry Ive ever had. Love coming here for lunch and dinners. Definitely recommend!

Thomas M.

Yelp
Great restaurant to eat in and outside in the fall and winter they have heaters on the outside to help keep you warm . The food is great . The staff is too . I will definitely eat there again .

Amanda I.

Yelp
Delivery service/order through YELP big plus! We had the cheesy stars for an app which were decent. Very similar to a crab Rangoon but with more filling. Also had the wonton soup which was full of flavor and fixings and the wonton was nicely cooked within the broth. Now if you are into spice you will want to make sure you go for spice within your meal. Spicy Fried rice must be set to at least medium to spicy to indulge in the right flavors. The Pad Thai noddles the same. As always a lot of food packed into a small container in which you can't eat all of it. Quick and easy.

Michele L.

Yelp
Chose this restaurant based on some very good reviews. My friend and I almost didn't go in though because the ambiance and neighborhood left a bit to be desired for a Greenwich,CT address. However, our other friend had already been inside waiting for us so we joined her. Well, the moral of the story is, "Don't judge a book by it's cover!" We thoroughly enjoyed all our dishes. Very tasty and presented nicely. The Panang Curry with chicken and Tom Yum Goong noodle soup were very good. If you care more about enjoying the food and less about the ambiance and want delicious Thai food, I would recommend Thai Basil.

Ajay M.

Yelp
Food cold!! Delayed by over 45 minutes, here is the kicker, they did not even add the right order (missed one item completely) Not going back there ever. Inefficient, disorganized

Debra F.

Yelp
Sister restaurant to Little Buddha on Summer St, Stamford.lovely staff. Orders prepared and ready at agreed time. Very accommodating with extra utensils . Generous portions.

May K.

Yelp
Food is excellent and also is the service. I recommemd this restaurant to all my friends who live in the area. They also have delivery option!
