"The Southern Nevada Health District closed Thai Original BBQ at 4180 S. Jones Boulevard after finding unsanitary conditions during a routine inspection on January 3. Inspectors found a trench measuring two feet by two feet covered by a greasy piece of plywood in the kitchen, as well as grease overflowing into the sewer. The restaurant remains closed. The health department previously closed the restaurant in 2015." - Susan Stapleton

Lots of flavor in each dish! We got the combination drunken noodles with chicken and shrimp and the duck noodle soup. Duck was a little on dry side, but still good! Best prices around and amazing service!

Food never fails on flavor! One of the best in town. I will drive here every time I want thai food!

Let me just say this was an excellent experience. Service was great! We ordered the beef satay and bbq pork for lunch. Very tasty. The cabbage soup was delicious too. The mango and sweet sticky rice was shaped in a heart. So friendly and helpful with ordering. I can’t wait to go back for dinner.

This visit was the worst of all our trips in Vegas. It’s located in a strip mall and the interior is very dated. There were tips in the cushions in our booth. The food was hot and fast but lacked both good presentation and good taste.

Google
Great customer service but I noticed some things has changed. The food portions is not much for the flimsy brown box it came in. I enjoyed the location in California. The barbecue ribs S2 appeared to be a little old . The meat was dried and dark at the bone. The taste in a bit off from California. Other locations only add two shrimp to the rice and that's a bit cheap. It's a new day in time, 3 or 4 shrimp would be nice. Overall good food!

Google
We been happy before but now it’s really disappointing. Chicken is cold like left over and dry the rib portions are not the same as before. It’s too small now. We been going in LA and it’s not same at all. The fried rice is small portion. We were disappointed the last 2 visits. Not recommended anymore

Google
Good food, very friendly, very clean place ! I have to try the Tom Yum Soup. I ordered the BBQ Ribs, its come with rice and the rice have 2 shrimps, really good, and I almost forgot, it came with small portion of soup, really good by the way!

Google
The food was amazing and delicious! I love the sturdiness of the cute to-go container and the food presentation was outstanding! I ordered the sliced bbq pork with rice. It came with cucumbers (sliced & carved), a boiled egg. I also ordered the garlic spareribs. It was another masterpiece! The portions were huge! The peach drink and the mango drink were delicious and the cups are a large serving! I'm so glad I stumbled across this place! Definitely will be back every other week until I've tasted the whole menu! Oh and the staff was friendly, helpful and professional! The interior and exterior was clean. Really is a great spot with great food cooked by great people!

Yelp
This place is a true hidden gem! If you're craving amazing Thai BBQ at great prices, look no further. The food is always on point--juicy, flavorful Chicken BBQ, tender short ribs packed with smoky goodness, and of course, the perfect finish: sweet mango with sticky rice. Every bite is just so satisfying. What really makes this spot special, though, is the service. Jenny is an absolute rockstar--welcoming, attentive, and always making sure you have everything you need. You can tell she genuinely cares about the customers, which makes the whole experience even better. Affordable, delicious, and run by people who love what they do--this is the kind of place you keep coming back to. Five stars, no question!

Yelp
Thai BBQ is one of my all time favorite food spots. This is one of their last locations in Vegas - I remember having Thai BBQ when they had their locations in the Arts District and on Maryland. The S1 is my favorite to get, because the rice mixed with the sauce is a flavor that can't be beat. I have yet to find another place with the same flavor as their rice.

Yelp
Thai Original BBQ was my favorite Thai Restaurant in L.A. on 3rd St or Western Ave locations. I was thrilled that they're in Vegas when I moved here long time ago. I just love all their signature dishes. That cucumber salad is the perfect complement to any meal and of course the unique flavored Thai Fried Rice is a must have. Too bad this Jones Blvd location is far from me so I can't dine here as much as I wanted to. They are welcoming & great service. I happen to be around the area so I picked up my favorite S-8 Beef Sate Dinner to-go. Cravings satisfied!!!

Karin H.

Yelp
I have been coming to this spot since I was a kid! I used to go to the downtown location when it was still around. I am happy to say the food hasn't changed since then and is still decisions! We had the chicken pad Thai and the bbq chicken dinner. I think we waited maybe 10 minutes so service was really quick. One thing I would change if I could is the restroom is not in the best condition.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! Our server was polite and attentive. No matter what you order, the food has so much flavor.

Patricia J.

Yelp
This place never fails! Been going there for a decade or more. Tried other Thai restaurants but Thai BBQ always takes the cake!

Olubunmi A.

Yelp
The food was amazing!!! Large portion sizes. Good customer service. Delicious food. Fast service. The decor and furniture were old but the food was so good we quickly forgot the decor.

Leslie M.

Yelp
I would first like to say that the service was very good at this restaurant. I have been to Thai barbecue in California, and was hoping it would be the same. The food was OK, not like I remembered it in California. We all pretty much ordered the same S2 Which is pork ribs and shrimp fried rice combo. They changed the dipping sauce and none of us cared for it. You do get one free refill with your Thai tea or Thai iced coffee so that's nice. We also ordered pork pad Thai, which was mediocre also. They did sing me happy birthday and gave us a free coconut rice, dessert. The servers were very nice and very attentive. I would consider coming back if they went back to their old recipes.

Agnes Z.

Yelp
Food is good but the owner is a cheater and will over charge you if you order to go or catering they cut into half and put vegetables in the bottom so they can put less meat. I order half trays and still half of the half try that I order this is not worth it too many good restaurants in Vegas for them to cheat the regular customers. They're different from Thai bbq from California it's not the same service poor customer service lady supervisor is rude don't waste your time going to this restaurant kitchen are dirty you can see it from the counter.

Yelp
This review is for my favorite dish 6 satay sticks w shrimp fried rice. Sometimes I'll get 3 chix 3 steak or most of the time it's 6 steaks all depends on my mood that day. I've tried their Tom Kha soup, Pad Thai, bbq chix and bbq pork ribs they are all just OK it won't blow your mind or your tastebuds because they're just ok. The satay sticks n shrimp fried rice dish on the other hand is my fav it's a home run imo! it goes for about $17 out the door that's my "go-to" they're pickled veggies w cucumber jalapeño r good but sometimes they're super watery and they will charge u xtra for it if u ask for xtra the peanut sauce is not bad compliments the bbq sticks well along w pickled veggies. Ambience is fine smallish dining area gets crampy in there especially when it's full so I just grab take out. Customer service pretty good.

Yelp
This spot has existed at this location for a long time! Their summer rolls were delicious and my partner really enjoyed his curry. I feel like I wasn't vibing with my tofu pad see ew, but I'm open to come back and try a different dish for myself. What really sold me on this place is the sticky rice and mango dessert. It was so amazing and honestly it felt like a piece of Thailand in my mouth.

Rj R.

Yelp
Great service!! Always our go to Thai spot, and the food is some of the best Thai. Will definitely be back

Eloisa T.

Yelp
Nowhere near original Thai bbq in LA DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL! I asked for cucumber sauce and they didn't even give it to me just because I did not order satay. The ribs tasted old it had a smell. The chicken was dry, they just smothered sauce in it. No quality at all.

Rio P.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place after the Original Thai BBQ on Maryland Pkwy closed down years ago. We ordered the S1 (bbq chicken). That was not it! They smothered the chicken with bbq which isn't how we remembered it. The side sauce was pink and it was so sweet it tasted like syrup. Overall the food was very disappointing. The restaurant seemed ok, but the smell of the incense burning was overwhelming and it made me sick. The only plus to this place is that our server was really nice and greeted us with a smile. Overall, that's not enough reason for us to come back.

Eric A.

Yelp
Im very disappointed. This was my go to when I have friends and family come from out of town.

Alan P.

Yelp
Quick, friendly and attentive service set the stage for this gem. Opted with medium spicy (5/10) for Pad Thai Noodle, with chicken. Delicious. The spice factor was there but did not overwhelm subtle flavors of the dish. I would have preferred more chicken, perhaps opt for double meat next time(?) but that didn't stop me from cleaning the plate. Almost too full, I declined the mango sticky rice dessert that was so tempting.

Bread S.

Yelp
Really good food!! Amazing atmosphere and amazing customer service and the beef skewer is amazing!!

L D.

Yelp
Man, it has been a while since I eat here. From day one about 10yrs ago feels like home. Front staff to the amazing food is always great to be back. Jennie recall my order everytime I come. Thank you guys for being excellent!!! Love it!!

Jennifer Y.

Yelp
My kids grew up and remember how I always took them for dinner and lunch. It never changes is still the same. The cool thing about the restaurant you get unlimited Thai tea. The food is delicious. My favorite is Beef Satay with peanut butter sauce and Chicken red curry. The place has a cool vibe and is simple. The customer service is awesome always friendly and welcoming.

Art V.

Yelp
stay away from this place if you don't wanna get poisoned, they use cheap meat and horrible ingredients. Not sure how this place is still open. We paid for everything and left. The place was completely empty at a busy lunchtime.

Tiffanie E.

Yelp
Located south of Flamingo on Jones, this little restaurant is in a fairly quiet strip mall with a couple other businesses. The decor and seating is a little dated, and the bathrooms were kind of old and dingy, but the food was decent! Portions are big and the waitresses were kind. Be wary when ordering sodas tho. It is a can of soda for the price, no refills. Savor every drop!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Always a go to for thai foor. Had a party at my house. I got 7 orders of the beef satay with shrimp fried rice and 4 orders of pad thai and asked to place them in trays. So much food that fed the whole party and was still able to pack some food to go. I love it here been going to Thai BBQ for 20yrs now

Jena S.

Yelp
This place has been my go-to for Thai food but the food hasn't been as good lately. It has been a disappointment every time I order. Food lacks taste/flavor that even our pets won't eat them so they just end up going to waste. I wish they would bring Original Thai BBQ back...

Alvie L.

Yelp
Food: They have all the Thai staples and they do them efficiently well. Portions are decently sized relative to price, and lunch specials are a great deal here. Bonus points for their chefs fielding a custom request for me and making Tom Kha noodle soup at a custom spice level with pork larb added, which was every bit as good as I thought it would be (and I've since ordered it twice). (4.5/5) Ambiance: Well-lit with comfortable booths, clean spacious tables and nice wall decor. Can get loud when it's crowded with families on weekend nights, but otherwise not much to nitpick about. (4.5/5) Service: This is where they really shine. The Thai aunties here are always friendly, energetic, welcoming and attentive. Of the 10+ times I've been here, they have never not been in a good mood to make the dining experience more pleasant. (5/5) My personal favorite dishes: Tom Yum & Tom Kha noodle soups (especially in the winter), green curry, basil chicken, crab rangoons, beef w/ bell peppers. This place is also my go-to spot for Thai delivery in this neighborhood, and the food has always arrived at my place still hot and served with all the fixings. It's probably not a Thai joint worth driving across Las Vegas just to visit (a la Lotus of Siam), but if you live in Spring Valley or you're passing by West of Strip during the lunch hour then you will NOT be disappointed with anything you order from this place.

Laura A.

Yelp
Best Thai BBQ ever. Chicken and Pork Ribs falls off the bone. Great seasoning and always consistent. Service is always quick and pleasant. They have the lunch special with soup, salad, rice and 2 pieces of meat. $9.99 for Chicken and $10.99 for pork ribs. Ambiance is good and clean and they are usually busy for lunch. Thai iced tea here is the best and has one refill.

Nette C.

Yelp
Thai BBQ is not the same anymore. I ordered the S3 Rama shrimp and my husband ordered S1 BBQ Chicken. Both food does not taste like how they used to be.The chicken did not have that grill and marinated taste, even their original Thai barbecue sauce is not the same. The Rama shrimp, the shrimp used to be plump and big with buttery sauce, now the sauce has a gravy texture and doesn't taste buttery. Their service was wonderful .

Jesus T.

Yelp
I came across this restaurant when I was craving some delicious food and I decided to order. So glad I ordered here. I called in my order and they had it available for pick up in 15 minutes. I drove over and it looks like they had ample parking. Always a plus. Everything I ordered was on the bag ready to go. The inside was clean and the staff was really nice. I ordered again two more times from here and I got the same great service all 3 times. I will definitely be coming back.

Michael C.

Yelp
Is ok, but service very slow during lunch time. The food lack of Thai food taste. Maybe it will be different eating in instead of taking out.

Mark A.

Yelp
Used to be great many years ago. Seems ownership change has changed their ingredients as well. Dining room was updated

Amy D.

Yelp
My absolute favorite Thai place. I'm just sad I live across town and can't go as often as I would like!

Anton C.

Yelp
This is not the original thai bbq. I ordered the S1 and it was not the same as the original. They just basted it with bbq sauce. The boba in the thai tea was hard! Don't waste your time to dine in here. Fake!

Edgar V.

Yelp
I wanted to like it but it wasn't that good. I came in tonight and ordered the pad Thai and bbq chicken dinner. The pad thai was bland and dry. The bbq chicken dinner came with 4 pcs of chicken and the house fried rice. The rice was strangely sweet and bland, but the bbq chicken was juicy and full of flavor! Overall was disappointed and would not recommend.

Maryrose M.

Yelp
1 star for the beef padsee-ew cuz it was the best dish yet not that great. I hate to say this but hated even more to eat this but what is supposed to be their most popular dish (S1 bbq chicken) tasted spoiled. Seems like it was smothered with soo much bbq sauce to mask the horrible taste. The Tum Yum Soup was funky too!!! Oh, and the pineapple fried rice was a waste as it was soo bland that white rice would've been alot better. I grew up in California where this place started and it really sucks that the only location in Vegas puts the name to shame. I'm honestly surprised they are still around but I'm pretty sure that funky spoiled taste is what I'll always remember.

Fuckoff G.

Yelp
4 wings in order that cost 20 dollars The food is good but definitely not worth the price anymore Time to revise menu if that is case No wonder the restaurant is empty more and more now

Crystal L.

Yelp
This place has a hole in the wall feel even though it's a on a main street. Ordered the papaya salad, pad thai, and bbq chicken. The papaya salad was good! However the pad thai was sweeter and had more of a lime taste than what I'm used to. It is good in it's own way but be warned it's definitely on the sweet sour side than savory. But there main bbq chicken dish was to die for. It was cooked perfectly with a crispy sauce outside. The even provided a dipping sauce for it which made it heavenly. The price of all the dishes together was decent but the charm of this place is their free refillable thai tea! We also got the mango sticky rice dessert which was so warm and tasty! Overall a great find!

Queen J.

Yelp
Saw an Instagram post for this place and decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! We got the pork ribs over fried rice and chicken pad Thai. So, so good and will definitely be back to try more things.

Vee L.

Yelp
Just like old times. I first ate at thai bbq in DTLV about 20 years ago. I've always only ordered their bbq chicken plate and their recipe hasn't changed over the years. I've frequented this location and the one on Maryland parkway after the DT location closed, however, it's been years at least 10 years since I've been back. I ordered a lunch special through yelp before the store even opened and it was ready for me at 1145, as stated. The staff were really nice and had all the necessary supplies in the bag. $9.99 for a breast/wing, along with fried rice and salad was a good deal and def satisfied my lunching needs.

Karina R.

Yelp
The best pork ribs ever!! My number 1 Thai place! It's just too bad that it's so far from my house so I'm not able to go as often as I would like.

Rodel Tolentino ..

Yelp
Food is awesome and the service is excellent! Their lunch specials are reasonably priced, cooked and flavored well. We will visit this place again when we're nearby.

Damiar S.

Yelp
whole restaurant treated me unfair because they assumed I was black and discriminated against me the food I ordered was a Thai fried rice with shrimp took 1 hour to make and they kept staring at me as I waited and ate my food like they were assuming I wasn't going to pay. Food wasn't worth the wait and I'd. never return here again

Pat P.

Yelp
We have been coming here for probably 20+ years. This is a hidden little gem in a small strip mall next to a bar and a convenience store. If you don't know it's there, you'd probably drive right by it. It's always had great food and great service which might be why it's stayed in business for as long as it has despite not being in a popular or busy location such as a large shopping center.

Trang F.

Yelp
This is a safe bet for someone who is new to Thai food. But for us, the flavors were not quite there. Let's start with the positives: Free refills on Thai ice-tea, saaweet! Food not too salty Chicken panang curry was really good. Decor is very non-distinguished for a Thai restaurant, but I do like that they were not too busy(?)...hmmm...is that good or bad. It's our first time here. We ordered beef larb, which again, for us, did not have enough fish sauce and was on the dry side, didn't have enough sauce. Didn't have cucumbers in it either. While we enjoyed the shrimp pad Thai, the portion was very skimpy for the dinner price. Doesn't salmon with tamarind sauce just makes your mouth water? While the salmon tasted fresh and cooked perfectly, I am definitely missing the tamarind in the sauce, which was too sweet, again, to me.

Joyce A.

Yelp
The food is great and delicious. The staff are good customers service and very friendly knowledgeable of the food. The best Thai food restaurant in the wo

Renai A.

Yelp
Okay, quick review because I tried something different... the egg rolls are freaking amazing! I ate 2 of the 4 driving home and they were so hot (heat) that I burnt my tongue, but I was totally okay with the collateral damage because they are delicious. It was full of meat meat meat. I no longer want egg rolls with filler from now on. Well actually, I'm ONLY eating egg rolls from THIS PLACE for the rest of my life! Oh we also had honey duck. My daughter loved it! And I have the 3 BBQ ribs. Everything was amazing and fresh and the fried rice is always full of flavor and fresh and delicious!

Jennifer F.

Yelp
Never again! I remember when this place use to rock and they had 2 locations. This time i have to say it totally was very disappointing. The 1 star is for being in the same location for years but even that it is dark and blah inside and needs some gearing up. The food is not even close to good. I am not sure about other peoples reviews. The only thing i enjoyed here was the Tom kha.

Lynn M.

Yelp
Long over due review. We have been coming to this place plenty of times for over 10 years and I can't believe I haven't written a review for them. Perhaps it's because I wasn't as an active yelper as I am now. It also seemed like they did a little bit of renovation as their restroom looked up to date and "newer" than when we were last there. (About 2 and a half years ago) the tables and chairs and booths(?) looked new as well as the lighting-It was a little brighter in the room than what I remember. Impressive. They are serious about SANITATION during COVID and clean/sanitize as soon as each customer leaves their table. Staff wear gloves and masks. They also do temperature checks when you come in, before you are seated. ANYWAY, I love their combination choices and usually get the BBQ ribs (S-2). It comes with a side of shrimp fried rice and sweet chili sauce. Delicious! You can't go wrong with their pad see ew as well. Of course you gotta order the Thai iced tea drink with your meal. Oh, it's FREE REFILLS! yes! They're not stingy with their drink. There's a dollar charge if you want boba with it. Customer service is great. Tonight's service was an attentive lady who came by our table several times to clear out our empty dishes and provide refills for our drinks without us even asking. I didn't catch her name, but she was really nice and sweet. I wish they had more dessert choices though. For example, they only have one ice cream flavor. (vanilla) I'm surprised they don't have Thai iced tea flavor or matcha. Overall, we will continue to come here again and again unless we are given a reason not to. :)

Jesy C.

Yelp
Will not be coming back to this place. The lady that served us our soup put it very close to my 5 year old daughter when there is still a place further in the table to put it too. I told her and she frowned at me. Food took long to be served and the serving appeared to be little than the usual amount when I dine here. I come in this place at least once every two months but now I will not be coming back. Poor customer service,

Rainier C.

Yelp
They're okay. If you came from Los Angeles and you moved here to Las Vegas, like we did, do not expect this place to be exactly the same. The portions are smaller but just as tasty and delicious. However, the determining factor in the BBQ category was the signature Orig Thai BBQ dipping sauce. I even buy a bottle of those when I was in LA. That was missing, and their L-1 was only a quarter instead of a half chicken. I did not check the S-1. I already got disappointed with the portion. The pad thai was also tasty and good but the portion was small. We ordered ala cart and I was hoping that with the price the portion would be the same as during dinner. It was only good for 1-2 people. The side soup they gave was delicious.

Rommel D.

Yelp
Made a reservation for my daughter's graduation, gave us a complimentary Pad Thai on the house which surprised me. Been coming to this place since we moved to Vegas since 1999. Glad they are still up and wasn't affected by covid. Will continue to come to this place for some good food
