Really, Really good food....First time ordered in person to go. Second time ate in for the lunch special. Third time ordered online to go. They are polite and quick over the phone and in person. Asked about the Sweet Thai tea at lunch and was offered a sample to try. The food was always fresh and very hot in house and to go. We've tried the Tom Yum Soup, Thai noodles Soup, Spring Roll, Crab Rangoon, Yellow Curry, Pad Woon Sen, Thai Fried rice without the tomato, side of brown rice and the Yellow Curry Lunch Special. Everything was ordered "mild". My favorite was the lunch special, for the variety of the soup, salad, meal, rice and spring roll. The Sweet Thai tea is refreshing, but may be an acquired taste for some. Only downside was not being able to order the extra brown rice side online, but was added in store and ready with everything else. If you like Thai, they won't disappoint.

Was encouraged by my sister Linda Clemons who is truly a foodie. She recommended the lunch special and she was right in the money. Talk about great food and value the Thai Cafe is definitely a home run. Service was phenomenal and the food incredible. The Pad Thai was on point and for less than $13 add soup and salad along with a spring roll. I can’t wait to come back to this very quaint and amazing establishment.

Google
I had the dine in lunch with Ginger chicken, rice, salad and soup. Everything was fresh and had plenty of spices! I’ll be back.

Google
Got the Pad see ew and also got some Basil fried rice. They don’t hold back when it comes to heat. Out of all the Thai places this is my GF’s favorite and we eat here once a week currently 😭 Good food for decent price

Google
We enjoyed our food and the variety. We got a lot rice and soup with our entrees. The dumplings came loaded! I loved the oysters/ mussels. No complaints about the food or price, just wasn’t as astonishing as other Thai places we have had. We will probably continue ordering since location and service is great!

James Lansberry

Google
food was amazing. Only mistake was ours: thinking that "hot" with two heat grades higher probably would be ok for us, but nope, it's actually hot. We'll stick with mild and medium next time. Every food item was top knotch in flavor and quality.

Google
First time Diner at the Thai Cafe. Will be back many times. Great lunch specials and generous portions. Bring your hunger because there is a lot of food.

Google
Great pick up service, in and out in minutes. Staff was helpful and friendly. Blue crab sushi had a little too much rice but otherwise balanced taste. The padd see ewe was spicy as desired, just lacking an amount of chicken with the dish. Would recommend this place.

Yelp
The lemongrass soup was AMAZING. Highly recommend. I also got the pad thai with spring rolls. Spring rolls were great, pad thai was decent, not my favorite. We did take out, but it was ready super fast on a Friday night and the inside seemed cozy and clean. Very friendly staff!

Yelp
This review is long overdue because I was there before Christmas, but got too busy to do it. This was my first time trying a Thai restaurant and I will definitely return! The place was warm and welcoming with wonderful lighting and decorations and pleasant music playing in the background. We started off with warm steamed edamame with sea salt on it that was very tasty. There was also crispy tofu that was fried tofu in the shape of triangles that came with a lightly spiced sweet and sour sauce. I loved the crispy taste of the fried tofu. It had just the right amount of coating without being overdone and it wasn't super greasy either. While I just had water to drink, my wife tried their sweet Thai iced tea. She very much enjoyed the tea. I'm not a big tea fan, but I tried a taste and I could see why she liked it. It was creamy and slightly sweet without being overpoweringly sweet. We both chose to have their Pad Thai with chicken as our entree. It's my wife's favorite dish and it sounded the most interesting of the choices based off what I normally like to eat. It had tender rice noodles stir-fried in a homemade lightly sweetened Pad Thai sauce with juicy pieces of chicken, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions, and crunchy peanuts. I very much enjoyed the combination of flavors and the crunchy chopped peanuts were a nice texture that went well with the dish. The server was very attentive, polite, friendly, and professional. The restaurant and the restroom both seemed very clean. We will definitely return!

Yelp
First time trying this place out and got take out. Sooo glad I did. The chicken fried rice was 10/10--perfectly cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. I got mild because I wasn't sure how spicy it would be, so I wanted to play it safe. Long story short I will be going with medium next time...I need some heat! But regardless was seasoned very well and really enjoyed it. The portion was generous, so I had leftovers. The spring rolls were also a highlight. I could tell they were made with quality ingredients, and they paired perfectly with the dipping sauce that came with them. Even though I got takeout, everything was packaged well, and it was still piping hot when I got home. The service was quick, and the food was packed nicely--no soggy spring rolls or cold rice. Don't sleep on Thai Cafe!

Yelp
I had a great time here! I went on a solo date and the food was amazing. All of my servers were super nice and made sure I had everything I needed. The service was fast and efficient. I would def go here again! I ordered the drunken noodles and spring rolls. They did NOT disappoint. Spice level was amazing (I got the level 3) and the rolls were fresh! I will def be back!

Yelp
Excellent Thai food for a cold and rainy Tuesday evening. Honestly the highlight of that Tuesday iykyk. I had the green curry and crab Rangoon. Both were great in my book. The green curry was really spicy even with asking for mild (am I the problem?). Online it said they were out of crab Rangoon but when I called it was available like manna from heaven. It was a little pricey for me but I also realized walking out the door that I tipped like a sit down meal... oh well. It was nice they had a dedicated pick up parking spot and that they're open on Tuesdays.

Yelp
I went to Thai Cafe for a lunch meeting with some of my coworkers. We were seated immediately and brought some water. I knew from the start that I had to try their lunch special because of how great of a deal it is! I ordered the Thai Fried Rice with pork and asked for it extra hot. My coworkers thought I was crazy!! I know Thai Hot is too hot for me, but usually, when I get Thai food, I get it medium or hot and am still not satisfied with the heat. This time, I wanted to get it right!! The soup came out first. I will be honest that I don't exactly know what kind of soup it is: some type of broth with scallions at the bottom? It was a good start. Not too heavy, but enough to get the meal started. Very soon after, the rest of the food came out. The rice was accompanied by salad and a spring roll. I started with the salad, and I was very pleased with it! Sometimes Thai restaurants use a dressing that is way too heavy on ginger. This one was a perfect blend and complimented the lettuce and carrot very well. I ate the entire salad. Next, I tried a bite of the spring roll dipped in the sweet sauce next to it. It was still super hot and steamy, but delicious! I moved on to the Thai fried rice next! It was PERFECT!! The pork was cooked so well, and the blend of vegetables in the rice was delicious. The spice level was great as well: enough to make my nose run, but not so bad that I can't eat it. I like pouring the spring roll sauce on my fried rice, and it was even more delicious after I did so. For a lunch special, it was a great amount of food. I ended up taking some leftovers home which was enough for a side to use with another meal. This one is taking its place as my #1 Thai restaurant near me. It was pretty quiet which made it a great place for a casual meeting, and we were there for a couple hours and never felt rushed. I would love to try for dinner sometime, but the lunch special is so good of a deal I am sure I will be back for it soon!

Yelp
I grabbed the Broccoli Oyster with chicken lunch special. Dine-in lunch comes with soup, spring roll, and salad, but since I did carry out, I did not receive the salad. The spring roll I received did not taste fresh, but the flavor was okay. The soup was tasty and was made of a broth with green onions and rice noodles. I was disappointed in my main dish. The chicken was lacking flavor of any kind. I chose extra hot for my heat level, and it wasn't too spicy. A jasmine rice would have accompanied the dish better, however the rice was simply a long grain rice. Unfortunately, I probably won't return.

Yelp
Okay. So ownership has changed within the past few months and sometimes that can help or hurt a business. In this case, I'd have to say that the change in ownership surely didn't hurt. It's the 1st day of 2023 and the new changes didn't disappoint. Everything was absolutely delicious!!! The appetizer changed in appearance, but the taste magnified!!! In the past, the crab Rangoon's were just alright. But now, they are the best!!! They came out fresh and tasty. I did notice some changes in the menu; out with the old and in with some new. The service was great! Not sure who the gentleman was, but he took my order and checked in within a reasonable amount of time. Update: Have visited again since and ordered the same thing. The only difference is I made a huge mistake in getting a 2 for my spice level for my fried rice. Talk about my nose runny and ears ringing!!! I will stay on the porch and stick with a 1 moving forward. Overall, Thai Cafe is my go to for Thai food.

Yelp
Thai Cafe is under new ownership so I had to stop in to try it. I'd always liked the old Thai Cafe. But I hadn't tried it in a while as they never fully reopened after the pandemic, and I don't do a lot of take out. The new owners haven't let the Thai Cafe down. The service is better than ever and the food was great. We both enjoyed our dishes. The spice level was perfect, everything was cooked well, and the presentation was good. I've always been a little put off by the heavy blue tint on the windows, but that's a minor quibble. Definitely stop in if you haven't been in a while. The Thai Cafe remains a Broad Ripple gem.

Yelp
I can't speak much to the ambiance of dining in since I typically order takeout, but I have not been disappointed! Every order has been really, really good. Great flavors all around and their Thai dumplings are outstanding! I will definitely continue to order from here! No pictures as I always devour it before I have a chance!
google avatar

Angel I.

Yelp
Fantastic service and even better food. The dining room is small but the ambiance is really nice.

Yelp
One of the best lunch specials in the city! It includes your generous lunch entree, a spring roll, and a light rice noodle soup. You can easily order online or call your order in. I love that they include eggplant in their green curry, as well. I'll be ordering on the regular!
google avatar

Eli R.

Yelp
I ordered carry out to eat at the hotel. It was very good and I'd definitely eat here again. I got an order of the spring rolls and the Spicy Bamboo (Pad Ped). I ordered the spicy bamboo Thai hot. I was expecting a good kick, but man this heat was beyond what I expected! However, even as hot as it was it still had great flavor!
google avatar

Yelp
I'm very pleased every time I visit this place. I always get my orders to go mainly because I always go alone but the service is always great. My food is so fresh and hot. Even when I get home it's still steaming. The Thai spice levels are no joke . I love hot food but I still do a 2 or 3. One of my favorite places to eat in Broad Ripple.

Stephen B.

Yelp
The food is so incredible. The spice levels are great. You can get mild and Thai hot. All is spectacular. Service is punctual but not in your face. Love this place.

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
I've gone here for years. The food is great but they have really raised their prices. Last night it was $16+ for a vegan pad Thai! Used to be like $12. Probably won't return.

Dayna M.

Yelp
This was the first time at this restaurant. The food was delicious with quick service. Restaurant had a cozy interior.

Pamela T.

Yelp
Best crab Rangoon ever!! Super service too! I asked for mild to medium. Next time will go with medium
google avatar

Sheryl A.

Yelp
These pictures are goofy but look how good these plates look! My sister and I were greeted immediately and no wait for dining. We had the orange chicken and "drunken noodle". The spice was just the right amount for what we request. We definitely recommend and will be coming back soon! It is a chill environment not loud at all.
google avatar

Tee G.

Yelp
Ok Thai cafe is carry out only but it is worth waiting to get it . It's so good the egg rolls . String beans beef or chicken. Drunken noddles magnificent. Pot stickers and veggie shrimp pick one all good with the sauce on top . Cannot wait to be able to sit down and enjoy it right off the stove top

Yelp
Carry out only during COVID, but worth every dime. We did four different Thai specialties, and each was very good, especially the ingredients. Asked for a couple of special additions, and it was done perfectly. Prices are reasonable for the area. Four complex orders were finished in twenty minutes. This used to be a small restaurant, but now they've partitioned it so that there's an entrance, pickup place, and that's it-- they have no ability to partition the sidewalk or parking lot into outdoor tables. No matter; we had planned a picnic at nearby Broad Ripple Park. Overall, a great experience, great food, and good value. Lots of variety here. Spicing is to the high side, so order low if that fact scares you. In my case, Thai Hot was outstanding.
google avatar

Caleb D.

Yelp
THE BEST GREEN CURRY I'VE HAD IN INDY. They have re-designed the place and it looks great. I wanted to order other stuff off the menu but the green curry was also too good to pass up. My wife always got drunken noodle and loved it. Check this place out!
google avatar

Bobbe N.

Yelp
Very good food and great service. I loved everything about this restaurant! I'm definitely becoming a regular!

Yelp
Ordered a few meals from here for lunch. Overall, good food and friendly staff. There is one big user experience flaw - placing an online order. Whatever you put in your cart - in the end, you can't just use Apple Pay or check out quickly as guest. You will asked to create a "Cortana" account and fill out 3 pages of information It is unavoidable unless you just call the restaurant. I'd love to see the owners update the website or simply switch to the "Toast takeout" app. Second, my order was not correct. Padd King was supposed to be noodles, but I found two boxes of rice in my bag instead, once I got home. There was no point driving back to get it fixed and it's hard to check the order upon reception since bags are sealed. On the bright side, the rest of the order tasted great and prices were ok. The location is pretty convenient and the food didn't take too long to prepare. For the above two reasons, I'm giving 3/5 and as things improve I will update the rating.

Yelp
I come here quite often for DoorDash but never ate here not being a Thai eater but to my surprise it wasn't that bad. While I was waiting for an order, I noticed on their menu they had an orange catfish, yes orange catfish! The same as the orange chicken but catfish! Was delish! Tasted just as the orange chicken would be but with the amazing catfish to make it even better. I ordered it meduim spicy which was right on point. The order came with white rice and soup but I am not sure what kind of soup it was, I didn't try it either. It seemed like a brother of some sort. All for $13 I also ordered some rangoons , now here is where they lost me. There was next to nothing in those rangoons. It was $7 for basically friend wontons. Very disappointed and wouldn't waste my money in buying them. Other than that, this place was decent. Smaller on the inside as far as restaurants go. Not big enough for huge groups but all places are worth a try.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Their Tom Yum soup hits the spot when your in the mood for Tom Yum soup. The crab rangoons are so-so.
google avatar

Karisia G.

Yelp
Ordered the panang and it was like a soup. Super thin which was really disappointing. In the description it's supposed to be thicker than the curry and I'm not sure if this panang sauce could get any thinner. Had to add flour to try and fix it.
google avatar

Sean W.

Yelp
We ordered takeout and the food came hot! The portions were big and the food was tasty. We got the chicken pad thai and picked 3/5 hot. The spice level was not bad at all, next time we will go with the 4/5 on the heat scale. We also got the thai dumplings which were very good. Can't wait to order again soon!
google avatar

Kristina J.

Yelp
Decent Thai restaurant in Broad Ripple. Good portions and friendly staff. The dumplings were unexpected because they had fried onions and some sort of sauce on them that reminds me of sushi. Not bad, but not exactly what I wanted either. The green curry was alright, but I should have asked to have it spicier. The rice pudding is ok, but nothing to write home about.
google avatar

Britney L.

Yelp
The only thing that keeps this place from the five star review is this location. It's located in a strip mall type set up, but Broad Ripple shops are just a short walk away. I got the pineapple fried rice with chicken and the Tom Kha (coconut) soup. The soup was a bit sweet for my taste, but that's just a taste preference. I ordered medium heat, which was the perfect amount. I got a hit of heat without making my tongue sting. The fried rice was outstanding, and the chicken was tender. My son ordered crab Rangoon and chicken satay. He agreed that the chicken was cooked perfectly. Service was very friendly and prompt. Will return for sure!
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
This was my first time at Thai Cafe and quite frankly I've eaten at a ton of Thai restaurants. Well Thai Cafe has added itself to the top of Thai favorites. I loved the atmosphere and the friendly service. The food was on point. I ordered their dumplings and it had its own special twist to it-topped like a sushi roll. My coworker loved them! I ordered the potato curry with chicken and I haven't stopped thinking about it since! It had so much flavor and heat, I was in heaven! Especially during these colder days! The soup was delicious as was the spring roll. To say the least I was a happy camper l!
google avatar

Amy L.

Yelp
Reliably good Thai food and very generous serving sizes. I like the Pad Thai with chicken, and the steamed pork dumplings are served with a sweet sauce and crispy onions -- an unexpected, but tasty, touch. The Tom Ka coconut soup is fragrant and flavorful, but the last serving I got was too heavy on sliced onions, which made it a little awkward to eat with a spoon, and I bit into a unpleasantly woody piece of ginger.
google avatar

Jess H.

Yelp
I was around the area and my family and I were craving Thai food. We saw the great reviews and thought why not! The portions are very large. As other reviews stated, the pad se ew they make uses a different noodle than what is typically used. The sauce for this dish was too sweet for my taste. The green curry, chicken pad thai, and pineapple fried rice were very tasty. The lighting in the restaurant is a little weird, the lights are blue. The server was very nice and was very accommodating. I would recommend this restaurant for a quick bite to eat.
google avatar

Kristine N.

Yelp
Good little Thai food place in Broad Ripple with a variety of foods. Along with your traditional American Thai food, they also offer sushi. I always try the pad Thai at every Thai place I go to. I like theirs (although my last trip it was a little bit too sweet and mushy, which isn't normally the case), and the portions are large. I also like the fried spring rolls and samosas. The samosas aren't as big as you might find at an Indian restaurant, but they're yummy and you get several of them to munch on. I personally like the pad prik, which is a nice amount of spicy and they gave me a good portion of beef. It's small inside and last time I was there, it said pick up and delivery only, but there was a guy eating at a table by the window. Most of the other tables were blocked off.

Yelp
Soooo- this isn't my 1st time visiting this Thai gem, I just wasn't as proficient with my Yelp game.A friend of mine got me hooked on Thai food by bringing me here in 2001, & the service has been exactly the same every time I've visited! From the amount of food, to the personality of the owners.... Call me boring, but I almost always stick to my usual Pad See Ewe (medium spicy, which has a kick but isn't extreme). You can choose from chicken, beef, or tofu (or shrimp for an additional $2.00).I almost always go for the chicken, but you may catch me on a shrimp kinda day too.Lunch time is very affordable, & you get soup or salad with your entree.I love the lemongrass soup, it is life! The prices vary from $6.99-8.99ish.Dinner prices are slightly higher, but worth it for the amount you get! I can't brag enough about the owners...They're always so polite, friendly, & FUNNY!It's definitely an interesting atmosphere with dim lighting- so it's a good date spot as well.Oh yeah, you have to try the Thai iced tea.It is definitely a yummy acquired taste!

Dipsikha B.

Yelp
We were in the area and were so excited to see Thai restaurant that had so many good reviews on yelp. Ordered Tom yum, panang curry and Red curry. We were told the spicy level is high so ordered 3/5 spicy level. When the food came, it was far from spicy side. Instead, everything was very sweet for our taste. Even the salad is sweet, but it was complementary. We ordered extra spicy sauce to balance the sweetness. Then, it became a little better.
google avatar

Gloria D.

Yelp
I came here for some lunch. Given my tonsilectomy it's been getting harder and harder eating plain liquids. I decided to order a tofu dish from this place and it was delicious! I can't chew that much, but the tofu is a great soft food that I can eat for a bit. The food was delicious and affordable. There's only carry out service, which is great. The place is beautiful and within a great area in Broad Ripple Shopping center. We didn't have any issues finding parking and walking towards the place. Our server was super nice and helped us right away. Our orders did take a while to make, so please keep in mind that once you place an order to wait 15- 20 mins. It's not a lot, but folks are different. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
I was out in the Broadripple area and hungry looking for somewhere I haven't eaten before and decided that on this cold, cold day Thai sounded just right! Thai Cafe is located in a small strip mall at the end of the Broadripple strip. The space is warm and comfortable. I was greeted promptly and seated. The menu was HUGE so I went with my old faithful Drunken Noodles with chicken add tomatos! I also tried Honey Ginger Tea which was hot and fabulous with the the perfect balance of ginger to give it a bit of spice and enough honey to give a hint of sweetness. My order came out fast with a Thai Salad to start. The dressing was perfect! The Drunken Noodles (Rice noodles, vegetables, sweet soy sauce, sweet basil & eggs choice of chicken, pork, beef or tofu) were yummy and came in a large portion for either sharing or taking home! I found them to be a little sweeter than other restaurants but I like sweet and spicy! The only improvements could be adding a little more basil as I didn't have a bite with that flavor and a little less sauce! I will have to try another dish on my next visit!

Yelp
It's 5:20pm on a Thursday and I tried both numbers, not answering phone?? I really want to support this local place.

Yelp
I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of Thai restaurants (Disclaimer: I've not been to Thailand, I just eat a lot of Thai food). I have my faves around town, and the ones I absolutely stay away from. I, admittedly, didn't go into this visit with high expectations but after reading a few reviews I was in. There were a few of us, so we grabbed a couple of entrees. My pics aren't great, the lighting is multicolored, which makes for interesting photos. But the food was spoke for itself. The menu is mostly Thai but has some fusion elements. We got spring rolls, orange chicken, panang curry and the salmon cream cheese sushi roll. The orange chicken was the best I've had. I am not a huge fan of the fish but this was good. The spring rolls were pretty standard. The curry was almost perfect. I asked for a 4 on the spice scale of 1-5, I could've gone for more spice. It was the perfect meal on a cold day.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in the city. The service is always nothing but amazing, it's family owned. Food comes out fast, very clean and cozy, and the murals on the wall are something you must see!
google avatar

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place. I ordered the Orange Chicken - medium, steamed dumplings, crab Rangoon and Tom Yum soup - medium. The orange chicken was very good, crispy and not overly sweet. I'd recommend that for sure. Dumplings looked pretty but didn't come with dipping sauce and were a little dry. The Tom Yum soup wasn't horrible, it actually was almost really good except it was a little on the sweet side and just not my preference. If you like sweeter Tom Yum soup then you'd like this. Lastly, don't order the crab Rangoons at all. They were horrible and had barely any stuffing and the sauce almost ruined it and tasted stale and was very thick. So it was alright. I'd go there again only for the orange chicken but probably would pass as it wasn't amazing.

Samuel N.

Yelp
This restaurant is phenomenal. My girlfriend and I have tried multiple items on the menu including the pad kee mao , red curry , ginger lover , and sukhotthai ; all have been extremely delicious. We also tend to get an order of the Thai dumplings which are chalk full of pork & carrots and come which a delicious dipping sauce. I sincerely hope you try this place because it is a gem and I will be coming back again and again no matter where I live in Indy.

Charles C.

Yelp
We did a carry out-portions were adequate and tasty-I will say that the lava curry tempura appetizer was most bland and unremarkable .

Jocelyn C.

Yelp
Ordered DoorDash. Asked for duck sauce, soy and hot mustard as 'special request' on two of the orders. Got an eye dropper amount of soy and NO hot mustard. Why is hot mustard like asking for gold?

Yelp
First time visit. Jay our wonderful waitress was awesome. She greeted us with a warm welcome and seats. She was very patient with attending to my sometimes demanding needs. We ordered spring rolls that have the perfect crisp, the kind that makes your mouth water. Crab ragoons with real crab and a yummy sweet chili sauce to pop them in before a bite. We also order calamari and some sushi. Everything was prepared perfect and came out exceptionally fast. It's nice to get your food sooner that you expect. Jay was attentive to all off our needs throughout the dinning experience. I was glad to try it for the first time. I will definitely go back because my drunken pad Thai was the best I've had in a long time.

Yelp
The interior is beautiful; catered for small group outings. The food is the best Thai cuisine I have tasted in Indianapolis! I recommend this place to everyone looking for an affordable, filling, and delicious meal.

Yelp
First thing you notice right away is that you are transported to a nightclub or rave party. The restaurant is very dark with black lights that highlight the art on the walls. The ambience is usually mellow, I have gone several times with there never really being big groups of people. The food is good, that is why I continue to go back. They are not kidding when they say Thai Hot, they mean it. I stay a good 3-4 in the spiceness level. All around good place that I continue to go back to and will continue to do so. The ambiance and decor is the only reason it's not "perfect". I personally like to see my food and I already wear glasses so have such a dark place disorients me a little. A great place to have pad thai or curries.

Yelp
Good lord, this place makes my. I've said it before and I'll say it again: noods. rizzy. kerr. Reminds me of a lonesome wild cat - cannot be beat. Great food and even better food. Never, and I mean never, trust a dog who does not have the fight in him, because you truly cannot take a dog at his word, or a dog at his turd, in this dog eat turd world. A+ food.
