Where to Eat or Drink After Hiking in Oregon | Eater Portland

"Despite the heartbreaking impact of the 2017 Eagle Creek fire, the waterfall hikes of the Columbia River Gorge remain some of the most beautiful — and popular — hikes in the region. On the way back, pull off I-84 and into quaint Troutdale for Thai Carnation’s harmony of flavors and generous portions, in a relaxed and spacious setting. Keep an eye out for lunch specials like the sweet-sour-savory three flavors halibut or spicy volcano beef. Thai Carnation offers limited outdoor seating on picnic benches as well as takeout seven days per week." - Nathan Williams

Really liked the drunken noodles. Very tasty and made with care. The service was very good and interior was clean. The location has homeless people around and they come inside and ask for money. Parking can be somewhat difficult to find but worth still checking out!

I asked for my food to be spicy and they made it exactly how I like it, I totally recommend this restaurant please come by if you're in the area. I ordered extra spicy drunken noodles with chicken. ✨🤤

I noticed a providence nurse eating lunch the other day, I asked what smelled so good, she said she ordered from Thai Carnation and I should try sometime. Well I did and wow! The best pineapple fried rice I’ve ever had. It’s was so good I ordered a second to go. The beer from Cascadia tap house in the same food hall was a great complement to a scrumptious Thai dinner.

Ordered the chicken satay and a pad Thai with chicken medium spicy. I feel like the medium spice was PERFECT but I like things spicy. It was on the edge of what was comfortable for my husband. If you aren't big on spice, order very mild. The satay was perfectly cooked, the peanut dipping sauce was very tasty, and the pad Thai was perfect. This is my new favorite Thai place in Portland!

This place makes Thai food in the Gateway neighborhood. The food is delicious. The Pad See Ew and Yellow Curry had great flavors. You can really taste the Wok Hei in the Pad See Ew. The staff are super nice as well and are always very helpful. Recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area.

Really delicious food and nice folks running it. I got the pad see ew for $15 and the tom yum for $14 which is far too much for one person I'll be enjoying it for two meals 😋 that is to say, the portions make me happy 😌 the food itself, also delicious. The pad see ew noodles were nice and bouncy with good flavor, and the tom yum is a perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and aromatic.
