Google
We never miss a moment to try a new Thai restaurant. We found one walking distance to our hotel. First off, we placed an order for take out and it was a friendly encounter over the phone. Really quick turn around. It’s always nice to experience how various spots make their version of fried rice. It’s one of our go to dish and it was delicious. We also placed and order of lobster balls and a seafood panang curry, which was creamy and flavorful. Food was amazing, so much so that we forgot to take pictures before we plate them. Decent portions and reasonably priced.

Google
The atmosphere of this restaurant is so warm and cozy! The food was amazing as well. I got the pad thai and it was so flavorful and had the perfect amount of crunch. However, the mango sticky rice is a game changer. I have thought about this mango sticky rice consistently since eating it and I would spend my entire paycheck on it if that were not unreasonable.

The owner is super chill and talented! She is very good cook and passionate about her work. Food is wonderful and tasty! I bet the best Thai food in Portland. I would recommend to everyone who wants authentic Thai food.

Google
The food we had was not good. However, the rolls were good. The chicken was dry and over cooked. The cucumber was hot. The homeless and drug activities was terrible. Drug needles all over.

Good place to have Thai food when in the west side of the downtown Portland neighborhood. We had the crispy egg rolls, son in law eggs (what a name!), Khao soy, massaman curry, Panang Curry and pad Thai. All in all, the food was very good. Decent portions, reasonably priced, fairly quick turnaround time and delicious food. I would definitely go back just for the Khao soy which was really really good. The only reason I'm dropping a star in the rating is coz of the service. The lady who served us messed up / forgot our order twice - once during the two starters we ordered and once during the entrees. And what made it more frustrating is that there was nobody else in the restaurant but our group, and so it wasn't like she had other tables to cater to. Next time we might just do take out or delivery. The lack in service is made up in some sorts by the excellent taste is everything we had today.

Google
Real Thai food, the yellow curry tasted so good, not so creamy just right amount of coconut milk, still curry tasty, with lots of chicken. Food portion is big. Good price consider it is located in downtown. Worth the price.

Google
Food is great - huge portions, comes out super fast and the food is very flavorful. I loved the khao soy with tofu- better than any I’ve had in Portland! Service is direct and simple. Idk why folks are complaining, I definitely recommend coming here for a meal.

Google
You can never really go wrong with Thai food. I’ve been to a couple of Thai restaurants in the city and they’re all great but this crab fried rice that I got was the BEST. I love fried rice and seafood! Can’t stop thinking about it. So delicious. Definitely recommend it! My husband really enjoyed what he ordered as well (forgot the name of it tho) Overall, will definitely come back. The service was awesome too.

Yelp
Amazing customer service + amazing food! I've been missing Los Angeles Thai food and this reminded me of home and surpassed my expectations.

Yelp
We ordered delivery for our first experience from Thai Chili Jam. We ordered the lemon grass chicken, chicken pad Thai, pot stickers and Kao Pad Pu (Crab Fried Rice). The food arrived well packaged and labeled. The lemongrass chicken was good but not as tender as hoped - this could be due to the delivery time and prepping before eating. Otherwise, the taste/flavor was good. The chicken pad Thai was great! Chicken was tender and well flavored. The noodles were equally as good! The Kao Pad Pu (Crab Fried Rice) was amazing and I will order it every time we get food here. Lots of veggies, crab and well seasoned. The pot stickers were good and the sauce that came with it was very flavorful. Overall, great food and we'll be back.

Yelp
Stopped by about a half hour before closing to order some takeout. While waiting the staff offered us ice water which was - in my opinion - above and beyond the service I expected as someone who was getting takeout. Ordered the basil fried rice and the pad thai, as when trying a new restaurant I stick to the basics and if they execute that well I'll get more adventurous on a second time visiting. I will definitely be visiting again. The pad thai was very good. Al dente noodles. Good balance of ingredients. Great price for what we got. Basil fried rice was very flavorful. Lots of veggies. I'm glad that my wife and I split two dishes even though one would have been large enough to split between us because both were so tasty!

Yelp
Food 3/8 Service;Good Ambiance... Questioning Tonight is pleasurable, sit @ table 3

Yelp
I have walked by Thai Chili Jam many times. The outside of the building is nondescript. But don't let that deter you from trying the delicious food served here. I have ordered delivery several times and always found the food to be fresh and full of flavor. My favorite items to order are the yellow curry and the Thai basil fried rice. Although every dish I've tried has been tasty and good enough to reorder. I like that they advertise that they are vegetarian friendly. They use no MSG and all dishes are free of Trans fat. Good things to know. Someday I will venture inside the restaurant to dine. Whether you dine in or order food to go, you'll enjoy your meal.

Yelp
Great food, amazing service! Visiting from LA so I'm a stickler on Asian food and this place did not disappoint

Cristin M.

Yelp
One of my favorite Thai places in Portland! Large portions that are consistent every time we go, and the service is always great!! Cute spot for lunch, and great service for delivery or pickup as well!

Kelley M.

Yelp
Came upon this Thai place by chance. When we took a look inside it was quaint, clean, and welcoming so we decided to eat in. We ordered the appetizer sampler plate with fresh and fried foods, and the pad kee mao with chicken 4* spicy. The food was fresh, it came out fast and it was super flavorful. It wasn't actually all that spicy so we asked for hot sauce and their chili trio was some of the best I have tasted in Thai restaurants. The experience was quick, staff super friendly and prices were relatively cheap. Would definitely come back and recommend to others. We ate all the food before thinking to take pictures because it was that good!

Angela P.

Yelp
This place was much better than expected. I have driven by it hundreds of times while getting on the freeway and never thought of stopping by. Our intention was to go to The Loving Hut next door but they were closed, so ended up here by default. The decor is simple, but the food was surprisingly good. We had Pad Thai, and The Seafood Delight, which was a little on the spicy side, but it wouldn't be Thai food if it wasn't spicy. It appeared there was one woman working the entire restaurant. Given how busy she was she was on top of things. Service was a little slow, but the restaurant was packed, so I give her kudos for getting everyone's order out in a timely manner. I overheard the table next to us comment that they wanted to help her out, as they also felt bad for her. If I knew anything about the restaurant industry aside from how to eat in them, I would have lent a helping hand too. Management please give the server that was working Sunday afternoon a raise, and get her some help.

Stephanie Lynne S.

Yelp
I accidentally found this place and keep going back. Generous servings of incredible food! I love their noodles. Always a quick and quiet server who checks on you enough to be helpful but not too much to bother you. Clean and quiet with beautiful decor. I love it here!

Ruochen W.

Yelp
We decided to come to this place spontaneously but were so pleasantly impressed. First and foremost, the restaurant owner is a queen. She was able to divide our group's checks perfectly and even consider the nuances of our appetizer splits. Plus, she's sweet and hilarious. We ordered 2-3s for the spice level but realize we totally should have heeded the restaurant owner's warning. The spicy levels here do not mess around! The house seafood was really delicious and my friend's jungle noodles, crab fried rice, panang curry, and beef salad were great too. The appetizer combo plate was altight. Highly recommend the chicken satay though! We're not Portland locals but would 100% recommend to anyone nearby.

Mark A.

Yelp
Food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to go for a lunch break or a nice dinner date! I like to get the Thai Chili Jam Specialty Curry (C6).

Stewart M.

Yelp
This seems to be an authentic local Thai restaurant, run by a Thai American family. The menu has lots of choices, easy to order, reasonable prices and the taste of the food was excellent. As good as what I have eaten in thailand. Recommended.

Jodi S.

Yelp
Found the place on a whim walking around. Tried their curry special and panang salmon- both very good Also added the pad eggplant and was pleasantly surprised by the good flavors. Service was excellent and overall a very good experience.

Amanda F.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for an early lunch and were starved on a Saturday morning. We started off with the Thai Salad rolls as an appetizer. The waitress was extremely nice to us after I shared my love for Thailand and spice. She had suggested to take some of the chili sauce and add it into the peanut dipping sauce. This was the best recommendations! For my main course, I had the green curry with a combination of seafood. The portion was just the right size for lunch. It was tasty and I had added even more spice to get it to my liking. My husband ordered the Thai Chili jam Specialty Curry with chicken. I thought it was way too creamy but he enjoyed it. Overall, a decent Thai place within the Portland area.

Yelp
TL;DR: Quick service, par-for-the-course pricing, mushy wide rice noodles Ordered takeout from this restaurant earlier this week. Thai food is our go-to for easy nights in. We both ordered Pad See Ew (rare for us to order two of the same thing), but one mild and one spicy. Both orders came quick and hot, but the noodles seemed over cooked and when we tried lifting it up with chopsticks, it just tore through them and eventually with mixing it all around, it turned the food into mush. It was tasty, but made it hard to eat, the more I ate. I would try this place again, but I'm gonna try somewhere else for a little.

Ploy N.

Yelp
Nothing out of the ordinary, as long as you're not looking for highly authentic Thai food, this place won't disappoint. The food here is what you'd expect from a standard American Thai place. Everything is a bit sweeter and heavier than how it should be but still offers that familiar sense of comfort. The dishes came with jasmine rice which was nice. Ordering online and picking up was super fast and easy. Staff was nice and friendly. A good takeout spot with decent food and portion.

Sammy J.

Yelp
I forgot to add on my previous review that when I returned to the restaurant to return my order that had been made wrong, I was given a lecture by the woman (I assume the owner) behind the counter, and made to feel as if I was the one in the wrong for not stating to her that I did not want a particular item in my dish. That it was MY FAULT for not anticipating that they would put an ingredient in it that was not listed as being included in my noodle dish. She was very rude and condescending. When I got my new order and went home to try and eat it, even though I didn't want to after the ordeal, I discovered the order was WRONG AGAIN. Waste of time and money, this place. There are plenty of better places to spend your money on food downtown. Avoid this gross place.

Tamara C.

Yelp
Thai Chili Jam is so my jam. I know what a lame pun but it is so true. I just can't stay away. I swear I order about once a week on Grubhub. The reason I choose this Thai restaurant over all others is pad Thai with scallops. I just can't find scallops on the menu at any other Thai place. What's more, they are generous with the precious and delicious scallops and the dish is very reasonably priced. It's comparable to a prawn pad Thai elsewhere. Delivery is rapid fire too. Even after all this pandemic nonsense is over I'll still be a regular. 2020 - Review # 14

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! So fresh. Cute little place downtown. Quick service! Definitely recommend.

Rosalyn G.

Yelp
Be careful. If you give cash she won't give you the right change back. Count your damn money and make sure your getting your change back.

Faviola L.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! The staff here are so nice and the food is delicious. The panang curry is flavorful, pad Thai is delicious and their sampler plate is the perfect start to the meal. Beer to drink and delicious coconut and guava waters too.

Elle J.

Yelp
I dunno... I have had delivery from Thai Chili Jam restaurant before and during COVID. I do have to say that during the lockdown they get that food out quick! It arrived wayyyyyy ahead of schedule so that was nice. I really should have written a review the first time. Then I wouldn't have ordered from here again. I hate to be so harsh, but there it is. It's like making a pretty big mistake and and not fully acknowledging it. It's then so much easier to make the same mistake again. I do these things to myself. Just like I order huge feasts for myself! So when the food arrived ... and I opened it. I realized my error. The egg rolls were just the worst. There is no crisp. It's a thin egg roll yet thick doughy ordeal. If you decide to order go ahead and try them. Send me a note either way because I cannot imagine a world where people line it. Change my mind. The Tom Yum soup was very generous in size. I'd say it's quite the deal. Little overly dressed in fish sauce for me. But they brought the expected amount of heat. The eggplant dish had only four scant pieces of eggplant. The rest were veggies. Soooooooooo disappointing. Just.... honestly didn't order a veggie sauté ... I wanted that eggplant. I guess reading other reviews it's hit or miss, it missed me twice. Maybe you will get a better experience from your order. But, I will be trying other places for now.

Angelica L.

Yelp
Love this place. I just moved to this area and needed to find a good Thai place because I missed the great Thai place by my house. I love this place so much I will come more often and for sure become a regular. We got the duck plate, Panang curry, pad Thai, egg rolls. Everything was delicious. The lady working there was super kind to. I appreciated her recommendations were awesome and she was helpful.

Casey B.

Yelp
I ordered the Spicy Lemongrass Chicken Salad through UberEats and walked over to get my food. By the time I got there from work (7-9 minutes) the food was ready! I asked on the notes for hot sauce and they packed three choices for me. The salad was SUPER tasty. The lemongrass chicken was perfectly seasoned, the veggies were fresh and everything was packed neatly. Two suggestions/recommendations. Get the dressing on the side, there was A LOT floating in the box and be prepared to cut the lettuce up. They do not do this, and a knife was not included. I will be back, this was a great find!

Judith T.

Yelp
I'm not sure why this place has good reviews. The food is below average and the service is horrible. We received a bill for our meal before it was served. In addition another server wanted to know if we wanted dessert before we received our dinner. The table and floors were dirty, I would be afraid to see the kitchen. It is very basic decor and looks as if it has been there since the 50s which could explain why it all looked dirty. I would avoid this restaurant, there are many other choices.

Michael P.

Yelp
I like the food here. It's a very cozy little spot for a good meal. I love the yellow curry and of course, the pad Thai is delicious.

Angeliz A.

Yelp
When I 1st walked up to the restaurant I was a bit apprehensive. The outside of the windows were very dirty with splatters all over and somebody must have just recently broken in the front door because it was still covered in wood. But i trusted the reviews and decided to give it a try anyways. When I got inside I could tell that some of the tables had not been properly wiped down as I could still see plate rings and glass rings on the tables. But over the floors were clean, the plants were well-cared-for, and the bathrooms were in good shape. Overall I'm generally really glad that I gave this place to try. We had 4 different dishes and 3 out of the 4 were fantastic. The basil rice, pad Thai, and the other noodle dish, recommened by the server, that I cannot remember what it was called were all fantastic. We did order what we thought was CRISPY chicken from the description but it turned out not to be. It was actually one of my least favorite dishes and I was very disappointed with it. H3. When I saw it described as crispy chicken I expected something to on it to be crispy, Like the chicken, As described. But it wasn't and that deeply disappointed me. This item was actually nothing like described. The cucumbers did nothing to add to the flavor of the dish and were nothing more than a garnish, the same with the 1 soggy piece of lettuce on the bottom of the place used to keep the sauce on the The suggy steamed chicken, I guess it was supposed to be sauteed, actually had very little flavor and was one of the worst dishes we tried. When I asked the waitress why it was called crispy chicken I couldn't get an answer that made sense. Something about it was cooked in crispy noodles. But I did not see any crispy noodles on the plate either. So sad. The service was very good and the staff was very friendly And the food overall was surprisingly good. I probably would have given this restaurant 4 stars if it hadn't been for the filthy windows, sticky tables, poorly described menu items and the fact That none of the food prices were listed, so the price of our meal was left as the final surprise. It wasn't the worst Thai restaurant I've ever eaten but it is definitely far from the best.

Ava F.

Yelp
I was in and out of Thailand for about six years and have many Thai friends. This place has probably the worst Thai food I have ever had or should I say even the worst food I have ever had. The servers never made eye contact and when I said that, the food was not very good, nor very hot. It was like talking to the wind. When our food was delivered, it was just slapped down in front of us and the server left before you could even open your mouth. It's not a bad looking place and it has a very convenient location. this restaurant is an embarrassment to Thailand, and especially to Portland. Save your money, but I don't think I mentioned it was over priced as well.

Kameryn R.

Yelp
This was the most delicious and flavorful Thai food I have had EVER. I have traveled all around, and this particular restaurant stands out to me with its use of fresh vegetables, many flavors, and excellent service from the sweetest staff. I ordered the Red Curry, and it was SO flavorful, the right amount of spice (I requested mild,) plenty of vegetables and protein. Rice was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend any of the curries!!!! Ambience is cozy and simple, really homey feel to it. Quiet and safe feeling. The outside may seem a little off putting, but it's anything but on the inside! I came in at 3pm on a Sunday when it was not busy at all, and I was greeted so warmly and was waited in immediately. Whenever my family or friends come to visit me, this is where I'll take them. Thank you!

Bryon M.

Yelp
Hard to find some thai restaurants in downtown Portland. Or at least many didnt appear in a search. This one was somewhat close to the hotel where I was staying, so me and my co-worker decided to check it out. We got seated right away, and there were only a handful of people in here. I always get massaman curry at every thai restaurant I go to. So I didnt even need to look at the menu. I also ordered some pot stickers. My co-worker didnt know much about curries, so he asked for a few samples. He liked them all, but decided to order something else. He ordered the P9: PAD KRA TUIM (SPICY GARLIC) Choice of protein with spicy garlic sauce, steamed broccoli, cabbage, and carrots, baby corn, mushrooms. He liked it, but he said it could use more spice. He even asked the owner to make it spicy and I guess it wasnt spicy enough. But he was happy. The massaman was yummy. No complaints here. I would go back, for sure.

Sada A.

Yelp
Truly the best place in town. The staff is so sweet and caring. The pad see ew is the best I've ever had

Mad Z.

Yelp
I recently started getting delivery and LOVE this place. Favorite dish is their Squid in Chili Jam - delicious and addictive. Keto recommendation: Chicken Satay, Shrimp Satay, Seafood Salad

Karim A.

Yelp
Walked by this place a couple times on the way to Washington Park, decided to stop by today. Best decision I could have made warm ambiance, awesome service, great vibes and delicious food. Ordered the pineapple fried rice with tofu For dessert, took the advice of the manager - Sweet Black Sticky Rice .

Macy E.

Yelp
My favorite thai place by far!! im a repeat customer and every time they have been so nice and the food is always amazing. food is very fairly priced, you can get 2 meals out of pretty much every dish (it's even better the next day!!). always plenty of sauce no matter what i order, which is something a lot of other restaurants don't get right. thank you thai chili jam!! in my top 5 restaurants ever

Stacey S.

Yelp
Yes. Dear dog. Yes. This place knows what heat is. I met my match FINALLY. If you're the type who kinda rolls their eyes when a place mentions something is spicy, and it's really more comforting than anything, go here! I had a medium spiced chicken tom yum noodle soup and my nose began to run (that's when you KNOW it's good!). If I had gone a step higher, I probably would have regret it. I bow down to this place.

Dulce P.

Yelp
This place was convenient when we went to the Mexican consulate. It's just in front and we had to wait more than an hour to get in. They sat us down quickly and took our order. My husband got a chicken pad Thai. It looked good, nice portion. When I tried it it was more on the sweeter side. I got the drunken noodles, medium heat. It was just perfect for me. I really liked my food, but when I look at my husbands plate, he is putting all the chicken to the side. He said it was very dry, like it was old. He said, maybe I'm just used to the flavor of that other Thai place. So I don't think we'll be back here, it's not bad but not the best. When you order Thai iced tea, they give you a plastic straw with the wrapper made into a rose, really cute.

Dillon A.

Yelp
Been meaning to check it out for a while, and it didn't disappoint! Really great staff and quiet environment. Excellent stir fry- Pad Cashew Nut with the chili jam was what I ordered; really tasty. If you're around the area, might be worth checking out if you like Thai.

Alexia G.

Yelp
Such a delicious and relaxing environment. I loved everything about the food here. It was my first Thai restaurant with a very large group of people. Sometimes, staff may seem flustered or the food doesn't seem as great with larger groups. I am proud to announce that this is NOT the case here. The curry here was exquisite, pad Thai noodles, and eggplant were spectacular. I loved that they provided a lot of potatoes in the shrimp curry. Shrimp was fresh. The waitress was very friendly and I have to admit, very fashionable. I wish I lived closer to this restaurant!

Aiden M.

Yelp
Delicious and one of my favorite places to eat near my house. the Mee Ka Ti noodles are great!

Austin S.

Yelp
Very good thai food. I love the pra ram - great peanut sauce. The food is quick, affordable, authentic, and tasty. Love it :)

Jade H.

Yelp
I have been raving about Thai chili Jam for seven years. They make a hot and sour noodle soup that no other Thai restaurant can even come close to; the flavors are perfection, normally. I don't know what's changed but the proof is right here in these pictures. I've noticed the flavor has been declining over the last three years, my dishes have been really inconsistent. My family has all but given up on them. I however am a diehard, that one good one might just carry through then next 3 meh. You guys need to get it together. I don't know how much more I can take tonight's take out was a mean joke.

Tyeesha B.

Yelp
When I visit Portland, this place is a must! Service and food were great. I always get the Pad see ew with chicken.

Ph G.

Yelp
We went there around seven pm, and they were not too crowded. We were able to get seat as soon as possible. We got one curry rice and one pineapple fried rice. They were both yummy and the amount of food was good enough for us. The stomach had No space for dessert at the end.

KB S.

Yelp
Stopped after my sister and her family gave a positive thumbs up. Had the Hot & Sour Noodle Soup and the Potstickers. Both were excellent (to get 5 stars the place has to be a little more friendly) and I will go back and try something else.

Nahush G.

Yelp
It's a pretty decent Thai restaurant. Wish they used more sweet Thai basil and those sweet and spicy Thai green chillies in the food. Would make the food taste so much better! Instead, they use red chili flakes to spice up the food which is a bummer.

Amie B.

Yelp
Amazing, their spicy basil fried rice and pineapple fried rice was so delicious for our Sunday lunch when we were so tired of cooking :) they even improved the pfr by adding raisins now like most places do (i don't like raisins, except in this dish, they make it absolutely perfect!) I really appreciate all these places for still killing it, even with all the tough covid new rules, and i know these guys will still do well bc their food is yummy!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Can't find better basil fried rice!! We love how quick the takeout is. Also a big fan of all the curry and the basil chicken.
