Thai Cottage Corpus Christi

My husband happened to notice a new Thai place nearby. I'm glad we decided to try them! It turns out that it is a chain restaurant, but clearly good reason that there are so many. We arrived right as they were opening up for dinner. We were a few minutes early, but we're welcomed with open arms. We only encountered two people working there, but both were extremely nice and helpful. We tried the shrimp spring rolls (which go by another name), which were what you'd expect. Nothing too special, but the peanut sauce was great! Our entrees were absolutely amazing though. I got the roasted duck curry, which had a perfect balance of sweet and spicy (we both chose 4 for the spice level)... I would 100% get that again. My husband chose the Pad Thai, which was very flavorful. I had to steal a second bite of it. The last several times I've had it elsewhere, it was pretty bland, so I was impressed. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. We will definitely be back.

This place is absolutely amazing! I come every Thursday lunch, and the workers are always so kind, especially our server Ky! We got the curry noodle and tamarind fish this time around and it was perfectly made. The taste was perfect, not too much not too little. I’ll definitely keep coming back :)

We had lunch special and it was perfectly portioned and was yummy!! The salad with the peanut sauce is perfection. I had the Chili Basil with rice. It was yummy and flavorful but maybe I should’ve just gotten the fried rice version off of the menu. [EDIT: I just tried the other lunch special dish, the Chili Paste with beef. I love it!! Highly recommend it with a spice of 4/5. Spice level 4 is flavorful not spicy, but if you want spicy order level 5. Beef was nice!] Pad thai is also good as always! Also regarding the spice level (out of 5); order a 4+ for the heat because the spice level of 2 wasn’t spicy at all and 4 is just right with minimal spice. Yellow curry is yummy too!! I recommend all, but the best I’ve eaten (out of the two times I’ve been) is the Chili Paste dish.

Very consistent high quality food that is very tasty with huge portions! Some of the best most kind service in Corpus!

I practically grew up on this Thai food in Corpus Christi! Me and my family have been coming here for the past seven years. The staff is always so respectful and welcoming. I love the calm ambiance and the place is always so clean. This place even offers outdoor tables for those who like a quieter place if it gets crowded. They always offer exceptional service and the food is delicious! 10/10

Friendly service. I ordered the Thai iced tea which was delicious. For lunch, I ordered the vegetarian pad thai, and my husband ordered the garlic & pepper with chicken. It came with your choice of soup or salad. We both choose salad. I choose the vinaigrette dressing and my husband had the peanut dressing. Both dressings were good. Tasted close to what we had when we were in Thailand.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for so many years with my family and friends since they open and now I’m bringing my granddaughter and I always think is the best Thai food and The peanut sauce and Thai tea is simply amazing customer service is excellent The manager and the wait staff, They’re awesome

This place is the best. The food is ready quick, and always amazing. We eat in sometimes but grab to go very frequently. The staff is super friendly, and the hostess checks each order to ensure nothing is missing before handing it to you. I've never had a mistake in my order and never been disappointed with the food. Don't sleep on it, this is what you want for dinner!

This will be a lunch time based review. The luncheon portions are rather small for the price but had good flavor. The lunch specials are served with soup or salad also, but still not enough to fill you up. The decor is a little outdated, but it's a quaint little spot. Service was great luckily, but whether you like it or not there automatically add an 18% tip to your bill. Coke products are served here and my wife can highly recommend the sweet iced green tea. That was the highlight of our meal. It's a nice spot, but if you want more bang for you lunch buck this isn't the place.

Good service and ambience but disappointed with the food. Pad thai was too sweet and not a lot of flavor. The veggie dish also too sweet. We were hoping for more spicy than sweet.

Food is a hit or miss. Noodles and dumplings were tasty but the green curry had the harsh bamboo smell. The green tea is the bomb though. Service and ambiance are good.

I am pregnant and have been craving Thai food for the last week. I ended up finding this restaurant on Yelp due to the reviews and it was probably the worst Thai food that I've had. I'm giving this place a 3 star due to how friendly the waiter was. First, I chose a 4/5 for the spiciness level of my pad Thai. When it arrived, there was no spice whatsoever or really any flavor besides a peanut sauce. I never knew that pad Thai could be gross, but I forced myself to eat as much as I could. I also ordered the shrimp salad rolls, which were mediocre. It wasn't anything special... and the last thing that I ordered was the Tom yum soup. It was my first time trying it, and definitely my last if I come back here. I'm a foodie and have tried so many different Thai places in many states, and this place was very underwhelming. I normally will order mango with sticky rice, after I finish my meal at Thai restaurants. But since I didn't enjoy anything I ordered, I decided to give it a pass. This was a waste of $33, and my first/last time coming here.

I was hesitant at first with location, but previous reviews sold me on the place. Parking is easy. The staff were very kind and sat us immediately upon entering. I split the yellow curry with my husband and spring rolls. Everything was delicious. It was clean, everyone was very attentive, and we enjoyed the food! Will 100% return. Highly recommend.

Amazing food. A wonderful atmosphere to have a special meal with an out-of-town friend. A very easy part of town to navigate. Plentiful parking. Lots of other great shops close by.

They charged us for extra meals that we did not order and the fried fish fillets were hard and chewy! So were the wings! So disappointed! We used to go there often

Just moved to corpus and was craving thai- this was the BEST thai I have had in so long!! Huge portion, food came out quickly, and all the staff was very friendly. We came right when it opened and it was getting crowded. I was starving when I showed up and left VERY full. Delicious though. I'll be back!!

The food is sooo good and service is great! They are so friendly and very quick. It is in a cute little cottage and perfectly named. We have eaten here severL times and will definitely be back!

This is my favorite restaurant in corpus! It's like a little house with a very ornate mural on the wall. Roasted duck curry is magic, so good. Service is never bad and we usually get our food relatively quick. Would also recommend garlic fish, tiger cry, pad woon sen, really hard to go wrong.

Great food with clearly marked vegetarian options and gluten free. The staff was very nice and the food came out very quick. I really enjoyed the vegetable curry.

Probably the most consistent Thai that I've had in Corpus and the ambiance of the place is nicely built into the converted older building with lots of charm. We even had my birthday dinner here because of how much I like Thai food. One of the things I love about this place is that they are sensitive to those with food allergies and can even replace Mung bean noodle in place of rice for a small charge. This gives a gluten or grain free person lots of options to enjoy their favorite Thai dish without the guilt or the downtime of getting gluten. One of our favorite Thai restaurants in Corpus.

I've eaten a lot of thai food and this was absolutely the worst I've had. I ordered a dish with peanut sauce and the "sauce" was watery peanut butter. Extremely disgusting. I also ordered the veggie dumplings that tasted raw and soggy. I added extra brocolli to my order, and they only gave me 4 pieces... Small portions, gross and definitely does not taste authentic. Will never be back

I ordered combo fried rice to go. It normally came with beef, pork, shrimp and chicken. I asked for no shrimp but add extra pork. I received fried rice with extra pork and chicken but no beef. Also, I had no sauces such as soy sauce, etc. The fried rice was dry. Not great.

The workers there were really nice, friendly and patient. They were kind to us and our children. Their sweet green tea is amazing! Large portions of food and a kids menu. Wish we lived closer. 100% recommend!

Terrible food! This may be one of the worst Thai foods I have ever had! There was no flavor and the seafood items in the dishes were terrible. How is seafood based items in Corpus Christi so bad? It just doesn't make sense.

I'm glad I found this place. Net gave the best service. Pad Thai was amazing. Same with the drunken noodles definitely will be coming back.

First time here. Small place but great food. HIDDEN GEM! Grabbed a lunch special. Was recommended by waiter to try the Chili Basail entre, egg drop soup and spring roll appetizers. AMAZING FLAVOR!!! My waiter DAGAN was very helpful in explaining the menu and narrowed my choices down. I will definitely bring my family here for the dinner menu.

The food and service are wonderful. The staff is delightful. Couldn't be happier. Ambiance is great for a family dinner. 5 stars.

Beautiful restaurant with a very friendly staff. This restaurant is by far the most covid 19 compliant restaurant we've visited so far. Everyone else is serving on regular plates and cups but Thai Cottage actually invested in everything disposable. I had the spicy basil fried rice that was delicious but could have been just a tad bit spicier. My wife had the Panang Curry that was one of the best we have had. They actually added a good portion of chicken and all together very flavorful. The cheese roles were a little different and had raisins in them that I didn't like but overall a very good dining experience.

Good food and service! The waiter was nice and made accommodations and substitutions for our entrees as needed. No charge. Con: Crowded seating and the atmosphere is very loud. The entrance is also small so getting in & out as others are too can be a little difficult.

Food was good. Service was fast. I am veg and found tons on the menu. Portion size was good. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star were the veggie spring rolls were a bit lacking in flavor and the peanut sauce was ok. The entrees were all good.

I've been coming to this cute little thai place since probably high school. It's always so good and the employees are friendly and on point each time. It used to be so much smaller and they were smart in extending it. It definitely made a noise for lunch hour. You'll see friends catching up or co workers catching a bite. That's what we did working at the mall across the street and how how I visit especially with this location. Great lunch specials. I personally always get the Phat thai with chicken (generous portion) comes with soup or salad and a mini egg roll. A craving fix each time I return to my hometown. Total under $10

They can be very good but the food is no consistent. We moved to Corpus Christi just over a year ago, and at first thought we had found our go to Thai restaurant. We ate there today and two of the things we order regularly were disappointing, the fried spring rolls were over cooked, and the Tom Kha soup had a reddish tint to it almost like they added oil. I ordered the Tom Kha soup with no spice, so we could add our own dried chilies (this is the only Thai restaurant we have ever visited provide crushed dry chilies), and there was a concentrated lime flavor near the bottom of the bowl. The service was spottier than on our last visit. I realize that restaurants are not always at their best on a Monday, but at the prices charged here we expected better.

I've eaten at this Thai location about 6-8 times over the last 5 years. Stopped in today on a whim and asked for Beef Pad Thai, level 5 heat. Food was served up nice and fire hot with 6 pieces of thinly sliced beef. The heat factor was maybe a 1 with hardly any beef to speak of. Time and time again, they just underperform.

This place was good. Do not remember what I ordered but I do remember I liked it.. the staff is friendly and nice.

Always friendly staff here. I usually get the chicken Teriyaki and it's amazing. The vinegar dressing on the salad is great, the food is always fresh and hot with great lunch specials. The ladies that wait on us are super friendly. Great spot for fresh and healthy food.

I've been to their places in Houston and Katy and this location is nothing compared to the others . This is mediocre at best . The service is slow but I'm willing to forgive that for great food . The SA-Te was undercooked - the chicken almost raw but not quite. The vegetable spring rolls had mushy vegetables in the filling - quite unpleasant and the pad ke maw was pieces of broken noodles with a huge amount of scrambled eggs . The chicken and vegetables were lost in the mess . The noodles were broken pieces instead of sheets of long rice noodles

Recommend, we have been eating in this place for years and years, the food is excellent, and the costs of food are good. This place is clean, cozy, and simple, just to enjoy the food and the kindness of the staff.

Came here for lunch, it gets pretty busy here. There was a wait, they have a few spots to sit and wait, but once it gets crowded the spots are hard to come by. They offer a lunch menu that comes with a soup and vegetable eggroll. The selection on the lunch menu is a little limited. There are other options in the full menu as well. We all got the lunch portion items. The soup was chicken noodle soup that day and it was good, the vegetable eggroll is far better than the chicken eggroll we ordered. The chicken eggroll was awful, I would not recommend that one. The pad thai I got had chicken and it was okay, I wasn't impressed with it, but it was good for what Corpus had to offer. My boyfriend got the garlic and ginger chicken, I liked his more than mine. The locals love it here, and I see why people like it. The service is nice and the food is a good amount. It wasn't the best Thai I've ever had, but it wasn't the worse either.

This is my favorite restaurant in Corpus!!! By Far. Love their curry dishes, but I have tasted half the menu an never been anything less than exited.

In for lunch. Arrived right at noon. Last time I stoped in to eat here it had a long wait so I went elsewhere. Seated immediately, order and drink brought quickly. Metal utensils, paper napkins, real plates. Sat in a window seat just inside the door to keep an eye on my bike. Dining room was small but nice. Ordered yellow curry with beef as my meat choice. Came with tomato chicken soup and a spring roll. The soup was light and flavorful. Spring roll was crispy and not overly oily as I have had at other places. Curry Beef was very good! Sweet and spicy but a bit small in portion size.(see photo). It did fill me up, may be the rice?? I ordered a spicy level of one and it was perfect for me. I like to taste everything and not just the spice. Comes as a yellow curry soup with a coconut milk base. Had beef, onions, potatoes, and carrots. Total with iced tea was: $ 11.58. Not a bad total for lunch I would recommend and would come back.

The food was incredible yesterday evening! Soft shrimp spring rolls. Tom yum soup w shrimp spicy 5 & Shrimp on the grill w brown rice and a nice cold beer ! Thai tea for desert.

Amazing portions! I had 3 meals out of one dish! Food is very flavorful and you can pick the heat level which is always fun.

Just moved to Corpus from Houston and was happy to see a location here too and this was the first restaurant I visited here. That is until I picked up spicy basil fried rice (#7 spiciness) and got home to a totally bland and tasteless meal. It reminded me of eating while I was down with Covid19 and I lost my sense of smell and taste.

Peanut Rama never disappoints! We had great service and great food! Highly Recommend!

I ordered the Green Dish. It was just warm but the vegetables were over cooked...interesting. I am willing to try another dish in the future here because I've heard good things. But overall, I was pretty disappointed.

Went out to dinner on a Saturday night as the restaurant was opening for its dinner time patrons. The servers and hostess are very nice and quite attentive. This is a small restaurant minimally decorated and very welcoming. I ordered the crab fried rice and the fish cakes (something way out of my league, but I'm a foodie so I said here's to adventurous palates!). My companion had a curry dish that came with rice. I had to taste it and it was delicious! The fish cakes? Small and deep fried were packed with flavor. All the dishes presented to us were good and the portions were big. Needless to say we had leftovers for our lunch the next day.

*Atmosphere: Casual atmosphere great for quick dinner with friends. The space was a bit cramped for our group of 4. *Service: Very slow service! We went on a Sat evening and they seemed to be overwhelmed with the volume. Had a 20min wait to be seated, but took over 30mins. We waited outside since there wasnt enough space inside but the hostess failed to come out and inform us our table was ready. The food also took an extremely long time to get to our table. *Food: decent serving at decent price. Ordered the Panang curry with chicken and the Garlic Pepper Lover with beef. The curry was luke warm when served and the beef in the garlic pepper lover was dry but the dish was douched in sauce

Came to try out this Thai place and everything seems ok until the waitress come over. First if you check in on the app you get a free Tom yum soup but it does NOT say on the app that it is ONLY ONE PER table. So we had to only get one. Second we order two Panang curry and they only bring ONE. I am like where is the second plate we are not going to eat from the same plate. I hate it when waiter was or waiters are idiots and don't listen to what the customer wants. Another this is if you get the Panang curry tell them to leave out the green peas!

We have been here for several times. Right now they have the promotion to buy a $100 gift card to get $40 voucher. I think it's a very good. This time ordered golden shrimp and beef sate for appetizer; yum nuah salad and yum woon sen for entrees. Last but not least, we finished with fried ice cream, fried banana and coconut ice cream. One word that can describe their food is perfect. Their servers were great and attentive. I can't wait to come back to try all their food and use the voucher.

Decided to try this place out again after about a year. This place has improved on quality of food and service. Food was a solid 9/10 and the service was 7/10. Let's start with taking about service: we were greeted into this cute restaurant. Within 10 minutes, our food and drinks orders were taken. During the ordering process, they didn't ask us which level of spiciness we wanted. We have cake to this restaurant before and they asked us the level of spiciness for each entree especially pad Thai. They brought out appetizers within minutes of ordering. This was before our drinks or our utensils came which was really unprofessional on their part. Another incident I thought was unprofessional was we had to ask them to refill our waters (which occurred after the meals and drinks came) The service caused me to take the two stars off my review. The Food (which I gave a 9/10) was really good. My party of 5 ordered the red curry, the pad Thai, and the Three taste Fish fillet. I only had a chance to try the Pad Thai and the Three taste fish. The Pad Thai was really good with and without the hot sauce. I put in the hot sauce because I like my food a little bit hotter but needless to say, the Pad Thai was fantastic without it. The Three Taste fish is easily my favorite dish my party got. It had the right amount of spices, and the Steamed rice made it Perfect. If you can get past the service, this place is a must visit in Corpus Cristi
