Google
WHAT A VIBE. I had no idea this place existed. If you like mom and pop vibes, this is a perfect little gem with an elegant feel. Perfect for a date night. I got the cottage specialty mango tofu and substituted chicken. Even got pad Thai to go (can’t get Thai without pad Thai). Service was phenomenal on every level. Not overly aggressive and always there when we needed something. Thank you so much!

Google
I order from here here alot. Sometimes I use one of the apps, sometimes I come and get it and at least 2-3 a month my coworkers and I order and one of them picks it up so its not always under my name. I have loved everything. My issue is we NEVER get the plum sauce even when we ask in the notes. I dont know who eats fried rice without any sauce but the plum sauce is what we love about the dish. I ordered it tonight and again no sauce. If we pick it up we get it but never when we order online. I'd love them to read the comments and/or just include the sauce. I'd rather have one sauce and not get the extra than have no sauce. Every dish is usualy delicious and this is the first time my entire fried rice dish is burnt. Its not edible. I already gave a good rating on the food app before I realize it was burnt because I had only ate the soup and dumplings. Food, tip and delivery fee = about $50 in wasted food. I am very disappointed!

Google
Delicious!!! I love coming here or getting delivery for lunch. Super cute shaded outdoor area for eating if that's your vibe. I hav had their combo appetizers and pad Thai (level 6 spice level was spicy but good) but want to try the curry! Thai tea is wonderful!

Lucas B.

Google
ordered for the first time today, and my pumpkin curry was amazing! the prices are worth the portions, you can get at least 2 meals out of one meal order when you do take out. the inside was super cute and had a very chill atmosphere. awesome place.

Google
Delicious food and great service. It was fun how busy it was for a small place and our food came out very fast! Loved the pad Thai, teriyaki chicken, and pork dumplings. Can’t wait to go back!

Brittany F.

Google
Thai Cottage is my go to anytime I’m craving Thai! Their dumplings are my absolute favorite and I order them every single time I visit. I’ve also been loving the Garlic Sauce rice dish, the See Ew and the Kee Mow! Everything is always so consistent, tasty and the portions are always enough for me to save some for the next day. I highly recommend!

Google
A hidden gem next to Frick Park. This place felt so local and authentically Thai I am surprised I have not found this place sooner. 10/10 must visit. This place is clean, not crowded, and the food served delicious. The portion was large and cost only $20-25 per person. I would actually say this place is top 3 thai places in Pittsburgh especially because of the hidden gem vibe. No wait and very quiet. Tom Yum noodle bowl was good. So were the noodle plate Kee Mow.

Google
A Tiny Gem with Massive Flavor! This place is a true find. It might be small inside, but the food is absolutely incredible and more than makes up for it. My go-to is the takeout, and we get it all the time because the quality is consistently outstanding. I highly recommend the Pad Thai—it’s perfect every time, with just the right balance of sweet and savory flavors. The "Cottage Combo #2" is another favorite; it’s a fantastic way to try a little bit of everything. And if you’re a fan of curry, the Red Curry is a must-try. It has a rich, deep flavor and a perfect level of spice. You also can't miss their Bubble Milk. It's so good and a perfect, refreshing drink to go with the meal. This is our top spot for Thai food in the area. The flavors are authentic, the quality is high, and it's a spot you'll want to keep coming back to!

Yelp
Easily the best pad see ew in town. I'm usually not someone who orders this dish, but it's undeniable that this is the star dish at this restaurant. Noodles are perfectly balanced, even ingredients that tend to go unnoticed stand out in this dish. I love their appetizers, especially their shumai dumplings and the crab rangoons. They also have a wonderful mango sticky rice. I love going here in person or taking out. This is the spot that I take friends and family to when they're in town. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is AMAZING, and there's no cork fee.

Yelp
Ordered via third party delivery platform. This is Very Good Thai. We will order again. NB: I like spicy/hot things. "Medium" is *not* messing around, and is *not* "medium." My dish was lovely and would have been better had there been less heat. "No spicy" requested in one dish had non-trivial heat, which was fine with who ordered it. They commented that it was far from "no spicy" though. Caveat emptor. - Woon sen salad: Excellent. Great glass noodles/minced chicken/shrimps. I think the "lime" is makrut. Even if I am wrong, it is fantastic. I'll get this again, but holy smokes the heat. - Pumpkin Curry: Very good. Warm and flavorful. Would get again. - Crispy Spring Rolls: Some commented, "Crisp, perfect!" Others, "Tastes like the fryer." - Crab Rangoon: Excellent rendition. Happy little crispy envelopes of just what you're looking for.

Yelp
I'm grateful to have this fantastic Thai place so close to home. My favorite dishes are the fresh spring rolls, mango salad, and Thai basil eggplant with tofu. I usually get takeout, but their indoor game is solid, too. The decor is cozy, the staff are attentive and accommodating, and the food is fast and fresh.

Yelp
I had the duck noodle, which was ok (3/5). There was not a strong flavor to the dish or that much duck in it. Service was good (4/5), and the interior is also nice. Maybe we missed the fine print on the menu, but we were unaware they already add and charge an 18% gratuity on your bill and ask you if you want to tip again on the final unitemized receipt, which does not show the automatically added gratuity. It was a group of four of us, and we all paid separately, so we were a little surprised. I noticed, but everyone else had already double tipped. It is not a big deal but something to be aware of.

Fionah L.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff is friendly, always greeting with a smile. We love the cottage sampler and pineapple curry.

Yelp
Be more careful with food prep. A hair was found in our food today. Hairnets are important!

Yelp
What a cute little place. The parking isn't ideal but the food and service was amazing. Everyone liked their dishes. I had the yellow curry and it was one of my favorites. Will definitely be returning!
google avatar

Julie Anna E.

Yelp
Consistently amazing food. Have been going here for 3 years and have never had even a mediocre meal here. Consistently great food. My favorite is the Fried Mango Tilapia. It's heaven. I also love their appetizer sampler and their dumplings
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
Great restaurant and good service. Love the pumpkin curry and would highly recommend going for lunch on a Weekday and taking advantage of their lunch special! Nice airy atmosphere with plants and beautiful overhead light fixtures

Yelp
I had a really good experience here and would recommend to others. The service when I visited was particularly noteworthy. Despite being incredibly busy with just one waitress, she was incredible! She was remarkably efficient and seemed to have attended all tables with no problems. My table had no issues with our orders and was able to frequently check-in with us, along with putting a matchbook under our table when we didn't even mention it to her. As for the food, it was exceptional. I tried the duck noodles, a rare find from my experience with Thai restaurants, and it did not disappoint. The portion size was generous enough for me to take almost half of it home. I chose a spice level of 7, and it really had quite a kick. It left me visibly sweating which was actually quite funny for everyone at my table. I think the food and service really delivered here. I would return here should I be given the chance.

Yelp
Ordered for take out and enjoyed it so much! Seamless ordering process for take out and friendly staff. The portions were big and the quality was on point. I thoroughly enjoyed the crab Rangoons (flawless and super flavorful), pad see ew with chicken, and the Thai spicy fried rice with chicken. The vegetable Panang curry was flavorful, but a bit watery. I wish it would've been just a bit thicker and more hearty, there is nothing worse than a watery curry! I got all the entrees at a spice level 2 and it was the perfect amount of heat. The restaurant is adorable with the decor and some outside seating. Overall, the food is great and this is a good option for some Thai food on the east side of the city!

Yelp
Eccellent Thai food and service. Spices on noodle dishes was just right. Outdoors space is great on warm summer evenings
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
Great Thai spot!!! Pad Thai was bomb (although the "mid" level spicy really had no spice at all- I would add more next time) and pickup and ordering was seamless. I love how they have little condiments for you to grab when you pickup as well.

Joe G.

Yelp
We did take out from this spot and I have to say I was super impressed by the food. The Prik Khing we ordered was so flavorful and we also loved their Kee Mow noodles

Katalina S.

Yelp
My friends invited me for dinner to celebrate my Birthday. It was my first time at Thai Cottage. Food was delicious and ambiance was nice and cozy. Sadly, the evening ended abruptly when the server kicked us out because she needed our table asap. We were enjoying our wine and little celebration watching the heavy rain fall outside. She insisted we leave! She could have given the 3 people waiting a complimentary appetizer while they waited or give them the open 4 top table that was open. You never kick customers out especially into the heavy rain. Very rude server! 5-2-2025

Yelp
The food is always outstanding. Period. Friendly, prompt service in a simple relaxed dining room. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often. Prices are fine especially for lunch. Many thanks to all.

Megan E.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Perfect spice levels. They actually gave a ton of protein which was wonderful. Will definitely visit again!

Lee M.

Yelp
When I tell you I am absolutely in LOVE with their Pad Thai! I have had it so many times & it never fails me, I lived out of state for 2yrs. When I came back I KNEW I had to get some Pad Thai! It's so good, the flavor is always there. It will always be my 1 go to.

Yelp
Good food. We usually go to Thai Terrace, which is our fave, but we tried the Cottage and it was pretty close for take-out. Would return!
google avatar

Yelp
Recently tried this place for the first time with a to-go order. I really enjoyed the see ew noodles and the pork dumplings. The dumplings came with a sweet dipping sauce on the side that was excellent. I used the online ordering system from their website and the food was fresh and ready when I arrived 20 minutes later. The staff inside were friendly and brought my order up right away when I walked in. The dining room was lively and had a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be ordering more food from this place in the future.
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
I come to Thai Cottage frequently and love it as a neighborhood option. The kee mao is my go-to, but the pad thai does the trick as well. Decent portion size and tasty food as always. Many different protein options and options for veg too.

Yelp
Went back here recently with my wife and our 1.5-year-old daughter for an early dinner and had a great experience. They had a high chair, the servers were very friendly with our daughter, and the food came out quickly (it was 5:45ish and the place was pretty empty). The restaurant was also nice and quiet at this hour. All of this made it very convenient and kid-friendly! The food was solid as has been our experience before with takeout. We tried the sunrise tofu, which we hadn't had before, and enjoyed it. Tofu was crispy and there was a bunch of broccoli on the side. The sauce was a bit heavy, which made the tofu and some veggies underneath a bit soggy. But our little one sure wasn't complaining - she loved the sweet peanut sauce! We also got the green curry and pad Thai which were both quite good.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
This is in our neighborhood and we love it! It's small and intimate, and is always crowded ! The food and portions are delicious. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Marla C.

Yelp
The food is so good! Their pad Thai is my favorite. The fried rice is also so good! The inside is cute!
google avatar

Maggie Z.

Yelp
Excellent variety of tofu dishes and curries of all varieties! I'm a sucker for yellow curry and it's rare to find it on a menu around this area. I was so happy to see it here! Thai Cottage does an incredible job of adjusting spice, making it accessible to large groups with a range of tastebuds and dietary restrictions. Vegetarians will be happy to visit and, though I got takeout, the inside is intimate and well-decorated. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Lori D.

Yelp
Salad was absolutely amazing. I will get it again on my next visit. The main dish was good but not great. There was only 1 server so service was good but not great. My husband ordered hot water with lemon but never received it. The restaurant was full so, evidently, people were enjoying it.

Orlando M.

Yelp
Normally great. Food is good but!! Don't ever put in a Grubhub order and want something off. Put in order and called maybe 30 seconds later to tell them and they said it was already made couldn't take that off. ‍ idk how an order is done in under one minute but okay there's $50 gone lol

Katherine K.

Yelp
I ordered take out and the food arrived promptly and was fresh. However the taste was mediocre at best. Extremely greasy and lacking flavor.
google avatar

Lydia B.

Yelp
My husband took me here and it was great! We both had the See Ew. It was spicier and the portions were a little larger than the other Thai places we've been to. I ordered a 4/10 and my husband ordered an 8/10. The service was also very good. This will definitely be a place we'll think of when we are craving Thai!
google avatar

Mike O.

Yelp
Convenient location, delicious food, and great service. Great selection of spicy levels.
google avatar

Rozie F.

Yelp
The food was absolutely amazing! I had the Thai-Style Chicken Fried Rice, which was super authentic and tasted just like the fried rice I ate in Thailand. I also had the Iced Coffee and shared the Cottage Combo 2 appetizer with my family, all of which was delicious. I got 0 spicy, and my mom had 6 spicy in her Curry Fried Rice. She thought it was very good, but said she'd probably get a 4 next time. The waitress was also fantastic, caring, and fast. She was very considerate and seemed to be a very hard worker. She was awesome! The atmosphere inside the restaurant was also great. Would be really cute for a first date, dinner with friends, etc. Would love to see the vibe around lunch time- will definitely be back!

Yelp
I had such a great experience at Thai Cottage. I stopped by for some takeout, and I got pad see ew and crab rangoons. Everything was so delicious and fresh. I drove about 30 minutes home, and the food held up really nicely. The rangoons were still crunchy and my noodles were hot. I always test a Thai restaurant by how their pad see ew tastes, and this one delivered tons of flavor. I ordered a 4/5 spice level, and they gave the accurate heat! I will definitely come back here whenever I am in the area.

Yelp
Arguably the best Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh. I've tried several dishes from this restaurant and pretty much all of them have been absolutely delicious! Salads: Crispy duck salad and woon sen salad are quite good. The flavors are well balanced and the ingredients are fresh. Usually I skip salads at restaurants and just go for the entree but Thai Cottage is one of the places where I'd make an exception. Curries: Their yellow curry, red curry and green curry are all delicious. The only curry I wouldn't order again is the wild curry. Noodles: See Eww with shrimp is probably one of my favorite dishes to get from this restaurant. Their other noodle dishes are good too. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the noodle dishes. Dessert: The sticky rice and mango dessert is pretty good. The rice has this hint of saltiness but when paired with the sweet mango and the coconut milk glaze, it's just right in terms of the overall sweetness. Drink: Their Thai iced tea is refreshing and such a treat on a warm, summer day! Or even it's cold outside... Overall: My go-to Thai place in Pittsburgh is Thai Cottage. I've lost count of how many times, I've ordered and dined in at this place.

Yelp
Never misses. Great restaurant. Well priced, great food, wonderful atmosphere. Such a cozy restaurant.
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
Ordered some noodles for takeout and was really impressed! Pad see ew is our fave noodle dish and we thought this was flavorful without being too oily or salty. The chicken was excellent and the broccoli nice and fresh. Pad Thai was also good, well behaved flavor.

Karl S.

Yelp
Fantastic food for this small unassuming restaurant in Regent square. The locals are all gatekeeping this gem and keeping it all to themselves. Not a lot of seating, but their take out business is booming. The crispy duck with fried basil is a definite winner as is the pad Thai.
google avatar

Anqi H.

Yelp
This place is so cute! I love that they have outdoor seating and the indoor decor is very unique and even romantic. We came on a weeknight around 7pm, and there wasn't much of a wait. I tried the Woon Sen Pad Thai as I haven't seen this anywhere else. The noodles were really thin and soaked up all the flavors nicely. I think I still prefer the regular pad Thai though. I also tried their taro bubble tea. The flavor was great, but the tapiocas were a bit soft. I was happy with the $3.5 price though. Overall, it was a great experience. I would love to come back and try something else!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
This is a restaurant I frequent and it's always consistent with delicious food and customer service. My favorite items are the menu are their taro bubble tea, green curry, pineapple fried rice, wild curry and see ew. Everything is packed with flavor and seasoned perfectly. The dinning is on the smaller side but it's never been crowded when I choose to dine in. The price point is also very reasonable.
google avatar

Kelsey R.

Yelp
Ate here recently and had a nice dinner with my best friend. I had the see ew and he had mango curry. Food was quick. This place is tiny and cramped, it was also really hot. I would get takeout or come back for lunch in a heartbeat! I don't like being cramped and feeling like i'm in other people's way, so I would avoid for dinner- just my opinion!
google avatar

Trish T.

Yelp
I'm new to the neighborhood, and I just ordered takeout from this place. I ordered online (quite easy) and walked down to pick it up. It was ready and waiting. I got fresh spring rolls w/ shrimp and enjoyed it. The peanut sauce was tasty though a bit thick. I also got duck noodles which was surprisingly a lot like Pho. The duck was tender and flavorful as was the soup. I've had neighbors say this place isn't that good, but my dinner was pretty tasty! I'll be back.
google avatar

Paul P.

Yelp
A nice little spot in Regent Square with sidewalk seating. Stopped by with my son for lunch, first time visitors. The owner/hostess seated us outside at a shaded table and brought water quickly. My son ordered a beef soba type dish, and I simply asked the owner oblong me her recommended dish. Salad and eggs rolls were quite delicious! My son enjoyed his very large bowl of food, and the green curried chicken with rice I was served was wonderfully spicy and great to the last bite! A terrific meal can be had here...we certainly recommend you give them a try!
google avatar

Jess W.

Yelp
Love me some Thai cottage!! I used to live in Regent Square so this was my go to Thai restaurant, during the pandemic especially. My roommate and I ordered food delivered on the regular. It was always a positive experience and the food always came early!! I moved away from Regent Square this past summer so I don't order from Thai cottage as much anymore but when I'm looking for a reliable delicious meal I can't help but order from Thai cottage. The delivery continues to be early even though I live further away. My go to dishes include the Tom Kha soup, ginger tofu and pad see ew with tofu. Once I ordered a meal without peanuts because I'm allergic and they accidentally put peanuts on the dish. I called them back and they were accommodating and agreed to remake the meal for me the following day so I had thai cottage twice in a row which was awesome and my preference.
google avatar

Ulyana K.

Yelp
Very good Thai food and definitely some of the best in the area! Today's order was pretty simple: just pad Thai and Thai custard with sticky rice. The food was very reasonably priced at just $18 for the two items. I loved my pad Thai. It came in a pretty decent portion with an excellent price. It was a bit sweet, which is the way I like it. There's also a hint of lemon flavor. The protein I selected was chicken, and you don't have to pay extra for it. There's plenty of meat in here, but not too much. The meat was fine flavor wise, but not amazing. A little chewy. The noodles were great, though. It wasn't too oily or too dry like in most other Thai places. It was just the right amount of sauce and moisture, and the perfect sweet/salty balance. The sprouts added a bit of crunch, and your could taste the little pieces of egg. Highly recommend, 4.5/5. The Thai custard was also quite good. The portion was fair and the coconut milk was flavorful, with some black seeds as a topping. The custard itself was a bit on the eggy side, though. The rice was sticky enough and had good flavor. 3.8/5 All in all, I'd definitely come back here. The food is reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. For a low spiced pad Thai, this was excellent, and the sticky rice is fairly good too.

Yelp
My family and I always pass this place so on one cold winter night, we decided to stop in and give it a try. We were so pleasantly surprised! The hostess and server were so kind and welcoming, walking in felt like a warm haven with a great ambiance and felt like stepping into a slice of Thailand. They were also wearing masks and we went at a time when it was not crowded at all so it felt comfortable to dine in. Everything was also very clean. Would recommend Thai Cottage for anybody looking for an ambient and fun date night or great for dinner with a small group of friends. The menu was clear and explained the dishes well, whenever we had any questions the server expanded and even gave us recommendations. We started off with the Cottage Combo 1, my favorite was the samosa. The sauces that came with it were very flavorful and dipping the fried tofu in the sauces was so fun and tasty. I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, it was really great and the portion was pretty big so I had some leftovers to take home. My husband ordered the Basil Duck, this was both of our first times trying duck and we were so impressed! It was savory and tender but still chewy, would recommend branching out and trying the duck here. I will definitely be coming back to Thai Cottage, I can only imagine that it's very fun and a great place to visit in Spring and Summer as well!
google avatar

Joanie C.

Yelp
I'm on the road and we stopped in the Thai cottage for dinner. Food was very good and reasonable! We got the dumplings and vegetable spring rolls for appetizer and then for our mains we had pad kee mow the best i ever had!!!!!!
google avatar

Suzan H.

Yelp
The best! The most awesome Thai experience. The space, the menu, the staff, the food. ALL great! We have ordered probably everything on the menu at least once. We enjoy the atmosphere whether eating inside or outside. The Thai Coffee and Tea are exceptional. The spice levels are perfect. And the portions are perfect-we rarely have leftovers (which is sometimes a bummer), but when we order 3 dishes for 4 people, it's just the right amount. A lot of veggies options as well as chicken and beef. They will make modest accommodations if you need. But, try not to-you want to experience the flavor. For lunch they have an incredible deal that includes a small salad and an appetizer with the entrée choice. Again-perfect for a lunch that won't weigh you down-but, will definitely lift your spirits!
google avatar

Nina B.

Yelp
Delicious takeout spot. The food is fresh and fast. Would recommend to anyone craving Thai. We had pad thai (extra veggie , medium heat) it was perfect.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
I was excited to try Thai Cottage because of the reviews and because I've heard so many positive things. When we visited, the inside was stiflingly hot so we sat outside. It was very nice sitting outside, actually, and I think more private. We had iced coffee which was tasty. And we had two entrees. My red curry was supposed to be an 8 but felt much more like a spice level of, mmm, maybe 3 or 4. It wasn't very hot or spicy at all. Portions weren't large, either, and the bowl that the curry came in had very few vegetables or chicken which meant I ended up using my friend's uneaten rice to sop up the remaining curry. Little spice / heat, small portions, smaller amount of vegetables / chicken. Meh ... disappointed.

Ed M.

Yelp
Really disappointing. The pad thai had no peanuts or scallions, the calamari was burnt and pad kee mao was a coagulated beige mess.
