Everything You Need To Eat In Chicago This Summer - Chicago - The Infatuation

"There's only one festival this summer where you can hang out by the water, eat food from Chicago's best restaurants, and hear Chance The Rapper (possibly) talk about hot dogs. That festival is EEEEEATSCON, our second annual gathering of our favorite food and people (including you and guests Chance, Common, and Chrissy Teigen), and it takes place from July 13-14 at the Salt Shed. It's like a music festival but for restaurants, with a line-up that includes 3 Little Pigs Chi, Diego, Professor Pizza, and more." - nick allen, john ringor, veda kilaru, john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen, veda kilaru, john ringor, john ringor, nick allen, veda kilaru, nick allen, nick allen, veda kilaru, nick allen, john ringor, veda kilaru, john ringor

It's essentially an extremely overcrowded parking lot with no seating and limited shade where you stand in line to get sample sized $8-$20 food from restaurants a few blocks away while listening to pre-recorded music whole watching amateur dancers. After standing in 20-minute lines for an hour, we ate our $50 snacks and left. Suggestions: Get a bigger space Limit the # of attendees. Form a line? All vendors agree on a set price of $4 or $5 for a small portion of food. This will move the lines faster. Provide at least some shade

Yelp
My family and I had a wonderful time at Thai Food Festival in Chicago. We enjoyed a delicious variety of dishes that included Pork Sausage Salad (Yum Moo-Yor), grilled Thai Sausage, Chicken Satay with salad, Mango Sticky Rice, etc. We also enjoyed live music performances. Besides food, you can find arts and crafts shops and Thai massage booths. It's a family-friendly festival. It happens every year and 2025 was my first time checking it out. I definitely recommend it.

Yelp
This is my 3rd year attending and each year the food selection grows in variety and region. The flavors are authentic and they do NOT hold back the spices and heat! The volunteers and staff are warm and friendly. Festival suggested donation is $5/per person, which is not bad. Performances were cute to watch while enjoying the food. This year they had such generous samples and freebies (mama ramen, canned Thai curries and other spin-the-wheel prizes. I look forward to this event every year!
