"Off the beaten path and located on the ground floor of the Liberty Plaza building, mother-daughter duo Aratporn and Nui Ruangrat tag team between the dining room and the kitchen to welcome guests at Thai Harmony. The menu melds classic Thai dishes and extensive sushi roll and sashimi lists with a creative, fresh southeast Asian flare. Khao soi Thai curry (any of the curries, really), drunken noodles, and the Beijing roast duck salad are standouts amongst the rest." - Nikki Miller-Ka

Google
I love Thai food but rarely eat it cause it always seems the same whereever I go. We just filed our taxes and we go out for lunch - seemed like a fair trade lol We were driving through Winston - Salem, searched for a place to eat and found Thai Harmony. The place isn't screaming come sit here and eat in harmony with the environment but one bite or slurp of soup and you mind and tummy become one with itself and there you find the harmony. It's almost divine. It's so good. If you have consumed so so Thai- well Thai Harmony will become your go to for Thai. People, people get the Bento Box with the General Tso Chicken - I know you are saying but Kim it will be too sweet. It's not it has heat with a wee little bit of sweetness with just enough of a crust and the chicken is so tender. What in the world. It's harmony people. And the ginger dressing on that salad. You all need to bottle that and sell it. Harmony, harmony - Thai Harmony.:)

Google
Lovely Thai place with surprisingly great food. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was quiet by American standards, which is a blessing in this day and age. Appetizers were fine but the main courses shone - General Tso's Chicken and Massaman Curry (both pictured) were excellent. The Miso Soup is also to die for, wonderful. Also the salad comes with lightly pickled onions and a wonderful ginger dressing - very delicious.

Google
This is not our first time. We enjoyed the sushi so much....they have tons of choices...and they also have other selection of curries and other stuff to choose. You have to come and try....all the staff are so friendly and attentive

Google
We love Thai food so we decided to try this new place out. The staff here are polite, friendly, and provide fast service. Our food was good and my martini was delicious. The reason I gave it a 4 rating was that I was disappointed in the taste of the soup in this picture. It was to sweet and milky. It didn’t have much flavor to it. Otherwise, we enjoyed all of our other selections. If we are in Winston again, we will go back. Enjoy!

My wife and I were traveling out of town and chose to go to Thai Harmony since it was close to our hotel. This was BY FAR the best fried rice and sushi we have ever had in our ENTIRE lives. We live in Wilmington, NC and there is a well known restaurant here that serves similar food and it doesn't compare. Hats off o the chef and staff. I will need to find a way to visit again so we can have this food!

Google
Excellent food. Level 3 spice was pretty spicy and I enjoyed it! Great flavor and kick to it.

Google
Easily some of the tastiest Thai food that I have had was here. Their Thai curries are the best. Being a vegetarian it's hard to sometimes find some good vegetarian options but I have no complaints from this place. Even the vegetarian rolls were good. The service here is always great. My husband loves this place too.

Google
The Restaurant was very nice. Beautifully set up. Staff was very kind and helpful. Food was great as well. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Went there last night for dinner. Wanted some sushi and looking at the ratings and review my coworker and I decided to check it out. I got an order of gyoza and a volcano roll. The service was great and the food came out quick. Both dishes were good and really hit the spot. It wasn't overly busy at the time but it looked like a nice place overall. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
All of my coworkers LOVE this place proving it appeals to some palettes, but the food here, for me, has always been a disappointment. The flavors are relatively bland and do not wake up the tastebuds like other, more authentic, Thai restaurants. It's almost like the owners/chefs have given up being authentic and has become content with just cooking for the masses. I don't blame them though -- the masses pay the bills. The ambiance here is modern and the restaurant is well decorated. The food comes out quickly and the service is average. No complaints there. If you want better a better flavor profile with a similar ambiance, go around the building and check out What Da Pho.

Yelp
While I prefer nigiri and chirashi over rolls, maki were the only options on the lunch menu. Thus I chose the Alaska and earthquake roll combo, starting first with miso soup. The miso was loaded with seaweed and tofu cubes and was more flavorful than I first expected. The maki arrived soon after, and the presentation was nice. A bit average on the quality of the fish, I thought, but the pieces were well formed and did not fall apart. The light lunch left me wanting more, so I added the trio of mochi ice cream flavors to round out the meal. The table tent advertised this at $4.95, but I was charged two additional dollars for the dessert. I will say they probably put two dollars worth of whipped cream, caramel syrup, and chocolate syrup atop the little blobs of ice cream. Service was prompt, and perhaps a bit overzealous as the waitress would fill my water glass each time I drank more than twenty percent of its contents. There's ongoing work in the building that holds this restaurant. The space feels a bit more like it could be a downtown sports bar than an Asian restaurant. All in all, the meal was okay but not especially memorable, and the overcharging left me a bit frustrated. 2.75 stars.

Yelp
Family friendly and super friendly service! Our waitress was very attentive and so welcoming. We sat outside and since Thai Harmony is located next to Civic Plaza Park, there were lots of kiddos who were running from the outdoor tables to play in the park. I got the Reynold's tower roll and it was delicious! My husband got the pan seared tuna which was a small tuna steak with a side salad for $28. Yummy but definitely leaves you hungry and not worth the price in our opinion.

Yelp
A solid sushi and Thai option downtown! Went for dinner with friends: party of four and got seated immediately and an incredible and fun waitress-service was wonderful! We started with crab Rangoon and shrimp and crab egg rolls: they were decent! The Rangoon was made with wonton wrappers, so they are a bit more delicate than others. Our waitress told us the spice levels were American spicy, not Thai spicy, which is good to know! She brought a spice tray with several sauces and chilis to up the level (we're wild like that) Entrees: Drunken noodles with soy duck-diner enjoyed it! Spice level 4 and needed some more power. The soy duck was tender for soy and the noodles were nice and not overdone. Not 'fatty' but fall apart in your mouth tender. Pho with duck-loved it. The duck was incredible and the noodles were great. Larb and sticky rice- the larb was good, and the sticky rice got sent back because it was porridge texture? Exchanged for Jasmine rice. Som tum and earthquake roll- this was mine and pictured! The som tum (level 4) was excellent: funky salty spicy. The earthquake roll was good: spicy tuna, avocado and crunch. I added more spice to the som tum and it needed an extra bit of lime or splash of fish sauce. Definitely order again! For dessert we got lava cake (loved it) and mochi ice cream-the mochi was fine, thin layer and not the best ice cream for the vanilla. The mango and strawberry were much better. Great music and chill vibe for a downtown place! Entrees: Drunken noodles

Yelp
The ambiance is inviting; the restaurant has a peaceful vibe and looks clean upon entrance. All staff were very pleasant. The guests I dined with frequented the place so all staff knew them well and were very friendly. The waitress gave me plenty of time to try to decide what I wanted since it was my first time. We discussed gluten free options which there were many to choose from. I finally chose the yellow curry with vegetables and Jasmine rice. My preference was regular with as less spiciness as possible. Good was served in a very timely manner; did not take long at all. When I first tasted the dish it tasted a bit spicy and I was afraid it was but it was recommended I once I add the rice maybe it wouldn't taste as spicy and they were right. The yellow curry flavor as very good. It had a nice sweet tangy flavor. I ended up soaking up a lot of the sauce with adding so much rice at once so I asked for extra sauce to take home with the rest of the food as I couldn't eat it all. Can't wait to have it for leftovers tomorrow.

Yelp
Got seaweed salad (delicious) and a sushi roll. The staff were incredibly delightful and eager to make our experience relaxing and enjoyable. We sat out front and it was nice to view the city while hearing the occasional song from the flower keys in the courtyard out front.

Michelle O.

Yelp
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Winston Salem. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly!! Also the decor is really pretty

Monica M.

Yelp
Loved it! Can't wait to go back! Everything was super fresh and the sushi rolls were packed with flavor. The portion sizes were excellent. For checking in on Yelp, we even got a complimentary spring roll! Also so delicious. We ordered miso soup and the clear soup, the broths of both were so savory! Both soups were served in a plentiful sized soup tin and were at the perfect temperature. The staff was so friendly and happy to be there! I can't wait to return and see those smiling faces and enjoy more food

Sarah C.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the waiter was really friendly. I do have to warn, however, that people who are allergic to shellfish should not eat here. Things that contain shellfish are not obviously marked. I had the red curry with chicken. I had no idea that it's made with shrimp paste, which led to some real suffering, so if this affects you, please be careful! The aesthetics were nice, and the volume level was really low for downtown Winston. Recommended for anyone without such an allergy.

Kokku R.

Yelp
The food is good Service is great The bison dish is bit sweet(ordered medium spice) I don't suggest who prefer a spice. The sushi is good and best. Great ambience!

Yelp
Ate here last Sunday. The food was fine, we both had crab fried rice. Once upon a time this was a go-to spot for lunch and dinner, but the quality of the food changed. This visit was my attempt at a 2nd chance. The waitress was friendly, extremely talkative, but prompt. Upon checkout is where the problems began. The waitress used the hand device to ring up the bill. It should have been $42 dollars pre tax, with tax I expected $47ish. As the waitress is calculating the bill she is overly talkative, laughing and joking the entire time. She turns the hand device around for me to review, I check it and see 2 items, a pretty simple calculation since we both had water w/lemon. She then turns it to my partner to sign and then it hits me, why is it $53!! He pulls his card back. I asked for a breakdown, which she tried to gloss over, but in the end she had given herself a 20% tip. He asked why did you do that. She replied that her manager requires it. This prompts him to say, what's happening here isn't legal, patrons aren't required to leave a tip. Side note: we always tip, but being forced didn't sit well. Again, she replied that her manager requires them to add it. He asked what if someone was leaving a cash tip, what would you do then? Again, he asked to speak to the manager. She then says ok I'll remove it. I could tell that he was done with all of it so I took over. The waitress fumbles with the device for what felt like 5-mins of re-entering the ticket, backing it out and re-entering it again. Let me point out what I saw for future awareness. In addition to this 20% "mandatory" minimal tip she selected, the next screen displayed a 7%, 5% & 3% additional gratuity. I suspect this gratuity would be calculated off the original $53, which would have made the check $57ish, max. The exchange could've been avoided if the waitress was forthcoming. I see why there's an uproar in the dinning community about tipping culture. I believe her demeanor was a distraction from pre-selecting the tip and it nearly worked. I'm sure a lot of patrons were duped. Waitstaff is picking the amount of their tips for us. Restaurant owners are relying on us to supplement their employees' pay as if we're silent partners. These tactics, hidden fees and presumptions are becoming out of hand and it adversely is impacting the dinning experience. Tips are based on after tax $, not pretax $, so consider that a favorable win that diners aren't complaining about. There has to be a better way to support local and keep control of your pockets. I'm not in favor of deceptive practices.

Yelp
It's been two years since my first review, and this is still my favorite sushi place. Take out or dine in- everything always tastes amazing. Made well, super fresh, and unique items. The crab Rangoon and the Sea Monster roll are my go to orders. They also have amazing drinks! The lychee sake is great option for to go orders, as you can order the bottle. The jasmine gin drink is so refreshing and tasty- and purple! The sushi is great, the other dishes are flavorful, and even the calamari is amazing. Bathrooms are clean. Service is friendly and great with kids. The only two things that could be improved- 1. The to go sauce that comes with the wontons is watery and not good. But honestly they wontons are so good they don't need any sauce. All their other sauces are great. 2. Offering real reusable chopsticks would be nice at a place like this. I usually bring my own because I get tired of using the wooden splintery ones.

Vincent L.

Yelp
The restaurant looks fantastic, high ceiling, tall glass window wall that you can clearly see the street. Usually a steakhouse or more expensive restaurant have these kind of feature in downtown. Place looks good but food is very regular. Portion is small, I guess rent is high because it is downtown. I have the worst mango sticky rice desserts ever.

Sam A.

Yelp
This was a good dish - broth was really tasty and was the right mix. I asked about the protein for this dish and they said beef was best - they were right. Service here is excellent - some construction going on nearby for the new Children's museum. I usually only get sushi here but was branching out. Lunch was good. Only complaint - sodas are $3.99 for a fountain drink - I needed some caffeine and got a diet Dr. pepper - soda didn't taste great - as actually kind of bad and was $4 - low mix - empty box - not sure - would get water next time or maybe a tea. I definitely liked the food and probably still good when ordered as takeout - I'll be back.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Thai Harmony is *almost* walkably close to my work, and definitely walkably close when the Stevens Center has events (closing soon for renos) and right next door to the downtown Kaleideum location (coming soon!) so it ends up in irregular rotation for me. Usually I order a noodle dish (pad see ew) or green curry, but I've also made a meal of appetizers on occasion.

Kay K.

Yelp
Nice service nice ambiance. Good sushi. Will go again to try their tempura dishes. Inexpensive nothing but good things.

Derion R.

Yelp
Just go ! That's all I can say. Just gooooooooo! I can't recall the name of the sushi roll but it was delish and the Hennessy sidecar (perrrffeect)

Carrie D.

Yelp
We loved the food and the ambiance. I went with a very large family group and it was great to get to all sit together and enjoy amazing food and service

Liz B.

Yelp
Wonderful service, not a long wait time for food, everything was delicious, and the atmosphere is lovely. I ordered the chicken pad thai and it exceeded my expectations. If you like a little spice but aren't super tolerant, i recommend spicy level 1-2... I got a 3 and my eyes were watering but I still cleared my plate it was so good!! I can't wait to come back!

Bonnie L.

Yelp
We have been a regular customer for years and to leave this review was not easy for me to do. We came here tonight early because we know Saturday nights are a busy time. We still had to wait over 15 minutes to be seen by a waiter. I asked for a rum and pineapple and was served something that I can only describe as something foreign. I ordered a seaweed Sashimi salad. When it came it looked so good and plentiful. Come to find out there was literally a chain of cucumber underneath! They used they to make it fuller. The Bangkok chicken my husband ordered was super dry and not good. He didn't want to return it for fear that we'd have to wait longer and who knows what we'd get next? I'm not sure what is going on but this is not the restaurant we've come to over and over before.

Bruno G.

Yelp
The best Thai food in town. The ambiance is quiet; good place for conversation. The service is efficient. You can park in the parking deck next door. They validate parking (if you bring your ticket inside - which I forgot to do).

Barrie P.

Yelp
We came here for an early dinner because my son was craving sushi. Street parking is blocked off from construction, but they will validate your parking for the attached garage. I received a free spring roll for checking in. It was crispy and tasty. We loved the satay. It was well-grilled and had an excellent flavor. The Thai iced tea was very good as well. The sushi boat was excellent. The sashimi was the perfect thickness and very fresh. The California roll was well balanced between the fillings and rice. The nigiri was delicious too. The waitress was very sweet and made the meal a really awesome experience. With it being so close to the Kaleidiem we will be eating here a lot more.

Robynn 'Pebblez' S.

Yelp
This place was really good the duck noodle was delicious and the drinks were good. I like that they had a full bar.

Maggie K.

Yelp
I've been to Thai Harmony twice now and can easily see it becoming a restaurant I visit regularly. It is on the higher price range when it comes to Thai food but I think you get what you pay for. Big portions with big flavors. So far I've tried the Pad Thai and the Pad See Ew. Both were delicious. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because both times I've visited, the wait has been pretty significant. To be fair, there was only one server for a packed restaurant, along with the host who seemed to be helping out when he could. Maybe they are low on staff but I hope they can get some extra hands to take the pressure off of those working so hard.

Rodion D.

Yelp
Great place I found while exploring the downtown area passing the city on a business trip. Great warming service from the door and tasty food. It was quite popular inside I must say. Recommend

Sarah W.

Yelp
Went for a friends birthday party, and was not disappointed! Location is a little hectic right now, but loved the ambience and sushi was amazing. Staff was friendly and helpful and I will definitely be back.

Helen C.

Yelp
We tried their take out when we were in downtown and did not want to cook for the night. We were surprised they only served tom yum soup with seafood in large size and charged for $20, I would expect it has to be good and would actually come in large portion, it is more like a pint ice cream size. We also got fried calamari appetizer, green curry with shrimp, and tofu noodle soup. Taste-wise, it is not outstanding among Winston Salem Thai scene. Unless I have to, I will stick with Cha Da Thai or Thai Sawatdee.

Tamisha K.

Yelp
The service was great. Our waiter was very attentive even though it was a very business evening. The food was really good and I love the downtown Winston-Salem location.

Josh S.

Yelp
Wonderful experience. Staff was attentive and moved swiftly. Good was out of this world

Trivia F.

Yelp
Service was quick and friendly the sushi roll was fresh start to the bar crawl my friend had this Sunday. We had the ex-girlfriend and Andaman roll. The ex girlfriend was my pick of the roll's flavorful simple and a mix of sweet and spicy the two rolls.

Natalie R.

Yelp
Delicious and quick delivery. The driver was attentive and communicative. The service was great. I called before hand to confirm menu items and they were very friendly. I was able to enjoy my meal from the comfort of my hotel. Noodles with an extra egg. Had plenty of chicken and veggies. It came w complimentary egg roll and sauce.

Caden W.

Yelp
I ordered 2 Philly rolls for delivery! They were great and the salmon tasted very fresh. It took the order about 25mins to get delivered, and it was still fresh and delicious. I gave 4stars and not 5 because I wanted to try some of the other sushi rolls, but the menu doesn't specify what type of fish is in each roll. I have a crab allergy so it's very important for me to know what's in the rolls.

Cathy Z.

Yelp
Excellent service and fabulous food! Beautiful atmosphere. Please support this business.

Raymond S.

Yelp
I thought the menu was limited. Not traditional American Thai but it was a decent restaurant. Heat is 1-5, I got five and probably would have preferred 10-15. I felt no heat. The hot and sour soup was bland at best. All in all, hard pass. They do have the biggest bar I have ever seen in a Thai restaurant.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Went here for late lunch and the service is just great! Very accomodating for my first time here. I got the tofu pad kaprow and crispy calamari, they're both great! Will definitely come back

Dayla K.

Yelp
Needed to get our sushi fix! It was good. We always order spicy Mayo and a bit extra eel sauce!

Satorria M.

Yelp
Food and Service is great! Now hidden due to construction. I would highly recommend. Especially for lunch!

Rachel H.

Yelp
Extremely overpriced for what you get. We ordered the tuna tartar appetizer, the tsunami roll and the bagel roll. Everything was mediocre. What really disappointed me was that the tuna tartar was $15.99 and the portion was laughable (photo attached with my hand as a reference). I can't comment on the atmosphere because we ordered take out...maybe this makes up for the prices and average food.

Rena H.

Yelp
We are so lucky to have a great sushi place in a walkable area downtown! We fixed our sushi craving tonight with spicy tuna rolls, the Lighthouse roll, and the Volcano roll. On prior visits we tried others and they were equally amazing. The quality of the fish is really high, and the sauces they use on the speciality rolls are so flavorful and unique. Although we haven't tried the Thai food yet, we're looking forward to that in the cold winter months - everything looks and smells really authentic. The drink menu is creative and they run specials every week - Thursday's are $2 domestic beers. They have some really delicious dessert cocktails such as Thai tea and mango sticky rice martinis. Overall this is a super special spot in downtown Winston - you can tell the owners really care about their restaurant and that makes all the difference. Don't forget to end your visit with some mango sticky rice!

Jenny N.

Yelp
Chicken pad see ew: 5/10 Decent quality Thai food for Winston-Salem! I've only been here twice and service was great when we were able to find our server. They are often busy but I appreciate the ability to pay through your phone using the QR code on your receipt. The atmosphere is very nice and great for any occasion. They also have their own parking structure if street parking is hard to find. Pad see ew looked very bland was not special in any way. Chicken was not well seasoned and dry, noodles were very short and overcooked. I tried my friend's green curry which tasted better but am not sure if I would go back.

Kylie B.

Yelp
I was really surprised with how yummy Thai Harmony was. My friends and I decided on this last minute near closing time and our service was great. I got the poke bowl which was missing a few toppings just because it was the end of the night. It was still good. The lettuce wraps were great as well and super filling.

Joshua B.

Yelp
I have had a lot of Thai food and this place is just meh from the portion size along with the flavor. There was no spice or flavoring in there. After I ate my bland noodles found out you had to ask to bring some spice out. I will say the service was great and I loved the atmosphere. I would not go out of my way to eat here but it was good.

Fiorella B.

Yelp
I don't know where to start... I used to have good memories of Thai Harmony, we came one day probably more than 6 months ago, and had a nice quiet dinner. It was date night and it sure felt like that. The food was alright, but we really had a good time together, the service was great and I should have written a review then, but unfortunately, we remember bad experiences more than good ones, especially in restaurants. We came back this past Saturday, it was 9:00 pm and for a second I thought we were not going to be seated, but we were. The location of our table felt like it was in the middle of the way, it felt almost like it didn't belong there. We didn't really care, we were hungry and wanted to sit down and watch some of the March Madness games. I ordered myself a Sapporo beer, fried calamari, spring rolls, shrimp Shumai and the seafood salad roll. Have to admit, the beer was delicious and the temperature was perfect, the restaurant was extremely packed; it surprised me that so many people were there, a table of 17 college kids was there drinking sake bombs. They left shortly after we arrived, then our food came. The spring rolls were plain, the calamari was terrible I think is the worst I have tried in my life and that's a lot to say, I'm not trying to be rude or mean but they were really bad. The oil tasted powerful and old, the calamari were chewy and the batter was really bad, it almost tasted like they were using the same batter from their Thai Doughnuts with a hint of cinnamon or something. But the roll was an epic fail, the rice was hard and fridge cold, the inside had some unidentifiable meat, I didn't know what I was eating, it could be a raw scallop or maybe white fish? I have no clue. The soy sauce served in plastic to go container, and their wasabi was squeezed straight from the tube to the plate. I wasn't mad, I wasn't upset. They removed the calamari from the check and charged us for the rest. I feel sad because I really thought Thai Harmony was on point, maybe I didn't order the right dish but one thing is to not like the food because of personal preference and another one is to not like the food because it is NOT FRESH. At this point, I don't think I will be back, rather giving that chance to another business.

Fred B.

Yelp
My son and I visted this restaurant today for lunch, and to say we were impressed would be more than a bit of an understatement. The food and service were spot on, and their import beer menu is impressive. We started with Golden Curry Puffs and Fresh Summer Rolls with Shrimp - both of which were excellent. The Curry Puffs come with a tart cucumber relish that counters and at the same time adds to the sweetness of the puffs. The Summer Rolls come with a plum/peanut sauce that was a perfect match - little was left, much was talked about. I chose the Thai Roasted Chicken , ans I'm not sure I've had a better chicken dish, regardless of cooking method or type of cuisine. It was incredibly crisp on the outside, while moist and very flavorful on the inside. I heart this dish. My son chose the Drunken Noodles, and this was another superior dish in an awesome basil sauce. We ask for anr were given a spice rack with 3 great sauces, and we used much of all. You can order off the more varied Dinner Menu at lunch, and we did - nice touch! The service is great, the husband and wife owners are delightful and apprecative. A great restaurant, and yes, I will be back.

Emilee B.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! The servers are so incredibly nice and the food was amazing! I really recommended the Bangkok chicken (forgot to get a picture)

Alicia Y.

Yelp
The food was extremely flavorful and hit every tastebud imaginable. The service was fast and efficient, we did not wait for any of the food we ordered for long, everyone was attentive and wore a smile on their face. I got the Pangang Currywitj sharing and it was sweet, savory, and spicy! All the things I love! I can't recommend eating here enough!

Kelly E.

Yelp
Fresh, fresh, fresh. Did I mention fresh? We have tried many Thai restaurants in the Winston Salem area and I have to say they are serving some of the freshest sushi in town. You won't see pale pickled ginger and when every other establishment says that mangos are out of season so they will only have pineapple sticky rice, this one knocks it out of the park with fresh ripe mangoes. Just go.

Jordan K.

Yelp
10 out of 10. Service was unmatched, so friendly. Food was delicious and good portions. Drink specials even on weekends! Overall would recommend 100%

Dawnielle W.

Yelp
This is a great lunch spot! The bento box combos and prices are perfect for a quick sushi place. The service is good and everything was really flavorful. Fish was fresh and they don't skimp on the fish in the sushi.
