This was a one woman show and she was phenomenal. She was the host, cashier, waitress, and chef! The broth was my favorite - I could come and drink just that and be fine. We chose the two spicy broths without pork. The meat and veggies were really good quality. I never had bean curd rolls before, that was unique. They had a salad and sauce bar which was minimal - didn’t really need the sauces anyways. The papaya salad they had was great and an excellent appetizer while waiting for your hotpot. My partner and I did the classic AYCE. We didn’t feel the need for the premium and still had so good of a time that we would definitely go back. Thanks for a great time!!

I expected a lot more from this place. It was good, just not fabulous. It was very hot in the restaurant, no fans or AC. Our server kept forgetting our order, even though we asked multiple times. The condiments table was sticky and dirty. The chicken satay was so over cooked that it was hard to chew. We ordered all you can eat, there's 4 of us, but the trays of food came in 2 or 3. There should have been enough for everyone. This was the first time we went there, and probably our last.

I LOVE Thai Hot Pot Heaven! Their all you can eat hot pot is the way to go and highly recommend upgrading to prime plus for the premium it’s of meat like the ribeye and NY strip. I love how many seafood options they had like the shrimp, live prawns, scallops and mussels. Their staff is super friendly and helpful. It’s a homey and quaint atmosphere. Love the owner Tina, she’s a sweetheart alongside the rest of the staff. Defenitrlu recommending to all of my friends!

The food was incredible!! Loved all the options! The tables are a little small to fit all the food we ordered but we made it work! They were slammed but still provided great service! Potato chive cakes are an absolute must!

Google
Great place. We weren't very hungry, so we ordered something small. It was very good. Wonderful service! The only downside is trying to find Street parking was very hard. Maybe go on a weekday for early dinner next time.

Google
We just left this place, and couldn't wait to leave this 5-star review. The owner and staff were so friendly and attentive. The food was phenomenal. We ordered the Prime Plus hotpot, which included many of the things we were going to order anyway. The fried rice was superb, pad Thai delicious, and the chive cakes were scrumptious! The broth for the hotpot was outstanding. If you are into hotpot food (like I am), or if you have always wanted to try it, this is the place to go!

I was appalled when I came here. This was by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I went here with a group of 6 people in total. Their portions were awful for the number of people we had (compared to another hotpot place that was more accommodating and had more food for all guests involved in the experience). We all get inside, and we do not receive any drinks until after we receive our food, which still took a long time. We didn't even receive WATER. We had to retrieve our own dishes, silverware, etc, from the front of the restaurant and got barely any service. They were very welcoming to another group who had a birthday, which I can appreciate, but they had NO regard for us as another party in their restaurant. The food was of okay quality, but there just was NOT enough for all of us sitting there. The experience was disappointing and made me never want to try hotpot until I was shown a proper hotpot experience elsewhere. I felt like I barely saw any waiter/waitress during our visit besides taking our food order, dropping it off, and that was that. They didn't even do the bare minimum. The whole group I was with was appalled by this horrendous service. I will NEVER go back here. I also left a review on Yelp explaining this situation, and their response was not it. Tipping of 20% or more was automatically applied to our party because we had a party of 6, and this was mentioned to make sure "their hard-working employees got tipped." But there were two parties in this restaurant at the time, and only one party was tended to. Wanting to celebrate special moments is wonderful, and I can appreciate that, but whatever was going on this day was not okay, as they sang Happy Birthday twice, and then our whole table was overlooked and received nothing but the most horrendous service I've ever experienced in my life. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this place genuinely deserves it. We will never be coming back here, and I will never recommend this place, as it was just a very disappointing FIRST TIME hotpot experience. There is no excuse to be rude to PAYING patrons or to overlook someone who just wants to have a genuinely good experience. There is also no excuse to offer such horrendous quality of service when there were only two parties in the restaurant.

Google
I felt compelled to write a honest review. I’ve never been to hot pot before at a restaurant and I was blown away. From the attentive, quick and friendly service, to the interactive cooking element and fresh beautiful veggies and high quality meats. The sauce bar really stood out. This place is right down the street from my house and now I want to come back every week. I cannot recommend this spot enough, Tina the owner is SO sweet and warm. The hot pot is unique and outstanding, don’t miss out! ♥️

Yelp
Some of the best affordable hot pot I've had in Portland! The broth was perfect spice and the servers made me feel welcomed. When it comes to the store itself, the ambiance is very quaint and quiet, which made my meal feel even better!

Yelp
Lovely hot pot would come again!! The lamb was super delicious as well as the pork. The male broth was also amazing

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a rainy day around 12:30 pm and it was not busy. We came for the hot pot so we did the all you can eat and we were pleasantly surprised! The sauce bar was nice with the salad rolls and papaya salad available too. We stuck with water but they've got a nice selection of specialty drinks. For two people, we maxed out our first round getting items from all categories. Our favorites were the egg noodles and mushroom variety. The beef and lamb were good. We never made it to round two but now that we know what to expect, we're better prepared for next time! Like I don't need the egg fried rice next time. It was good but better if you're sharing with at least 4 people. It's gonna fill you up otherwise! Egg rolls on the other hand, very doable. Enjoy!

Yelp
I saw this place from the instagram account pdxfoodfinds, and as a hotpot lover I needed to try it. We chose the tom yum and Japanese shoyu broth bases. The tom yum was slightly more watery compared to the normal tom yum I eat as a main dish, but since it was for hotpot I didn't mind. The shoyu was good, it was savory, umami, and a little bit sweet, perfect for enoki mushrooms and veggies. The chicken and beef were fresh too. I cooked them in the tom yum and they turned out so tender. As the video said, they did have a smaller section of dipping sauces compared to Chinese hotpot, but that worked for me as long as I got some soy sauce and chili sauce. I had a few experiences with mu kratha in Koh Chang ten years ago, and it was super fun. The food and the flavors here kind of brought back those memories. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a bit of soupy late night food and wants some comfort food, especially on a cold, rainy night.

Yelp
** One of the worst experiences I've ever had, $104 lost ** Don't know if we caught them on another bad night or something since I was warned by a friend earlier in the week that service is slow, but we really wanted to try Thai style broths. It was not worth it. Almost every sauce at the station was empty and there were no signs showing recommend mixes, we didn't receive a water refill or be asked if we're ordering round 2 for over an hour (we did the Prime version) and it got to the point the broth was almost empty and burning up the sides of the pot. We also didn't receive items we marked on the menu such as sticky rice or the fish balls with roe. After sitting there without service for over an hour, we had to physically get up just to ask for the menu to the 2nd round. Ultimately the broth had been boiling with little bits of meat for so long it didn't taste good anymore, when we asked for new broths it became a debate on why we'd want new broths and we were turned off completely. We decided to hand our menu back and forgo the all you can eat rounds we paid for resulting in $104 for 1 round of food that lasted us 30 minutes. (Still not sure what the extra $4 on our bill was since we didn't get drinks) We watched another couple next to us wait almost the entire time it took us to eat to be able to get their check since they thought someone would come over and check on them but instead had to also physically walk up to the counter to get any attention and be able to pay. Overall, the meats and veggies were good quality, the broths were flavorful, but the service experience and lack of sauces really left a lot to be desired and I cannot recommend this place.
google avatar

Nikky B.

Yelp
Good and friendly services! We asked for extra broth and they didn't charge us so that was a plus. Our food quality overall was alright nothing stood out for me. There were no desserts available so it was a bit disappointing. We walked down the street to find dessert after dinner. Average space with typical Thai's decor.

Yelp
We came for the premium AYCE and it was such a fun experience! The spread of sauces is awesome and they were all really tasty. They had a really good selection of cooked appetizers and sides as well but we tried not to indulge too much in that so we could focus on hot pot! However, the chive cakes were tasty and the pad Thai was actually quite good. The pad Thai was a bit of a filling portion though. The jumbo fresh water shrimp were maybe the biggest I've seen at a restaurant in Portland, but super tasty!! They barely even fit in the pot! Surprisingly the bok choy and the enoki mushrooms were also on the premium menu. I wish there had been more seafood, even if it was on the premium menu, I do love having fish in hot pot. However, everything was really tasty and they even had a shave ice machine for you to make your own for dessert! I'd definitely come back, but if I had any recommendations, I'd say the veggies should all be on the regular menu, and there should be more seafood options, even if they all go on the premium menu.

Yelp
An excellent Thai hot pot experience. Come early because it gets busy quick! The space is small but we were lucky enough to grab a table for an early dinner. There's an assortment of veggies, apps, salads, and noodles to choose from as well as meats. The service was impeccable and they made sure we're were well taken care of. No waiting around for more food to come while the clock ticks (you're on a time limit). They came out with the food quick and got us more broth when needed. A delicious experience!

Yelp
Try this new hot pot location and was very impressed overall. The inside seating is moderate and it wasn't busy when we went. We got the prime all you can eat and did the mala and house clear broth. The mala was amazing and when they refilled our broth, even added more spices to recharge the flavor! We got all the prime cuts and it was very tender and delicious with the broth. The sauce bar is also very customizable and they have all the utensils and bowls out so you can grab it instead of waiting. That decor and music really puts you in the mood. The only thing I would say is there was only a few workers so getting refills and flagging down for orders took a while so we had to wait quite a bit after our first wave to order and get our second wave. Also, the giant prawns are amazing. The chive pancake is super good; really crispy and nice flavor. Be careful those are dangerous!
google avatar

MelissaAnne B.

Yelp
An affordable AYCE with amazing flavors and options! We got their Tom Yum and Jim Jum Broth. Both were very flavorful alone! We got to do three rounds and it filled us up. The sauce bar had many choices for you to choose from. We came during dinner and near closing, so their other sauce bar items weren't available to us. The menu is super simple- it will tell you how much you can order at a time. The staff is amazing! Super friendly and fun to interact with.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday for lunch around noon in December and we had the place all to ourselves! More people came later as we were leaving and the place really filled out. The server was so patient with us and explained how everything worked and we decided to go with the AYCE option since it made the most sense for bang for your buck. You mark down what you want for each round and I would totally recommend the AYCE option if you have a healthy appetite or going with a group of 2 or more. What I appreciated most was that the clear labeling of everything for food allergies, especially great for glute-free friend I was dining with! I loved that the sauce bar had special Thai condiments in addition to some of the hot pot sauce based I'm used to. The egg roll and pot stickers were golden and crispy - my toddler's favorite. We loved the sticky rice pouch, that was so fun to eat from. Meat options and veggies sides are pretty common for hot pot but I was especially excited about the Tom yum broth, which had the perfect balance of tangy and savory. We left with our bellies full and while it's on the pricier side for hot pot (a La carte or AYCE option) I would entourage you to come check out this homey and cozy place for yourself!

Yelp
A perfect christmas dinner in rainy Portland. We didn't have a reservation but they were so good about helping us right away. The hot pot flavors were punchy and not lacking. I loved the tom yum broth (spicy) with the brisket. Everything soaked in the broth flavor so well. The staff was very nice and helpful when our fire went out. We even got homemade banana bread muffins. A perfect end to the meal. I'm not sure if it was just a special treat for christmas but I hope to see the muffins again.

Yelp
We finally made it here to try their hot pot. It's different from the other places as it's more Thai based, from the broth and also some of the sides. I did like that you can order some of the hot items - chicken and beef skewers, as well as pad see ew and pad kee mao on the side. The veggies were standard on what you would expect to get for hot pot. The meat quality was decent. They also had a shaved ice machine that you can make a simple shaved ice dessert after your meal.

Yelp
Great new place. Never had thai hot pot before but very familiar and nice broths, agree with other reviews on not too greasy. Service was very kind and attentive. Wanted to try the pork satay but they were out. Chicken satay was just right It's a new and growing place that I look forward to watching its growth.

Yelp
Thai Hot Pot was such a great experience. The broth was flavorful and packed with depth, and all the ingredients were fresh and high quality. Cooking everything at the table made it fun and interactive, and the portions were generous. The staff was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a spot I would recommend if you love hot pot and bold Thai flavors.

Yelp
Thai Short Rib stew noodles with meatballs OMG it was so good! Definitely order it spicy but not Thai spicy. It was like a cross between beef stew and pho it was so good on a cold rainy night. Yum! 10/10

Yelp
Love this small local hot pot spot! Located on 23rd, Thai Hot Pot Heaven offers both traditional Thai dishes as well as hot pot. The inside of the restaurant is homey and cozy. I've been here a couple times now, but mostly just for their hotpot. The owner is such a down-to-earth guy and super friendly. The food is good, and the hot pot is so comforting. A go-to spot and I highly recommend!

Kyle A.

Yelp
The value for the AYCE is great. It includes unlimited sauce bar with salad rolls and som tum. A variety of meats, veggies, noodles and side dishes (such as rangoons and fried rice). We choose the Tom Yum broth and Jim Jum broth, both were very flavorful and great for the cold weather. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Angel L.

Yelp
great service! Will definitely go again great tint fireball to be had a must try. great customer setvice

Yelp
Swung by with a friend on a weekday and got a seat pretty quickly even though there was bit of a crowd! Some groups of two definitely need a 4 seater if you get hot pot esp because of the space needed. The interior is quaint but does have a good amount of space. You order from your table then there's a sauce bar where you can make up your little dipping sauces for your hot pot! We went with the thai fries with tom yum seasoning and decided to go the hot pot route as well -- kept it vegetarian for my leaf eating self with the mushroom broth. They have a huge variety of items including a plethora of vegetables, tofu, noodles, etc. There's a good variety of meat and seafood if you're an omnivore too! The veggie broth was good and our sauces from the sauce bar helped increase the flavor just a bit more. I will say the fries were super addictive with tangy savory seasoning and the hot pot itself was the perfect thing for a rainy day. Service was very friendly and accommodating and prices are fair for what you get. Parking in this area can be dicey so plan ahead esp at rush hour or busy times!

Stacey P.

Yelp
The yummiest, most fruitiest smoothie evah! The Strawberry Mango on a hot day was a delight! The people working were the nicest and the restaurant was clean and smelled delicious! Will be back for a meal next time!

Yelp
Tried AYCE. it was okay. tried tom yum and mala soup base. soup base was mediocre. Meat quality also mediocre. you can't go wrong with veg. Fried rice was good. Friendly staff. included salad roll was nice. Overall experience was disappointing--another example of not to trust social media.

Yelp
This place just opened up in the old Beau Thai location off NW 21st. I am super excited to see a new hot pot location in the NW. Currently, the offering is limited during their soft opening til Mar 29, but during this soft opening, they have an offer out for 10% off on the full meal or a free mango rice dessert. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and excited to provide good authentic Thai food. While I was there, they were staging pictures of their future offerings such as their hot pot, and it looks like they will be offering a lot of topping options. I ordered the Thai Stewed beef noodle soup and can attest that we are in for a treat, as the soup was very flavorful and the beef was perfectly tender. I am excited to come back after Mar 29th to try their hot pot.

Yelp
Truly a foodie joint! Delicious food all around and an "old school" experience with the tabletop warmer. I personally liked how you can custom make your own dipping sauce. A classic hot pot experience in a cozy space.

Grace L.

Yelp
This place is super cute and quite with really nummy soup! Service is nice. I got the spicy broth that begins with an M and if I could bathe in it I sooo would.

Yelp
We were looking to try something new and ended up finding Thai Hot Pot Heaven...it was a great choice! Everything from the food to the service was great! My DIL and I had the pork fried rice (flavorful on its own...no need for soy sauce) and a hot pot with two different broths, marinated steak.and chicken, pork belly, and steak. The sauce bar was especially fun and added to the experience. The sauces enhanced the flavor of everything we had, and there was enough food to leave us satisfied and happy. Service was friendly and efficient. Next time we're in Portland, we'll be coming back here!!
google avatar

Kal C.

Yelp
Hell yes. But...this is definitely Heaven. The hot pot is delicious, but the owners are so, so sweet. They were incredibly engaging and gracious - a husband and wife and fam churning out non-stop deliciousness. Please come in NOW before they blow up. They came from Colorado and opened about 4 months ago. I truly wish them and their family the ultimate success. You can just tell this is what they're made to do. They had the largest prawns I've ever seen, but the meat was incredible. The broths were divine - shout out to the mala and shoyu broths, but all were phenomenal. They're waiting on their OLCC license, so imbibe nearby for now. The mango sticky rice might be the best I've ever had, and the sauces were fabulous. Don't skip the seafood sauce. Cheers!

Yelp
The food was everything you'd expect when eating hot pot. The flavor, variety, and top tier meats, everything was amazing. Servers were very attentive and so kind. Thanks for treating us so well!

Yelp
I was super excited to come to Portland and try another restaurant that I had seen on social media. This was last night, which was Sunday on December 22nd around 6:15 PM. I love hot pot and this is the first of its kind that I ever heard of having Thai hot pot. I'm from Vegas and we have a lot of restaurants especially Japanese or Korean hot pots but not Thai. I'm of Thai descent as well so this really piqued my interest. The disappointment came with the service and to me the food was not worth the price. We saw one girl working there who is taking the order seating people, bringing out the food, etc. and other people that were supposedly working there, but did not do much of anything. Unfortunately, I did not want to order a hot pot for myself and my partner because I could see service was lacking because it took her 10 minutes to come take our order. We got our appetizers and they were fine but six pieces of small fried chive cake for $9.95 was quite disappointing. We didn't order much between the four of us, but it seems like a complicated order for the restaurant: two chicken pad Thai with two peanut sauce, one tofu Pad Kea Pao, and a beef rib stew with noodles. I know with a lot of Asian restaurants things come out as they are prepared, but you would hope that all the food would come out for your table before things came out for other people's tables, it did not. Three of us had food and she came back and asked did we get everything that we ordered which was quite obvious that it was not so she had to go back and ask for another chicken pad Thai. After she finally dropped off the last dish she did not come back at all. Apparently you have to get your own silverware napkins, etc. at the shop as well, but if you're gonna do that, put up a sign that tells you to serve yourself. The restaurant got busier and she was basically running around and forgot all about us. We had told her that we were going to order something to take out as well, but she said to tell her later because she would forget which is fine but once again she never came back to the table, so we had to go up to the register and order What I did notice about the food was that the pad Thai looked really bland and the peanut sauce that my friend ordered on the side was not good. The oil was separating from the peanut sauce. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever be back here to try the hot pot AYCE, because the service was very lackluster and for that price I don't think it's worth $50 especially with the server never coming back to check on you.

Yelp
My college student daughter and I had a terrific hot pot meal at this new and charming restaurant. We were on the prowl for hot pot and this place did not disappoint! We ordered the Jim Jim and Tom Yum broths for two with ribeye beef, egg noodles and the generous veggie platter. They have a wonderful make-your-own-sauce station. My daughter didn't wast any time making her special sauce: sesame paste, chili oil, ponzu sauce, sor sauce, and scallions. The births were especially delicious and after cooking the meat, veggies and noodles, slurped down the rest of the soup. As a final flourish, we got the taro Bally which my daughter enjoyed. Service was friendly and solicitous - thus is truly a family affair and the passion of fulfilling a lifelong dream shows. As we left, a number of new neighborhood regulars started streaming in. Come try this little gem of a place! I suspect it will become very busy soon.

Yelp
Delicious, authentic food with a spice that hits you behind your eyes (in the best way possible). My food was super flavorful and hot! My only comment is my husband said his noodles had no spice, but he enjoyed them. Staff/owner was super kind and inviting. We're only visiting, but I'd certainly go back on my next trip to Portland.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Great food and service. The person who helped us was so kind and friendly and made the experience so fun. Easy to find parking. Such a sweet local spot.

Yelp
Flavors, plating, and portions were great. Server and kitchen staff were helpful and welcoming. Really appreciate their hours, a well marked menu (for food sensitivity), the wide selection on their menu.
google avatar

Wen Q.

Yelp
Stopped by this new Thai restaurant to get a bowl of noodle soup as their photos on IG looked bomb. It's a cute little place run by a husband wife duo. The Tom Yum noodle soup didn't taste like Tom Yum Gong and not quite like anything I had before. It had a complex taste profile, slightly sweet and tangy. The egg noodles were chewy. I got some sauces from the hot pot sauce bar to try with the noodle soup. Really liked the chili oil and seafood sauce which I believe are both homemade. Will definitely return to try other dishes. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Ellen G.

Yelp
The food was excellent, the service was great, and the price was reasonable for this experience. It was an outing with my grandkids, and we all had a great time! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Very bad customer service. Made reservation for 3 people. They said we can only sit at the 2 seat table. Would, not recommend coming here

Yelp
If you love hot pot and Thai food, then this is the place for you! It's a different experience than the Chinese hot pot. Their quality of seafood is something I don't see in other places.

Heather N.

Yelp
Super friendly place. This was my first time here or even ever having hot pot. The server was great and answered all questions. The food was perfect and came to the table timely. We will be back again!

Yelp
This place is so cute, the staff is so so nice and you can really feel their passion! The food was really good, I'm super excited for the hotpot items coming soon~ I saw the one they put together as a tester and it looked amazing The beef in the pho was so tender, and the condiments they had were really good too! I especially liked the sour chili sauce I'm not sure what it's called The beef balls were grilled and had a really nice aroma, and the sauce was so nice! Unique to anything I've had before and paired perfectly with the smokey meat I really want to go back for the giant prawn dish, I can see myself working my way through the whole menu because if it's as good as the things I got this time I will not be disappointed. Really happy to have them in the neighborhood!

Nhi N.

Yelp
First time trying Thai hotpot and I'm officially obsessed. The broth was next-level -- we got the tom yum and it had that perfect spicy-sour kick that makes your nose run in the best way. Super flavorful without being too salty, which I really appreciate. They bring everything out super fresh -- thin slices of beef, shrimp, mushrooms, bok choy, noodles, you name it -- and you cook it right at the table. It's basically a delicious science experiment and I'm here for it. Service was fast and friendly, and the vibe was chill but lively. Great spot for a group hang or a date night if you don't mind sweating a little from the spice. Highly recommend if you want something a little different, super tasty, and actually fun to eat.

Yelp
A little spendy but the food was excellent! I had the pumpkin curry and my date had the fried rice

Yelp
Great food and service. Everyone was very nice and we even met the owner. Will only go here for hot pot forever. Best place!

Yelp
Every ingredient soaked up the flavor perfectly. Couldn't stop going back for more! Service was fast and tina so kind and friendly. It is cozy pot, a table full of friends, and the spice of Thai hospitality

Yelp
So happy to have a hot pot place near Nob Hill! We really enjoyed our experience here. The owners are wonderful- they moved from Thailand and definitely know what they are doing. The hot pot was fun and customizable- I liked the half and half of two different broths. I also really enjoyed the sauce bar. Not the fanciest ambiance but good service and clean and delicious food. Looking forward to visiting again and trying more of the dishes!

Upasak S.

Yelp
We had veg and jain food, and it was amazing. Thai broth without onion & garlic is a must have for its tangy & spicy taste. Service from the owner in answering all questions is extremely helpful. For hotpot lovers visiting Portland, this restaurant run by husband & wife is a must visit place.

Ani J.

Yelp
Such a cute restaurant with really helpful staff. Enjoyed the all you can eat hot pot and some appetizers. On weekdays from 11 to 5 only $30!

Mango sticky rice is INSANELY GOOD! The rice has a lovely texture, fun green color, and a fantastic sweet taste. Mangos were perfectly ripe, even in winter! Probably the best mango sticky rice I've had in Portland. Braised beef soup was great, if you like spicy food get it hot! The medium was a bit mild to me but a perfect spiciness level for those who want only a little kick. The white rice that comes with the soup is nice and fluffy. Got the food to go. Packaged well and in a way that keeps everything in prime condition until you're ready to mix it all together. Excellent to-go service!!! Will have to dine in for hot pot soon.
